The health visitor was supposed to come at 9.30am this morn, I had to ply DS with snacks and TV to stop him making the house look like a tornado has ripped through it before she arrived. 11am and still no HV, not even a call to say she's running late or not coming 😡

@paintfairy if it makes you feel any better I didn't have any baby shower at all. Probably a bit of my TTC struggle and losses but I genuinely don't like the idea of a baby shower because you should really celebrate once the baby has arrived safely. Also it's better to buy what you need sometimes than be gifted a load of things you don't? You've not missed out!

@Vil10 absolutely nothing wrong with a 7 pound baby - Matthew was 7lbs 1oz and is perfectly well. If anything I see it as a win as less vaginal damage likely at birth too 😆 also try not to worry about a possible induction. It was a fast process for me and the positive was no chance of a frantic dash to hospital leaking fluids. Sometimes all it takes is one pessary or gel prostaglandin and no need for further hormone drips. I just had a gel inserted and then my body picked up from there.

Sorry I'm struggling to keep up here, a lot going on with job applications, house hunting and having a 6 month old! Here's a recent snap of him being lazy with tummy time. Definitely no danger of crawling anytime soon 😅

@paintfairy I'm sorry you were disappointed by the baby shower. I wonder is it a thing that people in this part of the world don't really "get" it, in the way Americans do? Like it's a weird concept for us that a woman's friends would be expected to buy most of her baby stuff, but that's completely normal over there seemingly. If my friends insist on doing anything I'll ask to go to lunch or something instead. I don't think the gift-giving part really translates over here, and maybe your friend didn't want to make people feel obliged to buy something, though they could have absolutely put a few quid into the card!

@2020mission gorgeous baby! Good luck with house and job hunting. Sounds tiring.

And good luck to those who are doing up houses - that was us just before Christmas and it was a pain in the arse. Still have a bit to do but no money or motivation!

Ha ha on the houses front our architect phoned me earlier to say the planning officer phoned him after the latest extension lapsed yesterday after bat survey & he said they've said it will be another 5 days til next week for planning but should be positive. Fuck me and this isn't even meant to be the stressful bit as there are no objections, bats or issues with our neighbours ffs 🤦🏼‍♀️

@2020mission awww how cute is that photo! 🥰 Thing is- I wouldn't have chosen to have a bloody baby shower! I don't really agree with it either. But to have one so ridiculous was even worse. I would have happily gone without.
@Somatronic well, there wasn't even a card. (Or do you mean gift card?). And no I think people shouldn't feel obliged to buy things and that message certainly could have been given and people then had the option. Some people prefer to buy after, if they are buying. But telling people they aren't allowed to buy anything is a bit strange. And ultimately not her place to?! 🤨

Feeling rougher as the day goes on, if I lie still and not move it makes my round ligament pain go a bit mental but if I move at all it makes me feel more sick...! Annoying! Have some flat coke I'm working my way up to.

I don't know @larrythelizard if we move out to in laws for the boiler/heating & X is at school then it's 25/30 mins each way & much later than DH gone to work so if no one is around to watch B then I have to take her too twice a day (yes I do that now but it's a 5 min drive) so I'd actually prefer to get that done over the holidays (which of course was the plan) what's the interview then?!

Oh and yes it seems like there's a lovely bond developing, X just said "I miss Bronte when she's sleeping"

God. I dunno what's happening but I've got loads of pain and I don't know of I should ring in?! Sometimes it happens and she pushes out etc. It did start that way. But everything is hard? And I've got period type pains. Its more constant though so can't be contractions but I'm not really sure if it's normal? I'll see what happens and call if needed. I'm rocking around the living room. Dunno if she's trying to turn? If it's BH but then surely it should have a break?! I've had it before but not like this.

@larrythelizard don't think you've needed a full bladder since your 12 week scan!

Oh yes @Juno231 it's stillllll dragging on. Our architect says he said to the planners that we'd had a baby who was a couple of months old now & in our last face to face meeting he didn't know I was pregnant 😂, I can only DREAM of picking paint colours. Def phone on in on the pains, does it stop when you walk around?

