@TTCourfirst If you were pregnant with twins the first time then your hormone levels must have been through the roof and that's bound to impact. I haven't had any boob soreness yet at all (on a normal cycle I always get boob pain) but I guess it's meant to be different if our hormone levels are different

bossgirl94 · 30/08/2022 07:28

Anyone else ringing up their GP today? I have no idea what to say still can't quite believe it

Melusina123 · 30/08/2022 07:33

Edging cautiously into this thread...

I'm 4w2d today, but it's been a bit of a journey - this is cycle 7 for us, and there's been two miscarriages along the way already - one at 5w and one at 8w. So I don't know when (if ever) I'll feel entirely secure about this one.

Got a very faint positive at 10DPO, then a clearer faint positive at 11, then a clearly positive FRER at 12DPO. Now going to try and stop testing. Getting a positive at 3w4d does make the 1st Tri feel like it's going to be forever though.😩

Who's called the GP/EPAU yet? It's early days but I'm thinking of doing it soon in case there is anything they want me to do differently given history of MC (although the vibe when it happened was very much 'it's just one of those things' so idk if they will).

noorii · 30/08/2022 07:34

So I am 5 weeks today and just got my dye stealer. It’s such a relief to see! Of course anything can still happen but it’s nice to know my levels are increasing 🙏🏾 I have one more digital weeks test which I’ll be using towards the end of this week and hopefully that will be 3+

After that I’ll be holding out till my early scan at just over 8 weeks on the 22nd!

Is there a 'Due May 2023' thread?

I’ve decided to set myself little milestones to get through this pregnancy after loss. I’m 4 weeks on 2nd Sep and I’ve decided to go for a nice walk with DH that day. Then at 5 weeks I’m going to inform doctor and midwife that I’m pregnant. Then 6 weeks I’m going to book myself in an early scan for when I’m around 7 weeks

sunshine1987 · 30/08/2022 08:57

@Melusina123 i can’t even imagine all those emotions of wanting to feel excited but protecting yourself too. I would contact your midwife unit/EPU just to see, I know with my friend they just asked her to take baby aspirin to see if that third pregnancy it made a difference. So they might recommend something like that

@bossgirl94 here we don’t deal with a GP, we have to self refer through the hospital to a midwife. Might be worth googling your NHS trust and seeing if they have something similar or your doctors website?

congratulations to everyone else on your positives ❤

Melusina123 · 30/08/2022 10:16

@TTCRand this sounds very smart to me. When you're worried about loss I think anything that keeps you in the moment (i.e. I'm still pregnant today, whatever tomorrow brings) is good.

@sunshine1987 yeah this sounds sensible! Just started the self-referral and got quite anxious about self-referring then having to ring them up and take it back a few days later. So might give myself a couple more days and then bite the bullet.

Of course you can end up on the wrong side of the odds but it's sometimes good to have a reminder that really the odds are on your side!

Flowersflowers121 · 30/08/2022 10:21

I am SO nauseous at the moment :( it's horrible. Anyone got any tips for keeping it at bay?

I've thrown up the last 3 nights in a row, and today is the first morning where I feel like I'll actually throw up as well, rather than just feeling queasy

toddlertired · 30/08/2022 10:52

Tentatively shuffling into the thread - have had positives since Thursday and today am 4w 1 day (according to Flo anyway). Second baby, but had two chemicals earlier this year so finding it hard to manage the conflicting feelings of excitement that we’ve had a positive test with dread about what might come next… we’re going on holiday for a couple of weeks so I hope that helps distract me.

With my first i had “morning” sickness every day for a lot of it - i found nibbling on something like crackers/biscuits helped with the nausea, making sure you’re hydrated and get as much rest as you can. It was always worse when I was tired. It’ll hopefully settle down as your body gets used to the hormones…

Bananabreakfast123 · 30/08/2022 13:27

I tried to self refer to the midwife yesterday but they said you can't do it until 6 or 7 weeks. Feel like it's going to be a longer wait than the

Bananabreakfast123 · 30/08/2022 13:29

Aaaah posted too early. Feels like the wait to refer will be worse than the TWW.

Still feeling quite sick, especially during the night and in to the morning. Have started taking tea biscuits to bed in case I wake up and that seems to help come morning time. It's horrible having the nausea but then any time it goes away and I feel better I also panic about why it's gone away. I'm definitely going to drive DH mad over the next 8 months!

RugbyGirl1 · 30/08/2022 13:50

Hey ladies, tentatively joining the group. Had a faint BFP on a cheapie yesterday and a good line on a FRER today at around 10dpo. We've only ever had one Bfp before, almost a year ago to the day, which ended in an early loss so like some of you, a little torn between celebrating and nervousness... Due date would be 11 May according to NHS website

gretathebetter · 30/08/2022 15:39

May I join too please ☺️ EDD: 12th May. 🥰

@Flowersflowers121 bless you! I've had HG will all my pregnancies. So expecting it again tbh. I would say that if you get to the point you're utterly miserable and struggling please see a doctor. They can prescribe various anti emetics. I wouldn't have coped without.

