Anyone else due January 2023?! Found out yesterday I'm pregnant with baby #2. If my dates are right, I'm 3+6, due 27th January! My daughters a Jan baby, but was due feb (she was 3 weeks early). May just must be a very fertile month for us! We fell pregnant last May too, but never met them😢.

I actually read the thread, and was surprised. Some people can be very rude. But hey, its mumsnet.com, don't worry so much

Somatronic · 27/11/2022 11:30

@VixenAndCub I'm sorry about the pain and the other issues you've been having.

I'm having crazy bad pain and burning sensations in my ribs on the right hand side, both front and back for a few months now. It's driving me bonkers - does anyone have any advice? I'm seeing the doctor on Tuesday so I'll mention it again but they've been useless so far.

VixenAndCub · 27/11/2022 12:09

@PopsicleHustler
Want to delete it but Mumsnet has said no, so got to wait 30 days. So rudeness until then. Going to ignore it best I can, turned off notifications for now. Really wasn't expecting that much traction. Didn't expect for the wider consensus to be that I'm responsible for other people's kids in my home - definitely not what I was taught. Guess it's a difference in generation thing?

@Somatronic
Never heard of that before, but it sounds super painful! I'm sorry you're going through that. I'm not surprised the doctors aren't that helpful... They keep denying me crutches or a chair to borrow for the last few weeks so I can move around. Instead want me to do 6 months of physiotherapy. Not sure how that's cost effective for anyone but hey ho. Really press the doctor that its disruptive and you at least want to know what it is? Let us know, it sounds very painful

I'm having pains in the front of my ribs on the right side! I had it with my son, and I assumed it was his foot. However, I've since learnt that I have gallstones so I think it might be my gallbladder being pushed up under my ribs from the pressure of baby. The discomfort is similar to when I have a gallbladder attack. Have you ever had any gallstone symptoms? Xx

Somatronic · 27/11/2022 21:00

@VixenAndCub oh my goodness your doctors sound bananas. Oh, and this place can be crackers so don't worry about the ridiculous comments on your post!

@TokenGinger oh that's so interesting! I've never had a gallbladder complaint before but I might mention that to the GP just in case. Thank you!

Hi everyone not posted in a while, I’m now 33+2 had growth scan last week and he’s measuring just under the 10th centile he’s grown since 38 weeks but theh want to monitor more so got another growth scan on Saturday and then they’ll put a plan together depending the result. I’m having weekly Doppler scans and heart tracing so the extra care has been brilliant wondered if anyone else has been in this position x

PoppyHenry · 28/11/2022 15:48

Since 28 week scan *

I am glad they're on top of it and giving you some extra care and monitoring.

Mine isn't measuring below the 10th centile, but she has dropped a centile. My hospital's policy is that they'll only do a growth scan after two instances of reduced growth so I am booked in to be measured again next Monday to see how her growth has been since 3 weeks ago. I'll be interested to hear the care route they take for you in case I end up down a similar path xx

PoppyHenry · 28/11/2022 16:56

@TokenGinger how are you feeling about it all?
ill let you know what they say, all the Doppler measurements are all in range just his growth expectation is smaller but my husband and I aren’t the
tallest and we was told there is a possibility of 15
% error either way x

That's good news that they're all in range ❤️

I've been a little worried about it, because I had some instances of reduced movements so got a little panicked, but I have an anterior placenta and when I went in for monitoring, they were picking up her kicking the placenta which I just couldn't feel.

They've only measured me with the tape so far, and I'm not sure how accurate that is. Although, with growth scans I'm not too convinced either. They predicted my son was going to be 10lb based on scans, but came out 8lb which is still a good size, but there is obviously some margin for error like you say.

How are you feeling about it? Xx

PoppyHenry · 28/11/2022 17:05

@TokenGinger sorry if you think I’m rude but what was your initial bmi at booking? My consultant said if you have a high bmi you should be offered growth scans, as tape measuring is t always accurate I was offered them due to my medical history and previously losing our son xx
I’ve heard so many stories of women who have different weight to what they predict just like you described x
do You feel supported when you’ve noted reduce movements? I’m glad you was seen and all is well x
im nervous just want him here safe and me safe too but I’m glad I’m getting extra scans etc xx

Not rude at all! ❤️ I'm not sure what my BMI was but it was definitely over 30 as I had to have the gestional glucose tolerance test due to me hitting the overweight marker.

I think my care is a little disjointed, because I'm under a hospital which is outside of my borough as I'm under the genetics team there. Whereas my midwifery care is under my local area so I am seeing different people in different places so it doesn't always match up. I had growth scans with my son as I have a genetic disorder so I thought they'd have done the same this time around but they haven't.

I am so, so sorry for your previous loss. It must make it all the more nerve wracking for you.

They were great when I went in for monitoring for the reduced movements, I couldn't fault them. I actually got told off for not going early as it'd been happening for a few days and before I called them, I was just trying to get her moving with warm baths and massages etc. xx

PoppyHenry · 28/11/2022 17:26

I would’ve assumed you would have growth scans too x
i can understand why there is different specialities but disjointed care can be frustrating x
im so glad you was seen though and all ok, this pregnancy malarkey is hard work and the human body is just incredible xx they don’t teach you this but at school 😂😂 xx

PoppyHenry · 28/11/2022 17:27

@TokenGinger thank you xx we are under a bereavement team and I e had the same community midwife which has helped xx

TokenGinger · 28/11/2022 17:33

@PoppyHenry I'm glad you're being supported by the bereavement team. That must have been such an traumatic experience. I truly am sorry.

