@mummatara I've not been but I've heard good things about various window to the womb locations 😊really hope you get some answers soon, the wait must be agonising xx

Hannah223344 · 12/09/2022 14:46

@mummatara I went to a Window to the Womb on Friday for an early scan, would completely recommend, very friendly, clean and all round lovely experience

mummatara · 12/09/2022 14:47

@alwaysseeingstars thank you it really is and I'm only 2 days in 🙈 I have one about 10 minutes away and it's obv a big well known company but I'm so 50/50 DH will do whatever I want but he doesn't think it will show anything different but he's still happy to go if I want to

mummatara · 12/09/2022 14:48

@Hannah223344 thanks lovely

Skylark1990 · 12/09/2022 14:51

@SavedByGraceAlone I'm occasionally getting sharper twinges and also what feels like very mild period pains every now and then. Nothing is severe pain. it also feels quite full down there if that makes sense. I think likely it's just stretching and pulling pains for both of us 🙃

alwaysseeingstars · 12/09/2022 14:53

@mummatara it's kinda odd for me to say as I'm not having an early scan but with the anxiety you now have, I'd say if you can afford it then go for it. But, prepare yourself that you still may not get any answers just in case? Sorry, not helpful at all..

mamabeeboo · 12/09/2022 15:07

Hi everyone! Early April baby here, hoping that it's not on April fools, to hear a lifetime of bad jokes 😂
Just coming out of the nausea stage. I had three weeks surviving on only cereal, cheese sandwiches and pot noodle. Finally feeling much better.
Wishing you all a wonderful pregnancy journey! 🤗

mummatara · 12/09/2022 15:16

@alwaysseeingstars I honestly wish I never went for it in the first place the price lured me in 🙈 we can afford to go for another but am I just being impatient because I don't want to wait a week 🤷🏼‍♀️ i still have to go to the EPU next week regardless as I've made the appointment now and Im sure they would still want to see me even if I rang and said oh don't worry my mistake all fine now. I bet they hate private clinics sometimes 😳 I've had a look at the reviews for our local wtw and most are positive but they are all later scans there's one that said they said her 7w scan looked good but she actually had an eptopic 🤦🏼‍♀️ I think I probably just need to be patient and grateful I'm not bleeding or in pain these are good signs. I'm still having very strong symptoms

GeorgiePorge · 12/09/2022 16:47

@mummatara I've had 3 scans at 2 different window 2 wombs, and all were good. they are professional, respectful and don't feel rushed. the early scans I had were 8 weeks each time..and I think they always recommend vaginally scans at that stage. I waited to 8 weeks as i had it in my mind if there was a HB at that point then the risk of MC was much lower..but I know they will do scans over 6 weeks.

the other scan was a 16week gender one.

If you do go for one and it is positive... be prepared for them to try and flog you lots of stuff.. thats where they're margins are at I guess.

Also not sure if relevant or anyone else experienced the same but all the sonographers were male.. wrongly I'm sure, I was surprised the first time.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you... its such a nerve wracking time. x

Wouldloveanother · 12/09/2022 13:25

They’ve also just rearranged my first trimester scan, it’s now 4th October when I’ll be 13+1. So not really first trimester 🥴

I'm 4th October too! I'll be 12+5 ✨

Ive actually booked a private scan for the week before where I'll be 11+3 as we have a big family meal that week and want to tell everyone then so wanted to book another check in before hand just to make sure everything was looking okay x

mummatara · 12/09/2022 17:58

@GeorgiePorge thank you. I read the reviews for my local one and the sonographer name was def a male one in fact most of my nhs ones in all my pregnancies have been with a male think I've only had two nhs with a female and one of those was to check my lady parts so that's prob why. Not sure it really bothers me too much they don't look down there anyway and after everyone's looked at your Noo noo in childbirth who cares 😂

I'm still so undecided on what to do I seem to change my mind like the wind. I think I'll try and just get through the next couple of days and see how fraught I am 😫 it's only 7 sleeps until EPU scan now I can surely do this without having to spend £80 🙈

Heath2330 · 12/09/2022 18:12

Hi all found thread 4 lol hope you are all ok, I had booking appt today all went well feel a lot better after it midwife was lovely and understands my fear about giving birth ect she was brill and really supportive about it all being my choice and found out that the co sultans at my hospital is one of the leading on gentle sections in the uk so feel a little more positive.

