Due date 3rd march and it'll be a 💛 right til the end for me ☺️

Pity post - currently feeling like the least resilient pregnant woman ever. I left work in floods of tears half an hour early today and had to call DH to leave his work too so he doesn't stop late and can help with the toddler. Feel like crap, had a gross cold that's gone on over a week now, whooping cough jab yday which is giving me side effects and very little sleep the past two nights thanks to the toddler.
I spent all summer vomitting and having to have people carry me - hubby and work colleagues.
I'm in a senior position at work and I just can't cope with the fact I've let everyone down so much for nearly 18 weeks now, I feel hopeless. Junior members of the team are carrying me by picking up what should be my work and so much is slipping by the wayside. I'm in marketing and events so Halloween and Christmas are both full steam ahead and September/October is always our busiest time of year.

I know it's as much his responsibility but my husband has broke his back all summer long to keep everything afloat at home and with childcare while juggling his also very senior full time role. I feel so silly having to ring him to come home. That's what set me off crying.
I know the preg hormones are making me overreact but this pregnancy isn't suiting me at all compared to the last. I constantly feel drained, dizzy, ill in some way or other and just generally weak.
DD and me are sat on sofa in a blanket watching the gruffalo til hubby is home because I can't move 😭 then I'll be crawling into bed.
I just think in my brain pregnancy can't keep being my excuse!

@LittleAcorn20 don't feel bad! Pregnancy really does a number on our bodies, especially if youre having a particularly bad time with sickness and other symptoms! Add in a small.child and all the responsibilities of home, plus a demanding job and its no wonder you're feeling run down! Take all the toke you need when you feel like that, you'll do yourself no good pushing on. I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight x

LaForza101 · 27/09/2022 17:23

@LittleAcorn20 Due date buddy! Though Ivd found out it's a boy 💙

Please don't feel bad. You will be doing an amazing job. Getting upset just shows how much you care about your job and family (plus hormones)! I hope you feel better soon!

Cats23 · 27/09/2022 17:33

If it helps, I cried today because I felt my DF was having a go at me- He sort of did byt my God did I respond by reading the riot act, then crying all way to work...., Got home and read a group parent message for DS sport team, I felt one response was aimed at me directly (Bit of an undertone crappy response from poster) ..., It wasnt, but I almost cried at that too!

Rest up well!

Babynum2 · 27/09/2022 17:47

Katlouise24 · 27/09/2022 17:49

LittleAcorn20 · 27/09/2022 17:54

Oh gosh, thanks ladies.
Now I'm crying again because you're being so kind 😭😂

Aww hi due date buddy @LaForza101 ☺️ and congrats on your little boy!! That's what I'm thinking I will have but we will see.

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 27/09/2022 18:12

@LittleAcorn20 ahh you poor thing, I feel the same though and actually you've made me realise I need to be less harsh on myself about it. So you need to be less harsh to yourself :) I feel very achy, tired and drained and just want to sleep. I don't remember it being this hard this early last time. Glad it's my last pregnancy tbh!

I'm due 24/3, won't be finding out 💛💙💜 until 20 week anatomy scan.

LittleAcorn20 · 27/09/2022 18:13

I'm not usually one to worry about screen time for my daughter but omg the mum guilt at the amount she's left to just watch TV at the mo.
Think it makes me feel worse because she keeps asking me to play things or do things (she's clearly bored of cebeebies too) and I just try and negotiate with her to keep on watching for a bit haha!
I suppose maybe it's good practise for when I have my hands full with a newborn too, there'll be plenty of sofa days then.

Flowerfan35 · 27/09/2022 18:36

Definitely getting my COVID jab, I had it once and wasnt too unwell but that's without reduced immune system from pregnancy (I've had a cold already and I haven't had one in about 10 years lol). Also heard from ICU nurse about number of pregnant women being admitted with COVID so would rather have the jab and reduce the effect if I do catch it again.

Definitely getting whopping cough one, had the disease as a kid and it was awful, do not want my little one getting that.

