@LifeOfRiley1 oh brilliant, I felt sure there'd be more but like you I'd rather they were booked in already. I need to tell my manager when I'll be off to apts at least haha

hol92 · 07/11/2022 12:19

20 week scan went well :) feels so lovely to see him but so strange that the next time I see him will be when he’s here! I do think I have started feeling little pokes now :) x

I’m half way through week 23.

those with anterior placenta - how often do you feel your baby?

I feel the baby move about 1x day, sometimes strong movements, sometimes a flutter.

I'm 23+4 and about the same only really feel him for short periods at night when I go up to bed and not very strong my partner tried feeling for him last night but couldn't while I felt little flutters, we've got a 4D scan booked in for 2nd Dec so atleast we'll see him again before March and hopefully movements become a bit stronger and more frequent soon

TeddyBeans · 07/11/2022 13:14

@ChristmasJumpers yes that's right. They'll get you in for growth scans if your midwife measures your bump and it seems to be dropping off the expected growth lines

With my first I didn't start feeling regular movements until 21-22 weeks I think. He headbutted me at 17 weeks but that was it for early movements

@hol92 beautiful scan picture. Our sonographer didn't offer one and we forgot to ask! I'll have to remember on Thursday.

I'm glad it all went well ☺️ such a relief isn't it

TeddyBeans · 07/11/2022 13:15

@hol92 what a lovely picture ❤️❤️

@hol92 thats the cutest picture, his little nose! 💙

Perexi · 07/11/2022 16:04

Awww very cute scan @hol92

Very exciting seeing everyone having their scans! Ours is Thursday and can already feel the nerves creeping in!

Oh no @TeddyBeans hopefully other symptoms don't creep in and can get as close to due date as possible!

ChristmasJumpers · 07/11/2022 11:41

@havanamama when would you say you first felt movements? I can't help with how often you're feeling things sorry, I'm still waiting for any movements at 19+4

20 week scan this morning. Everything looking good but despite lying in all sorts of positions and running up and down the stairs, baby wouldn't flip over for a spine measurement! Back in on Thursday.

I have a glucose test in December but literally nothing else booked in from now until birth, can anyone who's already had a baby tell me if that's right? How will I know that baby is growing properly and my weight gain is okay etc?!

You should have midwife appts at 25 and/or 28 weeks depending if it’s your first or second baby. Mine got booked in at my 16 wk appt. I think she said as it’s my 2nd they just do 28 weeks but I could have one at 25 weeks as well if I had wanted. I think that’s for belly measurements, check protein etc

ChristmasJumpers · 07/11/2022 17:43

@MarigoldMoonStone thank you! First baby so I'd have thought 25 weeks. Coincidentally I do have my glucose test at 25 weeks so I'll ask more while I'm there 😊

beatingheartbaby · 07/11/2022 18:14

I'm in Scotland and have a 22 week appointment this week, then I think a 28 week, assuming it's different for the rest of the UK.

I can't wait for my appt on Thurs now so I can hear the babies heartbeat. I have anterior placenta and I'm not sure if I've felt her at all yet. Wish we could get more scans on the nhs! Seeing her at 20 weeks and then not until she is out again seems mad

Babynum2 · 07/11/2022 19:19

I think that this baby is going to be up all night I dont feel him all day but as soon as I go to bed he doesnt stop moving. Be interesting to see if hes a night owl and matches his kick patterns.

TeddyBeans · 07/11/2022 21:18

@Babynum2 standard! You're lulling him to sleep with your movements all day

Oooh is this a thing?

LittleAcorn20 · 08/11/2022 07:25

Bump is so unbearably tight and I feel sick with it. (Not BH, because it's been constant tightness for hours now, not crampy just tight to feel and see).
23+4 is this a feeling anyone else has had around now?
Been like it since yesterday lunchtime.
I can't work out if the tightness and the sickness feeling are connected or not.
There's a healthy does of heartburn thrown in there for good measure too.
Eeuughh I feel so uncomfortable right now! Don't remember feeling anything like this til much later last time round!

havanamama · 08/11/2022 07:31

@LittleAcorn20 I am a few days behind you but haven’t had anything like that

CristinaNov182 · 08/11/2022 10:08

@ChristmasJumpers they told me I have an anterior placenta but I feel the baby since 16 weeks, and I feel flutters thought the day, more in the evenings. But this is my second baby, and I didn’t feel the first so well, though I had a posterior placenta then. So I think that’s the explanation in my case. It also depends where the anterior placenta is, if it’s more to the side, I’d imagine you’d feel it on the other side.

@LittleAcorn20 i had this with my first. Felt like the trousers were tight on me, they weren’t. And I also had slight morning sickness (in the evenings). At about 20 weeks. Didn’t have any earlier morning sickness with my first. It’s your skin and uterus expanding, the sickness don’t know.

this time around 18 weeks I felt a pressure on my organs (so inside the abdomen, not skin tightening a) and felt like the baby was rearranging my organs. Very uncomfortable. They told me it’s normal, uterus expanding, catching up with the baby.

both pregnancies I think I had these only for about 2 weeks? I can’t remember exactly with the first one, but not much longer I think.

@TeddyBeans I’m sorry about your preeclampsia symptoms, I assume you’ve been taking baby aspirin for it? I have the risk too (and IUGR) and been taking it from 12 weeks. They just said recently I will be having the daily clexane injections from 28 weeks, replacing the aspirin. Did they say if there is anything you can do or take?

TeddyBeans · 08/11/2022 11:22

@CristinaNov182 nothing yet because it was just 1+ and my BP has been stable/normal. I've been taking aspirin since about 8 weeks for it. I think she'll be ready to spring into action at my 28 week appointment if it's shown any signs of getting worse. I'm just trying not to see it as too catastrophic yet 🙈

CristinaNov182 · 08/11/2022 12:00

@TeddyBeans hope it stays normal and all continues to look good. Yes, no need to stress out now, just keep an eye on things.

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 08/11/2022 12:06

Anyone else have their 20 week scan Friday and starting to feel the nerves?!

Perexi · 08/11/2022 12:28

I think I finally felt some movement's last night in bed 😍 the downside is I've started being sick again! Argh!

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark Thursday but yes very much so!

TeddyBeans · 08/11/2022 12:35

@CristinaNov182 same to you 😊❤️

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark ooh good luck for Friday! Hope bean plays ball!

@Perexi yay for movements! I've been sick 3 times in the last 6 weeks. 20 weeks exactly, 21+6 and 24+1 🤦‍♀️ almost exactly 2 weeks apart each time

OP posts:
TeddyBeans · 08/11/2022 12:36

@Perexi good luck for your scan too!
