Yesssss @paintfairy she's so gorgeous - super happy for you! paintfairy can sure push them out πŸ’¨ πŸ˜‰
Due date baby is awesome! Yes like Minster said I think the first due date baby of the bus!

2020mission · 24/07/2022 21:51

Already said on Instagram but congrats again @paintfairy πŸ™Œ they certainly don't expect a fast first labour I had the same reluctance with checking me when things were moving quickly! Hope you get home soon and enjoy the first days with her πŸ’• looking forward to hearing her name too.

Congratulations to you @dmb91 you never forget the moment it happens when TTC for so long! So glad to see someone else get some good news

Soph0105 · 24/07/2022 21:56

Top tip for ironing @bez91 just don't bother πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ our iron is gathering dust somewhere... H maybe uses it once a year when he needs a shirt for a wedding. We are shameless slobs! I just buy clothes that are not iron necessary. Haven't owned a proper blouse since I moved out from my mammy's...

Ahhhhhh @Minster2012 not gonna lie, still expecting you to turn up and murder us in our beds πŸ€” but we move in like a month (oh fuck) so if you want to get your Dexter on you'd better get a wriggle on πŸ˜‚ he's 9 months now. Have seen your advice @larrythelizard and that looked like too much hard work so just going to put all the new clothes on a hot wash tomorrow and see what shrinks πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I think I could be the new Mrs Hinch with all these top housewife tips

PS if we have a second @larrythelizard I'm so with you on the ELCS. A cannot be fucked going over due date again and B I think I might be too posh to push now? I do like that my hooha is still intact πŸ˜‚ also C would like to pick my child's birthday because I am an obscene planner

2020mission · 24/07/2022 22:02

@Soph0105 I can't imagine reaching 42 weeks I was grateful to have that induction at 39 as that felt too long! I was worried about having him on Hogmanay too so I escaped that. I do sometimes wonder what his "real" birthday would have been though πŸ˜…

DKDK123 · 25/07/2022 05:15

@dmb91 congratulations πŸ₯³ I found travel sickness bands, sips of water and jellybabies (just eating one or two every half hour or so) helped a bit with the morning sickness although nothing really takes it away completely other than time. It's rough at the start but it will ease.

@bez91 can't believe you're not cooking up 3 course meals already, 11weeks old is definitely old enough πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ hope MIL isn't on the cards foe babysitting any time soon πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

@Juno231 well they do say fresh air helps babies sleep, I think you've nailed it on the nursery airing πŸ˜‚

@Vil10 sounds like your body is preparing for eviction too, how exciting!!

@paintfairy I got such a good surprise when I opened IG to see your beautiful little baby had arrived πŸ₯° Congratulations again, hope you're both doing well, what a quick birth think she was just desperate to meet you for cuddles ❀️

Minster2012 · 25/07/2022 07:49

Is anyone else getting ads up on here for "intermittent fasting according to finger length?" Wtf is that about??

@Soph0105 @2020mission omg I'm so with you, I mean I prob wouldn't have chosen for B to arrive at pre 37 weeks but I already felt "done" with pregnancy & I've said to pl I don't know how ppl can go to 42 weeks I couldn't imagine 5 more weeks of not being able to walk. My SIL was incontinent and yet still wanted to go to 42 weeks & not be induced. Nope, not me I'd be like GET THEM OUT 😜@Soph0105 I also like that my faff intact

I also specifically look for non iron clothes, and the Aga was amazing at ironing, that's also what I miss now it's off but I do have to iron DH's trousers but not properly for work as he only scrabbles around on the floor in them so they minimal attention

@Soph0105 ok will get my murdering vibe on. Channel the inner dexter. Was actually just gonna send you DS when he's in a murderous mood, that will put you off number 2 baby 😬

So it's X's 4th birthday on weds and yep I'm shamelessly sending him to nursery on that day for the full day HOWEVER he's essentially having a birthday week as we are going to the beach today with my parents, then on Thursday he's missing nursery in the morning & we are going to the beach with in laws family then he gets a party on Saturday. For which I'm not prepared. At all. Fuck balls.

