Anyone due February? I know it’s super early but I’ve had my BFP at what I think is 8DPO so it looks like I’ll be due the first few days of February!

@MamaSJ15 thank you, glad I'm not the only one. I hate this first trimester worrying Sad

I hope everything is going ok for you today and you're feeling well.

MamaSJ15 · 07/06/2022 13:35

@IHaveBeenFallingFor30Minutes thank you, I am feeling better today. Cramping minimal at the moment thankfully so I don't feel as bad. Spotting still just spotting.
How are you feeling?

RBSK1 · 07/06/2022 13:42

@IHaveBeenFallingFor30Minutes I'm in that awful position of not being able to tell work because I have a contract review coming up that could be make or break and I just know a pregnancy announcement before that would see me likely out of a job 😩

IHaveBeenFallingFor30Minutes · 07/06/2022 13:50

@MamaSJ15 I'm glad to hear you're feeling better Smile

I am just tired and peeing all the time! It sounds crazy but I just want the sickness now. Had HG in previous pregnancy so expecting that again!

IHaveBeenFallingFor30Minutes · 07/06/2022 13:51

@RBSK1 that's awful about work Sad it's rubbish that it's 2022 and we still have to feel like that in the workplace. Hope your contract review goes well.

TheElders2014 · 07/06/2022 14:23

@MamaSJ15 Honestly I do feel a lot better, just had a phone call from the team and my HCG is now 1,100 and for 4-5 weeks pregnant is apparently still a little low but they need it to keep rising, in comparison to 428 on Sunday - it is rising to me!! 60% a day really??
I have another scan next Tuesday, if they still can't see anything they'll take more bloods on the Tuesday & Thursday!! xx

RBSK1 · 07/06/2022 15:03

@IHaveBeenFallingFor30Minutes it's the worst thing about having kids, if you job hop to get better wages and fall pregnant you feel like you can't tell them before your review incase they dismiss you for promotion/pay rise or even to change from a fixed term to permanent

YoureAMeanOneMrGrinch · 07/06/2022 15:57

@runningandrunning messaged you x

YoureAMeanOneMrGrinch · 07/06/2022 15:59

@IHaveBeenFallingFor30Minutes I need to tell my manager soon as I'll need to leave early for my booking appointment.
I work in a school so will finish work the third week of July and won't really see anyone (I expect I'll be in a few days over summer) until September when I'm 4/5 months pregnant so don't want to spring it on them

Onefootonthemoon · 07/06/2022 16:42

Hello everyone mind if I join this will be my first ever post here :)
i have recently found out I am pregnant 4+2 me and partner are extremely excited been trying for 6 years.
We have a pregnancy of unknown location back last year and had to go down the ectopic route unfortunately at 9+3.
feeling scared hoping for a healthy pregnancy have first scan 7+1 weeks to check it’s not the same as last.
congratulations on all your pregnancies

Peonies94 · 07/06/2022 18:03

@TheElders2014 aww it’s such a stressful time isn’t it! I have a scan tomorrow and I’m almost 6 weeks! Was it an internal scan you had? I really hope everything goes okay for you 🀞! I didn’t think you’d see anything on any kind of scan until 5 weeks +! And then only if internal!

@TheElders2014 those bloods seem good to me, isn’t it meant to double every 48 hours? So double would be 900? I had my hcg levels tested on the weekend, but they didn’t redo them a few days later so it seemed kind of pointless to me! πŸ€”

@RBSK1 this happened to me - passed on for change to permanent contract from a fixed contract. They didn't even advertise the vacancy just gave it straight away to my equally fixed contracted (non-pregnant) colleague! When I queried it with pregnancy discrimination in mind they hashed an advert from previous year and said it hadn't been confirmed yet....except the news had already been shared with other colleagues, governors and stakeholders (which I was copied into on email)!!! It was an awful place to work.

Margo34 · 07/06/2022 18:24

(when I was pregnant with my DC1)

Peonies94 · 07/06/2022 18:32

Just wondering who’s told people/who has kept it quiet etc?
so my plan was to not tell anyone until 12 weeks, then tell parents close friends and then other people. I have quite a high risk job, and certain duties I am unable to do. So basically i’ve had to tell my managers (3 of them) plus the person who does risk assessments. I kind of feel guilty that lots of work people know now, and my family don’t!! I think I might wait until my 8 week scan and then tell parents/in laws just because I feel a little guilty telling them 6 weeks after all the people in work, but equally don’t want to tell them and then something happen early days! So tough choosing what to do!