Got my 16 week appt on Thurs so be interesting to compare notes with others!

LittleAcorn20 · 27/09/2022 18:47

Oh yes @Flowerfan35 I should probably add that the side effects of this whooping cough vaccine are very much worth it (just headache, achy, and feverish) and I'll take them over baby developing it in childhood! Hope I haven't put anyone off, I didn't react to it at all when I had it in first pregnancy, I just probably shouldn't have had it whilst burnt out/under the weather it was a bit of a recipe for disaster!

After everyone chatting about the covid jab and some research I've decided to have that too - entirely personal though. I will just try and time it cleverly.

dmb91 · 27/09/2022 18:48

Also March 27th 👋
Team yellow 💛

Perexi · 27/09/2022 19:07

29th of march here coming in at the tail end! A yellow for me for now but I think we are siding on finding out.....

Babynum2 · 27/09/2022 19:20

I dont get thr flu vaccine had a terrible reaction and ended up in hosp when i had it in my first pregnancy. Ive had whooping cough and im going to give covid booster a miss i only just had my second and it made me so unwell for 10 days straight i dont think i can handle that ontop of the HG!

BethBeef · 27/09/2022 19:46

2nd March 💙😊

Noodle20 · 27/09/2022 19:51

7th March and don't know gender yet

EMcG3 · 27/09/2022 19:52

@LittleAcorn20- I just want to send virtual hugs your way. I am also really senior at work, am sick a lot and struggle to meet work +toddler+home obligations. I think we just have to cut ourselves some slack. You presumably had a very full life before. Adding another huge thing into it is of course going to cause some friction. Keep working on where you can hand things off/ask for help/outsource until you find a way to make everything work together, well enough.

Eastybaby19 · 27/09/2022 20:13

@TeddyBeans mines 4th March with boy 💙

alotoftutus · 27/09/2022 20:16

March 19th and currently team 💛 but definitely want to find out. I have a feeling it's a girl but DH thinks Boy - mainly because our children have gone boy girl boy girl so he doesn't see why this one should break the pattern 😂

Room4onemore · 27/09/2022 20:20

March 17th with a surprise

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 27/09/2022 20:31

Another one for 27th March! Not finding out gender so will be 💛 for us

Deut28 · 27/09/2022 20:34

I'm also really struggling to function at my usual level at home and at work, and toddlers are not conducive to getting much rest!

In my first pregnancy I read about this study that found that pregnant women are functioning near the limit of human endurance and now I frequently remind myself that I'm basically running an ultra marathon for nine months: www.bbc.com/news/health-48527798

When I read the week-by-week development updates on my pregnancy app I think it's no wonder I'm so tired, the baby doubled in weight or developed solid bones or whatever it is that week. I also remind myself that I'm doing 100% of the baby-growing, so it's ok to ask DH to do more than 50% of the chores.

alotoftutus · 27/09/2022 22:25

Awwwwww tonight the heartburn has kicked in! I forgot how horrendous it is. Feel like I have swallowed a bottle of acid!
It seems way to early!

Anyone else got it yet?

LittleAcorn20 · 28/09/2022 06:31

Thanks @EMcG3 and @Deut28 that is my new favourite study ever! I wish more people (husband's, male bosses, colleagues/friends with no kids) could be educated on that! It's quite impressive really.
My boss loves to say "pregnancy is not an illness" I've heard it uttered so many times by him, not just directed at me but basically if he's ever speaking about someone working and pregnant... ughhh next time he says it I'm going to say "no, but its very nearly equivalent to running ultra marathons daily"

Omg @alotoftutus so early!!! Feel for you, it got horrendous for me in last few weeks last time.. I was glugging bottles of gaviscon and it barely helped! Maybe it's temporary and won't last right til the end, seems very early

I'm a long term sufferer of heartbeat and it definitely intensified a few weeks into pregnancy. I counteract it by chugging tonnes of milk before bed and only using medicine when I absolutely have to 😬
