Hi @Justhopeful thank you for including me however I had not so good news from a scan and so I’ll need to leave this thread.
wish you all the best with your pregnancies xxx

EasterBunny7 · 17/07/2022 14:04

@birdbybird I'm so terribly sorry to hear of your loss. If you would like to talk about it, we are here for you. I will remove you from the due date list. I wish you all the best with your next try.

If anyone else would like to be removed from the list, please do let me know. I've made a conscious effort to delete older lists so that there aren't syncing issues (people copying and pasting the wrong list) and also for situations like this where the poster suffers a loss.

@EasterBunny7 thanks for starting this thread, it's just what I was looking for!

Hi everyone, just a bit of background: following an IVF frozen transfer I'm 5 weeks (16dp5dt). My OTD was a few days ago, but got a faint positive from 4DP5DT. Slight dye stealer from 12DP5DT which is reassuring after a chemical pregnancy following a fresh transfer in March.

I'm now waiting for my first scan in early August and constantly on edge with every little twinge I feel, which I'm sure you all understand! I have been wondering if I should pay for a hcg test (my clinic doesn't offer them). Also wondering if I should tell my manager tomorrow as I have quite a physical job and she already knows about the IVF? Any advice appreciated. If all goes to plan I'll be due in March 23.

Hope you're all coping well in this heat

EasterBunny7 · 17/07/2022 22:37

@thatismahogany congratulations and welcome to the group! I think we are at the exact same stage: I'm 5 weeks today (16dp5dt) but strangely we have different due dates?

The dye stealer test sounds positive! I have yet to get to that stage. With your manager, you're lucky she hasn't twigged you're pregnant despite knowing about the IVF. I didn't feel too comfortable announcing to my manager, as there are so many other people who I would want to know beforehand, but my manager kept asking about it! The important thing is that my company were supportive of me going through IVF so I just had to suck it up and deal with the weirdness of it all. Considering you do heavy lifting at work, I would definitely tell them. Better that the baby is protected. No idea whether paying for hcg beta bloods are worth it, I'm sure someone else can say.

What kind of symptoms are you currently having?

thatismahogany · 17/07/2022 23:33

@EasterBunny7 thank you 😊when I say March 23 I meant 2023. I won't know the exact due date until my 7 week scan (the clinic info advises FETs might be dated differently?!). But an online calculator says 19th March 23. How nice to find someone at the exact same stage.

And I'm lucky my manager isn't too pushy, she waits until I volunteer information. But since she knows we're trying, I thought I might as well let her know as I don't think I'll experience any backlash. If anything it will help me relax.

Symptom wise I've been very tired, I think a bit more than when I started FET meds. I have also had a few twinges here and there, and am really bloated. I had a "heavy" PMS like feeling a couple of days ago which made me panic but it's gone now. Also strange dreams, headaches and nausea on and off, but that could be anxiety!

How are you feeling? It's good your clinic were so responsive in increasing your progesterone. I hope the bleeding has completely slowed down now. Do they monitor your progesterone levels, just out of interest?

Justhopeful · 17/07/2022 23:35

@EasterBunny7 thanks, counting the days till my scan on Friday. Not knowing if it's a viable pregnancy is quite scary. 12 days to go for you, not long now. Are you having any symptoms? Yesterday was the first time I have serious nausea could barely do anything, but today I just felt tired.

@thatismahogany congrats on your BFP. I'll tell my line manager soon as I am sure this will come with appointments. How will you manage with your job and the 1sf trimester since your job is physical?

I hope everyone is doing okay?

thatismahogany · 17/07/2022 23:51

@Justhopeful thank you 😊

And due to working long shifts (healthcare) I had to tell my manager to be able to attend the clinic. Although I'm sure the people I work with would have swapped shifts. They're a good bunch to work with really, I hurt my shoulder a while back (non-work related) and they were all insistent that I didn't do anything that might make it worse. And we have safe moving and handling practices anyway, but I would like her to know in case a situation comes up and I feel unsafe.

