@2mumlife thinking of you today xx

Overlyanxious · 15/09/2022 15:00

@2mumlife hope all is going well x

Bryterlayter1 · 15/09/2022 16:31

Maybe no news is good news for @2mumlife. Hoping baby is (naturally) on it's way.

Bryterlayter1 · 17/09/2022 09:59

How's everyone doing? I'm 30+5 today and I'm hoping the weeks go quickly now. I'm starting insulin tonight because my fasting blood sugars are still high and metformin isn't enough. So many injections, luckily I don't mind needles.

Hope everyone 3rd trimester is progressing well, not long now.

Bluehawaii29 · 17/09/2022 11:03

@Bryterlayter1 heyy aww sorry to hear your on insulin now, but will be better to control sugar. I’m good thanks, 31 weeks now, hoping time goes fast too, 1 more week left of pessaries thankfully! I remember celebrating stopping them when i was 12 weeks then had to take them again for the last 11 weeks and rectally which gets hard when you also have haemorrhoids lol

Bluehawaii29 · 23/09/2022 16:49

Hey guys how is everyone doing??

Overlyanxious · 24/09/2022 13:02

@Bryterlayter1 how are you finding the insulin?

@Bluehawaii29 I'm ok thanks. Counting down the weeks - and wanting to be at 36 weeks for my next scan. I'm currently 33 weeks. How are you?

Bluehawaii29 · 24/09/2022 13:07

@Overlyanxious yeah the counting down never ends haha I’m good, made it to 32 weeks :) am trying to go out a bit more again at a gradual pace and get my legs moving. It’s getting very heavy now though, sleeping is difficult. How you finding it?

Overlyanxious · 24/09/2022 13:29

@Bluehawaii29 wow 32 weeks. my sleep is terrible at the moment - I wake up in the night and take ages to get back to sleep. The top of my left leg often aches in bed as well. Also found I'm getting swollen feet and ankles more often. I've been walking a fair bit and I find my back aches less with the more I walk - so that's a positive.

Bluehawaii29 · 24/09/2022 13:35

@Overlyanxious yeah don’t look forward to the nights, I was getting a lot of pressure pain in my ribs when I would lie on my side earlier this week but luckily is better with a pillow on my side. I still can’t sleep with maternity pillow but normal pillow helps me. I haven’t really got the leg cramps yet, have heard they are very common. Gaviscon helps when I have heartburn. Ive finally finished the pessaries as well so that’s a big relief not having to get up early for that!

Bryterlayter1 · 24/09/2022 18:39

@Overlyanxious hopefully the next 3 weeks will fly by to the next scan. I know what you mean about leg cramps I get them most nights too. Harsh way to wake up with cramped legs.

@Bluehawaii29 hope you find a way to get comfy at night. Bit of an uphill battle with a tiny human in your abdomen.

The GD is being a pain, the insulin isn't bringing my fasting levels down enough so every 2-3 days my dossage is being increased. Because of the insulin, I need to test before I drive and if my levels are below a certain level it's not safe for me to drive. The other day I got stuck at work for an extra hour because I was in a hypo and needed to eat something sugary to bring up my levels. I need to start carrying dextrose tablets or jelly babies with me to quickly adjust out of hypos. My blood sugar levels are all over the place. Too high in the mornings, crashing during the day unless i eat every 2-3 hours. It's getting a bit tedious.

Bluehawaii29 · 25/09/2022 09:19

@Bryterlayter1 awwno sounds terrible! Sorry to hear you’re having a Tough time with it. It must be scary thinking that you might have a hypo. Just take it easy and hope you don’t have to increase the insulin anymore x

Dueinjan23 · 25/09/2022 10:33

Hi Ladies,
im hoping it’s ok to write. I have been reading this thread for a few months too scared to write in case I jinx it but given up today. Congratulations to you all.
We are currently 22 weeks pregnant with a tested embryo after a rough journey of years of losses, so it all feels rather surreal. Everything has been going so smoothly this time but on a scan on Friday, it showed a shortened cervix - I think 2.20 although at one point it was 1.90. The registrar we spoke to put the fear of god into us but sent us home until Tuesday when he asked us to report to the labour ward at 8am for a possible stitch, although my placenta is low so it might not be possible. Sadly, our consultant wasn’t there on Friday so we were only scanned by a sonographer and as she was doing overtime we were in and out within 5 mins (no joke). I think @Bluehawaii29 you had something similar? I have been put back on cyclogest twice a day, it brings back memories! I have googled way too much and read complete horror stories that I now feel a bit of pain down there (sorry for TMI) but can’t work out if that is in my mind or real. Just wish we could fast forward to 36 weeks!

