@sunnyd67 congratulations 🎉 another boy for the group 🙌💙 x

barneymcgroo · 16/06/2022 19:09

That's lovely news @sunnyd67.

What's the running total now?!

sunnyd67 · 16/06/2022 19:27

Thank you, I am not conceived though 😄 I probably won't be until I hold him in my arms, really hard to believe I'm 20 weeks already. 💙 I'll have another scan around 23/24 weeks I think that will be my last one, just to settle some worries.

Lizm1990 · 16/06/2022 19:34

@sunnyd67 congratulations 💙💙

Cruz86 · 16/06/2022 20:04

It was either this travel system or a Joie one @Skl2021. My son had a purple pushchair when he was born so anything will be a step up for the new baby 😂 At least little one is using your placenta as the cushion and not you at the moment!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with a spreadsheet/notes @arianasky @Bridgey8!

I'm not feeling well at all today and baby isn't moving as much as he has been. I had a midwife appointment earlier and heartbeat was found straight away, but should I be concerned?! I'm 20 weeks tomorrow.

It's so lovely feeling them more isn't it @sunnyd67 🥰 Re the whooping cough vaccine, I had it with my first and my only side effect was a dead arm! And congratulations on baby boy!! They are literally taking over this thread 😂💙

Oops I meant @barneymcgroo as well, not @Bridgey8 😂

@Cruz86 I had a quick look at a Joie chrome dlx when I went in Smyth's so that maybe my backup option as it's alot cheaper. Apart from that I can't find anything I like 🤣🤦 but I keep comparing it to the expensive ones 🙈 my baby hasn't been moving much since yesterday so I started to panic today but he's gone back to kicking me again. Hope you feel better soon ♥️ xx

Cruz86 · 16/06/2022 20:12

Yesss that's the one I looked at @Skl2021! I thought it was so easy to do and nice to push as well. Good protective hood, isofix....I just ended up going with the Ickle Bubba Eclipse because of the built in buggy board! Aww glad he's moving around a bit more for you. Thank you, whole body aches, sore throat etc 😩 xx

Has anyone had excess saliva?! I'm having to spit out loads every few minutes, or getting a sore throat from swallowing all the time. 🙈

Skl2021 · 16/06/2022 20:16

@Cruz86 yes it was smooth to push and change units etc I just wasn't sold on the seat unit it looked a bit small like width wise 🤦 cos it has like big chunky plastic parts at the sides 🤔 maybe I'm just to fussy 🤣🤣 aww no doesn't sound good. Make sure u rest and drink plenty 🤞 xx

Scratch this.. woken up feeling like I'm getting a chest infection

Prayingformyrainbow93 · 17/06/2022 10:37

Ah it’s a fab pic @aesgriff how exciting! Im 19 weeks tomorrow, just felt baby moving for the past week and pretty sure I felt her from the outside this morning 💗 the loveliest feelings! Can’t believe I’m almost half way, time is going quicker as the weeks go by! So exciting xx

Im with you on the lists @Cruz86 @arianasky @Bridgey8 - not that I’ve ordered very much yet but you know! In terms of travel systems it does seem that there’s always a bit of a sale on somewhere. Has anybody (already mums) had a silver cross pram? I’m looking at their travel bundle which has a decent amount off at the moment, so tempted to buy it but my OH is more hesitant! Not sure when you’re actually supposed to start buying these things? Xx

sunnyd67 · 17/06/2022 12:09

Suspected case of scarlet fever amongst the children I work with. Should I be worried?

sunnyd67 · 17/06/2022 12:11

Also, currently 20 weeks - my breasts are leaking and have been for the last three-four weeks, is this normal? It's not a lot but I can see it on my bra.

speake1 · 17/06/2022 14:00

@Prayingformyrainbow93 i had the silver cross wave (2019 model) for my little one & wouldn’t recommend that particular model as the chassis barely folds & it is ridiculously heavy! We didn’t buy the silver cross car seat as it didn’t have the best safety ratings at the time so we got the maxi cosi car seat & just adapters (think they cost £20) to fit it to the silver cross chassis. We have a massive SUV and the pram + carrycot and latterly seat took up my whole boot.

That being said I think there are other models of silver cross now that fold up more compact & are lighter weight so it would really depend on the model. I’d recommend looking on ‘which’ for car seat safety ratings too as some of the car seats included in the travel systems bundles don’t seem that great but you can still have a travel system by getting a different car seat & adapters for your chosen pram.

Sorry for the length of message, hope that makes sense 😊 xxx

speake1 · 17/06/2022 14:02

@Prayingformyrainbow93 Oh also if you have anywhere near you that you can go in & see the prams, demo how to fold/unfold etc I would definitely recommend doing that. You obviously don’t have to buy from that shop if you find it cheaper online but definitely good seeing / using before you buy 😊

Tofu35 · 18/06/2022 13:19

I'm 15 weeks today :) feeling a bit more like myself (if we ignore the random bouts of retching and hormonal weeping). I have a scan this week on Tues to see if they can get an accurate measurement of the baby seeing as it wasn't wanting to cooperate at the 12 week scan!

Cruz86 · 19/06/2022 09:14

Ah yeah I see what you mean about the sides @Skl2021! It's so hard picking one that you like, that's functional for your needs and looks how you want it to as well 😂

@Sassy144 sorry you're not feeling great. I've woken up today with barely any voice left, a dry cough and I think a potential chest infection on its way. Have you spoken to your midwife?

From what I've read about scarlet fever @sunnyd67, it's not necessarily something you need to worry about. And re leaking, it's very normal and just means your body is getting ready for everything!

Good luck with your scan on Tuesday @Tofu35 and glad you're starting to feel more normal ☺️

Xx

@Cruz86 oh no I'm sorry you're not feeling well either 😞 I felt really chesty on Friday and with asthma I get chest infections a lot so I called the GP who prescribed antibiotics should I end up needing them. It's just turned out to be a bad cold though I think, the worst part is I have the sorest throat, can hardly talk or swallow and not sleeping well at all. Annoying that we can only really take paracetamol too!

Amphibian94 · 19/06/2022 10:24

Anyone had a pregnancy massage before? My hips and back are killing and I'm on holiday and the spa offers a massage for mums to be . I assume it's safe after 1st trimester? I'm 16 weeks (furthest we've ever got) but naturally question everythingggggg after all the MC'S

Cruz86 · 19/06/2022 13:16

Oh that must be so horrible with asthma too @Sassy144, I can imagine it exacerbates your symptoms! I hope you start to feel better soon. I called the midwife team this morning because, since feeling under the weather, I hadn't felt baby move much at all and nothing since last night! But she came out and reassured me that everything was okay, heartbeat sounding good etc. Told me baby is breech at the mo! But I know plenty of time to move ☺️

@Amphibian94 I had a pregnancy massage with my first and it was absolute bliss!! I'm going to book in for one soon actually. Enjoy!

@Cruz86 oh that's really good that she came out and that all is fine with baby, that must put your mind at rest. I hope you aren't feeling too poorly.

Sassy144 · 20/06/2022 07:41

@Cruz86 so...turns out I have covid 😭

Cruz86 · 20/06/2022 07:48

Noooo @Sassy144!! Had you done tests already? I've done 2 and both were negative. How are you feeling?
