@Vil10 ooooh brilliant news!! I hope all goes well and let us know how you get on!

Well no progress here and I'm getting paranoid now that if it was my waters breaking I'm reaching the 24 hour mark... If it wasn't my waters then what the hell was it?? Doesn't help that I'm seeing lots of posts online about women's waters breaking yet testing negative with the amnio test - not to mention it happened to you @Minster2012 !
Still cramping but got a good night's sleep this time...

@paintfairy have you tried infacol for the wind? Things like bicycle legs and tummy massage? I'm just spouting things I see works for others πŸ˜‚

DKDK123 · 03/08/2022 06:21

@Soph0105 I'd leave the toilet seat given that a lot of people would change it when they move in anyways and they're not overly expensive if they want to replace it themselves but hadn't planned to.

@Juno231 disappointing about being sent home but definitely sounds like somethings happening, I hope you had to go back in last night 🀞 Did you get any further forward with finding out if you are allowed the pool birth you wanted?

Good to hear from you @feliznavidad2 hope you and bubs are settling in well, hang on in there through the sleep depriving haze of newborness, you've got this πŸ’ͺ

@larrythelizard definitely try get some meet ups arranged if you're feeling a bit isolated just now. What about trying that peanut app find some others in your area who are on or about to go on mat leave (was it juno that tried it before?)

@Somatronic that's disappointing having to cut your holiday short, glad you can still get away for at least the first week, but it's not the point if you'd planned two 😞

@paintfairy I just got a universal pram cover off amazon, its nothing fancy but does the job and it has a zip window, if you were concerned about baby getting enough fresh air you could always unzip it a bit. I'll find the link

Universal Rain Cover for Pushchair Stroller, Food Grade EVA, Large Rain Cover for Pushchair Pram with Zip Water Resistant and Durable Transparent Baby Travel Weather Shield Fit Most Strollers (Grey) amzn.eu/d/6PgY6Jm

No advice on the trapped wind I'm afraid, DD is terrible for holding onto wind, I've tried Infacol, Gripe water, dentinox, every position, leg movements, bum wiggle and rub going on Google and tik tok πŸ˜‚ but I will say the older they get the easier it becomes for them to get wind up so I'm guessing time is the only magic cure tho there are lots of different things to try out there, one may work for you.

How exciting @Vil10 keeping everything crossed it goes swiftly and you get to hold your little bundle soon

Franklydear · 03/08/2022 06:36

Watching now @Vil10 , hope it goes really well
@Juno231 hope things get moving for you too, I would like to know what else could it be too
@paintfairy massages and by circle legs worked for ds, but it’s no quick fix

well we bought the appliances! Deliveries staggered through the next week, minus the washing machine till September, but it’s ok, cos from mid August we’ll be at our mates house to allow work in the bathroom

larrythelizard · 03/08/2022 07:56

Ooooh yes baby on the way! Super excited for @Vil10!

@Juno231 are you due back to see community midwife anytime soon? Could you ask to see them to get some reassurance?

@DKDK123 have arranged to meet a few friends, I think last time I had a NCT group to hang out with pre-birth but this time everyone is working/is busy/had a baby on Monday so not available for leisurely lunches!

I think it's useful that not all baby clothes are the same size @paintfairy because then they don't grow out of it all in one go. No advice on wind sorry, DS wasn't very windy.

Exciting @Franklydear I must be old as I was looking at something yesterday and thought that a new washing machine looked quite cool!

Any chance of moving the appt @Somatronic ? Sounds such a pain in the arse!

Last day at work until early June today, feels weird. Although Thurs/Fri are A/L so I guess mat leave doesn't really start until Monday?

Going to find myself some gentle daily exercise to do so if anyone has any recommendations for preggo Pilates on YouTube or anything, I'd be most grateful!