How are you feeling? I see you're waiting to have another scan after a very early one, I hope you get to see more this time

EmzieMurf1987 · 18/07/2022 09:47

@thatismahogany oh congratulations and welcome to the group! Sorry to hear about your previous CP, I really hope this one sticks for you 🤞🏼🤞🏼 My clinic also don’t do HCG either - I was going to do my own but decided against it as felt it would cause me more anxiety and Dr Google would come out and tell me awful things 😂😂 but everyone is different so just do what you feel will make you more comfortable.

I also work in healthcare (lovely to see a fellow worker here 😘😘) and I’ve had to tell mine, they were brilliant to be fair, I was entitled to 2 weeks special paid leave during my IVF treatment which I would never have known If I’d kept quiet! Also now on the sick till at least august due to the OHSS. When I go back will need a pregnancy risk assessment to ensure I’m safe so I’d let them know so they can do the same for you! Usually it’s no moving and handling, not working in high risk areas with infectious patients etc, that sort of thing. But it sounds like your team are super supportive and you will be well looked after.

@EasterBunny7 i do like the due date list, it just won’t let me copy and paste it to add myself onto it 😂😂 hope your alright 😘

@Justhopeful we are scan buddies, also have mine on Friday too! I truest hope everything goes well for you and you get good news and that it was just too early to see anything. Do you have any plans to keep you busy and pass the time? Xx

Plantsandcoffee · 18/07/2022 10:52

Hi ladies,
Unfortunately I’ve had a bit of bad news today and so I’m going to have to come out of the group. Wishing you all the best with your pregnancies
X

EasterBunny7 · 18/07/2022 11:33

@Plantsandcoffee I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. I hope you are ok? If you would like to talk to us, we are here for you.

Each time we lose a member from our group, it is a dreadful reminder of how precarious IVF is. But, I still believe that for the duration that we are pregnant, it is ok to acknowledge (and celebrate) that we are or were!

ChristmasJumpers · 18/07/2022 13:40

Can I please join? I can't believe I'm joining a due date group after 3.5 years TTC. I've never had a positive test throughout TTC and was formally diagnosed with unexplained infertility (but IVF clinic say I have PCOS so who knows!)

This is our first round, 25 eggs collected, 7 fertilised and 1 blast at 5 days. We had a freeze all and now 6dp5dt. It feels very surreal but absolutely amazing!! Due date 30th March 2023 from my own calculations.

IVFers Due Mar & Apr 2023
EasterBunny7 · 18/07/2022 14:07

Welcome @ChristmasJumpers and congratulations on your early positive! How are you feeling so far?

OP posts:
ChristmasJumpers · 18/07/2022 14:12

@EasterBunny7 thank you, I know it's very early days but we're enjoying it while we've got it 🥰

I'm feeling fab, a few cramps here and there but only mild. Very hungry!! Haha

I haven't read through the whole thread yet but will do, it's so lively to have a group of people who really understand what this means after IVF.

I'll be on Estradiol, Lubion and Utrogestan until further notice. OTD is this coming Saturday.

Amy00 · 18/07/2022 14:35

Hi everyone. I'd like to join in if that's ok!

This is our first ivf cycle, first fresh transfer. Only 7dp5dt, due date is 29 March. Can't actually believe we got a BFP first time, I feel really lucky to have got this far so soon. However, our problem hasn't been (until relatively recently) getting pregnant but more the staying pregnant that is the issue, I've had 5 early miscarriages previously ranging from chemical to 7 weeks. Then we stopped conceiving at all so turned to ivf!

I had some brown spotting and cramps yesterday which totally freaked me out and convinced me it was all over but the line was darker this morning and the spotting seems to have stopped although still getting some mild cramping.

Really hoping we all get our babies at the end of this!! 🤞🤞

EmzieMurf1987 · 18/07/2022 14:59

@Plantsandcoffee so sorry to hear this, my thoughts are with you. Please look after yourself and take all the time you need to heal 💐💐 like @EasterBunny7 said we are here if you ever want to talk xx

ChristmasJumpers · 18/07/2022 15:08

@Amy00 we're one day apart, welcome! So sorry to hear about your previous losses. When is your OTD?

