@feliznavidad2 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🎉she's beautiful huge congrats & I'm so pleased it was then fast in the end xxxxx

paintfairy · 27/06/2022 08:00

@Somatronic Yeah MIL - thanks. Still, mine is actually worse possibly! Hasn't congratulated me. Hasn't even been in touch since DH told her we were expecting. She never does though. And in their family group chats (she lives abroad) with his other family- she's not acknowledged any updates, nursery photos, anything! I would think it quite unlikely/bad luck you'd get chicken pox now. Obviously stay away from anyone with them though!
@Minster2012 Oops. That's what happens when I'm trying to read too much at once. I'm glad X is still happy. 🤣 The pooh bear thing is funny though! I hope you carry on getting away with fluffy days! Cooler room makes sense! Our nursery isn't as its front facing like our room. So no different. But I hate the heat and can't sleep so babies clearly are going to as well! No judgement here. 😁
@Soph0105 fish fingers for the win! 🤣
@DKDK123 yay for dtd! 🥳 None of that here. 🤭 It sets cramps off so I've given up. Have you tried logging out, closing the browser, reopening and logging back in again? Mine is OK on my phone. I definitely couldn't use just the app.
@larrythelizard mine has never been non diagonal. Its beginning to get uncomfortable though. I have a scan Friday. Holiday looked lovely! Throwing up from DS less so.
@bez91 maybe calpol isn't as nice as it used to be? 🤔
@BellatrixK great news on the pram. I found the 20 week scan actually came quick? Time only dragged up to the 12. After that it's flown by! And now I'm panicking!
@Vil10 I think baby size is hereditary to a degree? And 7 pounds something isn't really that small. I'm fact it isn't small at all.
@kaylsd no turning yet. I've bought a ball though. Its actually really uncomfortable with her this way around! She needs to move!
@franklydear I never tested much to be honest. I just found out disappointing every time. So do what you feel?
@feliznavidad2 woop! 🎉 Congratulations! I'm glad the end part went much quicker for you! She looks gorgeous. 😍 I hope you are doing OK.

I'll give my update later as I've run out of time. 🤣

InkyPaper · 27/06/2022 09:19

@feliznavidad2 wooooooooooooooop!! Congratulations!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

@paintfairy @Vil10 yeah I wouldn't exactly call a 7lb baby small - I think I was around the 7lb mark when I was born and no one has ever referred to me as small or dainty in my life 🤣 the scans can be a bit rubbish on sizing - my mate was told her baby would be massive and he ended up being just under 6lb and was tiny!

Juno231 · 27/06/2022 09:32

@feliznavidad2 aah congratulations!! She's gorgeous and I love the name <3 Hope you're both doing well? Do tell us about the delivery if you feel up for it one day!

My friend who was due on the 3rd of Jul had her waters break yday morning. 24 hours later and contractions since yday early afternoon and her cervix is still closed... I feel sorry for her as she's already knackered! Sounds like it'll take days just like for you @feliznavidad2

Vil10 · 27/06/2022 09:44

@larrythelizard Thankyou!! I'll have a read of that!

@Franklydear well I'm hoping with it only being Portugal, if I feel anything at all I'll ring him and the flight home is only 2 hours, so hopefully he wouldn't miss anything😬 you're right!! How they estimate their weight is just so inaccurate, I'm trying to take it with a pinch of salt but also worrying slightly too! I think if it's going to bother you and be sat there in the back of your mind I'd test, but if you can push it to the back then maybe wait??

@bez91 haha Thankyou! It's all OH's doing, he wants as many messy jobs done before the baby arrives as possible and somehow he's managing to get labourers and work men in on such short notice I don't know how he's doing it! We're having our electrics done today so hoping by the end of the day we'll have spotlights fitted through out🤞🏼 apart from in the babies room, I opted to have just a light shade in there! Thankyou!! I'm feeling better about it and need to write down my questions before my phone app today, but you're right, baby may just be small, I'll be happy to meet him/her earlier as long as they are happy and healthy that's all that matters!!x

@Minster2012 you're right, I don't even think 7lb something is even small! I think I was panicking because they mentioned making a plan for inducing me and i definitely didn't expect that!!

