@feliznavidad2 twins! You go girl, maybe the universe will move in strange ways! Keep bouncing! Did you take in entertainment? Not DH I meant, actual entertainment!

@Franklydear sensible??!!
Hmmmmm not sure what ass boss could be called...Ass boss???

@DKDK123 god I wouldn't be able to remember a thing?!

@Soph0105 omg I was saying to my friend earlier though just HOW GOOD is a fish finger sandwich though?! A true simple delight! I have mine with butter, then Mayo AND tartare sauce on. Any other takers?? If he gets a cuddly the advice I have is this, make sure his cuddly has a couple identical twins that are in regular circulation (so they are as scraggy) OR do what I did & bought different colours of the same "cuski" that regularly get washed & circulated from day one so even now X is happy to chop and change colours of cuski (apparently 2 are boys and one is a girl) but he doesn't realise "Pooh bear" has an identical twin who lives in deepest darkest wardrobe land 😬, but he does comment every time twin Pooh bear has to come out that "Pooh bear looks more flufferly than usual" πŸ§πŸ€”but I get away with it 🀫πŸ€₯

Franklydear · 25/06/2022 06:59

Morning ladies, the most amazing thing has happened, I have an acquaintance, not quite a friend really, and she and her partner have decided to give ds their telescope, as nobody uses it, that in itself is amazing, we are collecting today, she sent me a pic, and that is an huge, expensive, Fabolous telescope, not what you normally give a child, is a bit more than a meter long in a tripod, of course, they won't take anything for it, they just want it to be used, it will, very much so, I offer some baby items as they have a friend expecting, I mean the universe needs to shine on them, such generous people

DKDK123 · 25/06/2022 08:24

@Franklydear what a wonderful gift, I'm sure your DS will make sure it's put to good use 😊

As I'm now 6weeks PP we finally DTD last night, I've got go admit as good as it was I found myself a bit sad afterwards knowing that I've been steralised and can't have any more children. It took me by surprise as even if I could have more it's not like I'd want one right now with a 1 month old! I'm blaming sleep deprivation playing havoc with my hormones πŸ˜‚

larrythelizard · 25/06/2022 10:01

Decent weight there @kaylsd! Acupuncture can apparently also help with turning babies but no experience of it.

Very pleased to hear you're a real person @Minster2012!

Two great pieces of news from you @Franklydear with the DLA and the telescope! You can still tell bestie, just not via text xxx

Im starting to feel slightly panic stricken that I've done nothing for baby's arrival @Juno231 - it's a case of having a change around of rooms upstairs and cleaning and getting everything out of the loft but all feels a bit overwhelming especially as weekends at least half busy until end of July!

I also have a diaganol one half the time @paintfairy - should be in for a scan next week so will see if I'm right/if he's moved.

Hope DD is feeling better @bez91 - DS can occasionally be convinced to have calpol but always very much on his terms. Need to get a chicken pox vax for him before no 2 arrives as we're not sure if he's had it/had it strongly enough to not get it again and could do without chicken pox+newborn. Although we have to go to a town about 15 miles away and as above, life is a bit busy!

Oh bless @Somatronic you'll absolutely smash it when it comes round, there's no point dwelling too much on it all for now as all babies are so different and you don't know what sort you'll get until it pops out!

You're a better woman than me @paintfairy I'd have flat out refused the baby shower!!

Haha sure about that with no more babies @Minster2012?!

I was like you @Soph0105 - DS is 3 now and his diet on holiday has been horrendous - I suspect he's going to be hard work for nursery on Monday, no donuts for breakfast, no orange juice on demand etc etc!

Oh bless @DKDK123 hormones are a major thing. Think you'd be mad to want to go again 🀣

I've got over my wobble over worrying I'll be disappointed with a boy - pleased about that as that was completely stupid!

Hottest day so far today and our last day, I've gone full holiday and in an actual bikini with my massive hairy pasty bowling ball belly out, my legs and top half have caught the sun nicely but haven't had the belly out very much!

Ready to get home and start on the to do list though, DS new bedroom furniture is arriving on Tuesday which means we can reclaim the cot/changing station, and then I can sort out the lounge and relocate more toys up to his room!

Also I'm clearly hanging around for news on @feliznavidad2 and her little girl!

