@dresslol Most commercial airlines accept pregnant travellers up to 36 weeks.
Not sure where the worry about flying in your 20 weeks has come from 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ahh all the holidays are making me jealous! I think we might do Centre Parcs next year.. not quite the Maldives 😂

I totally also relate to the checking the toilet paper.. I am over 16 weeks now but I still am so anxious! Wonder when it will stop haha.

My DD has been sent home from nursery today with suspected scarlet fever also so now I’m worried about her too!!

Zaalfruit · 21/12/2022 03:28

@Brownsauce89 oh no - I hope your dd is alright . Can she be seen by the doctors if it’s suspected scarlet fever?

All this talk of holidays is making me jealous- I’m determined to go on holiday this pregnancy! It’s our 5 year wedding anniversary in April and we were going to go to travel Asia - however I don’t think I can manage it.

I am thinking somewhere closer but it just won’t be warm in March / April - in Europe . I don’t fancy doing Spain either . I went there in my first trimester and I was so sick - so feel a bit put off. Went Lanzarote last year - DD loved it , but it was so windy and cold.

Randomly all my sickness has disappeared and it’s making me anxious. I can’t believe I am even saying that !

Brownsauce89 · 21/12/2022 09:42

@Zaalfruit thank you! We’ve got some antibiotics, feel very lucky to have been seen and got some so fast.

@dresslol @HalWin2221 @tigerlily0 @firsttimelondonmummy thanks for your kind words, taking it a day at a time.

tigerlily0 · 21/12/2022 17:22

I spoke to my mw today and she said travel between 28-36 weeks is at ur own risk and can't get a letter off them /dr to say ure ok to fly. Then she said to check with airline, but yea I think generally up until 36 weeks there's not a problem on the logistical side of things.

I personally don't want to do long distance due to dvt risks but also cos of my SPD I can barely sit on a chair to work long enough let alone flight!

HasHus86 · 21/12/2022 17:54

Hi,
Just wanted to hop on and say that I had my 12 week scan today and everything went really well! I’m measuring 12+6 weeks with a due date of 29th June! I’m one of the ones whose due right at the end of June. Any due date buddies?

Good morning all👋

Grateful to have found this thread!

A little background on me - I'm originally from the UK but been living abroad for nearly 13 years now, currently in Cyprus which is where I'm going to stay I hope. I have an 8 year old daughter already and now pregnant with a second daughter, at 15 weeks (+1) and due date 15th of June. Anyone due on the same date?

I have a scan booked for tomorrow so hoping to get a decent picture of the little one!

B1993 · 22/12/2022 08:17

@HasHus86, congrats on your scan! 🥰 Will you be finding out baby's gender?

@ManedWolf, welcome and congrats on your pregnancy! 🤗 Good luck with your scan today - I love seeing all of these lovely pictures! 😍

I'm beginning to feel a bit more human this morning after a couple of bad days with covid. 😷 Which, coincidentally, was really making me anxious about the baby as I'd not felt any movement in a few days! I felt baby yesterday though, wriggling away, so I'm beginning to feel a little bit more relaxed.

I'm gutted that I'm going to have to rearrange my midwife appointment today, as I was really hoping to hear the heartbeat with the doppler!

I hope everyone else is doing well. 😊

WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay · 22/12/2022 09:48

@B1993 I am glad you are feeling better

B1993 · 22/12/2022 12:33

I've spoken to my midwife this morning who was very lovely about my appointment and rescheduled it for next Sunday (New Years of all days!) at the hospital. She is also booking me in for a consultation appointment following my 20 week scan to go over it and check covid hasn't impacted the pregnancy negatively 😬 I never tested my temp but haven't once felt unusually warm (or cold), unlike DH who was like a furnace in bed a few nights ago, so assuming that's all been normal.

Kelvie103 · 22/12/2022 15:56

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me jumping on this late. I'm just coming up to 14 weeks, due date 24th June. It's my first pregnancy after IVF. I've been following this thread for a while but not wanted to post as I've been so anxious about something going wrong. I think due to my age, I'm 38 and my husband is 53, I just kept thinking that would hamper things. Still feeling a bit anxious but all going well so far, had my 12 week scan and got my low risk down's syndrome results back last week. We've just told family and friends etc recently and I think that's what's made it more real for us! Not really had many symptoms apart from a bit of nausea and absolutely horrendous acne!

I really want to find out baby's gender but my husband was initially dead set on it being a surprise when it's born. I'm working on him though! Yesterday he promised me he'd think about it over Christmas and said he was starting to wonder too and might be persuaded :D It wouldn't feel right finding out without him so it's either we both know or neither but I hate surprises and it's winding me up thinking I could have known by now but don't. (We had the nipt blood test at 10 weeks and I thought I would be ok with not knowing but I'm too curious now baby is looking like an actual baby!)