@DKDK123 it's a good thing you've done!! Like you say, she was fine and I can imagine it being tough but you did the right thing lovely x

@kaylsd surely that'll all work!! Baby will be having a right dance in there!! Thankyou so much, I really appreciate it🥺 I definitely agree with you though, I was so over tired last week and wasn't sleeping well I think my body was telling me something! I think we all know now off others experiences that they can't be 100% accurate with the measuring, and you're right, Thankyou for the reassurance❤️ have the best time away and make the most of it lovely!!

@larrythelizard ooo sorry for the sicky kid, that was always me on planes and sometimes still is, I'm really bad motion sick!! Also annoying on having to travel 30 mins for appointments!!

@Minster2012 definitely agree! I think sometimes no matter how sad or disappointed a negative test would be, you have to decide what's best for you as a family already!! I feel more than lucky to be carrying 1 baby, and would feel extremely lucky if we could have another, but then we'll just get this little one out first and see how it goes😂

@feliznavidad2 absolutely amazing news!! Congratulations!! She's gorgeous too, just seen the pic!! Hope you're both doing well and can be going home soon💗💗

@paintfairy I think it is too! And I agree, I think 7lb something is average and a nice size!

@InkyPaper hahahaha I'm definitely not dainty or petite either! Isn't it crazy how off they can be with them!!

@Juno231 oh bless her, I bet she'll be drained!!

So all go again this week, more fun though and less house stuff, we do have electricians in today, and I've given OH a list of jobs for when he's home, putting shelves up in the nursery, putting our new bed up etc, then it's his birthday tomorrow so we've both booked the afternoon off and going to a restaurant called fazenda (not sure if any of you have one where you live?) then going to junkyard golf after with another couple, out for a meal again on Thursday with my family for OH's birthday, then my baby shower Saturday, which is out my house, and was planned to have there when we thought we'd be in sooner, the plan was to have it in the extension and then the garden as none of the other rooms downstairs are ready, and with it being July by then I thought that would be fine, obviously the weather is forecast to piss it down all week, especially Saturday, so now I'm panicking and everyone is on the search for a big gazebo for the garden🤦🏽‍♀️

bez91 · 27/06/2022 09:49

Congratulations @feliznavidad2 she's lovely 😍 similar to me I was 2hrs 55mins from waters being broke to birth - so appreciate your absolutely mental comment! Hope you are doing well ❤️

@Minster2012 well naturally we don't make a habit of 🍆 at 4am but with 2 children that don't sleep we thought we'd be able to fit it in then, clearly we couldn't have timed it worse 😂 did B knock out another super sleep last night?

@larrythelizard wow, you're a better lady than me my stress levels would have been sky high with vomming child on plane, well done for holding it together, hope you're all ok!

You're right @DKDK123 he does need to work it out himself. I've had a gripe with DH about learning to put DDs hair in a simple pony tale for a couple of years so she doesn't look feral if for whatever reason I'm not here. So I purposely forced his hand the other day and just went out knowing he needed to take her out!

@paintfairy I can confirm calpol tastes the same as when I was small 😆 just to point out you're next on the list 😉

@Franklydear still testing this week though?

Sleep depravity is killing me 🤦🏼‍♀️ DD still not right, definite ear infection but the sporadic fever, headaches, nosebleeds and neck ache and fatigue since Thursday are worrying me so waiting GP call. Z's colic I hope has peaked because he just cries what seems to be all the time 😩 so I've broken the no caffeine recommendation from the GP as I've been told the wait list for a 24hr ECG is up to 4 months 😂

larrythelizard · 27/06/2022 09:56

I agree with you all @InkyPaper @Vil10 @paintfairy - 7lb is not small! I'm also unconvinced about the accuracy of the measurements - they said DS would be 11lb ish and he was a much more more 9lb. Also my sister is in France and had many more scans and appts than we do here and at no point picked up that baby was small - she was born at 41+2 and 5.5lb! Perfectly healthy, just on the small side.

