Hi ladies hope you are all ok.

I've been actively avoiding this thread for the last week I think. I am still waiting for the results but of my tests to come back to see if my bubs has Down's syndrome or not. It's been the longest week of my entire life. I've gone from having panic attacks and spending the nights awake sobbing to nothing. I currently feel completely detached from the pregnancy and baby, like it doesn't even exist. I know it's probably a coping mechanism of some kind but I'm worried that if all's well I won't be able to get that bond back, I just feel numb.

DH thinks we will get the results back tomorrow or Friday at the latest so we shall see!

I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Anyway I hope everyone's sickness is starting to decrease and you are all feeling a bit more human. I'm still feeling rubbish - was sick over night and this morning, am so over it now.

I think regardless of the outcome and what happens with this pregnancy I've decided to have my tubes tied afterwards. I can't ever go through this again I'm not mentally strong enough, and my risk will only get higher as I get older.

I always imagined ending my baby making journey would end on a high, I'm devastated that this is it

@Franklin321 that makes sense, thank you!

Been thinking about you and sending well wishes and hopes your way.
Do whatever you need to do to get some respite from what must be such a stressful time and look after yourself however you can mentally and physically xx

Perexi · 14/09/2022 22:40

Aww @alotoftutus been thinking of you and hoping you were doing ok. Try to be kind to yourself I can't imagine how stressful it is but hoping your results come back asap.

Is anyone started getting that brown line on there stomach ? :) x

I've had this since about 10 weeks. Not super dark, but visible enough that my partner noticed before I did!

TeddyBeans · 15/09/2022 06:46

@alotoftutus sending love. Hopefully you don't have to wait too much longer ❤️

Thanks ladies I appreciate the support.
Didn't want to come on here all doom and gloom.
I will update you once the results FINALLY come back. Feel like I've been waiting years.

havanamama · 15/09/2022 10:53

Hello! Did my savings plan + maternity.money schedule this morning and now feeling very happy with the year ahead! Can’t wait to take 1 year off work and devote it to motherhood!

next plan is to investigate baby groups, classes, etc to plan the fun stuff :)

been missing the baby lately, it feels odd to have such big gaps between scans and also not properly feeling the baby or having a bump gives me a bit of anxiety if everything is ok. I keep checking my boobs if they are still sensitive 😄 and my side profile in mirror to spot a bump

Bobduncan · 15/09/2022 10:54

@havanamama ha I'm the same! I do not feel pregnant at all, particularly now the tiredness and sickness has gone. I couldn't wait till the 20 week scan, so I've booked a 16 week gender reveal scan just to say hi again to the baby! 😍

LaForza101 · 15/09/2022 11:28

@havanamama I'm the same - other than an earlier bed time and bloating it's easy to forget there is a baby in there! I don't miss the nausea but I can't wait to have more signs all is well. It's my first so I'm not expecting to feel anything for a good while yet.

I need to also start looking at classes. I want to try pregnancy yoga but I feel like a bit of a fraud without a bump yet. I know that is silly

Choc2022 · 15/09/2022 14:21

Question for those with a little more experience/knowledge.

At what stage do you start applying stretch mark creams?

Tia x

havanamama · 15/09/2022 14:23

I’ve been doing body oils /lotions every night since I found out as I’ve previously had stretch marks due to weight fluctuations, but thankfully all have faded and are invisible now and no new ones so far.
I recommend bio oil :)

botleybump · 15/09/2022 15:17

No previous experience here, but I started slathering it on the minute I found out.
Figured it was best to get the nourishment in before my skin was asked to stretch etc.

I was only doing it in the morning, but around 14 weeks ish my belly started to get a bit itchy so I do it AM and PM now. Use a lotion in the morning and oil in the evening.

@ChristmasJumpers I think you might be right but just wanted to let you know that your name is on the photo if you wanted to ask mnhq to remove it

ChristmasJumpers · 15/09/2022 18:13

Thank you, I've asked them!

ChristmasJumpers · 15/09/2022 18:18

Trying again without my name on the scan!

Any nub or skull theory guesses on my little wrigglers 12 week scan?