They absolutely do not prepare you for this side of pregnancy at school! It's bloody hard work xx

Hey everyone,
How are you all doing?
I had another growth scan today at 31+5 and baby is still just under 50th centile. Dropped slightly from 28 weeks scan but sonographer said he was pleased so luckily nothing to worry about. I've another one booked on 28th December so hopefully all still continues to be ok

I'm so glad they're not worried. That must be a relief. How are you feeling? Xx

TokenGinger · 03/12/2022 13:44

I can't quite believe we're in Decembers and that we're having our babies next month!! I feel like it's going to fly. Christmas will soon be here and then over again then it's baby time!

Kerryw93 · 04/12/2022 07:58

@TokenGinger how exciting!!!!
Are you guys all prepped for Christmas? I'm personally so pleased we have Christmas to pre occupy us while we are in our final weeks countdown for our babies. Hopefully it may go a little faster 😂🙈 . The excitement is so real now.
My MAT leave officially starts next month in the 3rd, I'll be 37 weeks.
I'm so excited for a few weeks of taking it easy before baby comes. Xx

lilroo87 · 04/12/2022 16:37

@TokenGinger yes, is a relief. Just glad he's growing away nicely.

It's really flying by but Christmas will be a lovely distraction.

icecreamgirl94 · 04/12/2022 18:01

It’s going so fast! Hope everyone is doing okay 😊
We were so busy at work yesterday I’m absolutely exhausted! Day off today and I physically can’t move off the sofa! 😂 Been having quite persistent braxton hicks for the last few days too, anyone else?

lilroo87 · 04/12/2022 18:07

@icecreamgirl94 I'm feeling exhausted aswell. We've been flat out selling at Christmas markets yesterday and today so I'm glad to be home with the fire on and finally relaxing tonight.
I haven't had any braxton hicks, I didn't have any with my last pregnancy either. Are they annoying?

PopsicleHustler · 05/12/2022 06:21

I'm Muslim so I dont have to worry about the old Christmas stress Haha just a normal day of laundry and hoovering and watching trusty Judge Judy.

PopsicleHustler · 05/12/2022 06:38

I hope you're all well and have had a good weekend ! 💖💖💖💖

Update on my life: I have growth scan again this week when I am 36 weeks and will be also meeting the consultant to discuss possible inductions as baby is weighing/measuring ahead.
I know growth scans can be slightly inaccurate, with a chance of perhaps 20% bigger or smaller.

They would want to induce me around 37 weeks which was what my consultant on my last phone consultation around 6 to 7 weeks ago said, I think.
I am quite nervous but wouldn't mind having him early in the school holidays which gives me the time to recover also. And 37 weeks is term and developed.

Been having tonnes of Braxton hicks and period pain and my midwife told me last week the baby is really low down and she can feel 4 5ths of his head is in my pelvis. I dont even know what that means.
I also feel like he has moved down some more.
I am just so excited and ready to go. This weekend coming up I am getting his car seat out of the storage and packing the snack bag for my hospital bag that I did at 33 weeks plenty of Cadbury and apple juice for me and my hubby. I can't wait. Wooooooooooohoooooo.

Hopefully this labour will be quicker. It's my 6th baby and you would think so, but I have ridiculously long labours and latent phases .

Baby no1 - 48 hours induced with 3 pessaries which only the 3rd pesssey finally worked.

Baby no 2- waters broke after sex at 37 weeks, but nothing happened so 2 pessaries and then the awful dreaded drip, managing on just gas and air and pethidine and that was hideous. 48 hours from waters breaking and 6 hours on the drip. The drip did boost it right up. But I would NEVER EVER have it again.

Baby no3- 36 hours labour and most of that was in the house as the hospital kept sending me home due to slowly dilating. Had a water birth which was Amazing!!!! Would do it again! You feel so light and incredible and it really helps with the pain and pushing!!!!

Baby no4 water birth again but was brought out to have my waters broken due to the fact I was slowly dilating. That was 32 hours labour.

Baby no 5 born last year, was 10 hours labour but a week of latent phases labour and having contractions for a week and nothing happening but finally at 2am they really ramped up after being 1 to 2cm for a week and I went to the hospital at 4am at 4cm dilated.

Only had one stitch with baby no5 as she came out with her hand in front of her head like a superhero lol
Never had an epidural. Only pain relief was gas and air and pethidine!
So yeah, let's see how labour and delivery number 6 go!
I haven't really thought about the birth plan, ideally water birth again, gas and air and pethidine and I want my husband to hand me the baby after he has been delivered rather than the midwife ! And If i am being induced a big firm Hell No to the Drip! Its hideous!

Anyone got a birth plan sorted yet? How are we all feeling? Anyone else 36 weeks this week?

H44123 · 05/12/2022 09:40

Hi everyone.

hope you are all keeping well.

@PopsicleHustler i haven’t had anything mentioned re growth as yet. I am only 32 weeks and 2 days, seems odd the measure with a tape measure and it was a different midwife last time so don’t know how accurate that it!

we have literally done nothing, we were waiting for visitors this weekend to get things sorted. Picking up the park/ car seat this weekend and the furniture is being delivered this week so hopefully I will start to feel
prepared soon.

as this is my first I have no clue about a birth plan, I don’t think I fancy a water birth and I will definitely say yes to all pain relief I can have as I am such a wimp. Also unsure whether to have my mum with us when I give birth. I would like her there I think but also like the idea of it being just me and my partner. It’s her first grand child and I very much doubt my siblings will have children either so I think it would be lovely to have that with her too. Luckily my partner isn’t bothered either way!
