I agree that the gas and air is weird. It didn't make me sick but I hated the sensation it caused and the dry mouth feeling. So I didn't use it constantly but did draw on it through the more intense parts.
Hypnobirthing certainly won't make it pain free but just helps to manage the pain in my opinion, and to manage how that pain makes you feel, so you don't fixate on it or let it overwhelm you. For me it did go to pot as I got towards fully dilated as it's hard to stay focused on when things are getting so intense.
If you've done it natural the last two times you have TOTALLY got this ☺️💪 your body is capable of awesome things!

Room4onemore · 23/09/2022 14:44

They do have an injection that can reverse the effect of the blood thinners, I was on blood thinners from 28 weeks last time, I wasn’t told I couldn’t have any pain relief, just to not take my injection if I felt things were maybe happening, and miss that day just incase, then start again the next day if nothing had happened

Babynum2 · 23/09/2022 15:05

@Room4onemore she didnt mention them to me and made it very clear i wont be having pain releif if i had mine within 12 hours may be the dosage or type im on. I didnt have any idea i was going to go into labpur previous they was birth early and spon my waters just broke so thinking i may be the same again! Really wish i could experience a water birth but we always want what we cant have ayy.

Jholli · 23/09/2022 19:18

Hey all I have been diagnosed with HG I’m constantly nauseous even at night while sleeping
I have been trying to eat more but struggling
today I have eaten a pot noodle type thing at 11 am a cupcake (I forced myself) and a couple of glasses of coke. I’m constantly hiccuping to release air from tummy and just feel so full up
I feel like I couldn’t eat anything else if I tried
yesterday I had a couple of fish fingers at dinner in addition to above but way later on in the evening
why do I feel so full having not eaten a lot
I haven’t gained any weight but my belly at 14 weeks is at the point of popping and feels stretched

Jholli · 23/09/2022 19:27

Too add to the above this is really getting me down I don’t know how long this could continue
it’s not normal

havanamama · 23/09/2022 19:31

Hi! I’m in week 17 now, impatiently waiting for feeling movements.
I do think I feel things stretching 😄 does anyone else just feels like that?

I still struggle to differentiate belly from bump and from bloat so it will take some more weeks.

my mum was absolutely surprised when I said some already have a bump at 4 months 😄she only had first belly signs at 5 months. I also looked on Instagram hashtags for 17 weeks pregnancy and I’m like whaaat?! Like how are some bellies already looking 9months but some have none?
i e read that till about this point all babies grow at pretty much the same speed so I don’t get it 🤪

Babynum2 · 23/09/2022 19:37

@Jholli i have HG i was diagnosed at 7 weeks its been hell but im 17 weeks sunday and its slowly getting better. The early days were hard i was in hospital for days on end i found sucking hard boiled sweets, sipping water, eating whatever i fancied even if i threw it up and just resting as much as possible slowly taught me to cope with it. I have good and bad days now its not always ok sometimes i eatt and can keep it down and then other days i cant keep anything down. Have they given you any meds?

GreenIsle · 23/09/2022 19:41

I'm 16+3. Have definitely felt some small movement but this is my 3rd baby. At my gender scan the sonographer said baby is sitting just above my belly button and I can feel how much more harder that area is especially in the evenings. Still quite bloated and have a flabby tummy so I'm not showing or anything that others would notice.

Randomly threw up this morning and felt a bit off all day today.

Jholli · 23/09/2022 19:46

Thanks for your reply :) makes me feel I’m not alone! :((
I have meds yes but just worried about feeling so full after no calories really.. I have been having those cherry drops and they have helped a little

GreenIsle · 23/09/2022 19:58

@Jholli don't worry about not feeling hungry your body will get the calories it needs when it wants it. During my last pregnancy I lost my appetite and didn't crave very much. I maintained my weight throughout the pregnancy and when baby came I was actually a stone lighter which did me the world of good to be honest.

So far it's following the same pattern I have no appetite and have no gained any weight yet. I am forcing myself to eat at times however I do find there is at least 1 or 2 days per week I am actually really hungry so get my calories in on those days as I progress.