I'm finding it interesting that all the babies on the bus so far have been early/very close to due date - of the 8 in my NCT group, there were 2 inductions for health reasons, 1 a couple of days before due date and the other 5 were all at least a week late!

Hopefully there's a lot of space where you're going @kaylsd so you don't accidentally murder anyone! I really like my in-laws but I think that would be too long for me to spend with them!

I suspect there's a lot of people like you @Minster2012 who stop at 2 because that's the sensible decision, not because it's what they really want. Bloody adulting eh?!

Raining and back to work today, ergh. Angel PIL took a couple of loads of holiday washing home yesterday - they came over to bring us dinner that MIL had cooked for us and they've just been to take DS - no nursery today, can't risk more sick there and an enforced 48h ban! Pretty sure it's food poisoning for him rather than a bug as we're both still ok

Soph0105 · 27/06/2022 10:00

Congratulations @feliznavidad2 she's a beauty ❤️❤️❤️ definitely need all the gory details when you're up to it!

Anyone else have a demon child who will only settle again once he's had an emergency 3am yogurt?! 🙈

Soph0105 · 27/06/2022 10:03

Actually, that's not even the worst bit. He's woken up the last 3 mornings in a row with shit sprayed out of both legs, out the back and up the front of his nappy?! 😭 I've done so much washing

Somatronic · 27/06/2022 13:15

@feliznavidad2
congratulations - she's beautiful. I'm glad it wasn't too drawn out in the end. I hope you're recovering well.

@paintfairy you win. I'm sorry to hear that your MIL is awful too. At least yours lives abroad so you don't have to look at her much. Mine lives four hours away and refuses to travel unless she's chauffeured so we rarely see her which is a blessing.

@larrythelizard that sounds awful - hope DS is feeling better now.

@Soph0105 your last post made me so exited for motherhood 😮

Soph0105 · 27/06/2022 14:04

To be fair @Somatronic it has now been made very clear to me that PTSD has some sort of stomach bug on the go... we've also had some spectacular vomit incidents this morning 🤦🏼‍♀️ you know it's bad when the emergency disposable nappies come out to play!

Somatronic · 27/06/2022 14:10

@Soph0105 the poor little pet. I hope he's over the worst of it.

Juno231 · 27/06/2022 14:13

@Vil10 I'm tired just reading what you've got on this week!

@bez91 bleh vomming blood can't be nice - does your DC get nosebleeds regularly or was this a one off?

Err... I can't believe we're top of the list now @paintfairy @Vil10 !

I'm knackered and have just had a one hour nap on my lunch break. I'm also eating like a pig today. According to my baby apps the baby puts on almost a pound around this week so I'll blame my behaviour on that lol.

Had my antenatal class social on Saturday and it was great, I'm looking forward to the group of ladies having their babies soon. Yesterday we visited friends in Kent who have a big heated pool and gorgeous views of the countryside - again another great day but I could have used a quiet weekend to just relax. Luckily I think we only have something on the 11th to do and otherwise are free until baby arrives!

Juno231 · 27/06/2022 14:14

Btw MN has found a new way to be annoying... I wasn't able to post the above message as it was telling me one of the usernames didn't exist. Turns out it didn't like it when I used Vil10 with a lower case V! How anal is that!?

BellatrixK · 27/06/2022 20:15

Yay!! Huge congratulations @feliznavidad2 such a beautiful picture on Instagram and a gorgeous, strong name.

@paintfairy that’s rubbish about MIL. Some people one don’t deserve to be involved in nice things…at least she’s far away!

@Minster2012 100% the right idea. You definitely are right to adapt to what your baby needs, whether that fits in with expectations or not. I think after waiting so long for a BFP seeing a BFN, even if the timing/situation isn’t right, will always be sad. Maybe?

@Vil10 sounds like your DH is a miracle worker, it’s hard to get work men at the moment. So good to get so much done and so quickly! Ohhh. I love Fazenda! Enjoy. So exciting that it’s your baby shower soon!

