Happy Mat leave @Vil10! Enjoy the chill, can't blame you for not wanting to work through the heat! I reckon you could get any trades to hurry up by just wincing a bit! I've been low level crampy a few days a week since about 32w, figure it's just a sign the end is coming.

I think I'm having a boy too @2020mission - would be more than happy with 2 boys (although the big one is quite annoying this morning already)!

@Minster2012 years ago my friend came to visit from the deep dark north and we'd not long moved into our house, we sat in the lounge amongst the pallets of wood whilst three guys laid the floor in the entire downstairs of the house and watched an entire series of Love Island Australia. They took the piss out of how many snacks we had rather than what we were watching!

Oh we've all been there @bez91 - I'm generally fairly unsympathetic with DS if he's just whinging that he has a sore tummy or whatever but has been known to be sick after I've been like, yes darling I'm sure it hurts now eat your dinner!

High 20s would be lovely @Soph0105 - forecast for 37c here which is extremely melty!

My old team have decided I need a send off @paintfairy so am going to London once the heat eases off next week for some drinks!

Had my letter through for 36w scan to check on placenta position, annoyingly it clashes with my hair appt next week so have moved by my hair appt (the easier one to move). Also got to go for repeat bloods as I may have ICP/OC like @feliznavidad2 - bloods taken last Sunday weren't 'normal'. All a bit annoying as all not at my local hospital again!

Was going to take DS out early this morning before it got too hot but he's been up since 5.15 and already quite on the edge (as am
I) so suspect we'll end up falling out and I'll have to carry him a lot so I think we can stay at home for now!

Somatronic · 16/07/2022 08:50

Quick check in. Hope everyone is good!

@larrythelizard yes! I can work from home for the next 8 weeks so I'm delighted!

@Minster2012 there has been no further comment from cankle woman. I haven't told her I'm pregnant so I don't know if she knows.

Work drinks were good except I had a fight with the barman because he lied and said they don't do pints Guinness 0.0 when I had literally had one 5 mins before. So he was happy to serve it to my male colleague but not me. I was not happy. Went to a gig last night and was in bits from standing for hours. I'll have to take it a bit easier I think.

I'm home again for the weekend. Going to a friend's house to choose maternity clothes later and maybe a 3 year old's birthday party if I can be bothered going. Might go to the beach if I get too hot. My parents live in a seaside village so it's lovely in this weather. Have a great weekend everyone. Will catch up next week x

Minster2012 · 16/07/2022 09:05

@larrythelizard oh Jesus yup stay in πŸ˜‚that's some good going on the whole season of love island auz I def don't feel bad for doing it & did also make a comment about "I'm multitasking?!"

@Vil10 yesssss for getting stuff done sooner that's a def perk to pregnancy πŸ˜‚

@Somatronic I'd have been really annoyed at the bar man too, wtf?? Sounds like you've got a busy one enjoy it!

@bez91 how's DD now?

Right the start of a busy day here! Need to load the car

Franklydear · 16/07/2022 09:22

Hello all, just surviving here, and the worst still to come😒 if one more person says you must be loving this cos you’re Spanish, I swear I’ll stab them with the little sticks you put on the bulls, very Spanish, btw, approaching 40c they also get alerts and worried, even in the south, and their advice is stay indoors cos their houses have no insulation and ac, their houses are cool, not little ovens
@Minster2012 lovely witty reply to the plumber, hope you can slow down a bit
@bez91 as a warrior mum, focus on the result, the journeys are sometimes long, you persevered and got dd the help she needs, supermum
@Vil10 oh is right, the more done quickly the better, specially if it doesn’t involve you moving, he’s really coming through getting everything ready for you
@Lexber is bossing it, they are so cute together
@larrythelizard everyday as they come, every pregnancy is different
@paintfairy pethate of mine, health professionals moaning at me, my asthma nurse doesn’t do it anymore, just puts in the notes bmi discussed to tick the box, she did at the beginning, but when I am poorly I am not allowed to diet, I need all strength I can muster, and the steroids make me plump, the conversation on top is just insulting, I put it to get as your fat but there’s nothing you can do about it, so let’s just comment that your fat, cos we are mean girls in high school, so now all my bmi related conversations are just the productive type, I know I am rumbling but, remember you love me, she just gave me an app to loosely count calories and exercise, that I actually like and find helpful

