Does anyone find that their baby just does not stop moving?! I'm 19+5 and literally feel him kicking and wriggling every hour of the day! Not complaining, but just can't remember this much movement with my first x

Thanks ladies

Yes will have to have a c section and then if the placenta attaches to the scar I have to have a hysterectomy and lots of other risk factors

moomoose · 15/06/2022 16:29

That sounds scary @flowergarden16, must be really worrying. Still an 80% chance (at least) that it won't happen though?

Skl2021 · 15/06/2022 16:32

@Cruz86 yes that's a more acceptable price! I knew I shouldn't have looked at the expensive ones 🤦 just can't find something cheaper that I like. Sounds like u have a really active baby! Mine is quite lazy mainly only moves at night! Maybe odd movement through the day but definitely not every hour xx

Skl2021 · 15/06/2022 16:34

@Cruz86 but I could be wrong as I don't feel as much due to placenta and the kicks are felt either really low down or right at the sides. So he's probably using the placenta as punching bag and I can't feel it🤣🙊 x

Arwen7 · 15/06/2022 16:35

@flowergarden16 so sorry you are feeling like this. If it helps, in 5 years as a midwife I haven't seen one placenta accreta - very very rare, I am surprised they have given you that %
I do however see plenty of placenta praevias around 20 weeks but there is a good chance of it moving up away from the cervix as the pregnancy progresses, most of them do, fingers crossed 🤞🏼 have you got a follow up scan to check if it's moved? If it doesn't we still see a fair bit of praevias which puts you at more risk of bleeding during pregnancy (usually nothing serious however frightening), and it needs to be a c-section with more risk of heavy bleeding - but again hysterectomy and maternal death being a very very very rare occurrence - again only seen one case of hysterectomy unrelated to praevia and luckily never seen a death but of course due to the seriousness they need to tell you all possible scenarios.
Make sure you take it easy, no exercise or intercourse and it's so worrying but I am glad everything else is ok! X

flowergarden16 · 15/06/2022 16:37

@Arwen7 thank you so so much for that message: the doctor was so stern and really scared me so I really appreciate you taking the time to reassure me xx

Arwen7 · 15/06/2022 16:52

@flowergarden16 no worries I hope your placenta moves up and remember accreta is super rare, only between 1 in 300 and 1 in 2000 risk after one prev section according to RCOG. Of course the Doctor needs to inform you about all the possibilities but no need to scare you Xx

arianasky · 15/06/2022 16:53

@Cruz86 I'm the same although on my notes app not a spreadsheet, when I have a plan in my head I have to get it done so I feel like I need to get everything as soon as I can 😂 oh wow amazing how active your little one is 💕

barneymcgroo · 15/06/2022 17:50

@flowergarden16 That must have been scary today. As @Arwen7 said (and can I once again lead the cheers for having a midwife on the thread...) I'm sure they have to let you know all the risks. I remember having my section, and all the things they tell you can go wrong - terrifying!

Will be keeping fingers crossed, and hoping for the best for your next scan.

barneymcgroo · 15/06/2022 17:56

I've only had two years between babies, and my brother and his wife had one in between. So all my stuff is coming back to me steadily! Pram is still good, just need to sort a car seat. Keep thinking I've managed to work out how to fit three in the back, still can't quite figure it out, and I DON'T want to buy a new car!

I bought a second hand pram on Facebook marketplace for number 2 - it's been brilliant. Fits 2 in, cost me £40. Love a bargain...

Still got a spreadsheet for all the little things - nipple cream, that sort of thing. But after two boys, if this one turns out to be a girl, I'm afraid she's got quite a selection of neutral and boy babygros to get through! I did reusable nappies with both my boys, so should still be able to use those too.

flowergarden16 · 15/06/2022 18:26

Thanks @Arwen7 and @barneymcgroo just had a follow up call from my consultant who was less dramatic and said chances are all will be fine or probably just regular précis rather than acreta. Will cross fingers!

I am planning on get lots of bits on
FB too, don't want to splash out on another expensive pram!

speake1 · 15/06/2022 18:37

@flowergarden16 im so sorry that you got such scary news at your scan today, can imagine you’re in shock. Sending you hand holds & cuddles! As the other ladies have said you’ll be monitored so closely & the odds are still far more in your favour so try try try not to think of the worst case scenario (although I know that’s easier said than done). Thinking of you 🤍🤍

flowergarden16 · 15/06/2022 18:39

@speake1 just feels like one thing after another doesn't it! Miscarriage bleeding anxiety and now this! But trying to keep the faith I just want baby to be ok and arrive safely xx

barneymcgroo · 15/06/2022 18:40

Oh that's good - and good of them to do it today, so you don't have too much of a sleepless night.

It's awful being told something isn't going so smoothly in your pregnancy. I remember being told I had to have a section as DS1 was breech (I know, not quite in the same league) and it floored me for weeks. Was fine the moment he was in my arms though, and I kept having to remind myself that modern medicine is a marvel, and they can tell so much early on from these scans.

sunnyd67 · 15/06/2022 20:46

@Cruz86 my baby has also been really active today, I usually feel him/her in the evenings when lying bed, but today !! Most part of the day, even when sitting down which unusual, but I'm not complaining, lovely kicks 🥰 getting stronger by day

sunnyd67 · 15/06/2022 20:52

Whooping cough vaccine
What are the side effects? Fever?

Bridgey8 · 15/06/2022 21:50

@sunnyd67 had mine today. Slightly sore arm - that's it's so far!

siobhanmt247 · 16/06/2022 08:23

Morning all. I have some cramp questions again. I know they're normal but mine always seems slightly different to what the apps say to expect. I'm 14 weeks and last night had lots of painful stabbing pains in the center of my pelvis. Everything else says round ligament pains would be higher or to the side. Has anyone else has similar?

arianasky · 16/06/2022 10:59

@siobhanmt247 I've had cramps from about then but I wouldn't say painful I'd say like a tightening period kind of feeling and all was fine at my scan on Sunday and I'm 17+2 today 💕

siobhanmt247 · 16/06/2022 11:22

@arianasky thank you. In wondering if it's spd. I called my midwife and she didn't sound worried as it was only for a short period. Might lay off the spin classes for a bit!

flowergarden16 · 16/06/2022 12:11

@siobhanmt247 I think I've had similar but always best to check with midwife if you're worrie?

@barneymcgroo it's such a roller coaster!

Have an early (18 weeks) private anomaly scan next week. So scared something will be wrong 😑

sunnyd67 · 16/06/2022 15:58

Just got back from our 20 weeks scan, all looked great. My partner decided he wants to know what we are having, 'looks like a baby boy' 😃

During private scans I have always measured ahead at least 4/5 days. They gave me the print out today for my notes and they have dated me as 19w5d, and now I'm worrying. On the screen I could see 20w4d when they measuring the head, I'm not sure why they wrote 19w5d. I'm 20 weeks exactly today. Last private scan I had was at 17w2d and measured 18w, so I don't know what's happening.
They also measured the femur length, which measured 21w, 35.5mm, which seemed to be the highest measurement. Any ideas? I am going to have to book another private scan, because this worry is not going to go away...

sunnyd67 · 16/06/2022 16:10

Ignore my last post regards to measurements - I panicked and didn't look right at the notes. Measuring 19w5d by my last period not IVF dates, so all fine.. 🙄😃💙

speake1 · 16/06/2022 18:31

Congratulations @sunnyd67, can’t believe that’s another little boy!! 💙 xx