@bez91 oh no. You and your little ones are having such a rough time. I can definitely understand breaking the no caffeine rule. A 4 month wait is a joke though.

@larrythelizard I thought the same. People keep telling me to expect the baby to be late, but this bus is definitely making me expect an early baby. PILs sound wonderful. Mine are like that and I feel so lucky!

@Soph0105 oh dear! Both 3 am yogurt and poo explosions are not something I’m looking forward to! People at work have been telling me similar delights about babies and nappies…

@Juno231 what antenatal classes are you doing? I’m looking them up at the moment. I’m the same with naps- honestly can’t survive without them!

I honestly thought a 7lb baby was the average, ideal size?

I’m currently hectic with work. I thought it would be nice with Year 11 gone, but I’m drowning under a pile of marking/assessments and trying to get things sorted for next year. I am also completely unable to stay awake after 8pm… sorry to those of you who dint have the luxury of lots of sleep!

Minster2012 · 27/06/2022 20:24

@Vil10 7lb is a perfect baby size, like the quintessential cute newborn 🥰

Eeeekkk @Juno231 how's your friend?? You lot are next @paintfairy @Vil10 I'm excited!! It's so nice when we get the babies coming! MN isn't making me use capitals @Juno231 😂

Love the name and the baby @feliznavidad2 beautiful 😍

Omg fazenda @Vil10 MEATFEST love it! Haven't been since I moved from Leeds but we gave something similar round here, I've not been though. You have got wayyyyy too much on. I think it's more likely that AF is on the way as I'm now v bloated I look worse than when I'd just given birth 😂

@bez91 mate I'm so sorry that the infection isn't gone & Z is cranking it up. Have you got anything for him? I'm sending you alllll the caffeinated hugs. Errrr yeah, it seems my issue is that my children just don't want to be near me, they want to move out & get a decent nights sleep 😴

Actually you are right @larrythelizard most of our babies have arrived in good time...best get that packing done of a hospital variety not holiday 😂. And yes, def sensible for only 2 kids. I could do more, in my heart of hearts i would love another but it's not right. Oh and RAIN YESSSSS as I cba to water the garden AGAIN. Bless your in laws & pleased DS is ok overall

@Soph0105 exactly how do you work out from a non speaking BABY that an emergency 3am yoghurt is what he wants 😂. Best get some more disposables love 😝

@Somatronic no rose tinted glasses allowed here I'm afraid 😝

Minster2012 · 27/06/2022 20:25

Oh and @BellatrixK you can have the sleep, I'll have your wine & gin 😂

BellatrixK · 27/06/2022 21:21

@Minster2012 i miss wine and gin! i went out for tea on Sunday with family and asked for a gin and tonic without the gin - I specified a nice glass, all the ice and fancy fruit etc. It nearly fooled me!

Minster2012 · 27/06/2022 22:16

@BellatrixK that's what we did for 5 months to fool ppl when they didn't know. I still missed the gin 😂

paintfairy · 28/06/2022 08:02

@InkyPaper wouldn't say I'm small or dainty either. I'm hoping they haven't over estimated size though, or she really is small!
@Juno231 24 hours for nothing?! Sounds, erm, delightful. 🙈 List? What list? 🤭
@Vil10 Typical weather! You can't plan anything here. 🙄 Hopefully someone has one you can borrow?
@bez91 shhhhhh. I've decided I'm not next. Wtaf. Lack of sleep sounds miserable. 😔
@larrythelizard I wonder if it's because most people on here have issues? And I don't know how you coped with an ill child on a plane either!
@Soph0105 I think I'd prefer the yoghurt problem to the shit problem? 🤣
@Somatronic I've met her once for my wedding. Can't see her ever coming over again (her coming for that was a saga) and no way am I going there. So I'll never have to see her. I don't care. But I do feel sorry for DH. It must be awful that your own mother shows no interest in you. Mine is quite the opposite.
@BellatrixK I went through a phase where I couldn't stay awake.
@Minster2012 soon there'll be very few pregnant people left on this bus and I think we do need to move to another board!? 🤣 How does it go so fast?