right, I am not too bad but this heat is not liking me, so getting lots of headaches and generally bothered, we did manage to dtd early morning but what a fuff, but cm tells me it’s fw anyway

ok, I have a dragonite to finish this morning, delivery due at 3, eek! Spent the day yesterday trying to get me a passport appointment and now the site has blowed me for 3 days, @Minster2012 might have to hide me in the shed!

InkyPaper · 16/07/2022 09:36

Hello everyone! Glad you're all surviving in the heat πŸ˜„ off visiting family today but saw @Minster2012 question - baby InkyPaper is a girl! (My instincts are shit, I would've sworn a boy) it was the fact she's a girl and not a boy that a couple of family members were upset about πŸ™„

Hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll try and catch up later 😊

kaylsd · 16/07/2022 10:12

@paintfairy & @vil10 happy maternity leave ladies! πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ€±πŸΌ hope you both can have a nice little break before your little ones arrival hoping to swerve the heat wave babies for you both as I couldn’t imagine being in labour with next weeks temperatures πŸ₯΅πŸ₯΅
@vil10 fingers and toes crossed your little bubs is okay for your scan next week and don’t have to be induced, second to @minster2012 that I’ve said from the start I think you are having a little girl :p only time will shortly tell! How exciting!!! (And nerve wracking as I’m due 2 week after you 🀣🀣🀣🀣)
@soph0105 the temperatures next week make me me sweat just reading them never mind being in the mist of them! Saying that I do have a child’s paddling pool to lay in now just to cool down with the heat, beautiful sight for my neighbours no doubt ;)
@bez91 I can only imagine with the little ones needing alsorts cannot be too overly prepared and got to think of every circumstances what you might need stuff πŸ™ˆ enjoy your garden party today hopefully lovely weather for you :)
@minster2012 glad your feeling abit more human after having a little pamper in the hair salon! I’m also vouching the same as you with @larrythelizard with being team blue, any predictions for me? My whole family think team blue which puts a little bit of nervy feelings if little bubs is a girl 🀣 but my inkling is also boy so I hope I can even it out a little bit I don’t even have a girly outfit bought, is that a sign of my inkling being too strong that I don’t even look at girly clothes πŸ™ˆ? can you swerve into the beer festivals post puppets to help swerve the emotions from Xander and B 🀭 hope you have a lovely day today!
@somatronic I wish I lived near a beach, be beautiful in this weather! Hope you have a lovely day :)

Today im meeting with one of my close friends for a little picnic in Sheffield with her little girl who’s 2 month and has the most gorgeous hair already so thick πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜ & tomorrow is my baby shower day, I have no clue what it will be like or who’s going only know that I’ll be abit hot and clammy in my dress and my makeup may melt off despite it being the first time in months, have a nice weekend everyone πŸ₯°

paintfairy · 16/07/2022 14:07

@Vil10 I think I'd have finished during the last heat wave had I had to go out to work, to be honest. Its hard enough dragging yourself round as it is! I haven't finished my hypnobirthing stuff either. πŸ™ˆ Glad you are getting there with the house. And you are not North enough if it's still going to be 33. 🀣 Effing weather. Go away!

@bez91 Glad you sorted DD out and found an answer. Bless her. I can't even get workmen to do anything but I can imagine they would want to be hurrying up to get the job done at that stage. 🀣 We did manage to get another joiner round this morning for a quote and he was like, when are you due? A week tomorrow i replied and he was like- oh. 🀣 I think it shocks people anyway as I'm not that big.
@Minster2012 cheeky plumber! Busy watching love Island indeed. And I think my body doesn't like orgasms. Dtd without is fine.... πŸ™„ Great you managed a haircut! I went on Wednesday for my final one. And no- you just don't ask. But 22 makes me feel ancient.
@Somatronic OMG what a dick of a barman? Just why? And beach sounds good!
@larrythelizard after the heatwave sounds a better idea. No one needs to be out in that.
@kaylsd Enjoy your baby shower! And I thought my baby was a boy before the gender scan. So did other people. The way I'm carrying - people would also maybe assume boy, maybe even now.

