@Charl881 do you remember when you started to feel better? I last took 75mg on Saturday, was really hoping I would turn a corner today but still feel dizzy, hot, sickly and horrible brain zaps, electric feelings in my hands and face! I'm due back at work on Saturday and can't face it feeling like this!

Bananabreakfast123 · 24/08/2022 13:25

@Leanne053 I had planned to stop testing once I got the BFP on digital. Got it today but have two FRERs arriving today and I'm not technically late until the weekend so might use the FRERs Friday and Sunday just to see the lines get darker then stop and hopefully just enjoy this stage until it's scan time.

Is anyone having an early scan? Mentioned to DH but not sure he's keen. Don't know much about them.

Leanne053 · 24/08/2022 13:43

@Bananabreakfast123 ahh right okay that makes sense then! I was just looking at early private scans myself mainly because me and my boyfriend don't want to tell anyone until the first NHS scan but all my friends have planned a get together the first weekend in October if I'm not drinking it will instantly be obvious 😂 so I'm unsure what to do!

Flowersflowers121 · 24/08/2022 13:51

@isitaline97 yayyyyyy hehe so happy for you!! My supposed due date is 2nd May, and my birthday is April 30th so also very close hahaha

@Bananabreakfast123 im thinking about it. I did with my first which was really reassuring after a mc I’d had before. I really want to this time but it’s just an expense I’m not sure I need right now 🙈 I say that but I bet I will go for one 😂

Theowlwhowasafraid · 24/08/2022 14:18

I’ll probably have an early scan! We did with my first as had a MC before and it was a great experience to know all was okay in there before 12w-it feels such a long stretch before that scan. I honestly recommend them! Around 7 weeks and it does make you feel better

isitaline97 · 24/08/2022 15:18

@Flowersflowers121 aah what a coincidence! My birthday is April 25th, feeling so anxious now I hope they stick for us! 🥰

Congrats to all others on the thread too ☺️

dobby13 · 24/08/2022 15:22

Anyone else struggling with early symptoms, or just me? I'm absolutely exhausted, am peeing like a champion and for some reason am waking up at 5 every day and then can't get back to sleep 😂

Also considering an early scan around 8 weeks - hoping it'll help ease some of the nervousness and anxiety.

Jade8119 · 24/08/2022 15:27

@Bananabreakfast123 I’m not late until the weekend either so I’m doing the same. Not sure about the early scan, for those that have had one I’ve read you have an internal probe. Is it safe, is it painful?
Took another First response early result this morning and an Amazon cheapie, below, looks darker but I will maybe wait until Friday to do another?

We had an early scan with our little boy and really helped us, that was about 7 weeks. Second time around i don’t think we can afford it (poor second child is going to get this a lot lol)

palmerita · 24/08/2022 16:04

I will be booking at early scan around 7 weeks, I did it with my first and it does help with that anxiety until the 12 week scan. I'm still testing every other day and my lines are very strong now so 🤞🏼 I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow x

sunshine1987 · 24/08/2022 16:05

You only have an internal probe if you have a scan really early doors, like 6 weeks or so. Around 8 weeks would be enough to have it external I would have thought

Charl881 · 24/08/2022 16:08

@Leanne053 I can’t to be honest but I think I halved from 75 rather going for cold Turkey, used to split the capsules open and take the mini pills within them!

@dobby13 yeah the exhaustion is real! No sickness yet though thank god.

@Jade8119 they only use the internal if they can’t see anything on the abdominal scan, if you go at about eight weeks you shouldn’t need an internal one.

I really want a scan but DP not keen. Like some of you others I had one with my DS but can’t really justify the cost this time around. I think it helps break down the wait to 12 weeks though.

isitaline97 · 24/08/2022 16:27

@dobby13 I've felt really nauseous these past 2 days to the point of loudly dry heaving 🤦‍♀️😂 I'm taking it as a good sign! I've also been a little crampy. This is my first pregnancy so I didn't even realise your able to get a private scan earlier, definitely something to think about!

Theowlwhowasafraid · 24/08/2022 16:29

@Jade8119 they only do internal if you’re about 6 weeks, if you’re about 8 then they should see unless you’ve got a tilted uterus (like me!) and that can make it harder. Internal is fine though, doesn’t hurt, just a bit strange! We used window to the womb and they were fab

catc7 · 24/08/2022 16:49

@dobby13 I am so tired! I was working from home on Monday and had to have a nap at lunch which I never do! Although being in the office seems to make it better as I can’t focus on it so much.

Also been getting cramps. Like period pain but not as bad.

Haven’t felt too nauseous but have lost my appetite and I love food usually. Did gag at the dog food though…

Bananabreakfast123 · 24/08/2022 17:29

@Jade8119 had the same thought on the scan. Will need to research. Part of me is too impatient and absolutely desperate to see the baby but the other part is super cautious and wants to avoid any unnecessary probing. Will see if my impatience gets the better of me.

I was thinking I'd skip a day testing and test Friday too. In all my late night TWW forum stalking, I've seen loads of people say hormone levels double every 48 hours so you'll see a more obvious progression if you wait. Something to get me out of bed on Friday morning 🤞

Bananabreakfast123 · 24/08/2022 18:14

@tryingtryinggone I'm kind of the same. Thinking it's not necessary but I'll probably cave and book because I'm so impatient 😬 I see so many people talking about it and I've got fear of missing out 😂

tryingtryinggone · 24/08/2022 19:30

@Jade8119 i had to have it internally and that was at 8 weeks. I think when you’re carrying a bit of extra weight (which I am 🙈) they can struggle to see through the abdomen so early on. It was absolutely fine though and didn’t hurt.

@sunshine1987 i feel you with that. This poor second child is going to be in all hand me downs 😂

SunshineMile92 · 25/08/2022 08:11

Hi Everyone, so excited to join this thread! I originally had a BPN at 10dpo but then my period didn't arrive and I got a BFP!!! Was super shocked and very happy, still trying to digest the news. My 1st doc appt isn't for 2 weeks which feels like an age as I have no idea what to do with myself 😆
My due date according to Flo is 3rd May... so exciting xxx

Leanne053 · 25/08/2022 08:19

@SunshineMile92 congratulations 🥳😁!

Flowersflowers121 · 25/08/2022 08:32

Yayyy!! Congrats! :)

Congrats everyone! So many babies due ❤️❤️❤️

im starting to feel a bit nauseous which is so scary after HG, trying to stay positive 🥲

Charl881 · 25/08/2022 11:01

@Theowlwhowasafraid oh no sorry to hear that! Fingers crossed it’s just a bit of nausea this time around. How far along are you?

Nausea hasn’t hit me yet which is both good and making me intermittently worry!

Charl881 · 25/08/2022 11:17

Has anyone told their parents yet? I’m tempted to tell my mum today. I wanted to wait but we’re going on holiday with them next week, so was going to tell them then anyway. But I’m with her today so now thinking I might as well just tell her, think it will be almost a relief.