Bluehawaii29 · 25/09/2022 10:49

@Dueinjan23 hi congrats and welcome to the group! Yes I had a scan at 20 weeks where cervix was 2.4cm so they said it’s shorter and then rescanned me a week later after telling me to take progesterone after which time it had shortened to 1.8cm. I then had an emergency cerclage that day and had to take progesterone pessaries up till 32 weeks. I have also been on modified bed rest since this time. When is your next scan and I would push for the stitch as they are very effective in increasing chances of a term baby x

Dueinjan23 · 25/09/2022 13:44

@Bluehawaii29 thank you. I actually called the hospital after posting as my pain/pressure was getting worse. Luckily all signs appear to show my cervix is still closed but they have admitted me to try and bring the stitch forward from Tuesday to tomorrow and as a precaution due to the pain. Must say, only been on the ward for 20 mins and it’s not great, it just feels so claustrophobic. Oh for a simple pregnancy!

Bluehawaii29 · 25/09/2022 14:23

@Dueinjan23 aww that’s good they will bring forward the stitch, you will be fine x
the wards are always crazy, hated staying overnight post stitch. Hopefully you’ll be out of there soon

2mumlife · 25/09/2022 19:44

Hi everyone,

A belated message to let you know we had our little miracle on the 12th September. We had an 8lb7oz girly, unfortunately born my forceps at 5pm after I laboured with TENS machine, birth pool and gas and air from 10pm the night before. It’s been an incredibly overwhelming 2 weeks but have so much love for her.

Hope you’re all well x

Bryterlayter1 · 25/09/2022 20:22

@2mumlife huge congratulations to you and your partner. So pleased to hear your little one is here.

Overlyanxious · 25/09/2022 20:29

@2mumlife congratulations 🎉 so glad to hear all is well and you have your little miracle. x

Overlyanxious · 25/09/2022 20:32

@Dueinjan23 good luck with your stitch. Glad to hear you are getting it sorted sooner. Hope the stay in hospital isn't too bad

Bluehawaii29 · 25/09/2022 20:52

@2mumlife amazing to hear your positive outcome and that you are enjoying life with your baby! Realy happy for you, stay in touch 🎉🎉

Dueinjan23 · 26/09/2022 11:25

@2mumlife congratulations on the safe arrival of your daughter x

little update from me, our consultant came and found me today for a rescan and the scan on Friday was incorrect and I do not have a short cervix today. He was very apologetic on behalf of the sonographer and is going to rescan me on Friday just to be 100%. He had a look at the pictures from Friday and said she had missed a section of it which is why he got 3.8 and she got 2.1! Fingers crossed for Friday - now home for a shower and sleep!

Bluehawaii29 · 27/09/2022 17:43

@Dueinjan23 thats great news! Glad you don’t have to go through what I have been through, it’s been such a tough journey. Glad it’s nearly over, I had my 32 week growth scan today and baby now on 60th centile, still growing well and weighs nearly 2kg. They said placenta and blood flow looked good, was just slight drop in abdo circumference compared to previous but they said nothing to worry about and will just scan in 2 weeks so I guess it’s good I get to see her more. Will be pretty much every 2 weeks now. They are particularly comfortable to do but just glad we got called early for once today!

Overlyanxious · 28/09/2022 11:50

@Bluehawaii29 that's all sounding good and nice you get to see her every 2 weeks. I find some appointments I get called early and others I end up waiting an hour.

@Dueinjan23 that's good news and fingers crossed for Friday.

xreadytoglow · 28/09/2022 14:46

Congratulations @2mumlife 🤍! I'm sorry the birth wasn't what you wanted but I'm sure it's all worth it. Enjoy those newborn snugs.

Glad everyone else seems to be getting on okay! @Bluehawaii29 @Overlyanxious @Bryterlayter1 I hope they can sort out your GD a bit better for you, sounds frustrating.

Welcome @Dueinjan23! I bet you're so relieved you don't need a stitch. Just goes to show how much measurements change from operator to operator!! I hope it's smooth sailing for you now!