Slightly sleepless night for me last night again. The BH went on until gone 9pm, which left me never wanting to dtd again. I still keep getting slight tightening and did through the night but not painful like the ones before. Blinds and windows all closed today- trying to keep the heat out! Done everything i need to today now, so I can sit and do nothing.

BellatrixK · 16/07/2022 15:07

@Minster2012 loving the idea of the show- I love a country show. I used to go to them as a child. And I can’t believe the workmen… some people are both clueless and really bloody rude. Glad you put him in his place.

@Somatronic speaking about being out of order, I can’t believe that barman. Genuinely unbelievable! But a visit home to the seaside is perfect for this weather.

@paintfairy oh no! Those BH sound really painful! Could it be a sign that she’s getting ready to come?

@kaylsd I’ve also got a paddling pool out (originally bought for our pup, but she hates water!) and I’ve never been more relaxed. I didn’t think about the neighbours, but it’s worth it! I’m sure you’ll love your baby shower… maybe just light make up?

@Franklydear my friend at work is also Spanish, but he’s loving the sun! Maybe he’s the cause of the stereotype? Maybe not next week with 35 degrees and full classrooms though…

@larrythelizard I’m imagining boy for you too! I’m also with you on the ice cream. I’m dragging myself away from the paddling pool to go shopping later… mainly for ice lollies!

@bez91 to be fair, I’m sure we’d all be the same with DD. It’s so hard to tell. I have no idea about the carry cot night sleep, but I think it would be fine on occasion?

@Juno231 an 8 hour labour sounds perfect to me! Hope that your feet are doing better.

I’ve decided that I love the early 20s temperatures at weekend in a paddling pool with lots of icy drinks. I’m in Manchester and it’s 35 degrees on Tuesday… dreading it in school. Also, I went out to a leaving party for a colleague yesterday, there were so many old members of staff there and it was lovely. Everyone made such a fuss and our was lovely sharing my pregnancy news! DH has been so good this week, really looking after me. I’ve decided that I like trimester 2!

Franklydear · 16/07/2022 18:08

I wrote a long detailed answer post this morning, did it show? dammit

I made a new Pokemon, I'll put pictures for you of the collection, also on IG , I take orders if anybody wants any Pokemon

feliznavidad2 · 16/07/2022 20:44

Really struggling to keep up but am reading ladies. Hope you don't have OC/ICP @larrythelizard - if you do, I'll send you the details for a really good UK Facebook support group for it.

F is 3 weeks old tomorrow. Not sure where those 3 weeks have gone. 😭

Love the PokΓ©mon @Franklydear - my DS would be all over them, but my Mum has made him a few already. Really impressive though. πŸ‘πŸ»

Franklydear · 16/07/2022 21:13

@feliznavidad2 that's fantastic, great granny work, ds is finding me work with them, today's was a present for his mate birthday, he's on the sleepover so I am on the vino

2020mission · 17/07/2022 00:29

@InkyPaper πŸ˜‚ so I remembered the family reaction but still got the gender wrong! Half a point to me

Minster2012 · 17/07/2022 07:41

@kaylsd team girl for you too!! Get looking at those frilly outfits! How was the baby shower?

@paintfairy have the BH gone now? Time for another DTD then

@Franklydear they are cute! Are PokΓ©mon cute? Ha ha I've made a bed up in the shed πŸ€—

@InkyPaper ah yes πŸ™ŒπŸ» girls rule though

I've woken up to rain!! Weird but good as this time yesterday I was out watering the garden πŸͺ΄ we are having a bbq today for friends so gotta get busy with that

Vil10 · 17/07/2022 08:40

@larrythelizard Thankyou!! Hahaha you're right, I might try it next week!! I also can't believe how amazing you're doing still going to the gym etc!! I haven't been since I was 11 weeks!!! I've been doing swimming and yoga and still walking but you're a bloody warrior!! Annoying that your appointments clash especially not even being at your local hospital!!

