Anyone else really struggling with lack of movements?
I’m nearly 19 weeks, and 2 days ago felt 4 mini kicks, but then since then and before then nothing.
my belly is growing, which is reassuring but god the anxiety this waiting time is giving me 😣 literally daily have to ask my husband to tell me everything is ok and to reassure me I’m not statistically late at feeling anything 🫠

havanamama · 11/10/2022 17:55

maybe those were not kicks at all but just stomach or I imagined it as I’m so impatiently waiting to feel baby

this 8 week wait between scans is too long! I should have done a private one around week 16 to keep my mind at ease 😐

BabyNumber3OnTheWay · 11/10/2022 18:11

Thank you everyone for replies 😊

TeddyBeans · 11/10/2022 18:20

@havanamama not late at all. As long as you start to feel them before 24 weeks you're all good. After that the midwives like to check in on little one to make sure all is well

Thank you for reassurance @TeddyBeans ❤️

TeddyBeans · 11/10/2022 18:48

@havanamama DD went bonkers last night when I ate icecream, might be worth a try to see if you can encourage some movements?

Cdoc · 11/10/2022 18:52

@havanamama I feel like this too, I’m 19+3 and only feeling flutters every now and again (at least I think they are baby). The anxiety is awful, exactly like you say it’s only because my belly is growing I have some reassurance! It’s tough

hol92 · 11/10/2022 19:08

Just back from my scan :) baby boy! 😃💙

Bobduncan · 11/10/2022 19:16

Has anyone got any recommendations for a pregnancy pillow? Feel like I need one soon for my aching back!

hol92 · 11/10/2022 19:57

Has anyone else been with window to the womb ? :) if you have how long did it take to get the code for the photos etc. x

Katlouise24 · 11/10/2022 19:58

@hol92 hi! Ive never waited longer than around 15 /20 minutes for any of mine!

hol92 · 11/10/2022 20:00

Ah my appt was nearly two hours ago :/ I did choose to have a movie too but don’t think that would make a difference x

havanamama · 11/10/2022 20:02

@Bobduncan I have the Pharmedoc U-shape organic pregnancy pillow, ordered on Amazon, and I love it. Can take the organic fabric off to wash.
we have a super king bed, so it fits perfectly, if we had a smaller bed, I would have gone with a smaller pillow probably.

Katlouise24 · 11/10/2022 20:07

@hol92 I usually get the video too! Id say if you don't get them by the morning to give them a ring...sometimes mine go into my junk folder! Have you checked there?x

hol92 · 11/10/2022 20:11

@Katlouise24 I was worried that they didn’t have the right email but I got my confirmation through the other day so they must do, yeah I have checked in there :( maybe I’m just being impatient haha! I just want to watch him again 🙈 I will give them a call in the morning if I don’t have it by then - thank you :) x

I got a v shape one and it's not great so don't recommend one of those. I had a long bolster cushion last time that was much better. Just long and straight. I don't think you need a specific pregnancy pillow as such, both mine came from Dunelm for around £20

It might be because it was an evening appointment. Give it til the morning then give them a call if you haven't had anything through

Hi all, had my consultant appointment today, she saw how anxious I was so she listened to the heartbeat for me 😊 I’ve got a GTT next week, clinic review at 24 weeks and a growth scan at 28 weeks and another GTT lol

LittleAcorn20 · 11/10/2022 21:44

I'm interested in home birth.
Has anyone had one previously.
This is my second baby and we are 35mins away from the hospital on a good run, but down a stretch of motorway notorious for jams which could drastically increase journey time or leave me to deliver baby in an M5 standstill! Add this to needing to get DD to someone to look after before going in AND labour progressing quickly with her birth. These are my primary reasons for wanting to stay at home.

I'd be so interested to hear anyone's positive stories who's had one.

I'm also hoping consultant will give me the option too as I'm high risk due to low BMI, but I can't understand or see why low BMI adds any risk factor into place of birth 🤷‍♀️ again, anyone know? I'm seeing them on 31st October for first time so going to chat it through there.

Me too. Last few night's i've put a reg pillow between my thighs and one under my bump so im 'cushioned' in and its been a lot more comfortable. Wondering whether to continue like that or get a specific preg pillow.

alotoftutus · 11/10/2022 23:10

@LittleAcorn20 hi I've had 3 home births and they've been honestly just wonderful. I'm falling asleep but nudge me tomorrow if I forget to come back to the post to answer properly. Happy to answer any questions.

For me a homebirth is just the most natural relaxed and comfortable way to give birth & there is nothing quite like it. Plus getting into your own bed afterwards AND not having to stay on a postnatal ward is just heaven ❤️

iratepirate · 12/10/2022 05:56

I’m also leaning towards a home birth, I think. Haven’t seen anyone yet who I can speak to about it. The main reason is not having anyone to watch DC for us.

LittleAcorn20 · 12/10/2022 07:13

Oooh yes, please share @alotoftutus when you get a moment.
Things I worry about and would like to understand better are ...
I think to try and relax/zone into labour I'd need DD out the house still, so would prob arrange for someone to still come and collect her - but so many have their kids around and say it's lovely to all be together - did you have your other child(ren) in the house? If she was there I'd feel worried it was traumatising her to see mummy in pain.
Also, the mess?!?! I'd prob hire a pool and try and stay in there as much as possible, in the tiled kitchen/conservatory. But the rest of the house is carpeted! What do you do to prevent the mess?

allthingssparkly · 12/10/2022 07:57

Glad I'm not the only one who hasn't had their results back for tests they've had, I will just hang on till my appointment on Monday they've probably got my results just not uploaded them to badger net as someone has to physically go on and do it 🙈 hopefully I'll know more next week, not long to go now.

Who has started making baby purchases yet? 👣

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 12/10/2022 08:46

@allthingssparkly We bought our pram a bit spur of the moment last night, we'd been looking at the Mamas and Papas Occarro bundle and I saw on the Bounty app an offer for over 54% off it was too good not to! I was a bit worried it was a bad omen to order it so early but saving over £700 was a no-brainer. I think I'm just going to ask my mum to store it when it comes so its not in my house.
