@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl DO IT! Don't let your anxiety hold you back anymore, I know it's easier said then done... trust me 🤦🏻‍♀️ But even though with mine there isn't a difference, I could also miss when there is because it's my body and any small changes I don't think I'd notice until I fully blossom. Let it become a positive experience every week and embrace it!

MommaSmith · 15/12/2022 20:40

This is my first baby but 4th pregnancy

What I noticed is the more times I concieved the quicker my bump grew

One I had before at 11w was quite small, semi notiable bloat if I wore a tight top

This time im 18w tomorrow and I showed a visible bump by 9 or 10 weeks (but I do think it was mainly bloat as by the morning it was very slightly smaller)

Saw my partners parents a few days ago and his mum said she was my size just before she gave birth (so now I am worried I am going to be massive and not be able to walk by the end 😅)

I cant wear my jacket as its too tight and only my brothers tracksuits fit me. Waiting on my maternity clothes to arrive 😌 ordered at the start of November because I am literally recycling the same tracksuit and pyjamas every day - still not arrived (Shein). Luckily I got a nightee from Dorothy Perkins otherwise id be sleeping nakkey

I am yet to feel movements though

I thought I felt a push the other day but convinced it was just trapped wind (I am constantly burping in the evening)

MommaSmith · 16/12/2022 00:19

Its nearly half 12
Been in bed since 10:30

Cant sleep and now someone tried to start an argument on Facebook with me 🙃 now im too worked up 😬

I’m 19+4, first pregnancy. I was sat chatting to my secretary on Monday and she was remarking how you can’t tell I’m pregnant… by the time I left the office yesterday, she was like “wow, where has that bump come from” 🤣 It just seems to have appeared virtually overnight!

As long as we’re healthy and our babies are healthy, doesn’t matter what size our bumps are. I’m sure bumps come in all shapes and sizes, just like women do 🙂

lmw88 · 16/12/2022 09:03

I would definitely say a persistent bump is now appearing. It does still appear to go up and down a little.....usually bigger in the evenings. I look forward to Friday as it's another week for me....19wks today. Haven't felt any movement yet....there's been moments when I think hmm was the something but nothing definitive!

Melusina123 · 16/12/2022 13:14

Just had my 20w scan, everything looking great. So relieved ♥️

Flowersflowers121 · 16/12/2022 16:16

Yayyy @Melusina123 :) congrats!! X

Had my 20 week scan today and we are having a baby boy! 💙 I’m actually 19 weeks tomorrow but it was nice to have before Christmas! Crazy to think I am nearly halfway there! I have felt a few movements and turns out I have a posterior placenta!

CatMad22 · 16/12/2022 16:25

@Melusina123 congrats! Did you find out what you're having?

The bump conversation has made me feel so much better - no one in my family has been pregnant for years/we don't speak often and no close friends have had kids yet so I can't ask anyone I know really.

Melusina123 · 16/12/2022 16:25

@Flowersflowers121 thank you! 💃 It feels like such a milestone, everything feels more concrete. Little bub was wiggling around so much but still being very stubborn about moving into a position where the sonographer could get photos of their heart, or a good profile pic for us to take home. But we got to see them kick me a few times, and swallow some amniotic fluid, which was cool. Our trust usually charges for pictures, but she said she'd just give us them because they weren't very good - but I think they're perfect so that worked out well. 💓

Melusina123 · 16/12/2022 16:29

@CatMad22 we did, bit we're not telling anyone. :) But it was what I was expecting, just had a vibe about it. Just pleased to know, it all feels more real now.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 16/12/2022 16:50

ended up calling midwife unit today as I was just so anxious about no belly, no movement. They were so so nice, said that's totally normal but pop in, had a feel of uterus and a wee listen to heartbeat 💓 and all is looking well. Said they can feel uterus is plenty sized but sitting quite upright in my body and it's still early days for both bump and movement. Said bump by 24wks, movement by 22 ish is the usual FTM guidelines.

@Melusina123 @Laura993 great all scans went well!

Ahhh that's lovely they let you hear the heartbeat! Mustve felt like such a weight off your shoulders.

I keep thinking I feel movement!! Literally like a poke or something in the same spot but what if it's just gas 😭 honestly this is so difficult. Just waiting for that 20 weeks scan

Jaymar · 17/12/2022 08:48

Hi everyone 👋🏼 I’m 16+4 so very late to the party. I’m due on 30th May and also have a 13 month old daughter.

I’ve been feeling the baby move since 12 weeks which was surprising but has been really nice as it takes away that urge to have extra scans.

I have low PAPP-A in this pregnancy so hoping growth is on track at my 20 week scan.

I’ve also got HG but I am starting to feel a bit better thankfully. Need to be better by Christmas so I can eat my body weight in turkey.

That must be really nice and reassuring for you - so glad that your midwives were positive and supportive too. Hopefully that can take away a bit of your anxiety and you can enjoy the run up to your next scan - when is your 20 weeks?

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 17/12/2022 08:59

Next week @harriethb 🙈 I know I'm daft for getting so anxious when it's so soon. @Jaymar welcome!

Janch13 · 17/12/2022 18:53

Welcome @Jaymar I have low PAPP-A too and also my 2nd pregnancy.

Hope you’re feeling better! I have some residual nausea but nothing as bad as the 1st trimester.

i have got terrible heartburn - anyone else? Docs would prescribe me anything so will just have to get some Gaviscon

Appleby11 · 17/12/2022 23:26

Hello.

I've not joined in before but am also due May 2023. I've had a few scans now (we're IVF) all of which have been fine, but still not had the opportunity to hear the heartbeat! I've asked at a few scans and appointments and been told they don't do it yet (I'm 17 weeks). Am I being fobbed off a bit? I just want to hear it! 🤣

Thank you!

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 18/12/2022 02:03

@Appleby11 most trusts don't offer it until the 22 or even 28week midwife appt. I was extremely surprised that I was offered it at 16 and 18 weeks - both times they said shouldn't be really doing this and don't be surprised if we get to hear nothing. Our scans don't do Hb listen at all.

Welcome to the club ☺️

lmw88 · 18/12/2022 08:14

@Appleby11 when I had my 16wk midwife appt (I was 17+1) I had asked the question about when we could hear the heartbeat. She said at next appt at 25wks. She explained that it can be difficult to locate earlier than this which then it turn can lead to a lot of anxiety for mum if that's the case. I think I would be one of those that would overthink it if they couldn't find it.

Hey I got offered it at my 16 week appointment and have heard it at my 12 and 20 week scans.
I guess every hospital is different?

OptimusPrime31 · 18/12/2022 15:03

I'm 20weeks today and my nausea has come back overnight! Had this happened to anyone else? Did it subside again after a bit? Just in time for Xmas haha

harriethb · 18/12/2022 16:10

Not daft at all! The run up to scans is such a mixture of emotions. Hopefully you can feel a bit more relaxed ahead of this one now :)

MommaSmith · 18/12/2022 22:44

Whats everyone's thoughts on side sleeping?

I always sleep on my left but since 12w I have favoured my right. Just more comfort and feels less pressure

But I read in some places its bad to sleep on your right but other sites say its fine?