So- I'm bloody shattered. The weekend was busy. We bought paint and painted the hall (downstairs end first). Took most of Saturday for coat one. I also picked up a joie baby swing and a birth ball from fb marketplace. Sunday we frantically tried to get coat 2 on before the baby shower. Succeeded. So now we've got upstairs to do this week/ weekend. Baby shower. Well. Not really sure what to say about that. It felt really awkward to be honest. Bit of a non event. No one bought anything at all. Mum decided that I couldn't come away empty handed and arranged a voucher for me that people could put in for. However only 2 people did and so she's massively out of pocket. The organiser didn't even, as she said she'd bought something already (which she did give me before the shower). Mum asked me what it was (a babygrow) and was like- what?! My other friend (saw her yesterday, she came over) was also annoyed as mum had told her (she gave her a lift to the shower) about this and she was like- so she's allowed to give paintfairy presents, but we are not?! 🤔 Shambles. 🤣 No one took a single photo but then there was nothing to remember i guess. Dunno. Just a shame.
I still need to sort my tip of a house out. Still haven't finished packing my hospital bag. Baby still hasn't moved. I have ordered some cheeky wipes though with a discount code!

Juno231 · 28/06/2022 09:37

@BellatrixK I went with Bump & Baby as they're popular here in the Big Smoke but I think they can be trickier to find outside of London.

@paintfairy ah I'm sorry about the baby shower, I'm just glad you had a nice one the week before at least! and well done on the painting - what kind of colour did you go for?

@Minster2012 my friend is still nowhere near having a baby! Waters broke 9am Sunday morning, contractions started early afternoon Sunday, got hospitalised Monday morning and is now on a hormonal drip for induction and last I heard she'd only slept 20 min last night and was only 2cm dilated. At this rate she's heading down the same path as one of my other friends who ended up with a C-section purely because she was too exhausted to push by the time she finally had dilated enough!

I'm shattered today. Spent 2 hours after work at the house ironing out details like loft windows, spotlight placements, eaves storage etc. Then went home for a quick dinner and then went back to the house to take some more measurements. Got home at 10pm and went straight to bed. Looks like we're going to bathroom showrooms this weekend to pick a loft bathroom!

paintfairy · 28/06/2022 09:49

@Juno231 DH is boring and wanted something very light. Problem is its so light it looks barely any different from the white mist coated walls that were there. So i half feel like my hard work is for nothing as you can't even tell. 🤣🤣
I think with induction most people don't realise you don't just stick the pessary in and that's it. The hormone drip is the 3rd stage and once on it, you can't ever come off either. Well, until you've had the baby. And usually the whole process does work- but like you say, the issue is that by the time you are anywhere near labour, you are too tired to actually do it! Lucky people manage to not get that far and their body will do what it needs to. But you don't know if you are one of those people until its too late! Bathroom showrooms? 🤣 Funny the things you do before having a baby.

larrythelizard · 28/06/2022 10:00

Jeez @Vil10 you're a busy bee! All sounds fun, can you outsource anything to friends/family?

Sending sympathy @bez91 hope you can get to the bottom of what's up with DD at a minimum, maybe DS has a touch of it too which is why he's so miserable?

Hope PTSD is feeling better @Soph0105

School holidays are in sight @BellatrixK you can get there!!

Obv not even started on the mega pre-baby to do list @Minster2012 - worries me a bit but with DS being off nursery and around a bit more the house just gets messier and messier. ILs available from 11 today so DS still here - he's currently annoying DH though.

Is the end in sight for the house stuff @paintfairy? What a random baby shower, nice of your mum but wtf with the rest of them?!

Your poor friend @Juno231 - hopefully she's on an epidural at least at the moment? That bit of my labour was lovely (whilst it worked!)

House Renos take up so much mental energy @Juno231!

So, guess who threw up in the night...cheers DS! Trying to keep sipping on water and eating some dry crackers so I don't get migrainey. Need to be better - got a scan tomorrow and then seem to have an accidental interview on Thursday (as well as calls with my boss and also a senior lady at work...!)
