Urgh. Stayed out drinking with next door last night because the weather was so nice. Pray for me in my sweaty box of an office today whilst also mildly hungover 😂🙈 FFS

@Minster2012 I was aiming for twice a week. Kind of Mondays and Thursdays. But I had extra Friday. 🤣 No dtd today though as I have the midwife and was meant to have a sweep. But I'm not sure if I'll do that in this heat...... I don't want a baby. Ah crap about the spa! Always bloody happens doesn't it?! Bit rubbish if it's not really a break?
@DKDK123 I think I'm more excited by other people's babies I've decided. As reading about it is much easier. 🤭 The rocking doesn't sound ideal. Especially since they get heavier! I'm always surprised how heavy even small babies feel after holding them for a length of time. Dead weights! But you'll definitely have good arm muscle!

Do men actually listen? 🤔 Honestly my DH is painful. Jesus. And I've no patience for it. He appears to have conversations with me, yet retains nothing. Saturday we cooked dinner. I told him no cooking after that for a few days as I'm trying to keep the house cool and the kitchen gets boiling after cooking. Saturday was ok ish as night temps dropped so I just open the kitchen door later on. But as from last night- the night temps are insane. I'm keeping blinds/windows etc closed all day. He'd bought a whole chicken for Sunday so I suggested cooking that Saturday along with what we were having, which we did. (Then maybe just takeway for the few days after that). Then we were going to have salad and a handful of chips with it. We do those in an air frier which i did tell him to just plug in outside.
So yesterday comes and I catch him trying to turn on the oven at tea time, along with opening the back door to 'let the heat out' (note there was a wall of heat coming in! 🤦‍♀️ to warm up chicken. I was like- erm no. So it in the microwave or have it cold?! Then he puts the air frier on, in the house. 🙄 Which i gave up. But I did close the back door. Last night was boiling as expected.
This morning he starts going in the freezer trying to get mince out. I said why? He said to cook spag bol tonight. 🤬🤬🤬 Omg. What part of- you are not cooking in my fire pit of a house are you not effing getting?! Seriously? No! 🤣🤣 How hard is that to grasp? And who do I keep having these conversations with, because clearly you aren't effing listening. End of rant. 🤭

Heat tips for us all struggling in the last weeks, I fell asleep last night using damp Muslims to cool myself off a little bit placing them on my head and bump and it was so soothing 🙃 maybe a tip for the rest to try get us through the next two nights?

@paintfairy what is the actual old wives tale of carrying because I think people have different ideas to which ones which? I swear my position changes also daily sometimes I look higher up and vice versa! Hope last nights heat wasn’t too bad for you hunny, not long now! Let us know how you get on with the MW I’m not too sure about the sweep situation but my friends who recently gave birth had two and it set her off after being 6 days overdue🙈
@bellatrixK I remember buying a child’s pool once for mable and the girl behind the checkout asked how old my little one was, I just smiled politely and said it’s for my dog 🙃 I hope the school Temperatures are tolerable for you today hunny!

@minster2012 my baby shower was yesterday and it was beautiful 🥺 my nearest and dearest came and it was perfect, my best friend organised it without me not knowing anything and it was Winnie the Pooh themed which is my actual favourite 😍 we had games, food & cake and cookies, I’ll show more on IG but I’ll post what it looked like on here and the foodie bits, what a beautiful day! Was really overwhelmed but in a nice way that I felt so blessed for the opportunity to be called a mummy to be after the battle to get to this point 🥺 (maybe hormones may have heightened this also) any chance you can have words with mr minster to buckle up his ideas to childmind so you can make the spa day as you more than deserve the break?
@vil10 I love that I’m kinda middle of the list so I can learn tips and pointers of you guys ;) so no filter experiences are much appreciated :D bbq sounds lovely it’ll be perfect weather for it, my dress had to be practically pealed off my skin at the end of the day but it was a beautiful day thank you hunny 🥺🥰❤️

I absolutely love it, I lived there for uni and did my nurse training there I actually met my DH in the first year at uni so it’s both close to our hearts :) it’s nice to come back to it now and again, although we did a detour and raided ikea as you must ;) the picnic was lovely went to Hillsborough park? :) although it’s setting up for tramlines next week

All emotional from my baby shower yesterday cause I'm just a softie, tomorrow I have my 36 week bloods at hospital and Wednesday I have my 36 week appointment to see if bubs has turned which I don't think they have but it is what it is :') then I'll end up going back to the hospital to have a presentation scan to double check then will have to see doctors to make a treatment plan for bubs!