Jholli · 23/09/2022 21:33

Thank you this has made me feel better and exactly what I needed to hear
thanks all

Deut28 · 23/09/2022 22:09

@havanamama I think it can really vary by pregnancy. I was looking back at photos from my first pregnancy and I didn't have a bump at 15 weeks. With my second I look as pregnant at 15 weeks as I did at 20 weeks first time round. Same with movements. Didn't feel anything until 19 weeks with my first, but have had some movement for a few weeks now this time.

LaForza101 · 24/09/2022 08:19

Is anyone else suffering from leg cramps at night? I've never had this before so presume it is pregnancy related. Would a pregnancy pillow help between my knees or are they more for bump support further down the line?

Dreamingof3 · 24/09/2022 08:36

How's everyone doing?

I'm 14+6 now and definitely feeling movements! Have my gender scan next Saturday...hoping it goes well.

Also have my gtt Wednesday, really not looking forward to it as I have to fast from 9pm the night before and still feel sick in the mornings before I have breakfast 😭

Cats23 · 24/09/2022 08:50

I had leg cramps with 2/4 of mine.
Always middle of night, woke screaming, maybe once a week, it stopped at about 30 weeks!
Im only 13+4, feel huge still and feel some little movement still.

allthingssparkly · 24/09/2022 10:33

Another beautiful baby BOY! 🤍

Flowerfan35 · 24/09/2022 10:48

@alotoftutus that's really great news, so pleased for you.

I'm 15+2 and no obvious bump yet....until I eat a meal, no matter how small, I suddenly have a bump about 6months in size! Have my 16 week appt with midwife next week.

I told work at 12 weeks as I'm pretty senior so felt like I needed to give them plenty of notice. Immediate boss took it badly but rest of the board took it really well as several of their wives have recently had babies/are currently pregnant so that's been helpful. I'm currently doing the hiring for my Mat Cover which feels really odd 😂The mat pay isnt great but it's a lot better than some, saving as hard as we can at the moment as I really want to be able to take a year off given it's my first, but will see how we go.

Dreamingof3 · 24/09/2022 10:52

@allthingssparkly congratulations 🎊

Pickles23 · 24/09/2022 10:58

@allthingssparkly congratulations on your baby boy!

I'm 16+4 and I feel like my tummy has definitely popped out this week, I'm wearing my maternity jeans for the first time which are much more comfortable!

TeddyBeans · 24/09/2022 11:02

@allthingssparkly yay congratulations!

@LaForza101 pillow between your knees will definitely help but also drinking water before bed. Cramps are usually dehydration in the muscles so see if drinking more helps too

Does anyone know much about folic acid? Bmi was over 30 when we conceived (it's now under due to being so poorly) so I was prescribed 5mg folic acid. I saw online that I should stop taking it at 12 weeks? I haven't taken it for two days and I feel so much better within myself!
Am I meant to switch to a normal supplement now with folic acid in it or carry on with the 5mg?
Am now 13+5.

LaForza101 · 24/09/2022 12:11

@TeddyBeans More water before bed is a great idea. I probably accidentally dehydrate myself a bit to avoid nipping to the loo loads in the night but I'm not gaining anything waking up from leg cramps!

I had a call with the midwife about this as I wondered too. They said it wouldn't do any harm and if taking a separate folic acid (I was taking 5mg too) then stop but if part of a pregnancy vits just carry on. I switched back to pregnancy multivit I think the only thing you need all the way through is vitamin d.

havanamama · 24/09/2022 15:17

My BMI is above 35 and I was never told to take any more than the standard 400mg. So I’ve just been taking the Pregnacare Original supplements daily.

Odd how much the medical advice differs. I am also on Aspirin (150), but up until not that long ago the recommendation was 75.

Perexi · 24/09/2022 16:54

I've just started on aspirin too as I'm 40 and family history of preeclampsia. I only found out about the aspirin and high folic acid at my booking appointment.

I could only find 300mg aspirin tabs so having to break them in half!
