We haven't told anyone yet, but I'm bridesmaid for my friend in September and we have all these plans to get our nails, eyelashes, eyebrows and hair done etc and I don't think I can have some of it done anymore so I'm not sure if I should tell her... what do you guys think? It will be obvious if I'm not drinking prosecco on the wedding morning hahaha

Charl - I think you'll probably feel better after telling your mum :)

@Charl881 I would tell her if you are happy to. I’m waiting to tell mine when I see them face to face in two weeks but it’s taking everything for me to not tell her now over the phone. I always knew I would tell mine early on because if things go wrong I would want her support.

Charl881 · 25/08/2022 11:34

@Flowersflowers121 ahh that’s exciting! To be honest I’m of the view of there been nothing wrong with telling people if you’re also comfortable telling them you’ve had a miscarriage, sounds like good friends so I’m sure they’d want to know either way!

I definitely think you can still get nails and hair done btw. Not sure on eyelashes and eyebrows, might need to flag it at a patch test if you’re having them tinted?

Abymol · 25/08/2022 11:41

im studying for a diploma at the moment and just relised my final 2 tests are on my due date and 7 days later. I know I won’t when the time comes but right now I hope baby is a couple of weeks late 😬. I get six months off after those two tests

Theowlwhowasafraid · 25/08/2022 12:02

@Charl881 I’m about 5 weeks I think- I haven’t caved and done a digital yet! Honestly don’t wish for the nausea! Some people never get it and babies are perfectly fine. I’ve read it’s worse with girls (old woman was tale haha) but was true for me last time!

I haven’t told my parents yet, I definitely would though! If you want to tell your mum it’s a great comfort as she can support you which is invaluable!

sunshine1987 · 25/08/2022 12:42

I read this months ago and really stuck with me about how much pressure we put on ourselves

Hi, I’m also due in early May! . Got a positive on Tuesday with a digital and a first response today . I think I’m 13 DPO . It’s our first, so excited but equally anxious and worry if I have any cramps/ twinges. Is it too early to call GP?

Flowersflowers121 · 25/08/2022 13:15

Congrats @RRL33 :) I'm the same with being anxious at every twinge.

I called the GP and midwife last Friday which was 11dpo i think. They've registered me and I've now got my 8 week booking in appointment booked for September. No harm in calling now. Its my first too so they gave me all the details for my local EPU etc and discussed changing my daily medication so it was helpful for me x

@Theowlwhowasafraid I know I’ve heard that but I was quite sick and had a boy whereas my SIL who was due at the exact same time as me had a girl and no sickness so I’ve never believed it 😂 I think I’m just slightly too early on for it to hit her.

I ended up telling my mum, she was really pleased and I was right in that actually it’s relieved a bit of anxiety. It’s like I’ve told her and the world hasn’t stopped spinning, I’ve not just spontaneously miscarried because I’ve told someone.

@sunshine1987 I follow Lottie too and actually she was one of the people that made me think there isn’t anything wrong with telling people early.

Leanne053 · 25/08/2022 14:09

I might have to speak with my boyfriend about when we tell our parents! I've seen my mum and grandma today and I desperately wanted to blurt it out...instead I've ended up getting 3 bottles of wine that's on offer at Asda because I dare say no and give the game away 🤣🤣

sunshine1987 · 25/08/2022 14:20

@Charl881 ❤that’s it, you won’t allow something awful to happen by opening up. Glad it’s relieved some anxiety. It’s a long 8 weeks without support of others

Has anyone told their parents yet? I’m tempted to tell my mum today. I wanted to wait but we’re going on holiday with them next week, so was going to tell them then anyway. But I’m with her today so now thinking I might as well just tell her, think it will be almost a relief.

Ive told my mum as we're on holiday together and with my kids and it's pretty obvious with the whole lack of wine and one instant coffee! We won't tell anyone else for a good while now, telling someone close can really help with the anxiety.

Charl881 · 25/08/2022 17:20

@igglepigglegingin it was the lack of wine that would have given me away too! Hope you’re having a nice holiday.

Flowersflowers121 · 25/08/2022 20:03

Does anyone else's uterus feel super tight and it's uncomfortable to stand completely upright?? Haha I feel like I'm walking around the house like an old lady, bending over slightly

Me! I have a 7 mo DS so this was a shock- due 5th May!

Leanne053 · 25/08/2022 20:18

@Flowersflowers121 yes!!!! I started with it late last night and it's eased slightly today but I still feel heavy/bloated and just a bit uncomfortable! Up until today it was just my nipples that were sore but my boobs can be added to that list too. I'm tired and my back hurts 😂 and this is all at five week!!! I'm going to bed ridden come week 10 at this rate 😂!

Flowersflowers121 · 25/08/2022 20:23

Ahhh, I'm glad it's not just me hahaha it feels so odd!! But yeah, totally bloated, sore nipples, occasional lightning jolts down there too hahaha husband thinks I'm making it all up

@Flowersflowers121 if we get so many symptoms so early does it mean we get a break later down the line 😅😅

Theowlwhowasafraid · 25/08/2022 20:48

@Flowersflowers121 im with you on the lightening jolts! So uncomfortable. I remember last time I felt all smug cus I could nap and take it easy and now I’m trying to remember I’m pregnant whilst running around after a speedy 11 month old 😂😂 the lightening jolts whilst she insisted on being carried were not fun

RosieDal · 26/08/2022 09:33

Hi :)

Congratulations everyone, can I join?

Got my BFP on Monday. Not entirely sure how far along I am though, I have pcos and extremely irregular periods.

I'm guessing between 4 and 5 weeks!

Quite nervous as have had 2 MC in the past and a chemical in July. Feel like I want to test every day 😅

Summerwaves8 · 26/08/2022 09:33

Hey, I wasn’t sure which thread to join. BFP on 20th, pretty sure conceived on 5th/6th. Last period was 26th July for three days (cycles range from 23- 27 days). Think I’m due between 29th April - 2nd may. Boobs are super sore, really tired and I’ve turned into a right grump, feeling very irritated by everyone!
Congratulations all x

Leanne053 · 26/08/2022 09:43

Congratulations to you both 😀😀😀

Theowlwhowasafraid · 26/08/2022 09:45

Congratulations both of you ❤️❤️❤️

ZeppyLoo · 26/08/2022 10:08

Joining in! Got a faint positive yesterday but it’s much clearer today. Due very early May I think!

Congratulations to you both joining 💖

Glad I'm not the only one with lightning crotch!

I made myself some cereal this morning, put the spoon in my mouth and the bottom of it was covered in gunky old food (dishwasher not doing its job properly and OH blindly putting dirty cutlery away 🤦‍♀️) and omg have I been sick 🤮 still wretching now at the thought of it. Last thing you need when your already nauseous! 😂😂
