Hi @Bananabreakfast123, I haven't received it yet but I've asked for the V-Shape Support Pillow by Silent Night for Christmas - it's about £13 on Amazon and the reviews are decent.

I think I've got this one and it does the trick.

harriethb · 23/12/2022 21:31

Yay for boys!

They didn’t mention PAPP-A I don’t think - it’s to do with the blood flow into the uterus. I’m not sure that’s the same thing?

Blue2020 · 23/12/2022 23:25

My 20 week scan went well, we are having a boy.

The only point is that the placenta is currently over the cervix (and anterior). Hopefully it will move over time, I’m due another scan at 32 weeks to check it’s position then.

Is anyone experiencing increased gas this week? I'm 19 + 2. If I'm not burping, I'm farting and if I'm not doing either of those I'm bloated. Sorry for TMI 🤣 I get starving and then after a few mouthfuls I'm completely full and can't eat anymore. Hoping that this is normal!

Oh god I sound like someone's stepped on a trumpet! I don't really fart in front of DH, even after 10 years together.

It's a tricky situation for sure 😂

MyPurpleHeart · 24/12/2022 08:51

I'm 19 weeks and have a noticeable bump. This is my first, by the afternoon I'm practically waddling! Is this normal?! I feel enormous!

lmw88 · 24/12/2022 11:07

Think I'm finally starting to get little flutters at 20+1 so lovely to feel

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 26/12/2022 10:04

Hey all, Merry Christmas 🎄🎁! How were your celebrations?

Janch13 · 26/12/2022 14:12

@harriethb Oh sorry I just have misread your initial post. Low PAPP-A is related to blood from from the placenta to the baby, so probably different from your issue. Does sound like they were too concerned about it though? Maybe just ask your midwife at your next appt.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas! Whilst out doing some last minute Christmas shopping we bought a few adorable baby grows etc, even though we said we wouldn’t as we already have a tonne of baby boy clothes from our first son 🙈🙈 just couldn’t resist

Melusina123 · 26/12/2022 14:17

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl Happy Christmas! Our day was OK, I had bad neck pain and had to have a lie down, but the little blob was super active all day - clearly a fan of Christmas food! Fielded a lot of comments about my body (tactically chose looser clothes because I don't like people commenting on it) and how partner's grandma could "tell" we're having a boy because the shape of my face. 🙄 We know what we're having but are keeping it secret for now.

How about you?

CatMad22 · 26/12/2022 17:17

@MyPurpleHeart I have to fart otherwise my stomach hurts really bad 🤣 I don't do it in front of anyone apart from my husband though!

CatMad22 · 26/12/2022 17:19

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl Merry Christmas! Mine was good, a quiet one but still felt knackered after cooking the Christmas dinner. I'm happy because I managed to eat decent portions! How about you?

And everyone else? 🎅🏼🎄

RugbyGirl1 · 26/12/2022 19:21

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all had lovely times celebrating. mine was fairly quiet - at the parents so didn't have to lift a finger which was great!

20 weeks scan is on Wednesday. From all my previous scans, my placenta is also anterior and covering the cervix @Blue2020. Have you had much spotting? I had some starting 2 weeks ago, went to EPU for a scan and all fine but had it ever since. Just one of those things apparently!

Blue2020 · 26/12/2022 22:34

@RugbyGirl1 no I haven’t had any bleeding so far. I am on the lookout though. When did you find out? At the 13 week scan I asked about the placenta and they said it would take over soon and my hormones would settle (eg morning sickness). So this is the first time I have found out where it is located.

Irishgirl55 · 27/12/2022 00:53

Hello everyone! Merry Christmas! Just thought I'd say hello. Due May 15th. Had my 20 weeks scan last week and everything looked good. Nice to have somewhere to chat with people all going through the same stages of pregnancy!

raffika · 27/12/2022 07:42

A good Christmas here. We were at my Mum and Dad’s with other family. I found it really tiring, but Boxing Day is made for napping, right?

I had my 20 week scan on 21st. Baby was not cooperating so I need to go back on 6th January as they couldn’t get a close enough look at the heart or the spine, but everything they could see was fine. We’re not finding out the sex - husband would like to know but he knows he’d accidentally blab, and I really want a surprise at the end.

wintersun21 · 27/12/2022 07:48

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope it was good for you. We found out we were having a boy on Christmas Eve!

