Hi ladies just wondering if any of you were still having bad morning sickness? I’m 15+3 and still have some mornings where I’m vomiting a lot. I was just wondering if this was still normal in the second trimester or something to worry about? Thanks 😊

Mrs2022 · 18/09/2022 11:06

@LittleAcorn20 were going to wait for a hospital surprise too. I think It keeps the excitement and I like the guessing game too this is no 4 and all the others were surprises too. Two boys and a girl and my wee girl just loses the plot when we suggest it could be another boy lol

Eastybaby19 · 18/09/2022 12:30

I had my gender scan this morning!! Amazing to see how baby is growing, we are having a surprise gender reveal later so don't know what it is yet! What do you guys think?

Eastybaby19 · 18/09/2022 12:34

Would of helped if I posted the picture 🤣

@havanamama completely understand too, so much so I have booked a window the Womb scan next week when I'll be 14 weeks. I am struggling to tell people I'm pregnant as my head can't get around the fact there's a baby in there, so I'm hoping another scan will settle my nerves....for another week at least 😅

Dreamingof3 · 18/09/2022 15:30

@Eastybaby19 I think a boy!

@TeddyBeans congratulations on your little girl! The Chinese calendar said boy for my eldest...a girl 😂 and girl for my youngest....another girl! So 50/50 😂

Have a gender scan booked for 1st October!

Babynum2 · 18/09/2022 15:49

@MarisaJ yes i had sickness until i gave birth last time. Worse this time so think it may be all the way through again.

Eastybaby19 · 18/09/2022 18:27

Baby gender pros (the thing I paid for) was wrong!! So was my feeling lol & the Chinese Callander we are having another boy!!! A little sad that it's not a girl but delighted for my son to have a brother!! No denying it's a "He" 🤣
Boy mama 💙💙

Congratulations @Eastybaby19 ❤️❤️ I'm sure two boys is going to be incredible! Are you planning on stopping at 2 or is there the possibility of more eastybabies in the future?

OP posts:
havanamama · 18/09/2022 21:02

Yes how many kids you all want ?

Thirdtimesacharm3 · 18/09/2022 21:24

Congratulations @Eastybaby19 fellow boy mum!! My two boys (7 and 5) are best mates and cannot wait to meet their baby bro in March!! I too was a little sad it wasn’t a girl this time but I think of the breadth of personalities and quirks my boys have that are nothing to do with their gender and excited to have another individual in the mix!! Xx

Eastybaby19 · 18/09/2022 21:48

@TeddyBeans thank you, I'm not sure if we will have anymore we were going to be done at 2 but maybe down the line we will reconsider!

@Thirdtimesacharm3 thank you for messaging that makes me feel better I feel guilty being a little sad but I had a moment to myself & now im feeling better and excited I think it's just Cus I really thought it was a girl 🙈 I hope my 2 boys will share a beautiful bond like yours do! There will be 3.5 years between them 🤞🙏💙

LittleAcorn20 · 18/09/2022 21:52

Ahh happy to hear there are some others not finding out! We can help each other when our impatience kicks in 😂

Congrats @Eastybaby19 💙

@Thirdtimesacharm3 that's such a wonderful way of looking at things - entirely individual and nothing to do with gender 💓 perfect!!

I had my 16wk appt on Friday and midwife said "oh heartrate of 150bpm, so that indicates a girl if you believe the old wives tale" and I DID feel a slight pang of disappointment which made me realise deep down I probably am wishing for one of each (got a daughter already).

I do think that a girl will be nice too like you say, a nice "best mates" bond. It'll be (almost) a 3 year age gap.
Me and my sister have 10 years between us so we are close but in a different way, because we have always been at very different life stages 🤷‍♀️
I'd like to see my daughter with a sister close in age!

havanamama · 18/09/2022 22:21

@LittleAcorn20 oh I didn’t know they check heart rate at 16 week midwife appointment ! Got mine soon, that will hopefully be reassuring !

Cats23 · 18/09/2022 23:12

havanamama · 18/09/2022 21:02

Yes how many kids you all want ?

This is #5 for me, 100% last one!
I thought 4 was enough but we decided 1x more.
I had blurred out how bad Nausea is for me - I remember now, from about 7weeks....and therefore def our last!!

hellosunshineagainxxx · 19/09/2022 01:56

havanamama · 18/09/2022 21:02

Yes how many kids you all want ?

This is my second and that will be it I think. I hate pregnancy and I had a big family growing up and actually it was horrible wouldn't recommend it to anyone theres never enough of anything including time with your parents.

Dreamingof3 · 19/09/2022 06:31

This is number 3 for us, definitely last 😂 we did say 2 was enough but we decided we both weren't done.

Have 2 girls already, I love their relationship as I have no sisters myself. I'm convinced we're having another girl and I'd be so happy with that...a boy would be a change 😂 but I'd be excited to find out it was a boy too

Franklin321 · 19/09/2022 07:13

Number 2 for us and I think that’ll be it. I’ve lost 3 babies though so feel very blessed with 2!

We’ve got our scan in a couple of weeks to find out what we’re having…I reckon boy and would be very happy with 2 boys 🥰

LittleAcorn20 · 19/09/2022 08:31

@havanamama yes they listen to heartbeat so that is reassuring. It does take them a little while to find it as baby has lots of space to hide still, so don't let that panic you ☺️
I didn't realise til this time round as well that the Doppler can pick up the sound of your own heartrate, so that's why the midwife said they advise against home Doppler's as you have to be sure your listening to baby's and not your own - thought that was really interesting!

Re number of kids I always thought I wanted 3 but we have had a number of health complications and bumps in the road fertility wise so.. I don't know whether to count myself lucky and stop at 2, it'll just be if I can make peace with that, which currently I am struggling to and I know doing the newborn days all over again will make it more impossible to resist trying again for the third. Think we would leave a much bigger gap though if we did - for sanity and finances sake! It's a bit of a hard question for me at the moment, I'm wrestling with my brain over it.

TeddyBeans · 19/09/2022 08:54

Heart rate doesn't mean much with regards to gender. My brother had a fast heartbeat, the midwife was convinced he was a girl. DS had a fast heartbeat too. Don't panic if they can't hear the heartbeat at your 16 week appointment - I've heard of some places not attempting to listen in because it causes too much anxiety if they can't find it.

We're stopping at 2. Pregnancy doesn't suit me regardless of how much I love it. We also only have a 2 bed flat at the moment and the area we live in is ridiculously expensive so it might be a while before the kids can have their own rooms. Adding another child would stretch us too much financially

Cdoc · 19/09/2022 09:34

This is my first but will stop at 2 (if we’re lucky enough to fall pregnant again in a few years time!). I’ve got my 16 week midwife appointment today so hoping she does the heartbeat!

havanamama · 19/09/2022 09:57

@Cdoc let us know how it went!

LittleAcorn20 · 19/09/2022 10:18

@TeddyBeans I know it's just an old wives tale 😅 my friend had a girl in July and screenshot me her badger notes heartrates all through pregnancy and they were all 'boy heartrates'.

I also learnt that even if they don't pick up heartbeat they can nearly always find the placenta whooshing noise and she said that indicates that baby is absolutely fine as the placenta is still healthy and circulating blood.

TeddyBeans · 19/09/2022 11:17

@LittleAcorn20 oh didn't know that about the placenta!

OP posts:
LittleAcorn20 · 19/09/2022 12:03

@TeddyBeans yeah she said - if we struggle to find heartbeat then hearing the placenta is just as good. Means all is well with baby if we can hear it. I had no idea either