@larrythelizard I’m in the middle of be cautious of what I eat and the fuck it it’s last week of pregnancy to get away with saying bubs fancied it 🀣 the balance in life! Hopefully you can arrange some nice catch ups in the up coming time ahead hunny with your friends :)
@somattonic ah that’s annoying with the endocrine team, I guess it’s good that your being close monitored but irritating that they’ve known all this time and just decided now to ramp it all up!
@paintfairy they may have better personalities with them being of all shapes and sizes and more mature, in the end I was getting ready to sucker punch Luca for his resting bitch face vibes! As for the trapped wind I see people peddling little baby legs and reaching them up like a bike for wind on videos? I don’t know if that’s any use πŸ™ˆ
@minster2012 I hope your feeling more human today darling ❀️ there’s a good chick flick film out on Netflix if you need a girly cry but heartfelt called purple rain to give a go one day 😘
@vil10 ahhhhh my predictions weren't far off when I said to you Tuesday or Wednesday!! Cmon little one we all cannot wait to hear that you are here! I hope your doing well lovely lady as can be anyway and I’m thinking of you and your OH ❀️❀️
@juno231 could it have been your back waters people talk about? It might have been the calm before the storm for you? I hope your doing okay and things are moving along for you or not too far away to do that🀞🏻

MW appointment today for 38 week nothing too exciting kicking off, not long now for the bus summer babies announcements to be rolling in πŸ‘ΆπŸ»πŸ‘ΆπŸ»πŸ‘ΆπŸ»πŸ‘ΆπŸ»

kaylsd · 03/08/2022 07:59

@larrythelizard the strange dream saga continues last night, my surgeon was pregnant and decided to go in labour same day she was going to operate on me at 4 πŸ™ƒπŸ€£

larrythelizard · 03/08/2022 08:00

Oh and @Minster2012 I sort I imagine you like the pied piper gathering crowds wherever you go!

I think what's stopping me is I'm actually going to have to weigh myself again @kaylsd probably next week 🀣

OP posts:
Franklydear · 03/08/2022 08:02

@larrythelizard I am afraid the most fun was for DH, it is his kitchen after all, although quite happy to be him comparing the many thousands of options

Day off, so enjoying the hotel room until midmorning, we are checking out and braving the last two days of work at home, and ds and I are going for lunch and the sealife centre, I love Merlin passes, on the cheap too

Franklydear · 03/08/2022 08:05

On iknittedthis news (yes, I know I am a bore) I am shipping an order today, still working on a Pokemon due Friday, and finding wool for a little shoes commission in funky colours for next week, not complaining....but..... I've been idle for weeks, why is everything happening when I am not home?

Soph0105 · 03/08/2022 09:01

Blatantly just checking in for @Vil10 and @Juno231 updates πŸ˜‚ lots of bodily fluids floating around!

Thanks for the loo seat advice, I'm glad that most of you are leaning towards the ignore option πŸ˜‚ to clarify, seat is only slightly wonky and not that noticeable, I only spotted it when I lifted the seat up to clean it and saw it was cracked. On the other hand it was Β£4 from Wilko so it owes us nothing...

paintfairy · 03/08/2022 09:02

@Vil10 ah! Exciting! πŸ₯³ And the pop is pretty much unmistakable. I went- oh shit and leapt out of bed. Didn't want to ruin that or my nice new bedroom carpet. 🀭
@bez91 thanks for the link. I'll give it a try.
@DKDK123 wind is a nightmare. I've not tried giving her anything for it as she's not quite old enough for gripe water? Not sure about the other stuff. I'll look. I. Think most universal stuff does fit. Thanks.
@Juno231 could it be hind waters like mentioned above? But yeah I thought the same about the 24 hours if they don't even know. πŸ€”
@kaylsd 38 weeks! Eek.
@larrythelizard or in my case nothing fits. 🀣 However yes you are right moving forwards. It'll be useful.

