@SLee21 I'm also a non smoker and hardly drink so been easy to hide on that front. Dh wants to tell everyone though

@PoleFairy I previously had one at 8 weeks as I was so worried. Luckily for me everything was fine so I felt better after thst. Can fully understand not wanting to ruin your holiday though.

I'm making the most of light nausea atm. It kicked in at 6 weeks for me last time. My symptoms are coming and going atm too. I've felt fine today which makes me worried when I should be enjoying it πŸ™ˆ

fancyfrogs · 23/05/2022 16:30

@PoleFairy ah I've had the same worry about a scan and holiday. Have booked one for next week when I will be 6+3 which is earlier than I would have, but we go on holiday for a week a few days later and I feel like I need it before πŸ™ˆ I had one 6+6 with my son and it was really reassuring so desperately hoping for the same!

PoleFairy · 23/05/2022 17:02

@fancyfrogs i guess I might have to be brave and have one. I would be 7 weeks and a bit weeks if I had one before holiday. It would just be so upsetting to fly off having heard bad news (it's actually our belated honey moon 😊 and baby moon now I guess haha). I have a lot of time to decide though.

Am very tired this afternoon and have sore gums, one has a little hole in it from brushing my teeth so I guess symptoms might be starting!

Nyxxie · 24/05/2022 08:32

Is it ok to join you ladies? I am due on the 29th January ☺️

Welcome, and congratulations ☺️ how are you feeling so far?

Nyxxie · 24/05/2022 11:16

@ZoeGren thanks, congratulations to you as well! I'm all good so far, only slight nausea when I'm hungry, and very tired but that may just be because I've given up my coffee habit 🀣 How about you?

Same really. I'm getting a bit breathless, which I remember from my first pregnancy. But overall, I'm still not feeling 'pregnant' yet 😊

LemonZestDribbles · 24/05/2022 11:34

@Nyxxie the lack of coffee is tough. Don't even like it at the moment at all. Congratulations!

@ZoeGren same on the breathlessness. Can't go up the stairs without puffing πŸ˜‚

Hello mummas, greeting from Melbourne, Australia πŸ˜€

Happy 5th week for those due second last week in Jan 2023! My EDD is 23 Jan 2023!

I stumbled on Mumsnet whilst googling all stuff pregnancy (like we all do) πŸ˜…

I have been a nervous wreck, I found out about my pregnancy super early around 12/13 DPO (which was a 1.5 weeks ago). I am now 5 week 1 day ish. I have been having some light brown spotting (only appear when I wipe with tissues) and some mild backache/cramp since yesterday morning. The spotting kinda come and go (not a lot either) but backache /cramp has gone. I have seen my GP and we are getting blood tests done to check my HCG level and progression. So I probably won't know anything until later this week. I think I am in a better headspace today than I was yesterday, I am positive that this little bean is a fighter.

Is anyone going through similar experience?

FirstBaby23 · 25/05/2022 13:58

Hi! So I was 3 days late when I took the first test and, despite the fact that we were trying, I'm still in shock that I'm actually pregnant. It doesn't quite feel real yet. First baby and its due 25 Jan 2023 - the same as quite a few of you by the looks of it! So we're 5 weeks along today. No real signs yet, a bit of cramping (I thought my period was coming!) and tender boobs but no nausea or anything.

Me and my DH are having constant waves of different emotions. Lots of "Oh sht" moments πŸ˜‚Is that the same for anyone else?

Yep! This is my second so I'm feeling a little bit calmer but I freaked out when I was pregnant with my daughter (even though she was planned) πŸ˜‚

katherine1987 · 25/05/2022 16:35

Congratulations everyone!!
I'm due January 21st with baby number 2. Baby number 1 was IVF so this has come as bit of a shock!!!

Waiting impatiently for 6 weeks scan hopefully next week 😬

PoleFairy · 25/05/2022 16:45

@FirstBaby23 glad you've not had symptoms. I'm just convinced there is nothing there as I feel nothing. My first baby too and also due 25th Jan (although I think I ovulated 4 days early so I might be a bit further measurements wise).

I'm just constantly worrying and I'm not really an anxious person but it's just playing on my mind that this isn't going to last. Not sure if that's normal or not.

