Hi Dollfac
congratulations on your pregnancy :)
Firstly you should know that Private Scans are not that reliable - they aren’t regulated at all - my consultant told me many times to steer clear of private scans, as they get some quite concerning differences when women have had a private scan and then rushed back to the NHS for a scan. I would steer clear of them if I were you …
the nhs is regulated and much much more reliable
if you can go to your local EPU and be seen there? I would do that for some reassurance - or find a recommended NHS fertility consultant who works privately .. that’s a much better option but more expensive
what alarms me is the discrepancy in what you were told - I’ve had so many early scans now … I have always been given an exact week and exact day for example 6+3. As a few days will correlate with a different CRL measurement … so to tell you 6.5-7 is not correct practice at all and then to read on your scan 6+3… sorry but that is dreadful and not accurate enough! - the measurements correspond quite accurately to dates
Your dates are usually calculated from the First Day of your last period
For example with me … I measured earlier because I must have ovulated earlier
If you had irregular periods you might have ovulated later that’s always possible
Did they tell you what the heart rate was ? Because that is also important, to know what the HB is
I think you should go to EPU and get a proper scan - as everything you have mentioned doesn’t sound right - poor you no wonder you’re left worried and confused.
Im sure everything is fine with your pregnancy, and I’m pretty sure the scanning place went to wasn’t up to standard by the information you have given .. when you don’t get the correct information it causes more stress, try not to worry and call your local EPU and explain the situation and try to get seen ASAP
