mine is FAIR

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 25/01/2008 18:16

As is mine - but I knew that after the experience I had there.

Carmenere · 25/01/2008 18:16

Mine is Least Well, but I knew that already. Me and dd are lucky to be here.

FAQ · 25/01/2008 18:17

says Least Well for where I had DS2 & 3. But tbh - although DS2's left something to be desired, I have NO complaints about DS3's birth - they were absolutely AMAZING.

glitterbird · 25/01/2008 18:18

mine is least well but the service I have had with the scans and midwife appointments has been very good. So would be interesting to see how they got the results

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 25/01/2008 18:20

i am not sue whether to change

i weigh up the maternity care with special care pediatric unit and go with what i think would be best - in case something went wrong - would not want baby moved....

So Scotland not worth a look then BBC?

Bellie · 25/01/2008 18:22

my 3 nearest are all Least Well - something to look forward to for when I finally get pregnant

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 25/01/2008 18:24

i am wondering if the big city hospitals are the low scorers?

OP posts:
LazyLinePainterJane · 25/01/2008 18:25

The one that I had DS in is best, it was brand new renovated when I had him.

paula - i was just thinking how bad ratingd for the london ones are.

think the criteria should be explained a lot better. could mean anything...

SparklyGothKat · 25/01/2008 18:28

least well,

HeadHeartorHormones · 25/01/2008 18:30

Ours got 'best performing' despite scoring 2 out of 5 for staffing levels and 3 out of 5 for availability of screening. If those marks put it in the highest category I shudder to think what the least-well performing are like. The bar doesn't sound set very high does it?

Maybe the questionnaire says - was a midwife available to assist you? If yes, please answer remaining questions. If no, thank you but we won't be using your results in this survey.

ruty · 25/01/2008 18:30

mine is fair too. Doesn't fill me with hope.

TripleyTigger · 25/01/2008 18:32

Mine says 'better' and ours is awful

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 25/01/2008 18:35

well another hospital nearer us is judged 'better' and my nurse friend said to me 'do NOT' go there and recommended 'fair' where i have been before

fair - was for me - some AMAZING care - some not so hot -and most notably for me dirty- proper dirty!

LadyOfWaffle · 25/01/2008 18:36

Best - and I totally agree. Apart from one dodgy midwife last time, they were excellent. Frimley Park by the way.

hunkermunker · 25/01/2008 18:37

The hospital where I had the boys is "Least well".

Personally, I had to excellent births there, but I know other people who have had appalling experiences.

I know for a fact (because I'm on an MSLC subgroup and go to main meetings when I can) that there's a very great desire to make things better, which fills me with hope.

Roseylea · 25/01/2008 18:37

Ours is 'least well', i.e. crap, which would surprise no-one round here. There's another hospital in driving distance and hey, guess what? That's 'least well' too! Great!

Flllightattendant · 25/01/2008 18:38

It doesn't list my house

Only kidding. Ds1's hospital is 'fair', which sounds about right.

PortAndLemon · 25/01/2008 18:39

BearMama -- the Healthcare Commission, who did the assessment, are only responsible for England. For Scotland you want NHS Quality Improvement Scotland, who did something similar a year ago (see details here, so doesn't strictly count as "news". It's not entirely fair to get angry with the BBC for that...

"Least well" -- all three of my options!

Peachy · 25/01/2008 18:39

Wellt ehre's no welsh hospitals in that doc, but the one that almost killed ds1 and I, and did kill a friends baby (theya dmitted it, its OK, no threat of lawsuits!)- rated as better.

[hmmmm] Okaaaay

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 25/01/2008 18:40

hmm we really need to know what the 25 indicators of performance are!

OP posts:
missnatalie · 25/01/2008 18:40

Mine says better? Im not sure if i beleive that though. I think its shite

izzybiz · 25/01/2008 18:42

Mine is fair.

That is about right too I would say.
