@sunnyd67 haha I'm the same I feel like I will jinx something if I buy things 🤦 I have bought a pack of vests and a pack of baby grows upto now 🙈 but like you I hardly look at baby stuff. Hoping everything falls into place and I will have everything in time when it feels right for me. Is your scan tomorrow? I'm sure u will be able to wait for that ♥️ xx

speake1 · 15/06/2022 11:02

@Skl2021 @sunnyd67 I’m the same as you, so far I have bought one sleepsuit & it was only because I was buying a baby gift for a friend and wanted to make up the cost for free postage 🙈 Very aware that I need to start now that we’re approaching 22 weeks, pretty sure I had everything for my daughter & the nursery done by this stage, poor second baby! 🙈 xxx

@Cruz86 which pram did you go for in the end? xxx

@aesgriff gorgeous picture of your little girlie, hope you’re keeping ok xxx

Bridgey8 · 15/06/2022 11:52

I have still not bought a bean and I'm 25 weeks on Friday. Have my midwife appointment now and I'm just as anxious as for a scan 😬

Annny27 · 15/06/2022 12:06

@speake1 @Skl2021 @Bridgey8 same same same! 21 weeks and only bought one novelty babygrow for my other half for fathers day haha!!

I am melting in the heat (south east...) how's everyone else coping?

Cruz86 · 15/06/2022 12:08

Omg maybe I'm an eager beaver then 🙊 I just know if I don't buy stuff now, I'll end up spending the money on something else -- like a holiday 😆

Oh sorry you're feeling so tired again @Skl2021 😩 I don't feel too bad at the moment actually so trying to make the most of my renewed energy! You have still got plenty of time to get things organised ☺️

Good luck with your scan @sunnyd67! I've got mine next Friday at 21 weeks.

@speake1 I decided to go with the Ickle Bubba Eclipse because it has a built in buggy board which will be great for my 5 year old! The hood comes down quite far as well which is another of my top requirements. Have you decided what you're going for?

Hope your midwife appointment goes well @Bridgey8! I've completely forgotten what all of the appointments are for and at what stage 😂

Xx

Also in the south east @Annny27 and I've got all my windows/doors open whilst hibernating inside!

@Cruz86 that looks lovely, great having a built in buggy board too! Honestly I have no idea, we have the joolz aer buggy for my daughter at the moment so I was tempted to just buy the carrycot & buggy board for it but having second thoughts & husband thinks it would be good for a summer baby but maybe not winter due to being so lightweight / compact.

@Annny27 im north east Scotland & slightly jealous of you melting down south. It’s still cold / rainy here 😭 albeit it feeling it more after being in the sunny climes of southern Spain last week!

@Bridgey8 hope your midwife appt goes well today! 🤞🏼

aesgriff · 15/06/2022 12:43

@Skl2021 thank you! I was worried as you know what our babies are like.. naughty and don’t behave when it comes to scans! How are you doing? Xx

@Cruz86 thank you!! I’m doing well, thought I’d feel less anxious and I do but now I’ve found other things to worry about 🤣 it’s never ending. How are you? Xx

aesgriff · 15/06/2022 13:13

@speake1 thank you! How are you doing? Can’t believe how far we’ve come xx

@Cruz86 don’t worry I’ve been going mad with buying! I can’t help myself xx

Skl2021 · 15/06/2022 13:18

@speake1 yes I just felt like I should buy something 🙈🤣 I was so much more prepared with my others! Think I started buying things straight away! X
@Bridgey8 good luck with the midwife 💕 x
@Annny27 also in the house hiding as I'm to hot already and can't stand the heat 🤣 xx
@Cruz86 the price of travel systems are ridiculous 😣 seen 2 I like and there £1500 like what the hell 🙈 why is everything is so expensive. Xx
@aesgriff oh definitely my baby seems to hate scans and I'm having regular scans from 30 weeks 🤣 he will not play ball I just know it 🙊 I'm doing ok! Don't like this weather 🙈 and I'm starting to get tired alot again 🤦 how are you xx

Bridgey8 · 15/06/2022 13:19

Thanks for all well wishes. Bump measuring bang on and everything else fine 💕💕 now to to get to 28 weeks.... xx

moomoose · 15/06/2022 13:22

Cruz86 · 14/06/2022 09:13

@moomoose yes I had very funny coloured discharge from about 6-13 weeks - sometimes it was luminous green! I'd probably contact your gp so they can swab you to check for infection but don't panic, mine all came back okay! Seems it can be a normal thing to happen x

Ah thank you @Skl2021! It was so lovely and I want to book another holiday already 😂 Sometimes the braxton hicks actually really worry me, I can really feel it and I didn't have that with my son. Especially not this early! Aww I'm sure you don't look frumpy! How amazing that you're 24 weeks 🥰

@sunnyd67 I finished around 37 weeks with my son but, if you can, I'd try and push it back to at least 38 weeks. Having more time off with baby the other side is more important to me, but it all depends on how you're coping, how much organising you have to do before baby is here etc!

