@Longbin how exciting and yes! 6 months doesn’t seem long at all and having a baby then just feels surreal. I still can’t believe it, especially as it’s my first.

Come down with a cold today thanks to being around children a lot last week 🤧

MamaMenna · 13/09/2022 16:11

@Skylark1990 thank you for asking, feeling pretty low as I've started passing some very dark blood with tiny bits so it does not bode well at all. This will be my second loss, the first being before my dd. I felt so hopeful yesterday too, seeing a heartbeat and the bleeding seemed to have stopped. Last time it took 4 days to get going so guessing I'll have confirmation in the next day or two

@Margo34 I hope you can get your progesterone ASAP

Skylark1990 · 13/09/2022 16:19

@MamaMenna oh no I'm so sorry. that's very stressful. If you have had a loss before, with this bleeding, you should be given progesterone if you ask. It may not be the answer but it could help. Sending lots of luck and good vibes to you xx

Wouldloveanother · 13/09/2022 16:19

@MamaMenna Sad how far along are you? Can you phone the EPAU?

MamaMenna · 13/09/2022 16:29

@Wouldloveanother I'm in Germany so will call obgyn in the morning if there's more. I. 7 + 1. @Skylark1990 I forgot to ask about progesterone so will ask tomorrow if I have the opportunity

Longbin · 13/09/2022 16:32

@Wouldloveanother I think boy too!

I got quoted £315 for the harmony and they've tried to charge me £465 now, and made me forward the email which says I got quoted £315. I'm a bit annoyed as if I had got the price over the phone I wouldn't even have the email as evidence! I got charged £500 last time and the the clinic was really fancy and I had 2 scans included, so I feel like £465 is extortionate.

alwaysseeingstars · 13/09/2022 16:34

@Longbin so exciting! 😊

@MamaMenna fingers crossed for you, so sorry you're going through such a stressful time..

Tropicana1 · 13/09/2022 17:15

@Skylark1990 feeling exactly the same - sending solidarity! DH keeps asking why I don't ask the doctor for anti-emetics (think he's fed up of my moaning 🤣) but I know I've not got HG so I'm just not sure I really 'qualify' if that makes sense. It's so draining though and the constant nausea / reflux cycle is horrendous. Managed to not vomit the last 4/5 days but just massively reducing the amount I eat when I do - if I feel full then I vomit. Was nauseous until 13 weeks with my daughter so counting down the days pretty much at this point!

Margo34 · 13/09/2022 17:17

@Skylark1990 @MamaMenna OMG what a stressful afternoon 🙈 BUT I've got my prescription for progesterone wahoo! My GP surgery told me they had rejected my request from last week and submitted an urgent request today which I chased 3 times, to be told at 4:50pm that they actually received my request last week and sent it to the pharmacy on Thursday. So it's been there since f-ing THURSDAY!! So I pegged it out the door to the pharmacy before it closed and got there in time. Phew!! Why the GP told me they'd rejected it when actually they'd done it I have no idea, and why the pharmacy didn't contact me to tell me they had it in either. So much unnecessary stress. I need a glass of some strong blackcurrant squash to recover.

Tropicana1 · 13/09/2022 17:20

@MamaMenna so sorry to hear you're bleeding again - fingers crossed it's not a MC

@Margo34 how stressful!! Glad you've got it sorted now

mummatara · 13/09/2022 17:31

@Margo34 phew glad you got it sorted but it really shouldn't be so hard 😳 what a lot of faff for you!

@MamaMenna 🤞🏼 everything's ok and you can get some answers soon

I've come home to still no booking appointment thought the point could be moot atm but they don't know that 🙄 according to lmp I'm 9+2 today not got a lot of time to get me in between 8-10 weeks have they. When I rang last week I was told its being processed I'll get an appointment shortly think they might need a call in the morning which will probably take me an age to get through why is everything always so difficult they were amazing in my last pregnancy

Missgemini · 13/09/2022 20:00

@MamaMenna so sorry to hear this. Crossing everything for you x

@Longbin how exciting! 315 is a really good price. Where did you have yours done, if it’s not too outing?