I imagine that everything we're feeling is probably perfectly normal, even if its not normal for us. I'm lucky that my DH is a very grounded person. I'm inclined to treat this as though its happening next week and start running around like a headless chicken, researching everything, buying baby clothes and booking antenatal classes (genuinely looked this up today - waaaaay too soon) whereas he is very much of the opinion that its all speculative and hypothetical at this stage and until we're passed a certain point (not sure he knows when yet) he's not going to treat it as really happening. I don't think its denial as much as trying not to get our hopes up in case something does go wrong and also trying to stop me from overwhelming him with everything in one go!

MrsP2022 · 25/05/2022 17:30

I'm feeling really flat today. Not sure if it's down to hormones or not. And my lower back has been Killing me.
And I'm feeling overly anxious and want this baby to thrive. Just scared and nervous every day πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜©πŸ˜”πŸ’œ

SLee21 · 25/05/2022 17:31

I’m not an anxious person at all but I’ve found that I’ve been incredibly anxious with both of my pregnancies. It’s totally normal.
One thing I will say is, last time I was looking every single day at statistics etc. and it didn’t change the outcome, plus it made the time go so much slower. Honestly, try and take each day as it comes and think positively until you have a reason to worry.
These first few weeks are the toughest. Every little thing just leaves you questioning everything. If you’re really worried, hopefully your midwife will be supportive and offer you additional tests/scans to put your mind at rest xxx

SLee21 · 25/05/2022 17:32

@MrsP2022 how funny I was literally just saying this to my other half! No energy and feels like I’ve pulled a muscle in my lower back it’s so uncomfortable ☹️

So glad it's not just me!

Yes my back is niggling! I'm fine moving about etc, but when I'm sat or lying down I can't get comfortable because of it πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ

Rids23 · 25/05/2022 17:50

Hi all, jumping on this post as I found out I was pregnant yesterday, due around 26th January ish so only around 5 weeks.
This will be my second pregnancy - with my first, I didn’t find out until I was around 14 weeks pregnant (only tested for a routine procedure - surprise!), thought I’d had a period but turned out to be implantation bleed. Finding out so early now is giving me major anxiety!
Last week I had a stomach bug - D&V, fever, chills, aches etc and had stomach cramps for a few days. I then started spotting, dark brown, only when I wiped. I’ve stopped spotting now but still getting the odd cramp and got lower back pain. Starting to have a major flap now that my stomach bug was something more sinister 😩 midwives not seeing people early due to covid but waiting for a call back off them tomorrow. Anyone else experienced the cramps, implantation bleed, lower back pain… ?
Thanks 😊

PoleFairy · 25/05/2022 17:58

@FirstBaby23 it sound like me and my DH are the reverse of you and your other half 😁. He's looking at baby grows and worrying about saving his holiday for extra paternity leave and I won't even mention the word pregnant or talk about it aloud because I'm sure I'll jinx it.

Becca12344 · 26/05/2022 12:13

hi ladies is it ok to join I have done 6 strip tests and have all came back with a second line not too faint in all 6 I’m waiting one one more week as the doctors have told me to because it’s early but if I defiantly am I will be due 25th jan

ZoeGren · 26/05/2022 16:31

Congratulations @Becca12344 ☺️ How are you feeling?

I'm due around 27 Jan. I don't feel pregnant today, which is a blessing and a curse! πŸ˜¬πŸ™ˆ

Becca12344 · 26/05/2022 17:48

@ZoeGren I don’t know how I’m feeling I have an 11 month old I had hyperemisis with him for the first 22 weeks it was aweful but I don’t feel like that this time also nervous as the doctors have told me to test again in a week because it’s apparently too early when I’m sat with 6 positives a lot is going on in my life at the minute I’m trying to stay calm

PoleFairy · 27/05/2022 15:58

I'm 5+3 today. Did my millionth test this morning and I have very dark lines (equal colour to control line) but still no dye stealer... Not sure if I should be looking for that yet? I think the end of next week I'll buy another clear blue and see if its gone up to 3+ weeks. Still no symptoms. I have had occasional thick discharge (TMI SORRY). I keep having to check if I'm bleeding and I half convinced my self there might have been a very light tinted brown colour to the last lot but I think that's the colour of my underwear making it seem that way. Is anyone else having this? Its scary because I keep having to run to the loo and make sure it's not blood

L0ts · 28/05/2022 20:24

I was hoping for symptoms to ease my mind a little but now I’m regretting it. Have spent the last two days with absolutely zero energy, napping all day long and feeling so, so sick 🀒

I actually cried yesterday because of tiredness, I literally can’t believe how tired I felt, I don’t remember it being this bad with my son. Is anybody else absolutely exhausted?