Algor1thm · 23/12/2022 07:30

Hi everyone 👋🏻 We found out yesterday we are having a second little boy 💙 Which I already basically knew from the 12 week scan! Tbh a little sad that I'll never have a girl (this is definitely our last baby) but obviously very happy with a healthy baby and excited for my son to have a brother! Think I'm going to buy them some matching outfits to help me get more excited about it! Can't wait to reveal to our families on Christmas Day 😊

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 23/12/2022 08:27

@Algor1thm Congrats on your little boy! Lovely little brother for yours. I really feel mines a boy. I'll find out next week on 31st hopefully.

Got my consultant app today this morning so DH and I will hopefully get more info on what's happening. I'm 15+5 now. Feeling a little movement inside but so slight. Nothing on outside yet.

B1993 · 23/12/2022 08:40

@Kelvie103, congrats!

My friend had a surprise with both her babies. She lovelies the experience so, if you decide to go down that route, I'm sure it'll be an incredible way to find out.

I'm super impatient though (and not too keen on surprises) so I like to find out at the earliest opportunity. With DS I found out through a private gender scan and this baby I did the sneak peek at 6 weeks!! I love knowing personally, as it helps me build a bond with baby.

@Algor1thm, I'm in the exact same position... would have LOVED a little girl after DS (this baby is also our last) but have been blessed with another son. Obviously super happy as long as baby is healthy, but it's still disappointing that I won't ever get that experience of a mother/daughter relationship.

@BellaTheDarkOverlord, good luck with appointment today!

I felt lots of movement yesterday while lying down watching the TV - I could have swore I felt it on my hand too at times! 🥰

Hlc86 · 23/12/2022 16:26

Welcome to all new members, never to late to join as we are all in the same boat 😊

Brownsauce89 · 23/12/2022 19:33

Congratulations to everyone who has had scans recently! I’m also in the find out the gender camp.. as I’m too impatient

We are having a little boy 💙 I’m still not announcing widely until after the 20 week scan as I’m so anxious but was so lovely to tell my family.

Zaalfruit · 23/12/2022 20:34

Congrats on everyone finding out the gender !! I have to wait till Jan and I don’t even know but I’m so anxious about it.

Zaalfruit · 23/12/2022 20:36

Had anyone bought anything …? The sales are so tempting . However I feel like I should wait .

HalWin2221 · 23/12/2022 22:00

@Zaalfruit ive bought a prep machine (second hand) and my mum and dad got a Moses basket as it was free! So I’m only buying the bargains, which means I probably will in the sales! After having 2 MC, now I’m 14 weeks I’m really trying to let myself enjoy it and not over think that I am ‘jinking’ things! X

Zaalfruit · 23/12/2022 22:52

@HalWin2221 thats a great way of looking at it ! And I’m so happy for you x

The next sale starts I think at 4am online and then in store from the 27th . The baby collection is good quality and multiple washes won’t discolour or ruin the outfits ! I think I am going to get some essentials.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 23/12/2022 22:55

Consultant went fine. They want to do more growth scans at like 24, 28, 32 and 36 weeks and also add in a Doppler uterine doppler test at 20 weeks. I think this is for the preeclampsia. They said they'll try for natural birth but see nearer time if it'll be caesarean.

B1993 · 24/12/2022 08:19

@Brownsauce89, congrats on your boy! 💙

@Zaalfruit, I've bought a couple of bits from the supermarket - which have also been picked up cheaply.

Other than new clothes, the main bits I need is a next to me crib, baby carrier and possibly swing (we have a bouncer from our first but not a swing). A couple of people have recommended that I check Marketplace or Gumtree etc. rather than buying new (I'm fine with that) so I've been keeping an eye out, but not bought any of the above yet. Unless I see an absolute steal, I won't be buying those bigger purchases until after my 20w scan mid Jan, which, in the grand scheme of things, isn't long to go now!

B1993 · 24/12/2022 08:26

@BellaTheDarkOverlord, I'm glad the appointment went well overall. Not a bad thing to have extra scans - more opportunity to check in on baby. 🥰 Have they confirmed you have preeclampsia or are you at risk of it? Sorry if you've mentioned before - I may have just missed it.

I hope everyone else is doing well! 😊 I'm 17w today - I still have a bit of a cough from covid but overall doing ok 👍🏻

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 24/12/2022 09:15

@B1993 No worries! At risk as I got it in my last pregnancy. I'm also trying to get over a cough. Had it weeks now.