OP posts:
feliznavidad2 · 25/06/2022 11:09

No news gals, had a few hours of contractions overnight but then everything settled... still 2cm dilated but more effaced, have got another prostin pessary in now. Pray for me and my stubborn cervix pls. πŸ˜‚ Next check around 1500.

bez91 · 25/06/2022 11:20

@Somatronic I know πŸ˜‚ I said to her "all children like calpol" her temp got above 39 Thursday night so it was a case of take the calpol or we're going to hospital, after an hour of negotiations she took some and has been fine since πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I've got sinusitis accompanied by hay fever now - great! The dreams are so weird! Common for you with hormones all over the place but I'm not sure what your DHs excuse is πŸ˜‚ sympathy dreaming? I had a similar one that I lost it around the house πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

@Minster2012 @DKDK123 you both sound very hormonal about a potential #3 πŸ˜‚ I constantly feel like my life is a time trial with 2. I don't think #3 is completely is off the table here but it's unlikely πŸ˜‚ DD asked when I was going to be pregnant again a few days ago. Well done on DTD, I'm still plucking up the courage after the tear 😬 and waiting for both of them to stop waking every hour which has improved these last couple of days - maybe tonight!

@Soph0105 boo to Mat pay coming to an end! How long is it until you return to work?

@Franklydear that's lovely of them and super expensive I bet! I'd rather it be put to good use though too if it was mine

@larrythelizard I never even knew you could just get the chickenpox vaccine if requested. I let DD get it, I thought it was a right of passage into childhood πŸ™ˆ annoyingly her heart op got delayed because she had the pox so I wish at the time I'd have known. Enjoy the lovely weather! I'm sure DS will get back to a normal diet soon, everyone has a holiday diet right!

@feliznavidad2 come on cervix! Maybe you body easing into it so don't hurry it on too quickly πŸ˜† good luck!

larrythelizard · 25/06/2022 11:39

Ah bloody cervix @feliznavidad2! Come on!! Hope it's not too uncomfortable.

It's one you have to pay for @bez91 but the older he gets the worse I think he'd take it.

No DTD on holiday as DS has decided he has to sleep in our bed too 😬 - can't wait to get home and have some personal space when I sleep, DS likes to be attached to me at all times in his sleep

BellatrixK · 25/06/2022 13:16

@Somatronic yay for the 12 week scan! I was weird, I really didn’t enjoy telling people- it made me really nervous! I have no idea why. Telling close family and people we were really close to was fun though. I put a Instagram story up too, but mainly so news would spread and I wanted to remember it! I cannot believe that your friends haven’t checked in?! And MIL sounds thrilled πŸ˜‚

@DKDK123 I can definitely empathise with DS, baby crying is stressful. He’s such a caring big brother, so I’m sure he’s partly worried? It’s nice for him to have some time to recharge though.

@Franklydear brilliant news on the appeal. Obviously, you should never have had to, but so glad that things worked out. Bestie is looking after you. So sorry that you were feeling low and missing her though. Also, that is so kind of your new friends! Telescopes are cool.

@Minster2012 haha- love that your parents had it! Tbf, my grandparents have ALL of my sisters’ documents! Glad that you are officially official though now.

@kaylsd glad that things are going well. I’m actually loving all the old wives tales- taking them with a pinch of salt, but they’re fun! Play lots of songs about spinning. I’m suggesting Kylie- β€˜Spinning Around’.

@feliznavidad2 come on stubborn cervix! We’re all here reading along!

@Soph0105 and @Minster2012 I have had quite a few fish dinner sandwiches recently. They were the only thing I wanted to eat in trimester 1. Did you know that you could get chunky fish fingers? That’s a game changer!

Ladies, I have a pram. Got it this morning and it looks great. So chuffed with it. I feel like I’m just waiting for my 20 week scan now- it’s actually when I’m 20+6 on 5th July which send line ages away. I feel like I’ve that’s happened then i I can really get nesting/shopping. DH is slowly painting the nursery wardrobes and I can’t wait to get it nicely done up! Also, I went to our school prom last night and my nice dresses are really not fitting anymore! I managed to squeeze into one, and I survived in heels , so I’m calling that a success.

Soph0105 · 25/06/2022 15:23

Also only really here for @feliznavidad2 lol but I suppose I'll stay now I'm here...

Ah now that is sound advice @Minster2012 Mr Fox was a gift so I have made enquiries as to his provenance and I will definitely be sourcing his evil twin asap

Ah that's so lovely @Franklydear what a nice thing to do!

