@TeddyBeans that is a beautiful scan! 💖

havanamama · 21/10/2022 17:36

so lovely that all the scans have gone so well! 🥰
I’m definitely feeling so much calmer and no anxiety now that I know that baby is all healthy and know where the placenta is, so not worrying about feeling less movement.

I can’t believe more time has passed than is left of this pregnancy ! ☺️ Times has flown by SO quickly!!!

Our next step is decorating the nursery, going for an animal theme ☺️

beatingheartbaby · 21/10/2022 17:39

Aww lovely @TeddyBeans

Can't wait to see my little lady again on weds! We had private 16 week scan but the wait until the 20 week still seems so long!

Dreamingof3 · 21/10/2022 18:42

@beatingheartbaby I had a 16 week scan too but feels like forever ago! 10 days until my 20 week scan 🙄

Room4onemore · 21/10/2022 19:13

10 days till my 20 week scan 😬

Mrs2022 · 21/10/2022 19:34

10 days to my 29 week scan too. Feels like so long since my last! 🙈

Mrs2022 · 21/10/2022 19:34

20 week can*

hol92 · 21/10/2022 19:49

12 days till mine! Can’t wait :) also still not feeling a thing! X

muminlndn · 21/10/2022 20:35

10 days for me too! It's finally close, been such a long wait since 12 weeks. Lots of us with Halloween scans!
Everyone has been referring to baby as 'he' so I'm excited to finally find out if they're right (I have a 4 year old daughter)

alotoftutus · 21/10/2022 20:50

My scan is on Halloween too.

I'm just so exhausted I haven't thought about it much lol. I struggled to function today. DH is away for 5 weeks, (we've just finished week 2) & I feel super guilty because I've been moody and snappy with the kids the entire day. I tried to claw back some mum points by buying a takeaway tonight (it also saved me cooking) but now they are all in bed I feel horrible.
As the day went on my two youngest started to get poorly - I'm in bed already as I just know I'm going to be up all night with them 😩

This pregnancy has been horrible. The first bit was ok but what with the constant exhaustion that's not letting up, sickness, and the downs scare I'm just so over it and can't imagine going another 22-24 weeks.

Sorry I'm moaning. I never really enjoy pregnancy to be honest but this one feels mentally and physically draining. I just want the baby here. I want to pick it up when it's asleep and watch it arch it's back and stretch it's strangely short arms in the air, I want to smell it (if you're a first time mum you are in for a treat when you smell your newborn - honestly the most incredible smell in the world). Babies are the best - pregnancy sucks! Tell me someone else feels like this too? 😬

Babynum2 · 21/10/2022 21:03

@havanamama yes 2 hours but i wouldnt ever have baby in a buggy that long anyway. We have to drive everywhere we are rural and no paths near us only place i really walk is school and its 15 mins across the green and back! This is baby 3 and the last 2 times i have spent a lot of money on lovely travel systems and only used carry cot handful of times always used car seat attachment just easier and then as soon as they can sit up puut them in a stroller and i already have a mint condition one left from last baby so added bonus.

MattyM5 · 21/10/2022 21:15

On the nicer side effects of pregnancy, does anyone else find that they need to wash their hair much less frequently? Like my hair used to be so oily I had to wash daily, now once a week will do me. Loving it but doesn’t seem to be a common thing when googling 😄

Baby2iscooking · 21/10/2022 21:25

I still have 3 weeks before my 20 week scan. Congratulations on all the lovely scans though.
i have been feeling pretty rubbish too, sickness until 15 weeks, then horrid cold, sinus infection which led to an episode of tmj which I’ve had for 2 weeks now.
and thyroid dose problems making me feel sick. I’m 17 weeks now and hoping to enjoy the second half of this pregnancy at least 🤞🏻

beatingheartbaby · 21/10/2022 22:07

@MattyM5 yes I'm the same, I can make it last almost a full week now it's great haha

MattyM5 · 21/10/2022 22:11

@beatingheartbaby Ahh it‘s wonderful isn’t it haha

AK93 · 21/10/2022 22:18

I'm also drained and moody. I didn't have the sickness but was anxious because I didn't! I just feel like I need to constantly have something telling me everything's ok. I really wanted to enjoy pregnancy and looked forward to it but I don't have as much joy as I'd like as it feels so long between scans etc! I guess it has gone fairly quick so far but I'm desperate for a bump so people actually know I'm pregnant and to feel something I can't confuse with anything else!

This week it doesn't help that I've picked up some illness so feel rubbish on top of the tiredness, and a bit of stress from work! I had a call with someone from the hospital/maternity mental health team last week who was lovely but I think I've felt worse since then. Just trying to be patient and distract myself and cry when I need to!

One of those things where you don't want to bring other people down with you but sometimes need to let it out to people who feel the same or understand!

Hoping for smilier times soon for all!! xx

hol92 · 22/10/2022 07:19

@MattyM5 im definitely noticing the hair thing!! Loving it :)

JB2021 · 22/10/2022 07:37

First time mum here, currently wearing under bump jeans. Will these be OK right through pregnancy or at some point will I "have" to go to over bump ones? Or is it just preference?

OonMP · 22/10/2022 07:43

@MattyM5 Yes! I've noticed this the past few weeks, and my hair is feeling softer too. Nice to have a small positive as all these other changes that are happening feel so strange! FTM here, so everything is a new experience just now!

ChristmasJumpers · 22/10/2022 07:47

Off for a winter shop today as its dawned on me that I only have one pair of maternity Leggings and most of my beloved Jumpers are looking too tight already.
I don't want to go mad as I won't be able to wear most of my new clothes after the baby is born (I might still have my belly but it'll be warmer).

What is everyone else doing about it? My winters usually consist of Jumpers and jeans or dungaree dresses, tights and boots. That sort of thing!

Absolutely a preference thing. You don't have to move to over bump clothes at all if you don't want to 😊

We're always here if you need to decompress ❤️ sorry to hear you're struggling with poorlies and anxiety, I've always found the wait between scans to be tough and the reassurance of feeling movements couldn't come quick enough.

Hope your happier times come soon ❤️❤️

My jumpers are starting to get to that point too and it breaks my heart because they're so comfy and I don't want to stretch them out of shape but I can guarantee the maternity ones won't be as nice 😭😭

I'm holding out as long as possible and then hopefully getting two that I can tumble dry so can wear them constantly. I'm battling with the need to buy another coat too - really don't want to do that but I already can't do the zip up on my one

@ChristmasJumpers not sure where you’re based but Seraphine do some great maternity to nursing wear. I just bought a couple of dresses that come with jumpers which will work with tights in winter and I can wear without the jumpers when baby is born in spring. I also treated myself to a winter coat that has a baby insert thing. It’s not cheap but there’s a sale atm and you can use the below code for extra 15% off (I don’t get anything from it).

ChristmasJumpers · 22/10/2022 11:07

Thanks @Hrf1503, I don't have one anywhere near me unfortunately as they have some lovely things online. I gate online clothes shopping though. The faff of returning things 🙄

Going to hit my nearest big city today and do my best! DH has just made my day by giving me a jumper of his that is too big for him now 😂 I can probably throw a belt on it and it's long enough to be a jumper dress!
