I e got a snuzpod 3 and I’m just buying a new mattress for it

Cdoc · 13/10/2022 17:08

@botleybump ooh I didn’t know it’s discounted on Amazon! It’s so hard to know whether Black Friday will be any better, that feels like a really good price!

botleybump · 13/10/2022 17:10

@Cdoc it is! We're waiting for the pram and nursery furniture as we've spoken to retailers who suggested huge discounts between Black Friday and Christmas, but the smaller purchases are so hard to judge and I'm not sure I want to spend a whole day searching online and battling stock issues 😅

botleybump · 13/10/2022 17:10

@Room4onemore thanks! Good to know they last well too.

LittleAcorn20 · 13/10/2022 17:12

We have an icandy peach which we used until around 14 months with our little one.
Then we bought a second hand Mamas and Papas one second hand because we liked the stroller part and it was less bulky to got in the car.
If you're near a decent John Lewis would highly recommend booking one of their baby appointments to help decide on bigger items like car seats, prams, next to me cots etc. We found it so informative and the lady was so helpful and not at all sales-y or pushy. We walked away after nearly two hours advice and bought only a couple of little bits (a nail care kit and a jelly cat teddy if I remember right). We then went for lunch and had a browse for the items online while we did to see if/where they could be cheaper...but did end up getting the pram from John Lewis because they had the best deals and the colour we liked in stock.
The best thing we did!!

LittleAcorn20 · 13/10/2022 17:17

Dreamingof3 · 13/10/2022 17:48

I bought a second hand snuzpod...definitely worth looking what's around. Brand new condition with bedding etc for £50! Baby no.3 I refuse to pay some of the prices they want for things that won't be used for that long

allthingssparkly · 13/10/2022 18:16

We have bought the snuzpod 4 bundle, with the white noise cloud, mattress protector, mattress sheets ect too! It was on offer in the last BH sale for less than £200.

I'm sure it will be on offer again for Black Friday.

botleybump · 13/10/2022 16:42

Can't speak for them all, but my brother in law has a blue one for their little one (now 15 months) and they constantly tell us we HAVE to have one.
Theirs still looks brand new and has been on many a woodland walk and put in the street miles for an active couple.

We're tempted by the Bugaboo Fox 3 as the hood comes right down over the pram (lowest we've seen) which we feel might be useful for days out with family etc.

@botleybump whats the advantage of this type of hood? (Genuinely asking as hadn't considered this).

TeddyBeans · 13/10/2022 20:14

DD did not play ball at the scan today! She had her legs up by her face and wouldn't move them no matter how hard I wriggled/jumped. Also kept her legs firmly together so they couldn't confirm gender either. Got a rescan coming so they can check for facial anomalies - hopefully 🤦‍♀️

For anyone interested. The snuzpod 4 is currently on offer on the bounty app for £189.99 it's a bundle comes with bedding etc.
But second baby here so just like @Dreamingof3 I have snapped up a second hand one on vinted for £50. New mattresses can be bought for around £30 if wanted.

TeddyBeans · 13/10/2022 20:15

@Choc2022 the bigger the hood, the more you can protect them from the sun/elements. DS' silver cross had a hood that only went up 90° and he was constantly being blinded by the sun while in the carry cot

I have the venicci travel system from my first. I must say I'd never heard of it before we bought it but it's got such good handling/ suspension and it a good all rounder I'd really recommend looking at it if you have any pram shops near you.

Just gonna use that for baby 2 and maybe buy an out n about double

Cams50 · 13/10/2022 21:26

@BabyNumber3OnTheWay huge congratulations!

@TeddyBeans aww that’s a shame! But I’m some ways nice that you get to see baby again soon!

I also had my 20 week scan today and found out we’re having a boy 🥰💙

BabyNumber3OnTheWay · 14/10/2022 00:10

@Cams50 amazing 🤩 congratulations to you too. Thank you all for my congratulations, I’m really really happy 😊

alotoftutus · 14/10/2022 02:16

It's 2.11am and I'm sat up eating digestive biscuits! I was so ill today - well yesterday now, I could barely eat anything and when I did it didn't stay down.
I went to bed early and was fast asleep by 9pm. Now I've woken up bloody starving. My appetite seems to be getting bigger the last week or two (I'm 18 weeks on Sunday) but I'm still struggling to eat. I'm trying to do little and often but when I get hungry I'm sick and when I eat I'm sick! Can't stand this much longer. Anyone else still poorly or having a live hate relationship with food and hunger right now!

iratepirate · 14/10/2022 06:23

@alotoftutus yes, I’m finding this a real struggle too. I’m never hungry, always feel sick. Ugh.

Ubbee · 14/10/2022 06:30

@alotoftutus @iratepirate poor you that sounds so rough. My appetites up and down too but no sickness now. Hope it passes for you both soon.

I seem to have developed pregnancy insomnia and have seen 4am in everyday this week. So tired 😴 anyone else getting this or any tips?
Ive never struggled with sleep before.

Looking forward to 20wk scan later this morning though 🤞🏻🙂

LaForza101 · 14/10/2022 09:57

@Ubbee I'm also getting up around 4-5am every morning and struggling to go back to sleep. I'm still going to bed fairly early at 10. Maybe that's just a pregnancy habit I've picked up and I should stay up longer now to get a better sleep.

botleybump · 14/10/2022 09:58

@Choc2022 we figured it would keep the elements (sun, wind, rain etc) off of her, but would also give some privacy, light and sound protection, which may support out and about naps.

We have my step son (5) 50:50 and are usually active/out and about in the woods etc with him - would like to limit him feeling like baby has dampened his days out so some pram napping would be ideal!
My partner had the Egg with his first and said the limited hood made this very challenging.

ChristmasJumpers · 14/10/2022 10:59

I forgot to place mark and have missed a lot but think I'll just go from here haha

@alotoftutus I am not feeling sick anymore (unless I'm hungry) but still having lots of aversions and bad indigestion & constipation so I hate eating! I just want to want a pizza again 😂

I was randomly sick on Tuesday but hadn't been for a few weeks before that. I'm blaming the indigestion I think.

How is everyone's bump progression? I think I'm ready to admit that I have one but it's tricky as it went straight from IVF bloat into bump so I never saw the progression

SammyJay5 · 14/10/2022 11:33

Not long got back from my 20 week scan… in the exact words of the sonographer “you have a very awkward baby!” 😂🤦🏽‍♀️ Baby was facing downwards with their legs crossed and even after lots of wiggling and dancing around the room would not move anything apart from their arms! But finally after 3 attempts he saw we have a very healthy baby girl! 🥰💖

havanamama · 14/10/2022 11:41

@ChristmasJumpers mine is growing, but with the increased bloating and gassiness, it’s hard to tell what is the baby and what’s air and water retention 🤷‍♀️

Congratulations!!

Our little lady was very compliant, but my Mum seems pretty sure that won't last if she's anything like me as a child 😅

Dreamingof3 · 14/10/2022 12:28

@SammyJay5 congratulations 💗

@ChristmasJumpers I am definitely starting to see a difference now (18 weeks Sunday!) But as I'm a bit fat anyway with a c section hang 😒 I don't think you could tell I was pregnant if ypu didn't know already
