@DogsAndGin thank you so much for the reassurance. Between something sad in my personal life, spotting again this week and my inconclusive NIPT, my anxiety is through the roof. Fingers crossed for happy outcomes for all of us. It's great to see the numbers broken down like that, I feel like I can breathe a bit again. You're a star 🌟

PinkFizz1 · 18/05/2022 17:07

@DogsAndGin Thank you so much for posting that. I know the posters saying MCs are more common in first pregnancies mean well, but it really does not help with other peoples anxiety (including myself). It’s been worrying me all day actually.
So thank you for your post. ❤️

bbno2 · 18/05/2022 18:04

I'm so sorry if I sent anyone into a panic today - that wasn't my intention at all! 🤐

Don’t worry @bbno2 I’m sorry if I came across as ‘telling you off’. I think your reassurance to those who have sadly miscarried was really lovely, and I truly hope they go on to have a healthy second pregnancy ❤️ I love this group!

Just dropping the Miscarriage Odds Reassurer into the chat in case anyone would like to take a peek: datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer . I've been looking at it roughly once a day. 😩

KokoNights · 18/05/2022 18:23

@tasha4eva10 @Chanel05 @hopefulsunshine11 - I'm the same! My evenings consist of just about managing to feed and shower myself, then collapsing (ignoring all the chores and the prospect of exercise / a social life!) Hope you ladies feel slightly better soon!

On another note (and I am sorry if my anxiety is contagious), but I am thinking ahead to the 12 week scans and genetic tests. I am quite concerned that the NHS tests are apparently not super accurate. If I had spare money, I would have gone down the NIPT road. However, if my NHS result is high risk, can I still get a NIPT? Would there be enough time to schedule it and get the results turned around quickly?Amnio and CVS aren't something I'd want to do due to the risk of miscarriage..... Grateful for any insights on this, as it's my first time going through this!

DogsAndGin · 18/05/2022 19:18

@Melusina123 that’s fab thank you!

RSmamaa · 18/05/2022 19:29

@tasha4eva10 my tiredness got worse from 8 weeks. I think it's the placenta forming 😴🥱

AG96 · 18/05/2022 20:07

Had my dating scan today at 11+2. Thankfully was big enough to do the NT measurement!
Having to have a GTT next week which I'm not looking forward to. But all looked well with baby.
Did the miscarriage odds reassurance and got 97.7% chance of not miscarrying. Fingers crossed.
So sad seeing these losses and my heart goes out to you 💐

MariaDingbat · 18/05/2022 20:57

@quinnbaby I'm so sorry to for your loss. I hope you're doing as well as you can today. My first pregnancy ended in a MMC that was found at 9 weeks but I now have a beautiful 18 month old daughter sleeping soundly next to me.

The surgery felt scary (I'd never been in hospital or had a general before) but the actual procedure was fine. I had no pain after, just tiredness, and it felt like a definite ending, which I think helped me come to terms with it. The month after my due date, I fell pregnant with daughter. With hindsight it feels as if my body wanted to keep the 9 months that my first baby should have been there for before moving on. Feel free to reach out and Mumsnet is a good place to feel not so alone.

hopefulsunshine11 · 18/05/2022 22:06

Hi ladies, I'm going to be sick with worry!

Earlier on about an hour ago I jumped up too quick and felt like I had pulled something and also my stomach is sore and a pain in my side, it's like a cramp pain across my stomach. I tried to not let it bother me but I've just went to the toilet and when I wiped there was a tiny bit pink blood. Do you think I've harmed the baby? I'm 11 weeks! Could this just be a bit of irritation from jumping and something moving? I'm terrified.

tasha4eva10 · 18/05/2022 22:09

It could have been round ligament pain, I'm really struggling with that atm I doubt getting up too quickly would harm the baby but just keep an eye on the amount of blood xx

hopefulsunshine11 · 18/05/2022 22:20

I've never had any bleeding at all throughout the 11 weeks, I can't believe I done it! I jumped up watching a football game what an idiot.... and knew right away I shouldn't have. I might phone EPU in the morning if I have more spotting. Only 6 days away from my scan too 😪

Bluebonnet3 · 18/05/2022 23:15

Hi all, I've only posted on this thread once so far. Yesterday I had my second early scan, at 8 weeks + 6 days. Dr said everything is looking ok and that I shouldn't be concerned about measuring 1 day behind schedule. (IVF pregnancy, so the dates are known.) I was a bit nervous as last time at this stage was when I found out about the mmc. That was last Nov.

Anyway, trying to be cautiously optimistic, but still a little apprehensive about thinking too far ahead. Clinic said the next thing to consider is the harmony test.

