@LaForza101 I had exactly the same thought! I keep falling asleep so early. I tried to stay up later last night but it didn’t make any difference 😐

congratulations @SammyJay5 !
we found out we are having a little boy this morning! 💙💙💙 So excited! Now focussed on names! Have many people chosen theirs already?

ChristmasJumpers · 14/10/2022 10:59

I forgot to place mark and have missed a lot but think I'll just go from here haha

@alotoftutus I am not feeling sick anymore (unless I'm hungry) but still having lots of aversions and bad indigestion & constipation so I hate eating! I just want to want a pizza again 😂

I was randomly sick on Tuesday but hadn't been for a few weeks before that. I'm blaming the indigestion I think.

How is everyone's bump progression? I think I'm ready to admit that I have one but it's tricky as it went straight from IVF bloat into bump so I never saw the progression

Zero bump progression, I'm the only person that can tell anything is there and it's only because it's too uncomfortable to close my jeans 🙄 I just look like I've put on a couple lbs, jealous of you all beginning to show!

muminlndn · 14/10/2022 17:07

We are hoping to move in Jan/Feb, and this is second baby, so will probably get most things second hand & fairly last minute 😅

LittleAcorn20 · 14/10/2022 18:23

Congrats @SammyJay5 and @Ubbee
I had my 20 week scan this afternoon too, but keeping things a surprise 💛
Baby was very nestled down in my pelvis and we didn't think we would get all the measurements - but just did!

LaForza101 · 14/10/2022 19:02

Husband made homemade burgers and I ate a few bites before noticing there were bits of pink in the middle. So now I'm going to be fretting about food poisoning and harming the baby 😞

I know red meat is usually okay but that's steaks and not mince. FFS, I don't even eat meat usually!

TeddyBeans · 14/10/2022 19:13

@Ubbee congratulations on your little boy ❤️ we've had our name chosen for about 3 weeks now

So I finally had my gender scan today and we‘re having a girl 💕 All predictions on here and skull theory etc were wrong (shows that it‘s all just guessing really 😂).
I was delighted but DH seemed disappointed and told sonographer ‚oh gosh so many girls in the family’ as his first reaction. This is our first (and we want more) so feeling slightly confused at him not being as excited as I would like him to be……men 🙄

Splashh · 14/10/2022 20:17

Same re bump progression, and I had to vomit this week & bump actually got smaller so it’s all bloat. It’s actually super annoying, 19 weeks & getting comments like ‘oh you don’t look pregnant!’. Trying to ignore it, I’m sure it’ll come eventually and then I won’t be able to take it back 😂

LittleAcorn20 · 14/10/2022 20:27

@LaForza101 I would try not to worry.
It's advised not to due to risk of bacteria, but food production standards in this country are so good, that it'd be rare for something like beef to cause a problem.
Think of how many people you know of who have ever been poorly from steak or rare beef - it's not common.
I wouldn't make a habit of it, but I did eat a bit of rare beef in my last pregnancy as i enjoy it on a roast dinner.

Eastybaby19 · 14/10/2022 21:13

Congratulations on all the scans 💕💙. We've just decided on our boys name 🥰 also bought a 2nd hand nursery set today as my son still uses his and couldn't pass the sale the stuff is immaculate so pleased ☺️☺️

LaForza101 · 14/10/2022 21:45

Thank you @LittleAcorn20. That's comforting to read and I've calmed down a bit now. Hopefully I'll be fine tonight and over the weekend.

SammyJay5 · 14/10/2022 23:56

Thank you everyone 🥰 and congratulations to everyone else who found out the gender today!

@Ubbee we have no idea on girls names… we were so convinced it was a boy that we’d already chosen the name (Oscar) and were referring to baby as “he” all the time 😂🤦🏽‍♀️ x

Choc2022 · 15/10/2022 04:08

Congrats to everyone who have had their scans this week!

I think I've had the names picked out since I was 15 lol. I still like those names as well. Have family events this weekend and haven't told them so will be fun when they speculate if I'm getting even fatter or whether I'm pregs.

Baby2iscooking · 15/10/2022 07:56

Congratulations to all who had their 20 week scans. I have to wait until 10th November for mine! Feels ages away.
I think my sickness has finally gone as I’ve ate so much better the last few days. Still getting daily headaches though and random face pain too

Perexi · 15/10/2022 08:49

Mines not till the 10th either! Feels like a lifetime away 🤣 although it is the day before my birthday so I hope it's good news!

Loving everyone's scan news so lovely to see 🥰

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 15/10/2022 09:12

Ahh so many scans, how exciting. Mines not until 8th November which also feels like an eternity!

iratepirate · 15/10/2022 09:51

Mine’s in a few days. Keeping a surprise though.

I went to a wedding last weekend and it was roast beef which was still quite pink. I was a bit worried but I just tried to eat around the edges and leave most of the pink part 🙈

We still haven’t told anyone so I didn’t want to make a fuss.

Tried to go for my covid booster this morning but they’ve only got the one I’m not able to have. 😔 So, I think I’ll be giving that a miss as the pharmacist was lovely but said they don’t know of any others available anywhere locally.

Oh I didn't realise that you could only have one type if pregnant! I had my flu jab last week but was thinking of booking a covid booster this week.

I spoke to my midwife about the pink meat thing as I was missing steak and 'well done' seems a crime...she said it's okay so long as it's not bleeding. Gave the example that a blushing pink roast was okay, but a steak that bled whilst resting was not.

She did say it's unlikely there'd be a problem given food standards in the UK though.

iratepirate · 15/10/2022 10:55

No, I think all types are safe for pregnant people, but I had a fairly severe side effect to one of them in the past - have been subsequently advised by the cardiologist to avoid that one.

iratepirate · 15/10/2022 10:56

Sorry @Perexi i don’t know why it didn’t reply to you, I thought I’d done that.

@botleybump i did think that since it was a fairly fancy hotel, it would probably be ok.

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 15/10/2022 11:41

Hi all

so I had my quad test last week (baby wasn’t cooperating for the NT measurement at 12 week scan). I was told if there was no news I’d get a letter within 2-3 weeks or if there was “something to discuss” I’d get a call within a few days.

post came this morning with a letter saying my DS result is 1 in 198. I just don’t know how I feel about it, I feel like it’s so different compared to seeing people who’s are in the thousands, but it’s not quite close enough to 1 in 150 to warrant the NHS doing further tests?

DH was ecstatic thinking it was great news and all I’ve done is cry my eyes out since. Debating whether to pay for private NIPT testing but I don’t think that gives you a definitive answer either?

alotoftutus · 15/10/2022 11:47

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark 1 in 198 is a good result. How old are you? I know age massively effects the result. I'm 38 and for my age alone the risk alone was 1 In 170!!
I had the NIPT after a 1 in 6 result and it turned out fine. It doesn't however give you a definite answer - or even a probability just a simple low or high risk answer. The only way to find out for sure is the amniocentesis. When is your 20 week scan - that will also be reassuring for you.

I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. If they thought there was a problem they would be offering you further tests. Xxx

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 15/10/2022 12:10

@alotoftutus Thank you, I’m 31 and this is my first pregnancy which I think makes it worse as I’ve got no idea what to expect. I think the risk for my age is something like 1 in 800, I know my BMI is high so I don’t know if that makes a difference too.

My 20 week scan isn’t until 11th November, it just seems like so far away to wait xx

firstlittleone · 15/10/2022 14:22

We found out the gender of our baby this afternoon and we’re having a little girl 💕! Still hasn’t sunk in yet but we’re both thrilled
