@hol92 we all do it scan-iety is a thing😂good luck and happy scan day!

Perexi · 16/09/2022 09:37

Good luck @hol92 I'm sure everything will be great but the anxiety is the worst! Hopefully you have a busy morning to take your mind off it.

ChristmasJumpers · 16/09/2022 09:42

Good luck @hol92, I was exactly the same yesterday. As it happens everyone else around me was nervous too but kept it from me until afterwards! Scanxiety is definitely a thing, let us know how you get on 💕

Flowerfan35 · 16/09/2022 10:40

Am definitely missing wine, we have a decent wine collection (not alcoholics lol but enjoy a glass so we buy good stuff). Husband has been v good and is saving the best stuff till I can drink again lol. Went on holiday to Spain and not being able to eat the gorgeous cured meats was heart breaking 😂At a wedding this weekend...hoping it's not pate to start and rare steak for main lol.

Am 14+1 so due date of 16th March which sounds close to a few others on here!

Cats23 · 16/09/2022 10:50

Morning all!
I had my scan yesterday, 12+1, Due Date is now 29th March!
I was so nervous going in but all ok, Baby was very wriggly and kept opening and closing mouthing , arms constantly moving about- So much so, my scan photo looks like they have a v.long nose!!
Midwife v helpful, first consultant appt next week ( I had pre-eclampsia in first pregnancy with DD being born at 27weeks, she is now 19! I was consultant led in last 3 pregnancies since with no problems) started on Asprin too!
This is the drawing my Ds made, we used it to tell everyone our news- Note Baby in my belly!

I’ve got 4 weeks 5 days till my scan (yes I’m counting 🫣), currently in week 16, so really hoping to soon start feeling solid movements otherwise my anxiety “am I still pregnant ?!” is growing day by day☹️

hol92 · 16/09/2022 13:11

Thank you everyone this morning wasn’t so bad as work was busy, now finished and will leave in a bit! It’s reassuring to know we are all like this, trying to eat 😂 x

LittleAcorn20 · 16/09/2022 13:21

I can't currently log into my Facebook, it's playing up otherwise I'd share on there.
But just a heads up that Seraphine has 30% off coats and outerwear at the moment.
Some absolutely lovely maternity to baby wearing coats and gilletts. The brand is such good quality and anything I had in last pregnancy was brilliant - she was summer baby though so never had a coat.
I also just chatted to a friend who says she still wears hers now and her boy is nearly 2, the website says they're designed so you can wear them forever. So they're quite pricey but I am going to invest because I think it'll be worn for years!

LittleAcorn20 · 16/09/2022 13:25

@Cats23 what an adorable drawing 😍 love it.
The baby is pink for a girl - wishful thinking or a premonition from your daughter maybe? 😁

Cats23 · 16/09/2022 14:00

@LittleAcorn20 , Thanks!
I have 2x DD and 2x Ds already- They all want a girl though!
Dp thinks a girl too, but.....I'm noy sure still, Gut feeling is boy!

hol92 · 16/09/2022 15:49

Scan went well 😃 feeling so much better now it was so lovely so see him/her kicking about - so we thinking girl or boy ? 😃 we couldn’t get a very good picture because of my awkward bladder haha! N.T was 1.0mm not sure if you thats good or not xx

TeddyBeans · 16/09/2022 18:51

@hol92 I'd be very surprised if that's not a boy 😁 NT of 1mm is very good I believe! Mine was 1.6 and that's well in the normal range. I don't know if there's a lower limit, I don't believe there is

Im also in week 16 and feel exactly the same @havanamama ! Trying to give myself lots of time with my feet up after little ones in bed to feel those flutters for reassurance. It’s such a strange period between scans and proper movement 😞

havanamama · 16/09/2022 20:48

@Ubbee is that a thing with feet up you get more blood flow and flutters?

Ubbee · 16/09/2022 20:57

@havanamama aah I just meant relaxing, I don’t find I feel anything at this stage if I’m running around busy, but if I chill out on the sofa and rest I am more likely to feel something.

havanamama · 16/09/2022 21:03

Haha I see 😅! I feel like I’m not feeling anything at all. Week 14 I felt something but now I think it was just stuff stretching

tonight I convinced I can see a belly, but it’s probably just the Chinese takeaway 😅

Cdoc · 17/09/2022 07:14

@TeddyBeans is your sex scan today? Good luck 🤞🏼🤍not that you need it, I have mine today and I’m so nervous I couldn’t sleep (not because I care about the sex, just a lot of scan anxiety!)

Babynum2 · 17/09/2022 08:25

@Cdoc mine is next weekend and im full of anxiety because all my family are going to be waiting at mine for me to do a gender reveal and i keep thinking what if they tell me something is wrong and i have to go home and everyones there.

babylemme · 17/09/2022 08:44

Hey everyone I thought I will join as I was following the chat for a while now. I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant with my second, due date on the 5th of March. I'm finding out the gender in about an hour 😊 very stressed haha wishing who are finding out today a good luck xx

Cdoc · 17/09/2022 09:11

@Babynum2 ah I completely understand that! It doesn’t help that much of the nausea has subsided and I can’t feel baby yet so it makes you question whether there is still a baby in there! Fingers crossed everything is fine for you ♥️

TeddyBeans · 17/09/2022 09:14

@Cdoc yes we find out today! Very excited, DS is almost visibly vibrating with anticipation ❤️ he's changed his mind almost daily about whether he wants a girl or a boy baby so it'll be nice to give him that definite answer and then we can all start preparing for little ones arrival. Enjoy your scan!

@babylemme welcome and congratulations! Enjoy your scan ❤️💙

16+1 today and had my 16 week antenatal appointment yesterday. Though it is my first baby, the midwife expected I would be feeling baby move soon if not currently because I'm quite petite.

I've been getting occasional mild jabbing sensations but not the bubbles/butterflies everyone talks about. Is this just uterine growth sensations or could it be baby? It's not painful but not the soft fluttering I was imagining.

I sound mad trying to explain it 😅

Eastybaby19 · 17/09/2022 10:17

@TeddyBeans good luck today for your gender scan!!
I'm currently in faro airport waiting to get on the plane back to Belfast & have my gender scan tomorrow & gender reveal! Anxious to make sure baby is ok etc

muminlndn · 17/09/2022 14:36

@LaForza101 it is mad trying to explain those early movements! I find it's very similar to how it feels when you're a bit gassy and the gas is moving around your abdomen. But obviously the baby 'gas' feeling will be confined to where the uterus is, and not coincide with actually passing gas otherwise it's hard to differentiate 😅
You can try lying down & prodding your belly a bit to provoke some baby movement

Babynum2 · 17/09/2022 16:09

@LaForza101 i wouldnt worry to much i didnt feel anything until 20 weeks with my first. Ive felt little movement and also 16 weeks i think if i didnt know what it felt like i wouldnt even think it was the baby.