Yay for the bikini @larrythelizard but boo for hometime! Yick to the lack of personal space too, your DS needs his own Mr Fox πŸ˜‚

Urgh I know @bez91 only one rough pay cheque though because I'm back to it in 2 weeks?! Omfg when did that happen?!

Woohoo for the pram @BellatrixK shit's getting real!

My song choice for your playlist @bez91 is Bonnie Tyler - Total Eclipse of the Heart πŸ˜‚

Franklydear · 25/06/2022 15:38

@BellatrixK not super expensive a couple hundred pounds, but more than decent, they know he goes to the observatory to use the massive ones in domes, and that's exactly what they said, they wanted it to go to someone who'll appreciate it, still they could have gotten some money for it, I offered, they have a baby coming soon in their circle so they'll accept some knitting
On the dla, it's worth the effort more than for the money, that's pitiful, because it is a requisite to apply for other things, so through the loops we go, bestie is definitely looking after us, even if it just me considering what I know her opinion would be @larrythelizard would it be weird to open a note on my phone, I could actually text, but her hubby is going over all the messages surely, so that would be weird, I know that sounds bad, but is not, she asked for goodbye messages, and he'll be taking some comfort on those ones, he's been going through old photos too,I got a collage the other day, we're spending the weekend with them and next Friday is the funeral so probably too, nice new boss has given me the day off and I don't have to make back the time, by policy that applies only to family, but he knows she was family to me, we've decided that ds will not attend the funeral, but will do a mini private funeral just for us, I'll see with her hubby what her final place will be and maybe we can do something really simple and informal for the kids, her boy doesn't want to go to the proper one, but we can have our own celebration of her life, thanks to @Minster2012 for being such a wonderful person, now she's been verified
You'll have to excuse my rumbles, I normally only do this at night time

Franklydear · 25/06/2022 15:40

Obviously waiting for @feliznavidad2 too

DKDK123 · 25/06/2022 21:23

@felifeliznavidad2 hoping that stubborn cervix is playing nicely now and you're well underway to baby snuggles 🀞

@bez91 DTD was very much a case of quick let's get to it as soon as DD went for a nap after her night time feed (DS was already sleeping) it was one of them we may have 10mins we may have 2 hours before she wakes roulette πŸ˜‚

Minster2012 · 25/06/2022 21:47

Lurking after a busy day & nightmare night, see Insta, don't worry I'm checking to see if we've got shorted baby @feliznavidad2

Soph0105 mr fox 🦊 def needs an evil twin πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@Franklydear anyone would've suggested similar I think

So in the 3.5 hours Bronte was up straight last night staring at us & crying we gave up & put her in her room as it's over 5 degrees cooler than ours as every time we tried to settle her in our arms we weee literally sticking to each other & failing, it said 24 degrees but felt like a sauna. I already had the extra camera in there as I've done some naps in there for her (which isn't much different to the stints she does at night so mehhhhh) so that's it. Broke the Camels back 😬 judge away it's ok, I know a lot wouldn't do it but that's fine by me, I went to a baby group the other day & there was only one person who didn't use a monitor & let the baby nap in another room already πŸ˜‚

Minster2012 · 25/06/2022 22:08

Sorry for the typos ffs

feliznavidad2 · 26/06/2022 01:21

No baby yet. But they're planning on breaking my waters in the morning as cervix has shortened and dilated enough now to be able to do it.

Awful contractions earlier that didn't really seem to be doing much apart from being painful but had some pethidine eventually and managed to sleep from between 10pm and now.

It's nice knowing you lot are on here to chat to.

larrythelizard · 26/06/2022 04:34

Bloody hell @feliznavidad2 she's putting you through the mill already, hopefully not a sign of things to come!

Tough day @Minster2012 - you just got to do what you got to do!!

Our airport transfer is picking us up at 5.45, DS has thrown up every hour since 11pm 😬😬😬. You wouldn't know it with how hyper he is now...I've probably had an hours sleep, am hopefully he's going to want to sit by DH on the coach!

