@Perexi you can get them on prescription and it won't cost you anything with your maternity exemption certificate

Thank you @Babynum2 😊 Good luck for your scan tomorrow 🤍

Room4onemore · 24/09/2022 21:49

Good luck tomorrow, I’m just still here waiting anxiously till i feel movement lol

allthingssparkly · 25/09/2022 08:25

I keep fretting about yesterday's scan thinking what if the sonographer has got the sex of my baby wrong, she said she was 99% certain on baby being a boy, we didnt see any potty shots as I told her I wanted it put in an envelope to reveal as a family later that day, having a proper look at this photo I can see boy bits quiet obvious, please let me know if you see the same! At first I thought they look too far up but maybe it's just because of the angle of baby.

I need reassurance before buying baby boy clothes!

TeddyBeans · 25/09/2022 10:04

@allthingssparkly I can't really tell from that picture 😬 can you edit an arrow onto it to show us where you're looking? The sonographers are usually pretty good, they're more accurate at boys than girls as girls could be a late showing boy. You don't really get it the other way around AFAIK

Has anyone been told they have a chunky placenta? I had my gender scan the other night and she said it was chunky but placentas can be all shapes and sizes but it did look huge! Naturally I'm overthinking it 🤦🏽‍♀️

allthingssparkly · 25/09/2022 14:56

I will circle were I think I see boy @TeddyBeans, it probably is I have thought boy for a couple of weeks now but I'm still on edge and my 20 week scan isn't for 3 weeks 🙈🙈

Hi! I’m in week 17 now, impatiently waiting for feeling movements.
I do think I feel things stretching 😄 does anyone else just feels like that?

I still struggle to differentiate belly from bump and from bloat so it will take some more weeks.

my mum was absolutely surprised when I said some already have a bump at 4 months 😄she only had first belly signs at 5 months. I also looked on Instagram hashtags for 17 weeks pregnancy and I’m like whaaat?! Like how are some bellies already looking 9months but some have none?
i e read that till about this point all babies grow at pretty much the same speed so I don’t get it 🤪

I think it depends on which way your uterus points..I show really late over 20 weeks till I had a bump but I have inverted uterus. I was still tiny at the end and measuring ‘small’ got tiny baby clothes and my baby was a whopping 8lb (I’m tiny) so bump size means nothing.

Some women have big placentas, lots of water/amniotic fluid etc and forward laying uterus. It would be nice to have a bump tho to make it more real. I’m showing quicker second time apparently uterus muscles are more relaxed so it pops out quicker subsequent babies are your bodies done this drill before x

Also depends on stature - thin people tend to show quicker than larger as there is little space so it’s more obvious..I have a flat stomach and used to gym 5 x a week before pregnancy so even tho to others I don’t look pregnant I look like I’ve just had a big meal I could tell from 12 weeks and so could my partner as I could no longer see my hip bones.
Also if you are slimmer you will feel movements quicker. I’m 16 weeks and feel some tightening and my uterus will go hard but no ‘movements’ yet xx

allthingssparkly · 25/09/2022 15:56

@TeddyBeans I've circled what I think looks like a little willy 🙈 but then I'm like is it not too far up to be that 🤣

Should know really shouldn't I having two boys already, oops!

TeddyBeans · 25/09/2022 16:40

@allthingssparkly oh now you've pointed it out, you could well be right! I do see what you mean about it looking a bit high up though 🤔 tricky baby!

OP posts:
allthingssparkly · 25/09/2022 16:43

Thats what I thought @TeddyBeans 🙈🙈 baby was far too comfy at the scan yesterday 🤣 I'm going to be on pins till my 20 week scan, the sonographer is probably right but there was one picture I saw yesterday with baby's leg up by the side and in between didn't look very boyish but this picture indicates different to me 🙈 I'm sure he is a boy, but I'm still on edge 🤭

TeddyBeans · 25/09/2022 18:33

@allthingssparkly do you have any other shots? I'm surprised they didn't take a potty shot for you to keep (with the screens turned off for you to keep it a surprise)

OP posts:
allthingssparkly · 25/09/2022 18:38

@TeddyBeans There was a few images she took and then I got to pick, but the one above was one of the better images, baby was being awkward yesterday so some of the image quality I didn't think was great 🙈 the next scan pictures I'll have will be from my 20 week scan.

I was thinking about this today, I wish I asked her to print me off a potty shot image so I had it to look at after the reveal but I didn't 😩😩

Thanks! They did say at my 16 week appointment they would be able to provide me with some.

LaForza101 · 25/09/2022 19:59

Has anyone had a flu/COVID booster yet? I looked on the NHS website and I can book an autumn COVID booster being pregnant but I'm surprised that no midwife/doctor has suggested it to me. I didn't know we were on the list for the COVID booster this time around, I just happened to stumble on it looking for flu vaccine info

EMcG3 · 25/09/2022 20:02

@LaForza101 - my midwife mentioned it to me at my booking appointment, so I suspect it is poor information sharing as opposed to anything else

LaForza101 · 25/09/2022 20:07

@EMcG3 Thank you for replying. It is annoying that I've been left in the dark. Any info from your midwife on whether you are meant to leave a gap between flu and COVID vaccines? It looks like COVID is increasing now and flu season properly kicks off in a few months so I could space it out a few weeks

EMcG3 · 25/09/2022 20:09

@LaForza101 unfortunately nothing as useful as that. Only that both were available and I should get them.

Franklin321 · 25/09/2022 20:13

@LaForza101 my hospital offers flu and whooping cough vaccines after the 20 week scan, saves having to go see them another time I guess. I’m choosing not to have the covid booster (not that anyone has mentioned it to me) but I think you can have covid and flu vaccines at the same time so shouldn’t need a gap per say!

LaForza101 · 25/09/2022 20:23

@Franklin321 That's what is odd - the hospital has already given me my whooping cough vaccine as they provide it from 16 weeks but no mention of flu/COVID and where to get the if I want them

Franklin321 · 25/09/2022 20:27

@LaForza101 you can book a Covid booster online, flu probably depends on your local area but possible gp surgery? Nothing is ever truly clear with the nhs 😅

LittleAcorn20 · 25/09/2022 20:32

I'm getting whooping cough tomorrow... Do I need to space that with flu jab or can you get them both simultaneously? Might ask there and then when I'm at the GP surgery anyway.

I'm not sure about covid booster. I'm up to date x3 jabs pre-pregnancy and I know it's meant to pass on the antibodies to baby too to give them protection even as a newborn. But I feel a bit reluctant still. Anyone seen any really good info from reputable source FOR getting one? I kind of want to convince myself to go get it but I don't want to go googling as I'm sure I'll fall down a rabbit hole.

LittleAcorn20 · 25/09/2022 20:34

@LaForza101 flu jab you can walk into anywhere doing them - supermarkets with pharmacies and boots often do walk ins. Take your maternity exemption certificate so you don't have to pay.
That's what I did in pregnancy number 1, went to Tesco. They never even asked to look at my maternity exemption