Franklydear · 25/07/2022 08:42

@Juno231 great decor, it'll be great and good to be on target
@Vil10 breath
@paintfairy I said on Instagram but great labor, hope you are home
@Minster2012 but it was
emotional depressing, this is just for fuck sake, what now? maybe is me that changed @larrythelizard still watch it, it might be just me
@bez91 it sounds like my mil, I love her, but whatever you are doing is wrong, I stopped caring when I heard her say to a friend of mine the exact opposite that she said to me in a particular thing, the really annoying one is fil, he worked away while his kids were growing up, but helped look after the first grandson, guess who is Supernanny now?
Having my kitchen and bathroom redone, floors included, so we are out for a few days/ weeks, just the first few days while they rip everything out in a hotel and then we'll be house-sitting for bestie's husband, they are going to visit family for a few weeks, I don't like uncertainty, insurance guy also coming today to see if there's a claim, so fast forward a month please

bez91 · 25/07/2022 08:54

@Soph0105 @Minster2012 I wish i could leave it but all our clothes come off the washing line screwed up to the eyeballs so cannot get away with it! Even worse now DH moved into the office as shirts πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

Jelly babies is a good call @dmb91 from @DKDK123 I also found them or jelly tots helped! Ice lolly's too!
@DKDK123 MIL has never been on the cards for babysitting, can you tell why? Mind she's never offered either but it would be a no thanks.

With you @Minster2012 would send me wild being overdue! Sounds a fun filled week (for X - sounds hellish for you!) are you having his party at home? I've booked DDs this week for October, at a soft play. I couldn't handle the mess πŸ˜‚

@Franklydear that's really frustrating especially on FIL! She asks constantly if he's sleeping through the night yet, obvs no. DD didn't until 8 months so anything prior is a bonus. She must have said 3000 times to give him baby rice to fill his tummy πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ 😴 sounds a hectic time coming up! I'm sure it will be worth it in the end despite all the upheaval

Franklydear · 25/07/2022 09:04

@bez91 your best Churchill dog impression needed, just nod at everything and then do what you want is my bil best advice
In a neurodivergent house is s big challenge, it'll be better when we are in our friends house, we'll have a cat two hamster and fish 🐠🐠, and a kitchen and washing machine, but it'll be worth it, we were gonna do it and then covid hit so it's well overdue
@Minster2012 fun week! Our childcare request that the kids attend on their birthdays as they like to throw them a party, even if they weren't scheduled

Vil10 · 25/07/2022 10:29

@kaylsd thankyou!! I'm praying it does and that it comes back quick too so I don't have to wait!! It seems everywhere is short staffed again round here too, a girl I know gave birth a couple of weeks ago and started in our local birth centre, half way through whilst in the pool they had to transfer her to the hospital because they didn't have enough midwives to cover the next shift!!! I understand it can't be helped but imagine half way through labour after already 9 hours of pain having to be moved because of that, I'd have been livid!! I hope they decide to come a little earlier too, or a due date baby would be cool🀞🏼 your old film day sounds perfect and I love willy wonka!!

@Franklydear Thankyou lovely, your next month sounds hectic but exciting for getting new kitchen and bathroom!!

@bez91 oh god your MIL, I couldn't copeπŸ˜‚ however I feel like this is what mine will be like, I've already said to my mum I can picture it the first time she holds the baby she'll be so awkward and uncomfortable, like she's holding a bomb or something, and it'll really annoy me and I'll have to say something🀣

@BellatrixK im really happy that there's someone there who has already been told to look after usπŸ˜‚ just got to hope she's working on the day I go in🀞🏼 it was you!! I get so confused on who's who!! Sounds an exciting day doing the nursery, I also loved doing ours, didn't mind the painting one bit! I'm sure it'll be lovely once finished!! Have fun in Cumbria!

