Tonight I have really bad lower back pain, stomach ache and pains in my hips! Wondering if it's wind? It's just really worrying every little feel I get

TeddyBeans · 12/11/2022 22:23

@ChristmasJumpers lovely scan pic 🥰

TeddyBeans · 12/11/2022 22:25

@Babynum2 sounds like it could be wind, yes. If it continues though I'd get checked out, might be sciatica or something (I don't know, I never had it or PGP)

So I was doing some research on preeclampsia today and apparently protein in urine can be signs of other things too - minor infections, fever, dehydration etc. I've had a beast of a cold this week that started to fully come out Monday evening (after my mw appt) so wondering if this protein is actually not the beginnings of preeclampsia after all. Will be interesting to see if I still have it at my next appointment

Oh I had PE in first pregnancy ( resulted in DD born at 27weeks) Ive been monitored heavily and consultant led the past 4x pregnancies as a result and Ive not ever really been told ot could be an infection ect before.
I hope it is that and not start of PE for you.

LaForza101 · 13/11/2022 09:10

I had an incredibly rough day yesterday. I couldn't keep water down and had to be put on an IV drip for dehydration. No sign of infection but I haven't had morning sickness since week 13 and even then it was mild. Nervous about hyperemesis gravidarum starting in second trimester. Really hoping it was a one time thing

Babynum2 · 13/11/2022 09:25

@TeddyBeans thanks I think it was I woke up feeling OK!

Ive had protein in my wee every app due to HG x

LifeOfRiley1 · 13/11/2022 19:47

Has anyone started buying things for baby? I’ve held off as I’m so worried I could ‘jinx’ myself, as ridiculous as that sounds?? But I bought an outfit today, and also some muslins so that I can start getting necessities together slowly. I’m now freaking out that I’ve done something wrong…
We have an appointment at John Lewis next week to look at prams as I was planning on buying one in Black Friday sales and keeping it at my mums, but I’m even worried about that now

havanamama · 13/11/2022 20:21

@LifeOfRiley1 We also have an appointment at John Lewis booked for the transportation / sleeping goods.

I’ve got given loads of clothes, and bought white basics from M&S, so not much left clothing wise to buy apart from sleep-suits.

Regarding bathing and feeding I’m yet to do more research.

Babynum2 · 13/11/2022 20:53

@LifeOfRiley1 I'm done! To be fair I already had clothes, Doona buggy and swing. I've got everything now I'm so paranoid baby 3 will be earlier than baby 1 and 2 (36 and 34 weeks).

ChristmasJumpers · 13/11/2022 21:05

We started buying after our gender scan, we've got quite a bit now but I'm not a believer in jinxing things. We have a pram/travel system in the loft and the cot and wardrobe flat packed until the nursery is decorated! I'm a spreadsheet geek though so it's been nice logging what we've got/still need

MattyM5 · 13/11/2022 21:48

Hi Ladies, is anyone using pregnancy bands? not the proper medical belts, but the bands you wear under clothing (if I got the distinction right). My bump is suddenly getting really big and I‘m wondering if it’s time to invest in some!

Perexi · 13/11/2022 22:48

My mum has bought over a few very cute little outfit's for the little man and it has genuinely made it so much more real that we are going to hopefully have a baby 🤣

We are going to John Lewis in a few weeks to look at prams. We are still trying to figure out what is actually needed can definitely tell it's our first! We have booked in for NCT classes.

Cats23 · 14/11/2022 00:27

I have a travel system, a moses basket and swing chair (Latter 2 are promised after my newborn nephew grows out of them!) I had a stroller in attic from last Dc ( kept because I love it!!) As this is baby #5, I feel I know what is needed and not.
Will start buying clothes ect when we find out sex in a few weeks.

dmb91 · 14/11/2022 05:59

I have a few bits gathering that we've been given and people keep asking what they can buy us but as this is baby #1 we're kinda clueless about what we need!
We have chosen the travel system, my parents want to buy it for us. MIL seems a bit offended that we haven't thought of a big purchase for her to get us yet.
Clothes wise I'm just going to get a few packs of the basics, vests, sleepsuits, to see us few the first few weeks as I'm sure people will buy us loads of stuff and we're not finding out the sex until birth so I know my mum and mil will go mad on blue/pink once little one is here!

TeddyBeans · 14/11/2022 07:02

We only had a cot and clothes to buy for DD, everything else has been kept from DS. The cot came on Friday and we're steadily collecting clothes as we go.

Tiny only had a little wriggle yesterday, nothing like her usual activity. Well aware it's still early days and she might have found a space under my placenta but I might have to phone up later if I don't feel her much today

OP posts:
LittleAcorn20 · 14/11/2022 07:16

@MattyM5 I am using one and it's brilliant!
Have been struggling with pelvic pain.

LittleAcorn20 · 14/11/2022 07:29

@MattyM5 brand is BabyGo
Only very slightly annoying thing is needing a wee every 5 mins and having to take it off and on again 😂

Room4onemore · 14/11/2022 07:37

Asda have 20% off some baby clothes if it’s any good for anyone

Franklin321 · 14/11/2022 07:48

@TeddyBeans I had this yesterday, didn’t feel her much at all and was a bit worried but still early so tried to just keep busy. Then later on after a busy day, tea, bath and bedtime for toddler I finally sat down and she went mad! Hope she wriggles away soon for you 🤞

iratepirate · 14/11/2022 07:51

I was thinking I hadn’t felt a lot of movement yday, but by the evening I was getting what felt more like some proper kicks.

Blocklynn · 14/11/2022 08:32

@LaForza101 hope you are feeling a bit better today 🤞

ChristmasJumpers · 14/11/2022 09:04

I finally got some kicks this weekend! What an amazing feeling. Baby went straight to kicking, no flutters or bubbly feelings first.

I feel like I'm finally starting to bond now, has anyone else struggled with that? DM and DH are besotted already and I have just been happy that we're finally pregnant, but wouldn't necessarily say I loved the baby (sounds awful I know). Feeling those kicks has changed everything 🥰

Dreamingof3 · 14/11/2022 09:12

@LifeOfRiley1 I have most things 😅 bought some before the 12 week scan. I don't believe in jinxing things and we've got some right bargains buying when we did!

@TeddyBeans I think if you've noticed a pattern and you're concerned then call up, there's no harm in checking ❤️

I'm still not feeling much at 22 weeks. Makes me so anxious as I felt loads at this point in my previous pregnancies 😑 we have our 2nd go at the 20 week scan today though so hopefully we'll see some movements at least

PeonyPops · 14/11/2022 10:04

Iv got everything mostly but a pushchair & bottles. With it being baby number 4 you realise what you need and what’s a total waste of money, I have. Just trying to decide which milk to use. I always used Aptimil with my older 3, but it’s by far the most expensive. I’m thinking of buying Kendimil this time. Waiting for Black Friday to buy bottles, but I’ve got a steriliser and prep machine already. 9 billion sleep suits and I pick up a pack of nappies everytime I go shopping. Baby girl feels like she’s going to burst out of my stomach at nights these days. Anyone got to have a diabetes test?
