I second the carrier thing, last time I got a stokke one assuming it would be good and it just didn't fit me right at all. This time I'll try some on (or go with ergo, but second hand and resell it quickly if it's not comfy!)

muminlndn · 23/10/2022 20:35

And I strongly recommend getting a maternity coat, as you'll really need one come January but by then with only 2 months left you'll be so stubborn you'll freeze yourself instead 😆
So get one now and let yourself enjoy it all winter! If you get popular brands second hand you can often resell for nearly the same amount

I wish I was going to listen to you but I know for a fact that I'm a stubborn cow and I absolutely won't 😭 everything's made much more expensive by the fact that I'm plus sized so normal shop maternity sections don't fit. It's also much harder to find stuff second hand.

I'm hoping my blanket jumper will fit me all the way through and I can get away with wearing my lightweight rain jacket on top as it's currently the only coat that fits me still 😂🤞

Hello! First time mum due 21st March! Enjoying reading through this thread and being around people that are going through the same as I am currently!

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 24/10/2022 08:22

Has anyone had their sickness come back twice as bad?! I was really ill up until about 15 weeks then it subsided, 18 weeks today and I've been sick 4 times in the last 2 days 😫

Dreamingof3 · 24/10/2022 08:38

@TeddyBeans this is exactly me 😂 keep pretending I won't get that cold. I am tempted to see if I can just buy an insert for the coat I have currently!

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark mine comes and goes still. I can feel fine for a few days then have a day where I'm sick and can't eat at all! 19 weeks

iratepirate · 24/10/2022 09:08

My nausea doesn’t seem to have subsided at all so far (20wks).

LittleAcorn20 · 24/10/2022 10:34

21 weeks and vomitting out of the blue. Assumed it was maybe a bug? 🤷‍♀️ Whatever it is it isn't pleasant 😑

TeddyBeans · 24/10/2022 10:54

I was 22 weeks yesterday and threw up completely out of the blue on Saturday morning 🤷‍♀️ I've just resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to be sick once every few weeks for the rest of my pregnancy! Last time was 20 weeks on the dot.

@Dreamingof3 I've had a look for an insert panel, you can buy them for about £30 but then it's a case of making sure the zips are compatible. Then I feel like if I'm spending £30 on a panel, I might as well just buy another coat!

@LifeOfRiley1 welcome and congratulations! I'll add you to our little list of due dates 😊 are you finding out your baby's sex or keeping it a surprise?

Hopingforarainbow27 · 24/10/2022 12:17

Does anyone have maternity tight recommendations?

LifeOfRiley1 · 24/10/2022 12:44

We’re just keeping the sex a surprise :)

BabyLimey · 24/10/2022 12:55

Had our 20 week scan this morning and can’t even describe the relief of finding out all is okay with baby and they’re growing as they should be. Also blows my mind how much they’re wriggling away in there and how little I can feel it from the outside 😂

PeonyPops · 24/10/2022 13:36

I’m going for my scan in about an hour. Absolutely shitting myself. No reason to. But I guess it’s a mothers right to worry.

TeddyBeans · 24/10/2022 16:59

@BabyLimey glad all is well 🥰 it's really weird to see them moving but not feel it!

@PeonyPops how did you get on? 🤞

All fine thanks so much. It was lovely. She is measuring big though. Not sure how worried to be, my smallest was 8lb 13 so I don’t have small babies.

Perexi · 24/10/2022 18:31

Just wondering if this is pregnancy related or something else....for the last week ive had some pain between my shoulder blades and it kind of spasms every so often during the day and its really painful. Just don't want to email midwife if it's expected, I thought I had pulled a muscle but it's not improving at all!

Perexi · 24/10/2022 18:31

@Babynum2 ah great news! Enjoy the relaxation!

havanamama · 24/10/2022 18:36

@Perexi I have not heard of that and in my Pregnancy day by day book common symptoms there’s just lower back ache

Thanks that's what I thought from looking too, it's a very strange pain 😂

Dreamingof3 · 24/10/2022 19:34

@Babynum2 gld you got away, you look amazing 😍 have a lovely rest!

TeddyBeans · 24/10/2022 19:34

@Babynum2 enjoy your holiday!!

@PeonyPops how big is she measuring?

@Perexi not a pain I can say I've experienced tbh

At my 16 week midwife appt I was told I would need to call my drs to book my whooping cough jab. I called today and they said I can't have it until I've had my 20 week scan.. is this a thing or are my drs just strange?
Im 18 weeks today if that makes any difference, I thought I could have it any time from 16 weeks? 🤷‍♀️

I was told it can be scheduled after the 20 week appointment - my midwife has booked mine in for December. I think she said it needed to be before 32 weeks so there's a big window to have it.