@larrythelizard my midwife at my last appointment said they can give me one from 39 weeks which is today, but think I'm going to hold off and if nothing by Wednesday/Thursday I might ring up and book one in, she said I can just call the birth centre and they can get me in that day! Isn't it funny how we clean before a cleanπŸ˜‚ the end is almost there for you now, push through the pelvic pain!

@Minster2012 how surreal!!

@DKDK123 Well I thought that was the case but since early yesterday morning I've had no more cramps or anythingπŸ™„ hope you're getting on well x

@Minster2012 Sounds like you have a lovely week planned for him, however very stressful and hectic for you🀣 where are you having the party?

So I woke up yesterday to breakfast and a brew in bed from OH, went and did some food shopping and got home and he was back doing house jobs, little shitty bits of jobs like adding new skirting to the bit where the wall and door were knocked down etc, prepping the house ready for painting today, I masking taped round the window sills and light switches and he told me to go and sit down and chill which I did, he literally worked doing little jobs all day, took a quick break to prep a pheasant for tea and put it in the oven, then tidied up the mess from his work, made the rest of tea and then washed and cleaned up too!!! I felt like a princessπŸ˜‚ he's drafted in a handful of his friends today to get all the painting done in the house, all rooms, walls, ceilings (obviously we'd already done a few so luckily isn't the whole house) then he'll be moving the old sofas into the garage, cleaning the living room ready for our new sofas to be delivered tomorrow, electrician is back on Wednesday to fit the rest of the spotlights, wall lights and new hob and then that's about it for big jobs, only one left is to get a stud wall put up between 2 rooms to make one a snug area but it already has double doors on and it isn't a huge wall so won't be a massive job, and then baby can come from Wednesday🀣🀣 I'm staying at my mums tonight to avoid a full house full of wet paint fumes and so I'm out the way, also doesn't help that I've woken up feeling like I'm swallowing razor blades and with a banging headache😩

Somatronic · 25/07/2022 11:11

Thanks for all the good wishes for my football game. We lost, but I was happy for DH's team to win and I was also happy not to have to deal with him moping around for a week if they'd lost so no harm done!

I am so tired though - I haven't stopped all weekend and I'm really feeling it this morning. I had my 16 week appointment this morning with a consultant. I was worried that they'd send me back to the midwives but he said there's absolutely no chance of that so I'm relieved. He did a quick scan so I got to see baby which is good. Some days I wonder if there's anything in there because I can't feel anything yet! I had my thyroid bloods done a week ago and the results still aren't back. My endocrinologist is going to be really pissed off at me because she insists on bloods every 3/4 weeks but what can I do if the hospital is useless?

@paintfairy wow! Congratulations on your beautiful girl! She is gorgeous! Sounds like you had a crazy day - hope you and baby are doing well xxx

@Franklydear the Catholic church definitely doesn't approve of IVF - they often speak out against it. It's mainly because of the destruction of embryos as far as I know but I don't pay them any attention so I'm not sure what their problem is.

@bez91 that comment from your MIL is hilarious. I mean, she clearly raised children herself...?

@Juno231 I'm with you on the price of windows. Shocking! Good luck with the renovation. It's so stressful but it'll be amazing when it's done.

@BellatrixK fair play on the painting - I have no interest in nurseries or anything like that. I hope some sort of nesting instinct will kick in eventually and I won't end up throwing the baby into a drawer or something.

@larrythelizard well done on the tidying! And good call on the cleaner! If we're not living in total poverty by January I'll hopefully do the same.

DKDK123 · 25/07/2022 14:43

@Minster2012 sounds like an exhausting week for you but fun week for X for his birthday. Send a wee cake into nursery and there's a 'party' with all of his nursery friends that requires no effort on your part and guilt free sending him in πŸ˜‰

@Vil10 Cant belive they moved her mid labour, definitely would up the stress levels if it was me! Major brownie points to your OH 😊 Hope you feel better soon.

