The hospital I am booked into is 'least well' too which is hardly inspiring but so far they couldn't have been better.

I'm in London anyway and all but one or two of the hospitals got crap scores so I've not really got any choice anyway.

Looking at the review criteria it seems a lot of it is to do with the no. of appointments you have, staffing levels, whether you see the same midwife each time, how long you are kept in after birth, no of post-natal appointments etc... so I'm hoping that the bad scores in London just reflect how much busier the hospitals are. Hopefully the care you do get is still good but you just get less time devoted to you.

better - I had a good experience there, but man it was dirty!

pooka · 25/01/2008 18:46

Least well, along with all the hospitals around here.

princessmel · 25/01/2008 18:46

least well Hope it improves before no 3.

OracleInaCoracle · 25/01/2008 18:47

the hospital that ds was born in rated best?!?

ROFL, who writes these things?

Indith · 25/01/2008 18:47

Best

I had a homebirth though so can't really comment on how that matches with the actual hospital.

I'm in Durham though and the North East has the best results. BBC breakfast was amusing this morning. Main news was doom and gloom about the results and local was bigging it up that we had most of the best care.

carmenelectra · 25/01/2008 18:47

Both the one i work in and the one i had ds2 is rated as one of the poorer ones. All i can say is my trust isnt that bad and the one where i had ds2 i have nothing but praise for!

biglips · 25/01/2008 18:48

mine is the Liverpool Womens Hosp....that is getting better!.....i bloody hope so!! as i can still remember those bathrooms!!! ! (going back oct 04 so maybe it had changed!)

Pollyanna · 25/01/2008 18:50

mine is best - well the one I am having dc5 at is anyway (the London one I had the other dcs in is pretty rubbish). This is reassuring, but it has an awful reputation.

Mumblesmummy · 25/01/2008 18:59

Mine says better and it's rubbish too.

BearMama · 25/01/2008 19:07

Thank you portandlemon, I will get off my high horse and go take a look

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 25/01/2008 19:08

Mine is better.

Couldn't have been worse in part.

iMum · 25/01/2008 19:10

Yippie, mine is best!

VictorianSqualor · 25/01/2008 19:20

Mine is rated as fair, as is the one I had DD&DS, I can already say IMO, the hospital I am at now is miles ahead in terms of care, respect and monitoring so far in this pregnancy.

All depends on who you get looking after you tbh.

scorpio1 · 25/01/2008 19:21

Best here!

although intending on HB this time.

warthog · 25/01/2008 19:21

least well

FlameNFurter · 25/01/2008 19:27

Mine was at Borunemouth and it isn't even bloody listed!

worzsel · 25/01/2008 19:27

Mines Best thankfully. The hospital where i had my daughter only scored fair and it was a wonderful hospital.

This time hoping for a HB so hopefully i wont matter.

KelaS · 25/01/2008 19:41

Mine is listed as least well too, but the care I have had so far has been pretty good - only negative was waiting 2 1/2 hrs at the hospital the one time I had a clinic appointment there, but it was handled really well - the person booking people in explained and apologised when we arrived, and gave people the option of going off for a little while without losing their place in line, and they got extra registrars in to help - pulled one off the ward, and another who had come early for the afternoon clinic volunteered to help out to reduce the queues. So although it was a long wait it wasn't too annoying as I could see they were trying to fix it. But haven't had baby yet, so guess I will see then what it is really like

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 25/01/2008 19:41

Mine is Better.

BUT there are at least 4 hospitals in East Sussex Hosp Trust including Pembury, Eastbourne and the appalling Maidstone. There is also the Crowborough Birthing Centre, where I had my first 2, and it's utterly fabulous.

Piffle · 25/01/2008 19:46

Better, my experience here was great
Homebirth with no probs, consultant when needed but butted out when not, plenty of midwives in reach, good GP support and when ended up HB transfer, immediate ambulance, and excellent m/w in attendance at birth.
Can't fault it here tbh

Piffle · 25/01/2008 19:47

and where I had dd was BEST - I would dispute that incidentally but one experience is not all I know.
apparently
but neither compare to my FAB experience in NZ in 1993-4
Superb choices

MegBusset · 25/01/2008 19:49

Least well. Amazing that while London is such a wealthy city, its hospitals should be so rotten.

Marne · 25/01/2008 19:49

the hospital in whic i had both dd's rates as 'best'

I was looked after well both times but i still think there is room for improvement.