It's funny as I've been worried about not spotting! Our minds just go into overdrive don't they! Haha

EmzieMurf1987 · 18/07/2022 15:08

Aw welcome @ChristmasJumpers and @Amy00 lovely to have you guys here with us!! Your both so brave testing early! I couldn’t do it 😂 and that your first rounds were also successful! It’s also my first round and feel incredibly blessed to be where I am now, was fully expecting to do several transfers before getting a BFP but here we are 🙏🏼.

@ChristmasJumpers don’t you think lubion hurts like a b**ch for ages afterwards!! All absolutely worth it though! Xx

@Amy00 sounds like the spotting was implantation 🤞🏼🤞🏼 And cramps all totally normal xx

EasterBunny7 · 18/07/2022 15:08

@ChristmasJumpers not judging at all. I created this group whilst in PUPO and I started testing at 3/4dp5dt. I'm currently on a variety of medication myself but the clexane injections are doing a number on my stomach. More bruising than I've ever had before.

OP posts:
EasterBunny7 · 18/07/2022 15:11

@Amy00 welcome and congratulations to you too! Sorry to hear about your natural miscarriages, did you get tested by the recurrent miscarriage unit? They can help determine an underline cause. Spotting has been part of my journey too, several times and a major source of anxiety.

OP posts:
EasterBunny7 · 18/07/2022 15:14

Sorry for the TMI, but I've had an upset stomach after lunch today and concerned. I had a dish prepared yesterday, which I had no problems with yesterday and it smelled and tasted perfectly fine today. Yet, suddenly my tummy is not happy. They say food poisoning can cause miscarriages. So far, I'm visiting the loo but no fever, vomiting, dizziness etc. Does a pregnant woman's body handle food differently?

OP posts:
ChristmasJumpers · 18/07/2022 15:34

@EmzieMurf1987 I feel incredibly lucky that it's worked first time. I had 25 eggs collected so thought we'd have lots of frozen embryos just in case. As we only got the one I'm beyond relieved it's worked. We have absolutely no money for further rounds so please stick baby!!! And yes lubion stings so bad!! I have a couple of bruises on one side too but the stinging lasts into the next day :(. 100% worth it though and I'll gladly continue through the 1st trimester if I can.

@EasterBunny7 bruising is the worst, it makes it so much harder to pinch the skin to inject.

When are you all planning to tell people? Pretty much everyone knows we've gone for IVF and knew about egg collection afterwards as I was quite ill from it. We haven't told anyone about our transfer as I want to be able to surprise them with the news. We'll tell our mums on OTD and then everyone else after our 7 week scan I think.

EasterBunny7 · 18/07/2022 15:43

@ChristmasJumpers so far, only my manager and two close family members. I've gone through the motions a few times now and I've greatly reduced who I tell so early. I just feel that they're probably bored of hearing about it. I guess I hope to get to 12 weeks to announce, but who knows, I might get overexcited and say something at 7 weeks!

OP posts:
thatismahogany · 18/07/2022 16:03

@EmzieMurf1987 thank you and congratulations to you too 😊I'll try to hold off on getting hcg bloods. I was going to ask my GP but I know a lot of the phlebotomists at the hospital so that'd be awkward! I just got my 3+ on a clearblue test so I'm holding onto that reassurance for now, although I know it's not as accurate as a blood test.

And it's nice to come across a fellow healthcare worker in the wild! Thank you for that little insight into what my risk assessment should include. I'm sure they'll be fine with it, but it's always good to be armed with some knowledge.

Sorry to hear about the OHSS, I hope you're taking it nice and easy, and definitely don't go back to work before you're ready.

@Amy00 and @ChristmasJumpers welcome and congratulations! I also tested early, at 4DP5DT, because I have no patience haha.

@EasterBunny7 for the past week or so I have had a very upset stomach but now possibly going to other way so I'm trying to eat lots of fruit and veg! I think it could be the hormones but definitely speak to your clinic/GP if worried.

EasterBunny7 · 18/07/2022 16:19

@thatismahogany yes, so far, including this morning it was the other way - constipation! So, I was thrown by the loose tummy all of a sudden.