I was walking back from Asda and got caught in a torrential downpour. I was completely soaked as there was still a mile to walk before I reached home. I can't remember who asked if things under the pram get wet in the rain but I can confirm while I was totally soaked and required a full change of clothes when i got home, the things under the pram remained dry so that answers that question. I can also confirm that loreal double extension waterproof mascara is indeed waterproof πŸ˜‚

Minster2012 · 25/07/2022 15:40

Loving @Franklydears idea of the Churchill dog for @bez91, yes he has a very refined palette actually πŸ˜‚especially for someone do young 😝

@DKDK123 That's a great idea, but I have agreed with my friend that we wouldn't send in cake for birthdays so I don't want to go back on that! I was thinking I should have got him a big "number 4" badge so they make a fuss of him but I've kinda left it a bit late as done f all bout that. Hello Amazon prime πŸ€”

@Somatronic im afraid most of us have found the hospitals are useless and we have to chase for most stuff it's really not ideal but least you saw baby and all good. Are you going to find out gender?

@Vil10 god moving her?? What?? Noone wants that!! Hope you feel better soon. We are having the party at our house, it's smaller than last year which was utter chaos but to answer same question @bez91 this week I'm actually hiding things like jigsaw puzzles so that they can't be taken out & mixed up causing devastation πŸ˜‚. Gonna try keep kids only in kitchen/diner playroom & outside and limit the devastation .

We went to X's friends party on Saturday and one kid was left by their neighbour & he was a right shit, he ran upstairs and turned all their sockets off which f'd up their Sonia player which plays white noise for the baby, he went into the freezer and helped himself yo ice cream, took out every toy & emptied every toy box on the floor & opened the food & helped himself. I mean SERIOUSLY?? I'd have flipped.

Somatronic · 25/07/2022 15:59

@Minster2012 the consultant is really good. He emailed me the result earlier and was apologetic so could be worse. Thyroid is slightly overactive but it's not too bad.

No we won't find out the sex of the baby. I don't want to and DH is happy to go along with that.

larrythelizard · 25/07/2022 16:45

We'd have the shock of our lives if the baby pops out of its own accord ahead of ELCS (not that it's booked yet), DS was 12 days late so expecting similar!

Yes @Soph0105 I agree re too posh to push! Also last time I pushed and pushed and pushed and the little shit stayed put anyway!

The benefit of these early birthdays is that they actually don't know when their real birthdays are @Minster2012!! Loving your seasidey pics, looks bliss!

I'll report back @Franklydear!!

Your OH sounds fantastic @Vil10, really stepped it up! Get some paracetamol down you and over to your mums to be looked after! Our house was such a bomb site, I've been on limited energy pretty much since BFP so any energy I've had has gone to work/DS/gym/social life, it was amazing to come back to!

@Somatronic clean house is incredible, I'd have happily had it as a Christmas present if it was that or not had it done at all! Yes another team yellow!

Haha you should write product reviews @DKDK123!

Feel like crap today, super tearful, nauseous, slight headache and so so tired. Hello end of pregnancy!! DH told DS he had to be nice to me earlier as I was really grumpy. Fair enough! Managed to scrape my car badly this morning, annoying but I think I have some sort of body work protection thing that they threw in for free as they really wanted me to have the car last July! Finding the paperwork is a job for tomorrow when I'm not managing DS and work!

OP posts:
Franklydear · 25/07/2022 18:06

@Vil10 you got a good one there, now behave yourself and stay put till Wednesday, yes my building works will be horrific but worth it, we have a good builder and he's already making good way, looks like the insurance will pay out as well so result! Once labor started not going anywhere, try and move me
@Somatronic ah I forgot the destruction of embrios, that's definitely a no no, but IVF in itself I never heard and have several priests of different ranks as family friends, I tend to hear a lot, specially one who doesn't approve of my views , don't worry, nesting will kick in and then you'll be waiting for bedding to dry so you can wash it again, had difficulty explaining that one to DH😟
@Minster2012 I would have flipped too,bit X is good at advocating for himself, surely he would give the kid some hell
@larrythelizard you have a right to be grumpy, maybe DH can find that paperwork for you

Soph0105 · 25/07/2022 19:11

@2020mission I am genuinely convinced that J would still be inside me to this day if I hadn't had the section πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ two days of induction then the section and that boy was not for moving! I could've had a channel 5 documentary about me!