Still no sickness but alot of heartburn and nausea last 3 days I'm 8 weeks today all cramping seems to have eased of at I'm absolutely exhausted which in turn is making me a moody cow lol everything is making my blood boil lol anyone else feeling like this?

ancienthouse · 12/09/2022 18:37

@Skylark1990 my last baby was 10lbs 6 and yeah I think it was a combination of size plus position. She was back to back with her head at the worst possible angle, and she had run out of room to turn. I gave her every chance, I walked up and down hospital stairs for hours and then once I was 10cm I turned off the epidural and got on all fours and pushed for over an hour!

I don't think it was gestational diabetes, she wasn't really chubby she was heavy because she was very long (like off the charts long), even now she's tall, 99th centile. I'm not particularly tall but everyone in my family is and my husband's family are all giants. So I think this one is likely to be the same. I need to hope it can get into a better position.

ancienthouse · 12/09/2022 18:42

@SavedByGraceAlone I've been having twinges too. Also what felt like cramps but turned out to be trapped wind!
The pain that worried me was pulling in my c section scar, but as it only happens when I move, EPU reassured me that it was fine when I asked at my scan. But if my scar hurts without movement then I should call them and get it checked.

MamaMenna · 12/09/2022 19:38

@DBS94 @BamEd @Skylark1990 Thanks lovelies for your kind words and sharing your experiences, I'm sorry to hear you're going through similar and for your losses Skylark. I'd typed a long message but lost connectivity and it didn't post. I bled again this morning then it stopped until just now. It's more than spotting, but not heavy. I've been told to rest and lie down as much as possible, take magnesium and just wait to see. Dr is going to see me again in a week. Will be a long week! I also had an anti-d shot, so anyone who is rhesus negative be sure to mention any bleeding. I forgot to ask about progesterone, but won't let my dd have unlimited access through the night anymore in case it's a factor.

cheekysausage · 12/09/2022 19:57

These of you thinking of using Window To The Womb for an early scan…top tip!! From the home page always click the menu > Packages and Prices > Special Offers and then select your clinic. Different clinics have different offers on different scans! I got my early scan for £60 instead of £80…not massively discounted but certainly better than nothing!

whambar1 · 12/09/2022 20:47

Hello! I hope I can join this thread ☺️ I'm 8+1 week. I have my midwife appointment on Weds.

Also considering an early scan for some peace of mind! But the closest one is a 40 min drive from me.. it's hard to fit in an appointment around work for both my husband and I!

Margo34 · 12/09/2022 21:11

Skylark1990 · 12/09/2022 11:01

Also, I've definitely had a bit of mild cramping recently and seem to have a little bump already! I am hoping it's just everything attaching more and stretching, but all the twinges can make me a bit worried. Anyone else feel they have a small bump already??

Yes! I definitely feel like I have a bump already...and I think one of my colleagues has me sussed too 🙈 keeps asking me "have you got any news...?" And then asking "...are you sure you don't have anything new to tell me?" Followed by "well you know where I am, here if you want to tell me anything!!" I don't think it helps that I keep rushing off to the loo every hour either, and certainly I'm way more bloated by the end of the day too 🤷

chasingtherainbow1 · 12/09/2022 21:12

Just checking in from last thread ☺️

Longbin · 12/09/2022 21:14

Joining from the last thread!

KennAdams · 13/09/2022 08:50

I have my rescan this morning with the private company I fist went with. Dreading it. I always have a sense of impending doom with stuff. Too much of a pessimist I think!

Good luck Kenn! There’s no reason why it shouldn’t go well 💐

DBS94 · 13/09/2022 10:17

@KennAdams good luck! Let us know how you get on x

Longbin · 13/09/2022 10:46

I'm off for a scan too today. I wish it was earlier in the day though, hate waiting around for it! 2 weeks today until my 12 week scan, finally.

AliceinSlumberland · 13/09/2022 11:28

Good luck @KennAdams and @Longbin , everything crossed for you.

Im completely exhausted today and in a terrible mood ha. Also constantly feel cold.