OP posts:
Franklydear · 26/06/2022 04:36

@feliznavidad2 hope you have a better today, already
@Minster2012 but you are the one that counts, Wonder Woman, no judgement 5 degrees is a lot, you might want to crash at hers, lol
just woke up at normal hour, ish, a bit early, remember is Sunday and trying to sleep again, swimming must be working cos everything hurts, 4 sessions next week again, only about 20 min

Franklydear · 26/06/2022 04:38

@larrythelizard hope that’s finish and you fly more comfortably

larrythelizard · 26/06/2022 04:42

Always the worst bit when everything hurts before you get used to it again @Franklydear

Also btw @Franklydear I don't think writing notes on your phone to bestie is weird at all.

OP posts:
DKDK123 · 26/06/2022 05:15

@minster2012 you know us no judgement we're all about making informed decisions balancing the facts with what works for each individual. Hope you both managed a better sleep last night.

@feliznavidad2 unproductive contractions don't sound like fun at all πŸ™ˆ glad you managed to get some sleep! Keeping everything crossed that today is the day πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ€žπŸ€žπŸ€žπŸ€ž

@larrythelizard Oh no! Hopefully he's just excited about going home and not a bug he's caught. But definitely volunteer DH to be on spewy child duties on the way home. Glad you had a good holiday tho, you're looking amazing on your IG photos 😊

@franklydear Well done you on the swimming 4 times a week, no wonder you're feeling sore!

Wow check me out remembering 4 names to reply to (still absolutely hating this shitty MN update, I feel so rude not being able to reply to everyone properly) I got 4 1/2hours sleep last night instead of the 2 I've been getting lately so I've woken up feeling like I can take on the world today (tho hoping my children dont see that as challenge accepted) πŸ’ͺπŸ˜‚

bez91 · 26/06/2022 05:58

@larrythelizard that is true, much harder when they're at an age they kinda understand but not enough to know what's good for them so age 2-5 tricky! Long gone are the holiday sex days with a child that's Velcro I hear you!

Yes waking roulette @DKDK123 πŸ˜‚ it really is about choosing/guessing your times!

So I half wrote this post before all hell broke loose, if there is anything to put you off having kids read on... lots of TMI...

Woke up to feed Z at 4am, finally settled him so we were working up to DTD. All in progress, didn't hurt, was great. Just both about to you know, DD comes in with a frickin NOSEBLEED. Ok I go into her room clean her up and only a bit on her sheets so ok until morning. Go back into our room about 5am, finish proceedings for him at least as was wary no time for me. DD returns upset wants to get into bed with me to go back to sleep. 2 minutes later, vommed blood all over the bed like LOADS. Absolute Hysteria, had to give her a full shower to clean her up whilst DH stripper the beds and cleaned all the carpets which are probably going to need to be professionally cleaned.
So 5:30am and nowhere for the 3 of us to go back to bed so downstairs it is. The only time DD has actually requested to go back to sleep!
Meanwhile Z knocking out Z'd oblivious to what's gone on and we're off to visit the MIL today after starting the day at 4am πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

bez91 · 26/06/2022 06:15

Sorry Missed your posts in the melee...

@Minster2012 Definitely no judgment you do you, different things work for different families and babies. I won't hack the full 6 months, Z is such a noisy sleeper. Think DD was 5 months and that was only over concern of her heart issue.

@feliznavidad2 I'm sure breaking your waters will get things sped up. Good you managed some rest and sleep though!

@larrythelizard not ideal at all! Hope it was just a flash in the pan and now stopped!

larrythelizard · 26/06/2022 07:26

God it really is all going on @bez91 - not a day to have to tolerate MIL although a well timed nose bleed from DD might get you off the Christmas card list for a while?

Hooray for 4.5 hours @DKDK123 - hoping for as good a day for you as you had a night!

DS was sick again a couple of times on the bus although is literally just water and bile now - good old nappy sacks!!

Now to find something that a) I can eat (no eggs or dairy) and b) actually want to eat at Palma airport!

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 26/06/2022 07:47

Omg @bez91 that sounds horrendous! Vomming blood? Is she ok? Are you ok? AND no orgasm, that's just rude! And MIL hmmmm not great

@larrythelizard vomming for your DS too?? For a flight eeek that's not good has he sat next to DH? Have you had a lovely time though?

Let's not send it this way please?? Thanks ladies, tell you what we had a great night 😊, solid sleep from 7.15 to 4.55 so only one wake (from her, I woke a few times to check the monitor of course!) I'm not saying it will stay that way but it was a good night 😴 🀞🏻