Xx

Thanks @Cruz86, I went to the epau for a scan today after the suggested I go in, and everything was great. They checked the basic structures and everything looks 👌so just need to double-check at my dating scan in a few days and then wait for the screening results next week. I don't think the anxiety is ever going to go away, but the scan today feels like a major milestone. Phew!

Sassy144 · 15/06/2022 13:45

Just catching up after a bit of a break from Mumsnet, so lovely to see everyone's updates ❤️ I'm currently 10+3 and time feels like it's at a standstill waiting for my 12 week scan to come along 🤞

speake1 · 15/06/2022 14:09

@aesgriff im good thank you, can’t believe how close we are to the 24 week viability milestone too 🙏🏼🤞🏼 Xxx

arianasky · 15/06/2022 14:40

@speake1 @Skl2021 @Bridgey8 @anny27 is it bad I've already started buying!? I wanted to spread the cost I've only bought like 8 baby grows and a nappy bag that was lovely 😂 and I got a steriliser as it was half price and baby gym for the same reason 🙈 I know it's not much but I can't resist if I see a good offer 🙈

@Cruz86 I think I may be an eager beaver too 😂 but I'm the same If I don't start now and start spreading the cost I'll spend it on mini breaks away and stuff for me and DP 🙈

Also hiding inside from the heat, luckily my house is nice and cool but that's not great in winter obviously which makes me worry that baby will be born in November and it'll be cold.

Skl2021 · 15/06/2022 15:12

@arianasky no definitely not! If you have found things u like then definitely get them! Also good to start earlier so u can spread the cost or get things in sales! I'm just more layed back as it's my third and I know what I actually need now instead of buying everything! X

Bridgey8 · 15/06/2022 15:14

@arianasky I don't even know where to start!!!

flowergarden16 · 15/06/2022 15:29

Hi everyone. Just came back from a horrible scan.

Baby all fine thank god but I have placenta previa and because of my previous c section it puts me at risk of placenta accreta where the placenta embeds in to the scar. Sounds utterly terrifying and it can be a very serious condition.

I'm devastated and have to wait until 32 weeks to find out if it's happened. So scared. Has anyone else experienced this?
It involved a possible hyeterecomy at the c section plus a quite scary risk of maternal death :-(

arianasky · 15/06/2022 15:36

@Skl2021 oh good I started worrying I was getting a bit ahead of myself then 🙈

@Bridgey8 I know what you mean everything is so overwhelming knowing what you actually need and deciding which one is best when there's hundreds of different types it is stressful I think.

arianasky · 15/06/2022 15:37

@flowergarden16 oh no I'm so so sorry that sounds really scary! I can't say I've heard of it myself tbh. I'm praying for you that it doesn't happen 🙏🏻🌈

flowergarden16 · 15/06/2022 15:39

Thanks @arianasky I think my risk is something like 10-20%. Terrified.

X

sunnyd67 · 15/06/2022 15:45

@flowergarden16 I am sorry your scan didn't go as planned. I hope that will not be the case for you, stay strong.

Skl2021 · 15/06/2022 15:51

@flowergarden16 hope your ok 💕 xx

Bridgey8 · 15/06/2022 16:14

@flowergarden16 stay strong lovely. I'm sure they will monitor you really closely and the odds are still stacked towards everything being ok xxxx

Cruz86 · 15/06/2022 16:23

That's what I thought @speake1! I really don't want to spend loads on a travel system but I think this one is a happy medium with everything we need. Ooh I like the look of that buggy! And handy that you can buy a carrycot too. How often will you use it with baby? If it's got a carrycot and you have a rain cover, it doesn't look like it couldn't withstand the wintry showers!

Glad you're good @aesgriff! What are you feeling anxious about at the moment? And what have you bought so far? Im doing well thanks! Feeling much better and actually enjoying being pregnant at the moment.

@Skl2021 honestly, the price is ridiculous isn't it! Mine was only £500 so definitely not one of the top ones you can get. I begrudge spending more than this 😂

Aww glad everything went well @Bridgey8!

Ah amazing @mustbuybiscuits 🥰 the anxiety always lingers, it does lessen for some but there will always be something. Now you can relax a little for your dating scan!

Hang on in there @Sassy144, it ends up flying by ❤️

Haha exactly @arianasky!! I've got a spreadsheet with all of the things I've bought and still need to buy, got to be organised 😂

Oh I'm so sorry @flowergarden16 😞 I really don't know too much about it but it sounds really scary. Does this mean you'll be having a c section for this baby too? Thinking of you ❤️

Xx