I'm getting more BH @paintfairy but they're not painful (yet). It might be worth getting an internal exam from the MW to see how you're looking before deciding on a sweep or not? I had about 3 and still DS decided to hang out where he was so not a given you'll go into labour. Hope pooch is OK.

Baby shower looks beautiful @kaylsd! Your friends did such a good job! I've taken to going to bed with wet socks in front of a fan and wetting them again when I wake up hot.

Temps here look like they're going to peak late afternoon which is a bit mad - our garden is hottest 2pm onwards anyway so it's going to be a furnace out there later! I need to go and get cracking on all those bags of baby clothes before the sun gets round to the back of the house and makes that little room awful.

And I need DH to plan to go out/to the office so I can get into the loft to find the missing bag!!

Oh it's not that I can't go to the spa cos DH will look after the kids, my point is that it only goes over a day when I would only have B & leaves me then "book-ended" with the 2 full days of 2 kids either side, so it would be much better for me to have a day off on a day when I have the 2kids IYSWIM & he can therefore walk a day in my life with them both which he hasn't done for a day yet. Sorted all the 'baby' clothes from the loft into boy and neutral and size brackets up to 18-24 months so feeling much more organised. Seems to be plenty of neutral 0-3 and 3-6 which will see us through despite having lost a bag in the loft! Now I just need to drop the bag of 'neutral' 0-3 and 3-6 off with MIL so she can wash them for me, they're apparently washing car seats today!

Having a little dip in the paddling pool to reward myself, it's 30c in the shade so imagine it's very hot in the sun (yes I have got suncream on). There was an air show up the road from me this weekend and I'm enjoying watching the planes fly over on their way home!

Well work would've been ok were it not for the lockdown drill this morning 😫 of all the days to have to close all doors and windows with an alarm beeping incessantly for 20 minutes...! I did buy an Iron Bru and some crisps on my way in this morning though so that saw me through. Bit toasty here now up to 32!

@Minster2012 I can always steal all those fans, we are keeping quite cool, everything open at night, everything close in the daytime,
new manager is being fantastic, and we are wearing nice summer clothes to work, and keeping everything fresh as best we can, also have a little garden with a bit of shade, so sitting there for my lunch, keep that shed in good condition, I might still need it, and the whole shenanigans again, at least now I am over 30 I can have a 10 years passport, yes 5 years only until after your 30th birthday, of course I needed to renew mine at 29 and a half

Well ladies I've ended up having abit of a whirlwind morning I guess? Today I went for my routine 36 week bloods (at the trust I'm under they like a baseline set of bloods so they have stuff to compare post baby) and the lovely maternity support worker ended up being amazing!! So she took my bloods and ended up chatting to me and asking how I am and how's baby and I mentioned everything's cooking well just need baby to turn round because they are breech and she said do you have a plan what's going off because of your baby being breech and I said no because I get to see my midwife tomorrow and go from there n she said bare with me two mins and left the room and came back with 2 midwives on duty, one did physical examination of me and found baby's still very much bottom down head in my ribs and other one got the scanner from labour ward and scanned me there and then to confirm the physical examination and then they said I'm so glad you've come today and told us we need to get you sorted and then left the room to grab consultant, consultant then said yep your coming under my care if that's okay and I was like yea sure all abit of a whirlwind 🤣 and then I was slotted into consultant led clinic straight after. My consultant asked me if I wanted the turning treatment and I politely declined and just said im happy to be scanned regularly and if they turn that's fabulous I'll go down natural route but if not im happy with the elective c section route which she was happy to book in so I have my pre op on 5th of august and baby's official date unless emergency C-section/turn for natural is 10th 🥺 so now I need to fill in my usual midwife tomorrow and tell her the girls under my chosen trust (my local midwife is West Yorkshire and my chosen trust is South Yorkshire) that her jobs been practically done for her tomorrow 🤣🙃

Wow that is a whirlwind @kaylsd just as well you mentioned it!! How exciting to have a plan! I'm hoping I'll be booked in for the 11th 🤞🏼. Big pants to go over the scar line, and peppermint tea are my big recommendations (the trapped wind coming home with DS was worse than the C section scar, peppermint tea really helps). Also remember you'll have a catheter in so you may want to take a nightie instead of just PJs.

@kaylsd wow what an appointment! If only we could all care like that :D Have you looked into moxibustion btw? Sounds bonkers but our antenatal class midwife said it has the same success rates of manual turning but without anyone manhandling you lol. Loved your baby shower pics!

Currently 39 degrees where I am and I have to venture out at 5pm for my prenatal massage... Poor masseuse wont need oil with how sweaty I'll be!

