Is anyone else having a surprise and waiting for gender?

Babynum2 · 09/10/2022 14:16

Im off to Cyprus on the 18th do you know if i need a fit to fly note or not needed until later in pregnancy?

SammyJay5 · 09/10/2022 14:22

@LittleAcorn20 @Baby2iscooking @hellosunshineagainxxx thank you all, I’ll see if they mention anything on Friday and if not I’ll ask them just out of curiosity 😊

I’ve had a random boost of energy from somewhere today, could definitely get used to this! 😆

Baby2iscooking · 09/10/2022 14:30

It’s usually from 26 weeks but best to check with that airline

ToffeeEl · 09/10/2022 14:39

@Babynum2 I'm going on the 17th and at my last appointment she said technically I don't need a note but best to check with airline and make sure insurance would cover any potential doctors, and she made another appt the week before flying to double check everything and tips (like getting up and flight socks because of my low bp).

One thing she said was even if I don't have a fit to fly note make sure to take all my midwife notes with me. Enjoy your hols x

Is anyone else having a surprise and waiting for gender?

All the yellow hearts on the list are surprise babies 😊

I celebrated 20 weeks today by promptly throwing up as we got in from doing the weekly shop 🤦‍♀️ certainly wasn't what I was expecting to happen today

In in week 19 and have felt a few pinches today and when I lay on my side for a bit and then roll on my back, I can feel some flutters under my belly button ☺️ I am not yet sure if that’s baby but it’s never felt like that from food haha 😆

Blocklynn · 09/10/2022 17:17

Hi, hope it’s ok to join 🙂
I’m 16+2 due 24th March. Mine and my husbands first baby.
We’re planning on having a surprise and not finding out the gender.
I haven’t felt any movement yet but I can’t wait for that 🥰
Is anyone else getting a bump yet or am I just getting fat 🙈

havanamama · 09/10/2022 18:01

@Blocklynn I definitely have a bump now ☺️

I have an anterior placenta this time. It was posterior with my other 2 so I'm a bit nervous about the difference in movements 😬 I think it'll make me panic! I vaguely remember it being mentioned at the 20 week scans ..this time she mentioned it at my 16 week gender scan.

I'm also glad I'm not the only one exhausted, I'm rushing the kids to bed mist nights so I can go too 😂 and the house is a mess

alotoftutus · 09/10/2022 20:33

I'm 17 weeks today and haven't felt anything yet. I've had an anterior placenta with all 4 of my children so I suspect this will be the same to be honest. I don't usually feel movement till after 21/22 weeks.

I'm feeling yucky most days :( I didn't get sick at all until I hit 12 weeks. I felt sick between 9-12 but now I'm being sick most days. I can't smell anything remotely strong it just sets me off. I was at a school open day last week (not the one I was sick out the car window on the way to lol) another one. We went to look in the food tech classrooms and I told my son I had to leave quickly. There were kids cooking all sorts of things and I knew if I didn't get out I'd be sick. DH is away now and cooking for the kids is really hard. I made a roast today and the smell of chicken and veg was more than I could cope with. I sat and ate a meat free burger and potatoes In a different room because I couldn't stand the smell 🤦🏽‍♀️
My youngest still needs help with wiping herself - every time she poos I vomit! We have two toilets thankfully and ive worked out that when she goes she has to use the downstairs loo. I run upstairs and when she's done I have to shower her rather than wipe her to avoid being violently sick. It's ridiculous. I dread going out encase I smell something. The second trimester is supposed to be fun - I feel worse now than I did in my first.

Room4onemore · 09/10/2022 22:13

Cams50 · 10/10/2022 08:19

Hello! @TeddyBeans please could you add me to the thread. I’m due 2nd March and we’re planning on keeping the gender a surprise 💛but my 20 week scan is this Thursday and I’m very tempted to find out!!

Cdoc · 10/10/2022 08:19

Is anyone else struggling with really sore boobs? More so my left than my right, but it’s kind of underneath where my bra line sits. So sore!

Eastybaby19 · 10/10/2022 08:27

I have my 20 week scan today and I'm so sick with nerves 😔 been awake most of the night too I always get awful anxiety before a scan been up all night worrying 😢

Cdoc · 10/10/2022 08:33

@Eastybaby19 completely understand 🤍sending you a hug and hope the scan goes well

havanamama · 10/10/2022 08:37

@Eastybaby19 I am the same! Drink water, deep breaths and hope for the best !

Dreamingof3 · 10/10/2022 08:40

@Eastybaby19 I hope it goes well, I get awful scan anxiety too it's horrible xx

hol92 · 10/10/2022 09:29

Best of luck @Eastybaby19 I’m sure all will be just perfect ❤️ But it is horrible

I have caved and booked a gender scan tomorrow evening at window to the womb and the scan nerves have returned 🙈 but also so exited to see baby again stop calling baby ‘it’ 😊😊 💙💕

Eastybaby19 · 10/10/2022 09:57

Thanks Ladies it's at 1.30 today so I'll let you know how it goes. 3 year old away to playgroup and I'm off today so going to try keep myself busy 🤞

@hol92 good luck for your gender scan, it's lovely being able to say he or she ☺️

Perexi · 10/10/2022 09:57

Oh yikes @alotoftutus that sounds brutal, really hope it eases off a bit for you!

Good luck with the scans today those who have them, how exciting!

We had family over yesterday for the first time since we broke the news it was actually really nice seeing how excited they were 🥰

Hopingforarainbow27 · 08/10/2022 08:46

Any of the early March people feeling movement yet?

I’m due on the 18th, though they said they will not let me past 11th.

I’ve felt the baby move since week 16, same as with my first pregnancy, it’s very faint, like small pops and infrequent.

CristinaNov182 · 10/10/2022 10:22

You can add me to the list too thank you.

I’m due on the 18th of March, and it’s a girl, found out through NIPT.