Minster2012 · 03/08/2022 09:10

Yeah we do a figure of 8 winding technique @paintfairy which is pretty aggressive but seems to get stuff up it's like stirring the pot one way then the other with them sat down?? Gripe water helped X more than infacol! I still lay clothes out and go by "actual" size on a weekly basis. Then the weather changes πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‚πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Come on baby @Vil10 your chairs pah it's all about the baby now πŸŽ‰

@Franklydear You kept all this renovation work quiet!! You can advise us going forwards then! It's quite warm for wool atm that's the only thing I guess, I still have 2 cardis from my mum B hasn't worn yet cos it's soooo sticky & she just asked me what I want next

@larrythelizard last day whoop whoop!! Pied piper I am certainly not, Or def don't want to be anyway. Need to work on that bitch face.
I say streeeetch for the ice cream then streeeetch back?! That count?? So I said to my mum "I've no idea how much B weighs as you gotta go especially for that, book in blah blah & cba" she said weigh yourself with her & without. I was like yeah, and there's your issue, weigh myself πŸ˜‚

@kaylsd I am feeling better thank you, still crampy but not too bad, I shall def check out that film. Omg DH & I watched "into the wild" on Sunday night, anyone seen it?? Thought it would be feel good, totally wrong on that! Bloody hell I was blubbing πŸ˜³πŸ˜†

@Juno231 they did kinda confirm "afterwards" it was likely my hind waters I was like well that's helpful. Not. So absolutely make sure you go in again for any change.

GOOD LUCK TO THE LADIES GOING INTO LABOUR YOU CAN DO IT πŸŽ‰πŸ’“

InkyPaper · 03/08/2022 09:51

Oh it's all getting very exciting round here!! @Vil10 thinking of you and hoping all goes smoothly!

@Juno231 keeping my fingers crossed that things start progressing soon (don't worry about what family are doing/saying, you were right to get checked out, people just need to learn more patience where babies are involved!)

@larrythelizard enjoy your last day! On the exercise side, the NHS linked to this site which has a few videos here: www.activepregnancyfoundation.org/thismummoves-activeathome

@Franklydear are you having a full house redo then? A new kitchen and bathroom sounds amazing 🀩 everything always kicks off at once, it's just the way of things πŸ˜‚

@paintfairy with my nephew they just winded him for longer (took him ages to burp πŸ™ˆ) as he used to get it so, so badly. Then the bicycle legs thing and keeping him more upright when feeding.

@Soph0105 oh yeah if you can only see it when lifting the seat definitely don't bother!

@Somatronic that sucks about your holiday πŸ˜”

Minster2012 · 03/08/2022 10:42

@Soph0105 depends how much your fella leaves the seat up then. Clearly not much πŸ˜‚

kaylsd · 03/08/2022 11:13

@larrythelizard have you thought of having like last request meal of what you want before your ELCS next week, I've requested chippy tea 🀣🀣🀣 I'm easily pleased
@Minster2012 I haven't seen that no but it sounds good! I watched that grey man at the weekend with DH and you can see why they want ryan to be the next James Bond!
@paintfairy I know eeeekkk!!!

Well ladies I'm kinda in limbo land. I've just come back from my midwife appointment and she can't confirm on palpating what direction bubs is for the first time with me ever. She thinks the hard lump which is middle of ribs is too wide to be a head shape and she said my pelvis feels engaged, the heartbeat was found lower down near my pelvis rather than up in my ribs like last time so I'm like 😦😦😦 has baby moved? I rang my hospital I'm going to on Friday for pre op and they've said not to bother with scan as they will scan me next week on day of ELCS to confirm presentation then so right now I'm just plodding with haven't the foggiest clue of which direction my babies in whether it's head up or bum up πŸ™ƒ

2020mission · 03/08/2022 11:13

No luck with a house @Minster2012 but I did get the new job πŸ™Œ so it's progress! Thanks for asking. It wasn't easy doing interview prep and a technical test with Matthew πŸ˜‚ how is Bronte getting on? She's growing so fast from what I see on Instagram πŸ’•

Excited for you @Vil10 hopefully things did ramp up with the pessary in, it certainly did the trick for me 🀞

larrythelizard · 03/08/2022 11:33

Would you choose ELCS still if baby has spun @kaylsd? I guess that the only reason it matters?