@Minster2012 as well as getting things done sooner, the decorator didn't take the full amount off us yesterday!! Said "it didn't take me as long as I thought and I know what it's like being in a new house and having a baby" I thought well what a bargainπŸ˜‚

@Franklydear oh I bet that's annoying!! Abroad heat is so much different to U.K. heat, abroad you have air con and pools!! You know what he really is, I can't fault him at all, he's been amazing, even when things have gone wrong I haven't known about them until they've been rectified because he didn't want me under any stress bless him! Yess for DTD in this weather, I'm in the mood to but then I get in bed and I'm too hot and bothered and OH gets up too early for work in the morning so I'm still half asleep!!

@kaylsd I'm also feeling like 80% it's a girl, at least we're set on a girls nameπŸ˜‚ and we also got a coming home outfit for a girl and boy and the girls is so simple but cute soπŸ˜‚ I'm hoping to definitely miss a heat wave labour, it's supposed to cool down on Wednesday isn't it but we're going to bbq on Tuesday to make the most of it! Hahaha it gets real when you realise people due just before you are next on the list, I feel like that with @paintfairy she's the top of the list and I'm only a week behind😳 hope you have a lovely day today, you deserve it!! And I hope the weather isn't too sticky for you❀️

@paintfairy it really is, the heat just makes you exhausted, I am glad now that I finished on Friday, the thought of doing another 3/4 days is not appealing!! Hahaha we're so last minute but suppose finishing it right at the end it might all stick in our heads?? Hahaha north west I'm classed as! Your BH are really giving you grief aren't they!! Hopefully it's a sign she's getting ready🀞🏼I've hardly had them and when I did it was weeks ago!

@BellatrixK second trimester is the best, enjoy every minute!!

@feliznavidad2 3 weeks?!?! Where has that time gone!!!

@Minster2012 ive woken up to rain too!! Think it's supposed to be clear and be warm later but grateful for the coolness for now!!

Lexber · 17/07/2022 09:25

Hey guys! Thanks @Minster2012 but trust me it's not as rosy as it looks! 🀣🀣

The heat is not helping matters and we have early teethers πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€£ obviously πŸ™„ because why wouldn't they both teeth early... 🀣 what's this sleep I distantly remember?!

Sorry I've been a rubbish passenger!

Between the heat and Elsie's feeding issues it's been hard work!!
She's really struggling with her reflux and CMPA, at 13 weeks she's only 8lb 12oz, she only put on 3.5oz in 10 days whilst being monitored so now referred to rapid response peads team at hospital- just waiting for an appointment (only saw dr Thursday)
Theo on the other hand is thriving, and already watching our food, licking his lips, etc 🀣 he was 12lb 1oz 2 wk ago

But otherwise I'm loving being a twin mum, knew it wouldn't be easy but no baby is easy! We just do our best and ride it out. I do try and follow everyone on Instagram to keep up there so feel free to add me "princess buxton" just incase I struggle to keep up here.

I see we have some babies due soon! I think I'm following you all on Instagram - so excited for you all! I had A in the summer and it was an actual relief to no longer be pregnant in the heat! Rest when you can ladies, stick your feet in cool water to help cool you down and lots of ice lollies! That's my tips xx

Love to all, and I will TRY and be about more - sure I said that last time 🀣🀣

Franklydear · 17/07/2022 09:52

@Vil10 well, I love half sleep sex, so it’s usually six in the morning for us, otherwise I am tired, bothered, not in the mood, small is awake, any other excuse....
@Lexber nothing is perfect, you’re doing great

I took a new jump, business email address and stamp for the packaging, suggestion from another small seller when I was complaining about the price of personalised stickers, now to change everywhere

Soph0105 · 17/07/2022 10:33

We're proper north (for England) @Vil10 (Lake District ish) so I believe we might touch 30 on Tuesday πŸ˜‚ it's been very pleasant up until now! We've told the kids to come into school in PE kit next week... we had rain too overnight @Minster2012 definitely needed! All you preggos definitely have my sympathy in this heat...