Had my 36 week scan yesterday (did I give you an update already?) and all is well! Baby is bang on 50th centile, no issues with anything so just waiting for labour I guess. Had my midwife appointment today to do the routine wee/BP etc checks and to discuss my birth plan. Tomorrow I'll be 36+6 which makes me think of you @Minster2012 !! Isn't that when you had B?

@Minster2012 I'm honestly not sure whether hot pregnancy is worse or trying to deal with a baby? None of it is great. I can't imagine picking up a small human right now so I'm just not complaining that mine is still in there. 🤣
@DKDK123 yes that was my thought with the kids and heat too! I don't think I want to deal with that. 🤣 No i didn't get the sweep - purely for that reason.
@larrythelizard last night was unbearable and I'm pissed off i have no paddling pool. 🤣

Ffs. I hate this weather. Did I mention that? 🤣 Pretty much no sleep last night. Upstairs is unbearable. Downstairs is too hot but better. I ended up just pacing about until around 1am and then it was cool enough to open the back door and sit there. Finally went to sleep on the sofa around 3.30am. Did the horses early and late, same today. Dog won't wee in the garden so the daytime part for that is bloody awkward. He clearly didn't want to walk up the road either and actually is struggling outside in this. I'll be glad to see tomorrow.
Midwife appointment was fine but I was slightly embarrassed to leave her paper roll on the bed wet through from my sweaty arse, even though I was only on it 5 minutes. 🤣 We didn't do the sweep. She agreed it wasn't the best weather to be encouraging it along. She said I could call and try and arrange another appointment for later this week but she had been drafted in from elsewhere due to short staffing and couldn't book it. I doubt I'll get on to be honest but I did try and call earlier and the receptionist failed to even manage to put me through. She did advise lots of sex though and said I need both the sperm and the orgasms. I pointed out that it gives me bad BH contractions and she said that's good! And what I want. Erm. And I'm obviously sensitive to it which might be a good sign for moving forwards. She was surprised by the baby position and thought it was amusing. I did ask whether she thought it could even come out and she said, well its head down so hopefully that'll come and the rest might just follow. Fills me with confidence. 🤣 She did tell me I could refuse induction and request monitoring. So when they call Sunday I'll likely do that. And see if they can sort a sweep. I also have a scan booked Monday anyway so I'm assuming someone at the hospital will have to follow that up, since I've no more consultant appointments now. 🤷‍♀️ But I should think I'll end up with induction later next week, if nothing happens......
Last night my stomach was off though and I went to the toilet a few times. Same this morning. And I had a few painful BH. I was actually thinking don't you dare come now. 🤣 So it would be nice if things just happened. All of my symptoms seem to happen at night too - daytime is usually none eventful. Managed an hours sleep on the settee earlier, yet at night she seems to disagree with me sleeping. Or my body does.

Hello from the seventh ring of hell, although we have dark skies so hopefully rain soon, I actually did ok in this weather, and we are expecting 23 tomorrow so that'll be quite comfy

@kaylsd that all sounds great! C section wise just to echo what everyone else says really, loose stuff, take your own pillows in different coloured (not white) pillow cases, slip on shoes/sliders/flip flops, easy to put on clothes that you don't need to stretch to put on kind of thing really but other than that I don't think I needed much different

@DKDK123 I don't think I'd get a good price for mine atm though his school report& nursery report say he's amazing & really polite/courteous. Not sure which child we bring home then after today it was like lockdown in hell all over again but adding to it "please STAY inside" which is worse 😂

@kaylsd excellent tip on the muslins. I also ended up with cold face clothes wrapped around my feet, attempting to reduce the swelling! Isn’t pregnancy + a heatwave glamorous?! Your baby shower looked absolutely perfect, your bestie did such an amazing job. Your appointment today also sounds wonderful. So good to hear when things go so well.

@Minster2012 eurgh, that’s not a fun set of appointments. I think I might be with your DH. The ground floor of our house has actually started quite cool, upstairs is roasting and we opened the attic to get something down and must shut it again! Definitely steal DH’s fan. You bought them, they’re yours!

To be honest, I don’t know what’s worse in the heat. Pregnancy or little babies. I’m assuming it’s harder with the babies as they struggle to sleep?
To be fair though, my work have actually been lovely. I was really hot in my sweltering, ridiculous classroom and today me and another pregnant girl were offered cooler rooms (we’re normally on the top floor just where the sun hits) and I got one with AIR CON! It was delightful!
My house however, is disgustingly hot. I am also exhausted after attempting to sleep last night. I’m in the north- it shouldn’t be 38 degrees!! I cannot wait for tomorrow.