For my last meal I think I'm going to get DS early from nursery and take him out for pizza @kaylsd - assuming it'll be nil by mouth from midnight I might need a later snack too!

Well done on the job @2020mission when do you start?

DS was very confused by the seat being left up the other day @Soph0105 @Minster2012 which served DH right (Daddy what is this doing here, Daddy where do I sit, Daddy why is it wrong?!)

Thanks @InkyPaper will have a look, just think I need a bit of routine in my life next week otherwise I'll probably end up actually melting into the sofa!

Despite all my 'yeah I don't care, I'll sort it out afterwards' @Minster2012 I'm absolutely shitting it at the thought of weighing myself!!

OP posts:
Juno231 · 03/08/2022 11:51

Ah you ladies are making me happy that OH sits down for his wees!

I'm going with the hind waters theory btw! My midwife seemed to imply watery discharge but surely a cupful of that seems excessive no? Another reason not to believe her is that she said hind waters would continue to leak whereas everything I've read online says that's not necessarily the case.

Watch me stay pregnant for another 2 weeks ladies πŸ˜‚I'm so knackered though, managed more sleep last night but fitbit says I had ZERO deep sleep. Then only 3h the night before that. All this night time cramping better end with a baby asap!

@kaylsd oof that's thrown a spanner in the works when your mind is already set for a c section and a specific date! Would you want to try naturally if they're head down? If so, is it worth having a private ultrasound now just to wrap your head around it and not having to wait another week wondering?

@vil10 so excited for you and can't wait to see pics of bubba once they're here! Hope all is progressing well <3

@2020mission congrats on the job! Look at you business mama 😁

2020mission · 03/08/2022 12:00

It all sounds frustrating @Juno231 but I don't think you'll have too long to wait 🀞 I'm clueless about waters as it all happened when in hospital with the induction. I'm finally escaping my old employer πŸ˜… I remember us both very keen to leave our jobs over a year ago! Hope yours has been better than your previous?

Thanks @larrythelizard I don't think I'll be starting for 2-3 months at least as it's civil service (Scottish government) so there's a lot of pre-employment checks to get through first as well as my notice period.

I'm actually a little worried now that we might be applying for a mortgage when I'm between jobs. The civil service need to do reference checks before a formal offer so my employer is going to know I'm leaving before I have a contract 😬

Juno231 · 03/08/2022 12:08

@2020mission Oh as in they'll contact your current employer as part of the background checks?? That sounds bonkers! And yes luckily it's been a lot better at this job than the last one. Still not the perfect fit though but good enough for me to plod along here and maybe have another baby if I can?

Franklydear · 03/08/2022 12:34

@Minster2012 I am just trying not to stress about it, at least until I had firm dates, covid has messed it up for over two years, and DH is doing most of the leg work so I could massively ignore it
It is warm, hence my surprise for the orders, one is a toy
@InkyPaper the floor wasn't right so both rooms have to be redone, they were also old and a bit odd, so chance to make changes, more out of necessity than fancy really
@Soph0105 I wouldn't worry about it then
@Juno231 it is healthier for men to sit down for weeks, it prevents prostate problems in later life , Oooh thoughts of another baby....

Somatronic · 03/08/2022 12:34

@larrythelizard no chance of moving it. They wanted me to come in next week but I've a holiday rental booked so I compromised by cutting the family part of the holiday short instead. She wouldn't let me wait another week. In fairness waiting until 20 weeks for a first visit to the endocrinologist is clearly 20 weeks too late for someone with Graves disease and Hashimotos thyroiditis so they've kind of fucked up. But I know it's fine because I've been taking care of it privately.

