Can I take lozenges whilst pregnant ? Have a bad cough and midwife not replying

ChristmasJumpers · 11/11/2022 07:36

@havanamama I've just had a quick Google and it seems so hut I'd be wary too until a midwife okayed it.

We're off for our 3rd attempt at the 20 week scan today. Baby just will not cooperate for the spine measurement! Yesterday's sonographer seemed to be attempting to burrow straight through the skin, I'm surprised I don't have bruises 😖

Baby2iscooking · 11/11/2022 08:04

Anybody ever got super dizzy in pregnancy. I don’t mean standing up and feeling dizzy but dizzy for hours even when lying down? Had my blood pressure checked a few hours before and it was normal.
I did have my scan which took an hour with a lot of prodding and poking earlier in the day so not sure if that could of made me feel like it

Choc2022 · 11/11/2022 09:38

One day I was very bery dizzy and fainted. Very briefly, they put it down to dehydration and low sugar as hadn't eaten. Id ask a midwife though.

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 11/11/2022 09:58

@MarigoldMoonStone Good luck for your scan today, mines at 2:10 so let us know how you get on!

Baby2iscooking · 11/11/2022 11:06

Had scan yesterday though and all is well! We’re team 🟡 but been trying to still guess all day

Cats23 · 11/11/2022 11:25

Good luck for scans today!

Has anyone had a 4D scan yet?
We've not had with our older children but Dp thought it would be nice for the last one and our older children be there too!

Cats23 · 11/11/2022 11:25

Also, So far our 12 & 20 week scan photos werent so great- v.wriggly little baby haha!

iratepirate · 11/11/2022 13:01

I’ve had quite a bit of dizziness recently. Mostly when I’ve been doing things like gardening on the weekends and when I’ve been running.
I don’t often drink enough anyway, so I’m trying hard to make sure I’m upping my water intake by keeping a big bottle on my desk at work.
Also been having a lot of discomfort this morning, but I’ve had the toddler in the carrier quite a bit this week so I’m wondering if I need to alter where the straps are in case that’s what is causing it.

CristinaNov182 · 11/11/2022 13:53

good luck everyone with their scans today, hope the babies cooperate:)

wanted to ask:

Is anyone checking their body water %?

I got these new scales, as the old ones broke and it tells me my body water is 40.3%, low, good is >50 for women.

I’ve been drinking tea and decaf and some water since morning but instead of the water % rising it has dropped from 40.9 to 40.3…

I probably don’t drink enough, bc I’m not thirsty and my bladder fils extremely quickly, always been. At the last scan they could see in real time how quickly it filled up, I had to go to the toilet 3 times to empty it! Going to the bathroom so much makes me unwilling to drink a lot of water.

I also retain water, again probably bc I don’t drink enough.

im going to push myself from today and see if it makes a difference, anyone struggling with this or what body water % do you have?

Amy1303 · 11/11/2022 14:31

Hello mamas,

Hope everyone's 20 week scans went well. I'm due 27th of March and we are keeping gender a surprise but any guesses welcome 🙈 xx

Babynum2 · 11/11/2022 14:51

When does the third trimester start? I thought it was 30 weeks but my app says 27?

LittleAcorn20 · 11/11/2022 15:04

@CristinaNov182 i have never measured or considered measuring body water %

How do the scales do it? And how reliable is the measurement do you know?

I'd try not to worry yourself over it, I've never come across anyone (pregnant or otherwise) taking these sort of measurements.

Also, if it was a really important thing to monitor, it'd be included in the measurements midwives took routinely, e.g. when they measure our blood pressure, protein in urine, weight, height etc.

Sounds like you're drinking plenty and if you're going to try and be mindful to drink a bit more then I think that's good enough.

That's my personal take on it 🤷‍♀️

TeddyBeans · 11/11/2022 15:42

@Cats23 not yet but got one booked for two weeks tomorrow ❤️

@Babynum2 27 weeks - each trimester is about 13 weeks long

TeddyBeans · 11/11/2022 15:43

Dizziness can be from low blood sugar as well as low blood pressure. Make sure you're eating enough!

20 week scan today, baby as uncooperative as ever! Managed to get all the measurements except the heart before the rolled over, a brisk walk, sugary drink and bar of chocolate didn’t help to get them to roll back so going back in 2 weeks to finish it off.

OonMP · 11/11/2022 18:03

@Amy1303 due date buddy over here for 27th!

We're team 💛 too, one because we want it to be surprise and two, they don't tell you in our area in Scotland through NHS! I know we could do private scan but choosing to keep in unknown.

Funny though, after our 20 week scan my husband confidently said it was clearly a girl yet I was convinced what I saw pointed towards boy 🤣 Needless to say, we both agreed neither of us were in any way qualified to have an informed opinion!!

Hope everyone is doing well - I'm starting to get some mild back pain. Enjoying feeling bub's little bumps and kicks/flips every now and again - does anyone else think it actually feels like an alien moving around in them? 🙈

Cats23 · 11/11/2022 18:07

Im also 27!

Cats23 · 11/11/2022 18:07

*27th!

Amy1303 · 11/11/2022 18:43

Aww a few of us all due the same day!

Feeling baby all the time now, it's so strange. I have a 9 year old so feel like I'm starting al over again.

How big are your bumps ladies, so many people feel like they have a right to comment when your pregnant, I'm sick of hearing 'aww your bump is so small' but baby measuring around 20th percentile today sonographer said as my son was only on the 6th and born early

Xx

Babynum2 · 11/11/2022 18:58

I'd say my bump is now on the large side but 3 weeks ago it was tiny. It just depends on how he's sitting I don't think i have much water to as you can really see the shape. Last night I think he was sticking his bum out made me feel a bit sick actually.

Mine is similar to teddybeans

Dreamingof3 · 11/11/2022 21:54

You still can't tell I'm pregnant 🥲 just look fat 🤣

ChristmasJumpers · 12/11/2022 11:12

I think (hope) mine looks like an obvious bump now, it is all at the front but my legs are skinny and boobs huge so I'm looking ridiculously top heavy 😂

So so lovely to hear about all the 20 week scans. We never got told the percentile and forgot to ask! Picture of our girl at exactly 20 weeks on Thursday 🥰