I’ve only told my best friend who is also pregnant and told me straight away. It’s nice to have someone to talk to and I know she’d be there for me if anything goes wrong. We’re thinking of telling just our parents at 6 weeks as I think we’d tell them if we lost it anyway. Still wondering if it’s the right thing to do though?

@RBSK1 hope your contract review goes well πŸ™‚

@Margo34 that’s awful!! Such an unfair situation. Do you still work at the same place?

@Peonies94 I might need to tell work earlier than I’d like too. I’m a teacher and we have just over 3 weeks left until the end of term. Feel guilty not telling our headteacher before staffing is confirmed for next year as they may want me out of class and someone else in class if I’m going on maternity leave in February. I’d need to tell them before I’m 7 weeks though. Telling them in the summer holidays seems unfair if they’ll want to reshuffle teachers. So many things to weigh up!

MamaSJ15 · 07/06/2022 18:56

@Peonies94 we have told some close family members/friends and my manager at work. But to be honest that was mainly because I was in quite a lot of pain and was worried about it. Were now booked in for a scan at early pregnancy unit on Friday so assuming all okay we will probably then tell the rest of our family (not told anyone on DH side yet).

Peonies94 · 07/06/2022 19:54

@MamaSJ15 @PeachCottonTree thibk I’ll wait until my 8 week scan and if all is okay, we’ll tell our parents! Will tell other people as time goes on then☺️! It’s atleast only 2 weeks after telling work then! Could do with my mums support right now, so can’t wait to tell her!❀️

OP posts:
MamaSJ15 · 07/06/2022 20:02

@Peonies94 why do you feel you shouldn't tell your mum yet? I'd always want my mum to know, it's good to have some support, the early days are probably the hardest! But you've always got us lot here too 😊

Peonies94 · 07/06/2022 20:12

@MamaSJ15 well from the start I just didn’t want to tell anyone until 12 weeks! Now I’ve had to tell work I kind of feel guilty for not telling my parents? I think that’s just because I’ve told other people before our parents! I just feel really anxious about it all at the moment like I don’t want to tell anyone until I at least see a heart beat! I’m just a bit disappointed about having to tell people in work! As soon as I have a scan and see the pregnancy is viable (it’s the 23rd) I’ll go straight to tell them!

Peonies94 · 07/06/2022 20:13

@MamaSJ15 aww thank you! I would be lost without everyone here on mn!

How’s everyone feeling? I’m feeling rotten at the moment! Bad nausea, only been physically sick on two occasions, but nausea hits throughout the day in waves, and the cramps are a killer! When the pains hit me in work it really makes me wonder if I’m going to manage to work for the rest of pregnancy, especially these next 6/8 weeks and towards the end! I come home exhausted and spend the rest of time napping and feeling sorry for myself! I feel terrible for moaning as I tried for this baby for a while, and it’s soo wanted! I feel so lucky, but also feel rubbish feeling like this!

YoureAMeanOneMrGrinch · 07/06/2022 20:20

@Peonies94 I told my best friend who didn't react very kindly and my mum who wasn't very supportive. Keeping in mind I'm a 31 year old woman with a 4 year old it's not like I'm a young girl. My pregnancy wasn't planned but I weighed my options and decided I was ready for another

YoureAMeanOneMrGrinch · 07/06/2022 20:21

@Peonies94 I'm feeling mostly bloated at the moment and tired. Anxiously awaiting any sickness

MamaSJ15 · 07/06/2022 20:32

@Peonies94 that's fair enough. I know everyone is different with what they decide on who to tell and when. I probably wouldnt have told certain people yet if I wasn't struggling with really painful cramping and bleeding, I assumed the worst but things seem to be okay 🀞

Going to do another FRER in the morning I think and my last CB digital on Thursday morning, I'm dying to see that 3+ weeks on it! Then I've got the early scan on Friday, I'm really hoping the bleeding doesn't mean anything bad.

@YoureAMeanOneMrGrinch I'm sorry you didn't get a good response, that's not very nice. I hope you do have someone around you who is supportive?

I'm not feeling too bad today, only slight 'feelings' rather than intense cramps now, bloated and lower back ache, and literally just now started feeling twinges in my boob.
