@Irishgirl55 oh I've been missing my gin. Bought a bottle of 0% tanqueray and had it with lime and Mediterranean tonic. It was a great substitute for the real thing, definitely tackled the craving!

Irishgirl55 · 27/12/2022 21:20

@Bananabreakfast123 ohhh really? I have only seen the 0% Gordon's (I don't even like the normal one, never mind 0% 😂). I'll have to check out the tanqueray!

CatMad22 · 27/12/2022 23:12

@raffika I feel the same as you! My 20 week scan is tomorrow and I haven't felt anything yet either. My belly has grown a bit in the last few days though.

raffika · 27/12/2022 23:39

Thanks ladies, I feel a bit better now! I’m not worried, just feeling left out 🤣

@i83 i don’t envy you moving house at this time of year and whilst pregnant - hope it all goes well and you get chance to put your feet up for a couple of days!

@CatMad22 I seemed to go from looking at bit podgy to having a definite bump in the space of a few days, it’s crazy! There’s no hiding it now, and people keep touching it. I reluctantly tolerated it when my MIL gave it a pat, but drew the line at my aunty putting her hands under my jumper to touch it. Is this our lives for the next few months?!

I’m 21+1 with my first baby… am I the only one not feeling movement?

At my 20w scan on Wednesday, the baby did a couple of big movements, going from on its back to on its tummy and back again, and I didn’t feel a thing.

The sonographer told me it’s nothing to worry about, everyone is different, and the baby definitely was moving. I just feel like I’m missing out 😬

I'm 21+3 and felt nothing so far as well. I've got an anterior placenta but nobody seems concerned by the lack of movement. She wouldn't stop wriggling on the scan!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 28/12/2022 10:26

Christmas was great but so TIRING. Had an accidental nap on Xmas day and then a deliberate one on boxing day and 27th 😂.

@raffika we are back on 5th too for more measurements due to uncooperative babe!

Haha @TheBeesKnee your mum! What an assumption. We are team 💛 so will hopefully find out in may!

Awkwardusername · 28/12/2022 13:13

Had my 20 week scan today (19+5) and all seemed well other than baby wouldn’t stop moving! Kept its legs crossed the whole time which was handy as we didn’t want to know the sex (just as well really!).
The sonographer said she was reassured by everything she saw but she was struggling to get some measurements cause baby wouldn’t stay still - please can someone reassure me that her not asking us to come back means she got everything she needed and it’s all okay?
Baby is in the 40th percentile…is that good or bad or what? She didn’t comment, just dropped that in there as we were leaving!

Anyone else not had their whooping cough vaccine yet? I thought I’d be offered it today but wasn’t!

Irishgirl55 · 28/12/2022 13:21

No advice on the baby size but I had to contact my Gp to get the whooping cough.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 28/12/2022 15:08

@Awkwardusername definitely means she's ticked off everything she needs to. 40th centile is completely smack bang average, so that's great. Centiles basically mean if you took 100 babies at the exact same gestation, and ordered them by size, where would they be in the line. Your baby would be 40th in the line which implies they are growing normally.

Awkwardusername · 28/12/2022 15:23

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl amazing, thank you! Felt too stupid to ask as we were being ushered out 😳

tiantian1005 · 28/12/2022 15:25

Not sure if anyone had this, and I am feeling stupid to ask as last time I was asking about no movement at 18 weeks but now nearly 22 weeks baby seems to be moving all day long, not nonstop every second but def several times an hour PLUS doing the same throughout the night.. I am worried she is not sleeping or there is other things going wrong??

RugbyGirl1 · 28/12/2022 16:04

@raffika I'm not sure how I would feel about people touching my small but growing bump (or is that just all the Christmas food....😂🤔) So not at all surprised you drew the line!

Had my 20 week scan this morning - all measuring and developing fine, thankfully. Had been a bit anxious, still spotting daily, but the little bean wouldn't stop moving! I haven't felt any movements yet, and had had an anteria placenta but it's now moved to the side a bit. Still low although not covering the cervix anymore at least!