In the meantime I found very cold drinks (lucozade for me!) and crackers my saviours. I feel for you. It's debilitating. And don't feel bad if you need to call in sick to work. If you had D&V you'd need to...just because it's pregnancy related doesn't make you less poorly. Sending hugs xxx

Flowersflowers121 · 30/08/2022 15:42

Welcome to all the fresh BFP's!! :)

Thanks for the tips and advice @gretathebetter <3 this is my 1st, so feeling a little lost occasionally but glad to have helpful people like you to guide us hahaha :) I will send the hubby when he's home for some crackers and maybe some ginger beer haha xx

Hi all

Hope you don’t mind me joining this thread. I got my BFP last Wednesday at 10 DPO so am still very early on but it is all I can think about! I don’t have many symptoms at all yet, slight sore boobs every so often and very little appetite in the morning. I have had a lot of CM though (sorry), hoping this is normal?

thanks

Flowersflowers121 · 30/08/2022 16:25

It's cut off half of my message for some reason... hahaha but I was explaining how its my first child so it's really nice to have other's tips and stuff xxx

Welcome @toddlertired @RugbyGirl1 @gretathebetter @Doodle10 - and congrats! I've got due date 7 May so just a smidge ahead of you. :)

@Bananabreakfast123 it's annoying how different it is across NHS trusts. I just self-referred (via web form) today at 4w2d - last time did it around 5w with no objections. Planning to ring them later in the week to try and get myself on the early scan list since I'm on 2 miscarriages, and have a history of anxiety.

(Not that I'm feeling very anxious - as I said upthread I feel very detached from the whole thing ATM.)

calipoppy · 30/08/2022 16:50

Welcome to all the new BFPs! @RugbyGirl1 I recognise you from the TTC threads, congratulations!!

I just referred to the GP today at 5 +1. I think that's the earliest I've ever done it but I just want to get the ball rolling as I'll be under the care of foetal medicine this time so would rather sooner than later!

Thank you so much for sharing this link ❤️

RugbyGirl1 · 30/08/2022 17:21

Thanks @calipoppy and @Melusina123! I just looked at my CCG website and they say to self refer after 6 weeks so got a little time to wait yet.... Will definitely be booking an early private scan or two after last time but this feels so different, in a really positive, good way. I just hope the little nut is a sticky one! How come you'll be under care @calipoppy? Sorry to hear about your previous losses @Melusina123 😔

Melusina123 · 30/08/2022 17:50

@RugbyGirl1 it's s such a rollercoaster, isn't it? We've had a very compressed ride - 3 BFPs in 7 active cycles (plus 2 cycles where we consciously avoided), which has been tough in its own way but having a year of BFNs must have been really difficult.

I'm feeling a bit pessimistic this time round, but 🤞 for sticky ones for both of us. :)

calipoppy · 30/08/2022 18:13

@RugbyGirl1 I had to have a TFMR at 17 weeks in April as my baby hadn't developed any kidneys 💔 now that it's happened once we have a much higher repeat risk so they'll be scanning me at 13 weeks to check everything is ok. 🤞🤞🤞

catc7 · 30/08/2022 18:21

@Flowersflowers121 I am so nauseous too. Everything makes me gag and have lost my appetite. I’m only 5 weeks! I have anxiety as well which is not helping the situation. Had no sleep last night!

RugbyGirl1 · 30/08/2022 18:37

@Melusina123 everyone has their own personal journeys and ups and downs in different ways and each one is just as difficult. 3BFPs in 7 cycles must have been heartbreaking. To be honest, I rarely tested as AF would arrive 10dpo so there was little time / point! How come you're feeling pessimistic? Have you been prescribed progesterone or anything else that may help?

Oh @calipoppy that sounds so tough! At least they're doing some extra care and scans to keep an eye on it all 😊

@catc7 I have a massive sick phobia... Not sure how I'm going to cope with morning sickness!!! Sorry to hear you've had little sleep. Eating little and often may help with the nausea apparently?

calipoppy · 30/08/2022 18:40

Thanks @RugbyGirl1 I'm trying to see it as just an extension of the usual 12 weeks risky period but it is hard knowing we might have to go through a termination again. All we can do is hope!

Sorry to hear some of you feel sick already! Mine usually kicks in around 7 weeks so currently eating as much nutrients as possible before my diet becomes very beige! I'm thinking about trying acupuncture for it this time as I've read it can help, worth a go!
