@allthingssparkly I also have bought a pram as I spotted an icandy in an auction for a really good price, so couldn't resist!

Pickles23 · 12/10/2022 09:07

I've just bought one thing so far, the Silvercross voyager cot as it's on sale, and doubles up as a travel cot which we'll need when the baby is still young.

Still trying to decide on a pram and car seat though, the amount of options is overwhelming!

havanamama · 12/10/2022 09:09

Ae have only bought a few clothing items.

Currently finalising the nursery interior design idea.

I have a rough idea for the travel system, for bed, and bouncer we would like, so waiting for Black Friday to see if there’s anything in a good deal.

Perexi · 12/10/2022 09:27

We haven't bought anything yet, ever since we found out we kept saying "well if everything goes to plan" or "if everything works out" trying to not get too excited or jinx anything....and I think we are both too scared to actually buy anything just in case yet 😳 thing's are starting to feel a bit more real now though. 16 weeks today eeek.

iratepirate · 12/10/2022 09:52

Also not bought anything specific for this one yet. I don’t like to get my hopes up after some past experiences.

But, we do have probably everything we’ll need from previous DC.

Dreamingof3 · 12/10/2022 10:04

We bought a snuzpod ages ago as someone local was selling it for a price too good to pass up! And started buying some little clothes. Our next job is to get furniture for the nursery so we have somewhere to keep the clothes and things 😂 (it's currently a spare/dressing room/office so needs some sorting) I think I know what pram we want so keeping an eye out for deals

Also after Christmas plan to start adding nappies/wipes etc to our food shops

Cats23 · 12/10/2022 11:14

I only kept my Mini City Jogger stroller ( I love it) and after #4 arrived, I sold everything!

So..., have started over and luckily, my friend just sold me her Icandy peach pram- cot pram for......£30!!!!!!!!!!
Another friend sold me her car seat base and spare car seat ( I know her very well so its in immaculate condition with no involvement with car accident for example-she only had it for 5months!) I missed out on her 3months old cot-bed that was kept at grandparents house though!
My brother had his first baby 2 days ago (💙) and so I will have his moses basket..., I think the more children I've had, I'm v.aware of what I will need rather that what I think will be needed!

hol92 · 12/10/2022 11:28

got told my placenta is on the outside, how many weeks were you when you started to feel any movement people who also have one :)

haha I also have loads of second hand stuff from my brother and friends :) but we haven’t bought anything yet.. although I’m tempted to buy a few bits 🙈 xx

dmb91 · 12/10/2022 12:02

We're going to look at stuff this afternoon, my parents want to buy the travel system and keep asking which one we want.. 🙄

I'm just waiting for my 16week midwife appointment which was meant to be 15mins ago..
Hopefully not waiting too much longer as the nearest baby shops are an hours drive away from us 🤦‍♀️

Choc2022 · 12/10/2022 12:10

Got given a few things and bought some clothes. When is a good/safe time to buy? Im FTM so will need everything. Im trying to research now and decide what we want and buy black friday or christmas sales.

Do prams go into the black friday sale?

allthingssparkly · 12/10/2022 12:21

Ahh amazing that some of you have already started purchasing, I have too!

Pram and Snuzpod 4, then some baby clothes as and when I've seen things I like.

Hoping the black friday sales has some good offers as and when it comes round as we need all furniture for the nursery 🙈

havanamama · 12/10/2022 12:23

There’s some good stuff in Prime Early Sale already but we want to see stuff in person first

the Black Friday sale is around 25th of November, so will get most things then

Dreamingof3 · 12/10/2022 13:16

@Choc2022 it's hard to decide isn't it, if you've got everything to buy I would start now tbh, spread the cost a bit!

If anyone is looking for a budget friendly travel system I would massively recommend Infababy. They're online only which is a pain but I have 2 friends who bought from there and then I loved them so much I did too, absolutely loved the travel system and it was so much cheaper than a lot of others!

allthingssparkly · 12/10/2022 14:59

Thank you @havanamama I couldnt remember exactly when BF was hopefully there will be some good bargains!

I haven't had a look at the prime early access sale, maybe I will have a nosy at this! X

Baby2iscooking · 12/10/2022 15:29

We have kept everything from DD1 but still want to buy a few new bits. We went to the baby show with dd1 and got lots of bargains there, so worth checking if one is near you

Would you say the infababy is lightweight or heavy duty? I want an all terrain one but im quite short so nothing too bulky either.

Do you remember the discount amount on travel systems/prams/car seats and cots? As in 10%, 20% or more? Did they do offers on display items?

botleybump · 12/10/2022 16:46

We've bought a few bits but nothing huge - we've got everything to buy so are holding out for Black Friday/cyber Monday/Boxing Day and January sales.

We are being strategic and decided the 'what' now though so have been shopping to decide what buggies etc we want so we can set up alerts for those items in sales.

Mamas and Papas Black Friday event starts 14th November in stores, but you have to book an appointment to benefit. We managed to book the last appointment on opening day at our local store and the calendar was pretty full all week so worth checking out!
They're doing up to 40% off most things, their oncarro travel system will be 40% off in certain colours for sure (if the lady was truthful!). Is only while stocks last in store though.

Room4onemore · 12/10/2022 17:11

Does anybody know if icandy have Black Friday sales? I’m going to a baby show on the 4th November so I’m hoping to get a couple of bits from there

Mrs2022 · 12/10/2022 17:15

Hi all, Does anyone have any suggestions for a relatively lightweight car seat that is compatible with an icandy peach 2? I had a Venicci travel system but sold it and replaced for the icandy as I will need the double to accommodate my youngest who will still be under 2.

havanamama · 12/10/2022 17:16

What is a baby show?

Bobduncan · 12/10/2022 17:20

I really recommend checking out auction sites (not ebay, think more of like bargain hunt style auctions 😂). I've picked up loads of warehouse clearance deals, ex display and returns bits perfect for baba. So far all in 100% condition but a third of the price

Dreamingof3 · 12/10/2022 17:35

Choc2022 · 12/10/2022 15:48

There a few models, the one I had was quite lightweight, but also did us nearly 3 years of school runs and countryside walks so quite hard wearing too.

Baby2iscooking · 12/10/2022 17:40

It depends on the brand but we got an iCandy orange for about £200 cheaper. They do ex display too.
we also got a joie swing and they had 15% off.
@havanamama you get tickets and it’s all different brands (mamas and papas, iCandy etc) and you can see and test the products and they give offers and discounts on stuff

havanamama · 12/10/2022 18:01

@Baby2iscooking is this like an EventBrite event for wedding fairs? Or do you book on a specific brand’s website?