@Awkwardusername 40th centile is great news! Whooping cough vaccine is normally via the GP after 20 weeks - you should just be able to ring them up and book in 😊

Awkwardusername · 28/12/2022 16:10

@raffika someone touched my bump when I was at a wedding last week (someone I’d met once previously!) so I touched her tummy back. She asked me what I was doing! Exactly what she’d just done to me!

I barely let my partner touch it let alone people I don’t know!

Appleby11 · 28/12/2022 17:05

I had my whooping cough vaccination after my 16 week midwife appointment with the nurse. I was having my flu one and she asked if I wanted the whooping cough one too. Was that too early?

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 28/12/2022 17:40

@Appleby11 it's fine from 16wks

@Awkwardusername I was meant to get it at my 19 weeks scan but they didn't book it properly so I'm getting it before the re-scan

TheBeesKnee · 28/12/2022 17:53

@tiantian1005 I think they generally say that a moving baby is a healthy baby? But if you feel worried then definitely speak to your midwife. When is your next appointment?

This is brilliant, wish I could be as brave. It really upsets me people think it's okay to touch or even comment on your bump. I've started wearing baggy clothes that hide the bump when I meet certain touchy feely people to try and keep them at bay. Really struggling to adapt to my changing body and feel miserable any time I need to wear anything that isn't leggings and a t-shirt so don't need the added pressure of people touching!

KoalaMumma · 29/12/2022 22:32

Hi all.

Not found the May23 group until now somehow. I'm due on 21st May with my first.

I had a very quiet and smooth first 12 weeks. Everyone I know has said the 1st and 3rd trimester are the hardest and you should enjoy your 2nd because of how nice it is. I have found it to be the complete opposite! Up until week 14 I was fine. Mild ache in my boobs, no real sickness, just a little sleepy. But now I feel horrific. Constant nausea, sickness, aches, itching, breathless, exhausted.

And all of the things I have been told by experienced others and my midwife are oposite too. I am overweight to begin with and its my 1st so I was told to not worry when I didn't feel movement until later on. I have felt lots of movement since about 17 weeks (it will NOT stop wiggling!) I'm also massive. I am 19+4 and look about 34 weeks. In a full cartoon circle on the front too.

My 20wk scan is booked for next wednesday and I just don't know what to expect at this rate. I'm basicly working on - If someone tells me to prepare for it to be / feel one way. It will prety much be the exact oposite -

Any one else got reverse symptoms going on?

CatMad22 · 29/12/2022 23:49

I'm adding to the list of slightly uncooperative babies! I had my 20 week scan yesterday, little one is fine, heart ticking away which is always lovely to see. He decided to lie face down in my pelvis for nearly the whole time though 🤣 so I'm going back tomorrow so they can double check his heart as the lady couldn't see properly.

Re bump touching, the only person who has done that is my mum, which even felt a bit odd as she's not usually massively affectionate apart from a hug hello/goodbye.

I would feel weird too if anyone other than my husband touched it.

Awkwardusername · 30/12/2022 17:07

Probably TMI here but… I’ve been feeling what can only be described as fart bubbles right low down in my pelvis (top of where pubic hair would be!) without the actual need to fart (that sounds so awful, sorry!). Hoping this is the start of baby movements but also I have an anterior placenta (although it’s “not low” according to my notes) so won’t be upset if you all shoot me down!

That's exactly how I explained it to my hubby last night!
Mine have been getting stronger and stronger each evening when I lay down after dinner. Still bubbles though, I wouldn't say it feels like a kick just yet...

CatMad22 · 30/12/2022 17:18

@Awkwardusername I've had exactly the same! My husband put his head on my belly two nights ago and there was definitely a big 'pop'

lmw88 · 30/12/2022 17:50

Joining the 20wk scanners. Had mine today thankfully all could be seen and looks well. Such a relief I was quite nervous beforehand. I have a low anterior placenta so back in 8 wks for rescan. Sonographer said it was fairly common and hopefully should rectify itself..

Yes! It feels like it's way too low for it to be baby. I've also got an anterior placenta so haven't felt anything past a few bubbles yet and I'm 21+6

Hannah310523 · 31/12/2022 03:32

I’m 19 weeks on Tuesday, is anyone still getting sickness at this stage? I feel sick all the time and this has been constant since 1st trimester, I’ve tried lots of tablets from the GP but nothing works! Getting fed up now x