Nice chilled weekend here. And I've actually really appreciated the time with PTSD, feels like less of a chore when it's only a couple of days! Let's see how long the back to work novelty lasts πŸ˜‚

Lexber · 17/07/2022 11:55

We're looking 37 Tuesday 😬

Left the twins with dad (I fed Theo first and left him feeding Elsie) for. A quick shower and he's posted this to Fb ❀️ as she fills out she looks more like her brother bless her. Butter wouldn't melt... πŸ™„

I learnt that years ago with A, especially when learning about autism! I am just happy to wing it through each day most days tbh - this 4 kids malarkey is interesting, let's see how I manage the 6 week holidays - and if that's not enough we fly to Fuetaventura days after they return to school because well why not!
In the words of the mad hatter "we're all mad here..." 🀣🀣

Minster's 9th Side Car - who runs the world? Girls! (Where are all the boys?!)
Franklydear · 17/07/2022 12:22

@Lexber beautiful pictures, that my answer to everything unconventional too, it works for us, btw, melatonin is working for us, asleep by nine thirty, I have so much time, now I go to bed before midnight

Lexber · 17/07/2022 16:11

@Franklydear I am so glad it works for you and you get sleep!
The dr wanted us to look at taking her off if recently and I point blank told them not a chance - she has just turned 12 and I had twin newborns!

We need the sleep more than ever now and she especially does, they agreed to leave her for now and reassess at a later date πŸ™„

bez91 · 17/07/2022 16:44

@Somatronic the barman sounds a sexist pig!

@Minster2012 DD is still a bit run down but better than she was thankyou 😊

@kaylsd not far from me in steel city, I work in the city centre. Hope you enjoyed the picnic and it wasn't too unbearably hot and your baby shower too πŸ₯°

@BellatrixK trimester 2 is definitely the one of all 3 that's the most bearable I think. Enjoy it whilst it lasts! Lovely that DH is looking after you so well, make sure he keeps it up until the end!

Arggggh @Lexber sorry to hear you're still struggling with E 😩 it's really tough with one let alone two! Sure you're doing great! Z has really bad reflux which is just getting worse and dread feeding time as it's such a performance. Back to GP tomorrow to beg for omeprazole

@Vil10 @larrythelizard @InkyPaper
On the boy/girl talk. On the couple or classes I’ve taken Z to he is always the only boy. Maybe they’ll all get their pick of the ladies when they’re older because it doesn’t seem very even πŸ˜‚

Family party was lovely. We’ve not had chance to have our annual bash due to covid so it was lovely to see everyone together and welcome 5 new additions to the family in the last couple of years and celebrate missed 30th and 60th birthdays! DH is off tomorrow so said he will deal with Z in the night to give me a break for the first time in 10 weeks πŸŽ‰ naturally my body disagrees and I’ve got a raging temp of 39 degrees, fever, sore throat and headache and it’s not sun or covid related 😭 typical

paintfairy · 17/07/2022 19:14

@BellatrixK I found trimester 2 quite nice really. Agree low 20s is fine. Over 30 is not!
@Minster2012 send me rain! 😫 The BH have mostly gone. Still get odd ones but they aren't as painful as those others. God. Don't think I can face dtd again now until midweek!
@Vil10 yep. No one wants a heat wave labour. I can't believe you've managed to hold off finding out what it is. I'm so impatient. Although part of me wishes we had. I just don't think I could have. Maybe next time..... 🀭
@Lexber it still sounds pretty full on but it also seems like you've got a handle on it. Busy times. And I've no idea how you are braving a holiday abroad. 🀣 Sounds amazing though.
@bez91 rubbish on the reflux. I hope you can make them sort it out. Omg, I hope you aren't ill! Not in this weather! Awful. And in my little antenatal class - 3 are having/had boys, 1 is unknown and then only me with a definite girl. Funny isn't it?

