Hi I haven’t posted since early on, I’m 11+4, had my midwife phone appointment this morning. I’m high risk, but I have to start aspirin and clexane injections from 12 weeks so I’m going to have a nice black and blue stomach lol. I also have a prolapse so I’m hoping that can be sorted as well

2019Mama · 02/09/2022 16:23

Thanks for the new thread.

Scan next week 7/9 at what I think will be 12+2

8am tho so early 😬 followed by consultant at 9

TeddyBeans · 02/09/2022 17:17

@Room4onemore welcome back. Glad your midwife appointment went well. Sounds like you're going to have a fun time 😬 how long do you have to do the injections for?

OP posts:
Room4onemore · 02/09/2022 17:26

@TeddyBeans until 6 weeks after birth

Bobduncan · 02/09/2022 18:21

Does anyone else not really 'feel' pregnant? I have moments of nausea and I'm tired, but I just thought I would feel more different! I wouldn't be surprised at my 12 week scan if they say there's nothing in there 😂(there definitely is btw as I had a private scan at 9 weeks! 😅)

TeddyBeans · 02/09/2022 18:34

@Room4onemore oh wow! That's a long old slog 🙁 it'll all be worth it though!

I've got my scan next week, will be 11+5 by my dates so hopefully will be able yo see everything and get the measurements they need.

We then go away to Cyprus, which I'm feeling nervous about! But trying to look forward to coming back as we'll then be booking a gender scan 🥰

havanamama · 02/09/2022 20:02

I do feel pregnant and it’s week 14 now.

I get more energy and less nauseous, but still feeling pregnant as I feel little things in my lower abdomen, or it’s not comfortable sitting, have the white discharge, sensitive breasts, etc.

allthingssparkly · 02/09/2022 20:33

Advice please 😊

So I've been offered a job through the agency I'm registered with, the job is based in a school and they've asked me if I can go in for a trial next week which I'm happy to do so.

However on Monday I'll be 14 weeks pregnant, I haven't made the agency aware that I'm pregnant yet. When should I do so? I have been worried about telling them earlier in case they use it against me to find me work!

I feel I need to tell them sooner rather than later especially with my sickness still lurking but I don't know when the best time is 😩😩

Babynum2 · 02/09/2022 20:51

@Dreamingof3 im also off to cyprus not until next month. We are going on a "baby moon" to majorca in a couple of weeks if i ever get out the hospital i feel nervous though!

TeddyBeans · 02/09/2022 20:55

@allthingssparkly I told work during the summer in case there was risk assessments and stuff they needed to do for me ready to start back in September. Will you still be employed by the agency or is the school employing you directly?

OP posts:
Dreamingof3 · 02/09/2022 21:08

@Babynum2 that sounds nice! I know people go abroad pregnant all the time but I never have and I'm not sure what's making me nervous about it 😅 were going for a family wedding so it's going to be a bit full on, but hoping to be able to get some rest!

allthingssparkly · 02/09/2022 21:11

Via the agency @TeddyBeans not by the school.

I don't know whether to wait until I have had the trial day and then mention it or what 😬 never been in this kinda situation before.

Babynum2 · 02/09/2022 21:16

@Dreamingof3 i went to dominican republic 3 months pregnant with my son when the zica had just come about my midwife advised to not go but we took a risk and went and i have never felt so nervous! Fortunatley cyprus and majorca is safe for us i think im just nervouse because ive been in hospital so much and i dont want to get really sick while away but i got my fingers and toes crossed my HG stops by then.

TeddyBeans · 02/09/2022 21:49

@allthingssparkly is it a long term placement? If your time at the school will end before your maternity leave is due to start then I probably wouldn't make telling the school my main priority. I probably wouldn't tell the agency until you were legally required to. Do you check in with them in person or do they call you with work?

OP posts:
allthingssparkly · 02/09/2022 21:57

The agency didn't say whether it was a long term placement or not, I will have to ask about that @TeddyBeans

I'm not sure how many weeks it is when you are legally required to tell them?

The agency call me when there is work available, I dont see them in person x

Cats23 · 03/09/2022 01:20

Ordered under bump jeans and my first ever pir of leggins!! So comfy, old trousers and jeans dont fit now.
Im 10+4.
As Im classed as high risk, I would'nt go on holiday abroad in pregnancy, even if I wasnt- high risk, Personally I wouldnt go either- I'd worry too much and know I wouldnt enjoy.

Babynum2 · 03/09/2022 02:14

@Cats23 i am also high risk but only due to pre term babies both my holidays are before 22 weeks so doctor has said its fine for me to go im more anxious that we are going in a big group and im going to be left with all the kids as everyone will be drinking 😂it doesnt take a lot for me to be anxious tbough i suffer with anxiety and worry about everything!

Glendaruel · 03/09/2022 02:37

I'm at 12 weeks and maternity clothes came out at 9 weeks, but it's second pregnancy, so body just popped. I had some stores from last time but have been on ebay. Frugi is nice and like jojo maman.

Had scan yesterday, until then I've not wanted to come on, until I knew it was all going ok!

muminlndn · 03/09/2022 05:58

@allthingssparkly I can't sleep so had a quick look here www.gov.uk/agency-workers-your-rights/maternity-rights-for-agency-workers.
Generally, you have to tell your employer 15 weeks before due date, so before you're 25 weeks pregnant. Looking at that page you technically have protected rights but being treated unfairly and then going through a whole discrimination case is not fun nor easy. I would personally leave it as late as possible up to the 25 weeks.

JA42 · 03/09/2022 07:01

Just place marking 😊

allthingssparkly · 03/09/2022 07:31

Thank you @muminlndn I definitely will be mentioning it before I turn 25 weeks, as I will obviously be showing quite abit by then 🙈 I want to make the agency aware sooner rather than later because I do have a couple of antenatal appointments that are during the day which clash with the jobs working hours which I'd still need to attend.

Hopefully it all works out ok 🤞

ChristmasJumpers · 03/09/2022 07:48

Thanks for making thread 3! Just place marking for now

Dreamingof3 · 03/09/2022 08:22

@Babynum2 that's one of my worries 😂 everyone will be drinking and ill be left with all the kids! I don't have hg but have had really bad sickness so hoping it's better too 🤞