We got the sneakpeek test back. Assuming I didn’t mess up the test, we’re having a boy! 😊

Longbin · 13/09/2022 20:02

@Missgemini it would have been a good price if they don't end up charging me the extra now they've bumped it up to £465 😫 Basingstoke hospital but I recommend the Fetal medicine centre in london instead!

Longbin · 13/09/2022 20:03

@Missgemini ahh congratulations!! Did you think you were having a boy or girl? That came back so quickly!

Missgemini · 13/09/2022 20:15

@Longbin I’ve looked at a few places in London and the prices were a bit steep for me, so I thought I’d do the sneakpeek test first. If any concerns when I do my nhs screening, then we’ll pay the big money.
I hope they stick to the £315 for you. That would be a piss take otherwise.
But the harmony test is actually a proper exciting test. Can’t wait to hear your news next week!
Hubby and I were a teeny bit disappointed that it’s not a girl. We already have a boy. But now feeling more excited for him 😊

Awww yay 💙

Longbin · 13/09/2022 20:19

@Missgemini I know what you mean, I change between which I want all the time, so I don't think I really mind! Did you keep lots of his little clothes that you can pass down too? I keep feeling irrationally sad about going through my daughters things and removing girly items that she used to look so cute in!

AliceinSlumberland · 13/09/2022 20:20

Right I really need to catch up I’m so behind!!
@Longbin glad everything is okay, how exciting that you’ll know the sex so soon!!

@MamaMenna got absolutely everything crossed for you, really hope you get some answers soon

omg @Margo34 how stressful!!! Soooooo glad you got your progesterone though.

@Skylark1990 and others really suffering, you are all super women, honestly it’s not talked about enough how absolutely torturous that level of sickness can be and how much it affects your life. Although I’ve been really really lucky in terms of sickness I really do relate in terms of the anxiety.

Tiredness has killed me off today, had to give in and have a nap after work as I couldn’t function. Do feel a lot better as a result. Got my booking in appointment tomorrow and going to say I want an elective so feeling a bit nervous about that.

AliceinSlumberland · 13/09/2022 20:21

@Missgemini oooo a boy how exciting!!! Congratulations 💕💕

I can’t decide whether we’re going to bother ‘announcing’ on social media or not. Part of me thinks it’s a quick way for people to know, but part of me also thinks I don’t really want people nosing in my business haha. What are other people planning to do?

I’m planning to announce after I get the triple test results after 12 week scan, all being well. I’ve got a pair of knitted booties to put next to the scan photo 🧦 if you can’t be a bit corny on social media for a pregnancy announcement, when can you?! I know a few people who kept their pregnancies off social media - to the point where if they were tagged in a photo with a hint of the bump, they would have it taken down etc. I sort of get it but it’s not a state secret Confused
Plus it saves me having to repeatedly tell people in the flesh.

Missgemini · 13/09/2022 20:39

@Longbin the good news is that we basically don’t need to buy anything. We’ve kept all clothes etc. I can’t think of what needs buying this time round. Slight ‘gender disappointment’ or not, we end up loving them all just the same 😊

@AliceinSlumberland pretty much all my friends know already. I won’t announce on social media just because everyone close to me already knows now.
Will probably post when baby is here.

@AliceinSlumberland I'm planning on doing the same as I did with DC1 which is absolutely nothing 😂

I contacted and told all my important people directly and didn't feel it necessary to announce beyond that. My thinking was if I didn't want to send them a text/whatsapp or call them then why would I bother telling them on social media?

I think that's a brilliant way of looking at it. I'm doing the same this time round.

@mummatara I was 10+4 for my booking appointment & that was only because I reminded them I need to be referred to the preterm birth prevention clinic so they decided they'd better see me quickly, apparently as long as there are no health concerns flagged on your notes it doesn't matter if it's between the 8-10 weeks, also my 12 week scan is at 13+4! 2 weeks tomorrow & counting!!

Wisher88 · 14/09/2022 00:25

Any tips on dealing with bloat? I've bought clothes in bigger sizes, stretchy jeans, leggings etc but still feel so bloated. I look like I'm 6 months pregnant but I'm only 8 wks 😂😭😂😭