@Juno231 usually I'm the same with paint samples but we just picked one and whacked it on. Its temporary really until the hall is properly sorted. But that isn't going to be soon by the look of it and I'm didn't want to look at it undecorated!
@Minster2012 no- the pain didn't go for anything. Walking, ball, rocking, sitting. A bath helped though and it's eased a bit now enough for me to see that she's not turned (certainly not the right way anyhow). So no idea what it was. And yeah - it just added insult to injury really with the whole baby shower thing. Would have been better not having one!

Argh @paintfairy I tagged the wrong person!! How was it last night? A good new kick of paint I bet looks much better

@Minster2012 @larrythelizard Yes all OK. I woke up in the night with more pain but it wasn't as bad and I'm OK today. I actually though think I know what it is.
So- the baby pushing/hard belly and tightening was clearly the baby. Why she was doing this i don't know and I'm not sure which caused which. But at the same time I think I had really bad trapped wind/stomach pains low down (these were the worrying ones). Only you can't tell what's what when everything is hurting. I only knew later when the wind was coming out! I think it's these bloody iron tablets. 🙈 So when I woke up again in the night i just took some lactulose. But now I've none left so need to get more. I'm only taking 1 iron tablet a day (meant to take 2) but they are evil? They'll recheck my blood Friday so hopefully be enough.
@larrythelizard guess it doesn't matter if you are happy with an ELCS anyway? But I hope your scan goes well!

Well I'm currently position 20 waiting to speak to Leeds st James' endocrine department to get a telephone app they keep sending me letters about, whilst B plays with a bottle instead of drinking the milk. She's being really unsettled again, & she's been constipated from the gaviscon so I dropped that a bit then had a poonami this morning, she's now being major fussy.

And with a very unsettled night don't have a disagreement with your partner at 3am. Probs don't end well 🙄

Hi everyone it's been a rough couple of days at PTSD towers. We have had the full spectrum of illness from D&V to cough and cold 😂🙈 currently nap trapped on the sofa trying to ignore PTSD's nose dripping onto the sofa fabric... oh and awkwardly trying to look busy while our purchaser's surveyor does his rounds 😂 low point was yesterday when PTSD shat through his nappy and 3 layers of clothing. Don't think the smell will ever get out of my nostrils.

@paintfairy sorry about the shit shower, especially when you didn't even want it! Also trapped wind is horrific.

@Minster2012 hope you enjoyed your fish finger sandwich and that your H isn't under the patio...

@Minster2012 how sweet X saying he misses her when she's sleeping 🥰 Mine is still very much in love with his sister but at the same time having periods of being irritated wirh her crying or jealous with the attention she's getting, which I know is to he expected but it does make you feel like a shit mum not being able to split yourself in 2. He asked me yesterday when I was going to start loving him again as E gets all the cuddles (I do try to make sure hes given lots of cuddles and attention throughtout the day but as she gets winded over my shoulder he's taking that to be her getting extra cuddles and obviously it happens a lot throughout the day) 😢 I actually sat in tears after he said that feeling like utter shit, I thought I'd been doing well trying to juggle my time equally between both but from his perspective to hear hes thinking i dont love him was heartbreaking.

@larrythelizard glad to hear you're feeling a bit better today, hope all goes well with the scan today tho don't worry if placenta is still low if you're opting for a section, mine was low with both sections.

@paintfairy trapped wind pains when pregnant can be excruciating! The consultant told me to take 1 iron tablet every 2nd day she said new studies showed the body actually absorbs it better every 2nd day rather than every day, ask your doc if you can try that and it might be easier on your digestive system. I'm on them for 3 months post baby and definitely finding the every 2nd day is easier on the stomach.

Midwife was a no show at all yesterday not even a phone call, waited in this morn just incase but still nothing, I'm not chasing her I have no concerns about DS so if she wants to see me she can chase me up 🙄