@Minster2012 I've seen that film but I knew the basics of the story before I saw it. To be honest I just found it annoying - someone travelling into wilderness without preparing properly...stupid behaviour with needlessly tragic results. Sorry, I was reared beside cliffs that tourists often fall off because they don't take proper precautions so carelessness around dangerous aspects of nature annoys me!

@kaylsd well that's a headscratcher. When do you go in again?

@2020mission congratulations on the new job!

@Vil10 hope everything is going well for you - fingers crossed for a straightforward labour! How exciting :)

@Juno231 you must be so tired. Hopefully things will become clearer soon for you.

Minster2012 · 03/08/2022 13:17

@Somatronic I kept saying all the way through it how selfish he was & when he knew he was losing weight for instance why didn't he at least leave the van & start walking, surely better than just staying there to die?

@Franklydear I think it sounds fab! And not far off finished so that's awesome. It's bloody boiling here again today so sone a bit of gardening now I'm hiding going indoor things

@2020mission I used to recruit for the police pension scheme & it was the same, we used to have to put down a HR reference & say they couldn't be contacted until we knew the person resigning had actually resigned but it still wasn't easy. It didn't exactly get round it but it helped. You can't forsee if it will be when you go for a mortgage so don't worry about it! B is great thanks, I think she's massive πŸ˜‚but she's fab, very content & a great sleeper so can't complain but she doesn't really "do" much?! Like she doesn't reach for toys or anything yet πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

@Juno231 it def will end in a baby, stick with it, the no sleeping is absolutely shit, tbh when the baby arrives & you are then actually exhausted in a different way I slept better πŸ˜‚

My DS is totally not discerning about the seat up or down @larrythelizard @Soph0105 and prob doesn't even realise. Bearing in mind yesterday we had 2 x 4 year olds doing "wild poos" behind the beach hut (backstory: we had each taken them both once each the 30 min walk to the nearest toilets after the said they needed a poo & THEY DIDN'T POO) the third time they said it we cba to walk back up there again hence wild poo so I'm prob not the best person to ask πŸ˜‚

@larrythelizard I have actually weighed myself and it's not too bad, but the weight is sitting awfully that's more the issue. However today my size bigger shorts are feeling loose so maybe it's getting there. My mum weighed herself & B & came back saying B is 15 lbs???? What?? Do you know what E is @DKDK123
or Z is @bez91?

@kaylsd yeah I think the question is would you prefer a section or natural now?

bez91 · 03/08/2022 14:39

@kaylsd that's a bit of a head melt then! Just when you'd got your head around the section. It would be useful to know presentation now specifically as I imagine people awaiting a section for breach generally avoid things that may bring on labour! Can they not scan you at pre op?

@Juno231 sit down wees? DH does occasionally but not a lot. Interesting on the prostate @Franklydear although he does have a very good aim I can't complain actually πŸ˜‚

@Minster2012 that is such a 4 year old thing to do πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ DD is the same, she'll go for a wee then 3 mins later need πŸ’©like surely you needed this 3 minutes ago? Wild poos are a must when 30 mins away πŸ˜‚ had to get Z weighed yesterday actually for his medication doseage, he's 14lb 12oz which is mad for his 7lb 1 birth weight so I bet your 15lb weigh in isn't far off being accurate. I looked at DDs red book this morning and she said wasn't that weight until 7 months. He's not quite 3 yet 🫣

Juno231 · 03/08/2022 14:42

@Minster2012 oh I missed that about into the wild - I'm with Somatronic and was mostly annoyed at how dumb he was! Much preferred Reese Witherspoon's Wild - book over film though! Erm if B is 15lbs then please admit that you've been feeding her pure lard πŸ˜‚ how did that happen?!

@Franklydear yes on the prostate! so true and I'm actually quite happy he sits - less mess and none of that loud peeing business either!

@Somatronic wowza I hadn't realised they hadn't seen you about your thyroid issues yet - that's shocking!