It's made it feel a bit more real albeit scary because that also means we have a good idea on the name too!

Going to hit the January sales in the New Year and really start the planning.

TheBeesKnee · 27/12/2022 08:29

Christmas was good but difficult. I hosted this year and had 7 to cook for. The turkey gave me hell and my mum got on my nerves trying to do everything when DP and I had an action plan! We had a sulky guest who clearly didn't want to be there and had a face on the entire day 🙄 but everyone else was lovely and we had a good time.

I had swollen feet by the end and slept for 11-12 hours yesterday! Crazy.

20 week scan took place just before Christmas and I found out that I have an anterior placenta, which has made me feel better about the lack of movement I feel. We decided not to find out the sex of the baby, much to my mum's disappointment, who came to Christmas dressed head to toe in pink as she thought we'd do a gender reveal 🤣

Irishgirl55 · 27/12/2022 10:25

Christmas is really tiring. I have an almost 3 year old and although it was very magical as it's the first year he's understood Christmas... I was exhausted come 5pm.

we didn't find out the sex either. Husband is adamant he saw a boy on the scan... but it could have been anything 😂😂.

Bananabreakfast123 · 27/12/2022 10:42

@Irishgirl55 we could barely make out the scan. It's so tricky, we were constantly looking for clues. We were told boy but only after several attempts because he wasn't behaving and spent much of the time with the cord between his legs then legs folded under. We're not convinced what we saw was actually a boy! We've got another scan at 32 weeks and I'm tempted to ask to double check 🤣 hope it's right because we've picked a name (not an easy task with a DH who likes only two boys names in the world), have begun collecting lots of little blue things and started bonding with baby boy.

Christmas is so tiring though, you're right. I missed having a glass of fizz and cured meats but being pregnant gave me an excuse to have cake for breakfast and everyone was like well if it's what baby wants!

Irishgirl55 · 27/12/2022 10:58

@Bananabreakfast123 😂😂😂. This one is def more of a wriggler than my first. I had to keep moving positions so that he could get clear views of heart and lungs.

Aww a wee boy is lovely! My first is almost 3. I don't mind what we have this time.

Definitely missed my Gin this year... but stocking up for May! 😂

RugbyGirl1 · 27/12/2022 18:06

@Blue2020 I found out at the 12 week scan, confirmed at a private scan at 16 weeks and an EPU scan at 18 weeks where it was still fully covering the cervix. In something like 90% of cases the placenta moves up out of the way by itself so fingers crossed it does! I'll find out tomorrow if anything has changed but I'm still spotting so guess not.... I also think baby may be transverse at the moment, I felt some bubbles this morning but right over on my left side where I'm guessing the placenta isn't!

Had a small bucks fizz on Christmas day to celebrate - my family are all big drinkers 😁

raffika · 27/12/2022 19:46

I’m 21+1 with my first baby… am I the only one not feeling movement?

At my 20w scan on Wednesday, the baby did a couple of big movements, going from on its back to on its tummy and back again, and I didn’t feel a thing.

The sonographer told me it’s nothing to worry about, everyone is different, and the baby definitely was moving. I just feel like I’m missing out 😬

Irishgirl55 · 27/12/2022 19:51

@raffika with my first I didn't feel movement until 22/23 weeks. This time I've felt it a bit earlier. But mostly flutters or bubbles.

I think they say first movements from anywhere between 16 and 24 weeks! So still plenty of time! Won't be long until you a feeling big kicks especially when trying to sleep 😂

Myotherusernameisaferrari · 27/12/2022 20:27

I've had movements from about 18 weeks but twins so much more in there! We had our 20 week scan today - all going absolutely perfectly touch wood and found out what we're having.

i83 · 27/12/2022 20:31

@raffika I’m 22+1 and I’m not feeling any movement yet so try not to worry.

I have however got some pain low down on bump. No spotting or discharge or anything so I’m trying not to fret about it too much.

We’re moving house tomorrow so I think I’ve just been overdoing things a bit!
