I know this is very early but I wanted to start a thread for those with a January 2023 due date.

I got my BFP 2 days ago and am about 4 weeks pregnant today. I already have a little boy born in November 2020 and I’m super excited for him to get a sibling but I know it’s early days and have had 2 early miscarriages in the past so slightly nervous too!

Thanks all. Thinking about it my first pregnancy test the day after my period would have been due was very faint (more like what I’ve seen some people posting at 8-10 dpo), and I got a tiny bit of spotting a couple of days before that, which might have been implantation.
i can’t really afford another early scan to check on progression so I’ll try to remain neutral until the 12 week scan. Seems like ages away!

I'm probably going crazy but I am 100% certain I just felt the baby kick. I had my hands on the same spot (on my tummy) for a few minutes and I felt a few kicks, very unmistaken.

It's too early isn't it for a January due date or has that happened with anyone else?

Way too early I'm afraid! It is most likely just gas.

For context:

My due date is 11th January and at my 6 week ultrasound last week the embryo measured 4.6mm. It's probably about 10mm now.

In my last pregnancy I started feeling him move at 18 weeks when he was about 14cm long. At all my ultrasounds before that - I had a lot - he was bouncing around all over the place and I couldn't feel a thing. 18 weeks is even a little on the early side to feel consistent movement, but I had a posterior placenta.

Even if your due date is 1st January you are only about 8 weeks along meaning that your baby is about 17mm long and floating in a little balloon of liquid.

@Mummamanff always best to call your epu if you have any bleeding, they can give you advice and may get you in for a scan to check everything's ok. Hopefully everything fine 🤞

I actually started having some brown discharge with stringy bits yesterday (tmi sorry) which then turned into some bleeding. It's not been very heavy and I've not had cramps but I've got a really bad feeling. Epu have asked me to come in for a scan this morning so at least I'll find out what's going on. I'm terrified though

brogan12 · 23/05/2022 09:07

@Cb31 I really do hope everything is okay for you today! I'll be thinking of you! Xx

Hana89 · 23/05/2022 10:03

Good luck @Cb31 we'll be thinking of you 🍀💜

I'm afraid way to earlier, as its only about half an inch in length at the moment :)

@brogan12 @Hana89 @mrsgtobe97 thanks! Everything is still ok! Baby had grown since I had private scan last week and saw the heartbeat flickering away again. Im really relieved but I feel so drained as well. Waiting to get back to my car so I can have a good cry xxx

brogan12 · 23/05/2022 10:38

@Cb31 that's amazing news! I'm so relieved for you! 💖

winsones · 23/05/2022 10:42

Hi all,

After a late period (no like me) I tested last Wednesday and got my BFP! 😮Full of excitement and anxiety here...

We have a six year old and had two miscarriages three years ago. One at 6 weeks and 10 weeks.

We have just carried on as normal and if it happened it happened.

It happened and I obviously have a lot of memories and what ifs flying around my head right now 😔

Just taking each day as it comes and we are 6w2d and due on 14th January (first was two weeks late and induced) so thinking end of Jan 🙃

All positive signed here... feeling nauseous, tired, restless at night, constantly peeing and more boobs have exploded and absolutely kill lol

anyone here on progesterone? I'm thinking of getting a private prescription since I can't get it on NHS unless I bleed and have had 1 mc. Have had 1 mc but am not bleeding this time. At 42 I don't want to take any chances as this may be my only shot. Some countries offer it not problem so I feel I may as well.

babyjellyfish · 23/05/2022 14:11

@Ronnyrambler Yes, I'm on it due to previous recurrent losses. I'm not sure how much difference it makes but it's not harmful. I had one MMC and two CPs on progesterone and then a successful pregnancy.

Do you have any particular reason to think you need progesterone supplementation?

Ronnyrambler · 23/05/2022 14:16

Hi @babyjellyfish , congratulations on your successful pregnancy! Apart from 1 mc and being 42 I've no particular reasons - I just don't have time to wait and see at my age so am thinking of taking it to at least cover that base. Of course, if chromosomal abnormalities are there then it wouldn't make a difference.

Hey! I have some just in case I start spotting following a mc and several cps. I was prescribed it privately as I was seeing someone for fertility tests when I got pregnant and he was really clear that although there's tons of evidence to say that if you do start spotting it's very effective at lessening the chances of a mc. He didn't advise me to take it unless I do start spotting though.

You could book a private app I'm sure they would prescribe? I actually called my gp after his advice because the prescription was £60 and they were happy to prescribe.

Best of luck x

fancyfrogs · 23/05/2022 14:23

Urgh my GP do things so awkwardly. Off work today so thought might as well sort midwife referral out - in my area you can't self refer and has to be done by GP. Rang them to check what I needed to do and receptionist asked me if they had confirmed the pregnancy. I said I've had multiple at home and she said they still need a test done there so they can confirm it. Fine. So said can I call I today and leave a sample? No, it 'must' be FMU as that's their policy. Bloody awkward and won't have chance to do that for another week now because of work. Don't see what difference it would make now anyway or how they'd even know, when my tests are strong at any time of day! But she was having none of it so dragging a snotty, grumpy toddler along to pick up a sample bottle 🙄

Yes, to put it bluntly, the thing most likely to cause an early miscarriage would be chromosomal abnormalities, and progesterone wouldn't help with that.

Were you tracking your ovulation before you conceived?

I'm 43 so I hear you big time about last chance saloon vibes. Also had a MMC recently. I don't know about the progesterone. Do they prescribe it to you when you're pregnant? I've only heard of baby aspirin.

alvaryder · 23/05/2022 14:52

I just did another date test today after resisting for 3 days and it's moved from 1-2 weeks to 2-3 weeks so here's hoping everything is moving in the right direction. That's the last test I'm going to do or I'll drive myself mad.

Hana89 · 23/05/2022 15:09

What are all the reformed caffeine addicts doing to stave off headaches and brain fog? The thought of coffee makes me 🤢 but I've lived on 3 - 4 cups a day since I was 16! That's half a lifetime! I know a lot of the fatigue is hormone related but I swear I'm a bit dim at the moment! How are you all coping? X

Sassy144 · 23/05/2022 16:21

@Hana89 I have decaf which helps with a kind of placebo effect in the morning for me, but I'm obviously still exhausted 🙈 sugar or some dark chocolate when I need a boost.

41andtryingforfirst · 23/05/2022 16:48

@fancyfrogs my GP/midwife didn't do any pregnancy tests (blood or urine) - I asked if they were going to and they said no they just take your word for it x

brogan12 · 23/05/2022 16:57

Eeeek got an appointment through for EPU on Friday at 2:30 for a scan! Going off my Flo app dates I'll be 7w 3d however I think I am a week behind that at 6 w 3d! Will I even be able to see anything? Never had a scan that early before!