Well, I survived today. Dreading the next 2. I'm mostly hiding inside with blinds etc all closed where possible. Tomorrow I have a midwife appointment where I can have a sweep if I want. But like I want to risk a baby turning up Tuesday? πŸ€” Not that I think she's remotely ready. Do you take a pad in case you bleed or what? But I'm hoping they might offer to do it later in the week instead.
Bloody dog keeps sneezing and behaving like there's something up his nose. No idea if there is, or if it's a pollen thing (he does have allergies) and I've got him on piriton. But I can see me ending up with a vet bill this week. πŸ™„ I am never brave enough to leave these things alone for too long.

Minster2012 · 17/07/2022 20:19

A night off a sticky hot baby @bez91 that sounds great but not when you feel shitty, are you any better? Are UTIs contagious?! πŸ˜‚

@paintfairy have you tracked your DTD? Are you doing more now then when TTC?! You lot laughed at me for maintaining "enjoyment" but I think you guys are doing it more!!

@Lexber awwww what a lovely pic, heres hoping the appointment comes through quickly for E, but I wouldn't have thought there was that much difference from the pics tbh I think you are smashing it & the hols will be easy (who am I kidding?! πŸ˜¬πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ)

@Soph0105 I think when they go to nursery or get looked after it really makes you enjoy the time. I'd love to have "pleasant" weather, it was so sticky here today I think i had boob sweat as soon as I got up

@Vil10 omg get you & your pregnant discounts!! That's brilliant keep playing on it girl!!

@kaylsd did you have a fantastic baby shower?

Knackered. Hot & tired after a social weekend here makes a grumpy Minster.
Planning a night away to a spa with a friend but ANNOYINGLY the only day/night we can do is a weds in august so weds "day" & night then back later Thursday. X at preschool all day weds & Thursday morning, I was actually hoping to go on a Tuesday which is a full day of the kids, make DH do double childcare which he STILL has only done for couple of hours so far. So annoyingly I've still got that the day before which means it's not really a holiday at all. Humph.

Minster2012 · 17/07/2022 20:23

Oh and @bez91 it's odd how the boy girl thing turns out isn't it! Our catchment school is currently 18 children, with 80% girls, the one X is going to in next village is 37 children so still very small but has more of a boy/girl split. We didn't think so small & such a big bias would be very healthy πŸ˜¬πŸ™„

DKDK123 · 18/07/2022 05:55

Eek so exciting how close we are to another run of bus babies being born! Think im equally as excited as I was to my own being born. Im so invested in everyones journeys and cant belive the bus is slowly coming to the end of the ttc/pregnancy/birth journey despite all the bumps we've hit along the way we've made it and we're all about to embark on the nexf crazy ride that is parenthood together πŸ˜ŠπŸ’•

I am reading away in the background whenever I catch 5mins and silently cheering you all on, I'm just not getting much time to reply these days.
DD has decided that being rocked in my arms is currently the only way she'll entertain any form of sleep and even when she appears sound asleep the min I stop rocking those eyes ping wide awake. 😫 She is definitely no lightweight these days so if this doesn't tone up my bingo wings nothing will! πŸ˜‚ She has a swing that does the exact same rocking motion but nope she won't be fooled if it's not in MY arms (yip also currently refusing to entertain anyone else) then sleep isn't happening other than a small window between midnight and 3am where she will bizarrely be fine to sleep in her crib with no fuss πŸ€”
Currently letting her scream as DS is awake anyways so it's not like she's going to waken him up and my arms are aching from rocking so she's down and being an angry gremlin for 5mins.
DS came through at 5am to tell me he couldn't sleep as he was too hot, I'm thinking mate it's 5am it's not even a patch on the heat you're going to feel today! πŸ™ˆ Pass me the wine, it's going to be a long one!

Stay safe and hydrated in this heat ladies, especially the ones waiting to have their babies!
