I know this is very early but I wanted to start a thread for those with a January 2023 due date.

I got my BFP 2 days ago and am about 4 weeks pregnant today. I already have a little boy born in November 2020 and I’m super excited for him to get a sibling but I know it’s early days and have had 2 early miscarriages in the past so slightly nervous too!

@Moosh18 I hope everything will be ok xx
I had an early scan with my last baby and they saw a bruise and said I was likely to bleed , so maybe it's something like that? Also spotting can be normal xx

SweetPeaPods · 09/05/2022 09:20

Hi everyone
tentatively joining, Bfp means dc3 due 17th Jan. ds1 is 9 and ds2 is 7 so bit of an age gap. Obsessively checking pants for blood every time I go for a wee atm.
plan for this week is to find out how I get referred to local midwife. We moved house since last pregnancy. Bearing in mind half of the local village GP practice staff are school mums it’s going to be fun trying to keep this quiet!

Moosh18 · 09/05/2022 09:35

@MimiBeee thank you, I'd say it was more spotting as wasn't and hasn't been on underwear only when o wipe, none today apart from brown ish this morn, no cramps either so praying 🙏🏻

Kelbelz17 · 09/05/2022 12:34

Does anyone know why there's different due dates on different websites and different 'how far gone are you' I don't know which is more accurate and wethwr to calculate from LMP or conception date, it's so confusing. I know my conception date but should I be counting from LMP? Different websites say different things and also, as I'm new to this, I dont even know how long I carry the baby for haha, someone help me, is 38 weeks, 39 or 40 🤣

Kelbelz17 · 09/05/2022 12:41

Can someone help me work out how far along I am please and my due date, the NHS one doesn't seem accurate for me, my LMP was 30/03 buy I had a positive ovulation result on the 12th and 13th April, my cycle is around 25 days long

MimiBeee · 09/05/2022 12:44

@Kelbelz17 the midwife / doctor will go by your last period but usually at the 12 week scan your due date will change slightly . Pregnancy is 40 weeks although you are classed as full term at 37 weeks and can go up to 42 weeks :)

Kelbelz17 · 09/05/2022 13:22

Thank you, it's all so confusing haha, tha k goodness for this group 😅

@Swale If I join the group, will people on facebook know I have joined it? Will they be able to see it in my profile? I haven't told anyone other than my partner yet so it's really important that nobody sees I'm in any pregnancy groups yet! If there's a risk they will, I'll wait until I've told my family in June. Thanks!

Somatronic · 09/05/2022 14:14

@Swale thanks for that. The link doesn't bring me to the group - does it have a name I can search?

XrayFish · 09/05/2022 14:38

@Kelbelz17 you ovulated on cd14 so you need to tell the nhs one you have a 28 day cycle. I make you 5+5.

You calculate from lmp, but it's more accurate to calculate lmp from ovulation - 14d than it is to use when it actually happens.

You're pregnant for 40wk but on average spontaneous labour is 5days late (first baby) or 3days late (subsequent).

Swale · 09/05/2022 14:44

@plantflowersforbees None of your friends will be able to see you’ve joined the group and they won’t be able to see any posts. 😊

@Somatronic The privacy settings make it unsearchable. I’ll PM you.

I've been re-reading the comments on the clear blue dating pregnancy tests and I wanted to ask a quick question about it please. The first day of my last period was 1.4.22, and I got my BPF on 5.5.22. The NHS due date calculator says I'm five weeks pregnant and due jan 6th, but the clear blue test I took today (9.5.22) says 2-3 weeks - I was expecting it to say 3+. I don't know when I ovulated as I didn't take ovulation tests. This is my first pregnancy so everything is very new to me and I'm confused about what I'm seeing when I google it.

Should I be concerned? I'm worried it means my hormone levels are low. I don't have a midwife appt until 6.6.22 and a month feels like such a long time to wait to find out more information!

XrayFish · 09/05/2022 16:00

@plantflowersforbees the clear blue counts from ovulation, nhs (and most other places) count from lmp. So clear blue should be 2weeks behind the nhs calculator, which it more or less is because neither are going to be perfect. I wouldn't worry just yet.

Love this! 💜

XrayFish · 09/05/2022 17:28

@HannahSpanna it changes based on today's date when you get closer too, I have a bad habit of checking it daily towards the end despite knowing it doesn't actually change anything

Somatronic · 10/05/2022 08:36

Just a quick question, I'm only 5weeks5days in, but since becoming pregnant I've had pains in my lower tummy when I turn over in bed and sometimes a very sharp pain when I stand up quickly.

I had IVF with fresh transfer so had a lot going on with my ovaries/uterus in the weeks before my BFP so it may be that? Or maybe it's normal for very early pregnancy? It's my first time so I don't know but I feel like I'm doing damage when it happens!

Any ideas?

SweetPeaPods · 10/05/2022 09:30

@Somatronic sorry can't help. Is it worth calling the clinic for advice?

Somatronic · 10/05/2022 09:33

@SweetPeaPods I don't think they would be able to do anything. I'll just wait for my scan which is over 2 weeks away.

hopingfor23 · 10/05/2022 09:35

@Somatronic I also have this on and off and have been told it's due to things stretching. I think as long as it's not too painful it's ok? X