I am also getting these ads @Minster2012 and I'm not ashamed to admit that I am slightly intrigued... not enough to click on one, but I am tempted...! I hasten to add, not because I want to fast (don't think I'm physically capable, the hanger is real) but just to see what it says

Hope you're feeling better soon @Vil10 at least you're being well looked after!

Oooft good luck @Franklydear i am gearing up for house renovation when we get the keys to the new place and I am dreading it. I need one of those "live laugh love" signs but it needs to say "it'll be worth it in the end" 😫

Yay for a surprise @Somatronic we did that and I'm so glad we did! It's not like you'd hand them back if it was the wrong flavour anyway πŸ˜‚ I believe that is frowned upon

Urgh @larrythelizard that's all you need!

I'm packing up the house. It's shit. How do we have so much stuff? And every time I drop off a massive carload to my mam's garage, there just seems to be more at home when I get back?! Yuck

becarefuloutthere · 25/07/2022 19:13

@paintfairy congrats on baby fairy! Well done πŸ‘πŸΎ mine was super speedy too. It's because of their efficient mums πŸ˜‰ enjoy this newborn phase, it's a whirlwind!! Amazing she came on due date, you should name her something to do with on time or due date, no idea what name you could get from that tho πŸ˜‚

Hope everyone's well! Sorry I dip in and out these days but I'm still lurking now and again 😘

Franklydear · 25/07/2022 20:17

By the catholic calendar, yesterday was Santa Cristina, if you like that one @paintfairy

Minster2012 · 25/07/2022 22:09

@Soph0105 I dare you to click on them

Ahhhhh that's ok then @Somatronic abd that's good on agreement on the gender, I really wanted to find out & DH agreed so maybe it's just a sensible husband thing 😝

@larrythelizard well I mean scraping the car is a bloody good reason to cry tbh. You are basically superwoman managing DS currently whilst full term & still working (even minimally)

@Franklydear X is also very good at being led by others then trying to act innocent, and in our family that's his older cousin (xander is number 2 grandchild) so it could still cause chaos

Franklydear · 26/07/2022 06:48

@Minster2012 that I can believe, I was thinking more he would be pissed off at the boy going through his things but maybe not

www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4597642-probability-of-fingering-causing-pregnancy I give you this, I don’t know if it’s satire, sad or pure comedy

Minster2012 · 26/07/2022 07:36

No he wouldn't be bothered @Franklydear, I've only read the first 5 comments or so on that one and she didn't even lay on the Willy to be able to lay off it 😹I call bullshit

Ok so woke this morning with my stomach looking more pregnant than previously. I really need to eat less as it's just sitting above my scar and on my hips it's awful

Also managed to draw this out of my finger last night after the hawthorn chopping I knew something was stuck under the skin and it was starting to swell but it was still under the skin. You nurses would've loved it 😜

dmb91 · 26/07/2022 08:52

Thankyou everyone!
I'm feeling awful πŸ˜‚ have GP calling me this morning, hoping for some anti sickness.. then have booking appointment this morning too, will update after that!
Mini cheddars are a godsend right now. Will try the travel bands but can't really wear them to work because everyone will see them.
How on earth do people hide it until 12 weeks?
@bez91 I did get my very first peak ovulation test on 7th July so maybe 18ish dpo now? Got a dye stealer yesterday πŸ₯³

@paintfairy congratulations on your little one! πŸ’–

blackcurrantqueen · 26/07/2022 09:26

@dmb91 what lovely news πŸ₯°πŸ˜

Soph0105 · 26/07/2022 10:56

@Minster2012 now you've dared me the ads have gone πŸ˜‚πŸ€” maybe you should click if you can manage with your gammy finger...