And that I need to pick a hospital and register with the midwives. Should I just go with closest proximity or how did you choose which hospital? My husband and his dad were both born at the hospital closest to us!

GabsK92 · 19/05/2022 04:25

Hi lovelies

firstly just want to say I’m so sorry to those that have had bad news. I’ve been there and know there’s nothing you can say that eases the pain but wishing you best of love and luck in your future baby journeys 🌈

After a MMC in dec I’m now 12 weeks today (due 1st) and have had gone through approximately all worries/anxieties echoed in this group. Someone asked about symptoms subduing “early” (wk 9ish), mine did too and I’ve had 3 ultrasounds now all looking really good. I think it’s completely individual so try not to worry and instead enjoy the revived energy/lack of nausea etc. though my nausea sometimes creeps up at random times so not entirely out of the woods.

I’ve also had the ligament pains. Sometimes so bad I’ve doubled over - particularly when standing up after being seated or leaning forward. Again, things were fine.

Ive had both two UTIs (latest treatment of which was an injection to the bottom which I’d rather not do again) and a yeast infection and while not fun, were treatable and fine.

I’ve found “what to expect when you’re expecting” to be helpful for looking some things up and I know some ladies recommended “expecting better”. If you have GAD like me just want some reassurance I’ve found it’s been really helpful to look things up xxxxx

Loudandclear · 19/05/2022 08:17

Wishing you all the best for today @quinnbaby . Will be thinking of you and your twin babies x

stuntbubbles · 19/05/2022 08:27

@Bluebonnet3 I’d ask around about labour and maternity ward experiences at both hospitals, C-section rates, do the video tour of each one, find out if they have the option of paying for a private room instead of being on the ward, and get a vibe for each. But proximity is a big plus when you’re transferring in labour! I remember taxiing in with DP who said “Please go slow, she’s in labour.” Me, through gritted teeth: “PUT YOUR FOOT DOWN.” When you’re ready to go and get some sweet sweet drugs in you, proximity is key!

Mommabear20 · 19/05/2022 09:11

Has anyone ever heard of people getting a hysterectomy during a csection in England? I'm seriously considering asking my midwife for it!

OP posts:
lifechanginglemoncake · 19/05/2022 09:19

Hi @Mommabear20 - I have an acquaintance where this happened but it was very much a medical necessity (5th c-section, incredibly dangerous should labour occur, had to be an elective with a specific team in London even though they're not local, and serious risk of maternal death if they got pregnant again)

I've heard of tubes tied with a c-section more commonly. My suspicion is that the recovery hormonally from a hysterectomy if it's not a life saving necessity would be challenging immediately post-partum but that is a complete non-expert guess just based on seeing hysterectomy recovery in relatives.

MrsCrumbtious · 19/05/2022 10:26

So incredibly sorry for your loss @quinnbaby hope you take time to process everything that’s happened. Your rainbow baby will happen one day soon ❤️ 💐

@DogsAndGin those statistics are definitely a comfort. This is baby #2 for us and strangely I feel more anxious about this one than DD. Maybe as this is going to be our last one (all being well) and I’ve struggled to remember how I felt 4 years ago 👵🏼

im 9+3 today and felt slightly nauseous this morning after a couple of days of feeling ‘normal’ just not had any stretching pain for a while. Hopefully everything is ok and overthinking again 🙄

tasha4eva10 · 19/05/2022 12:43

Morning ladies

Just got back from the shops and omg the ligament pain is unreal today! I did wonder if I'd struggle more this pregnancy as I had cancer 2 years ago with LOTS of surgery so my body has taken a battering but really hoped it would be in later pregnancy if I was going to get SPD. We're going away to wales tomorrow too so hoping it won't be too hard work as it's my daughters 12th birthday on Saturday.

How is everyone else doing with ligament pain? X

DogsAndGin · 19/05/2022 15:42

@tasha4eva10 I too have been experiencing what I presume is ligament pain - particularly when I sneeze etc. It can be quite a sharp pain!

@hopefulsunshine11 how are you today?

Also, I finally pooped, and I’ve never been happier! But overall, I’m so exhausted today, I am really struggling to get anything done today. And of course - that feeling comes when your to-do list is as long as your arm!

Hope everyone is doing okay x

hopefulsunshine11 · 19/05/2022 16:07

@DogsAndGin I'm ok thanks but just on edge, I've touch wood not had anymore pink spotting but getting wee niggly cramps. Just got to pray for the best got 7 days to go until scan. It's going to be a long few days of worry.

Haha, it's crazy how your body changes, I bet you feel super relieved! Have you been eating a lot of fibre?

baby2in2022 · 19/05/2022 16:08

Hey hope everyone is doing ok

I thought I was started to feel better on Monday but last two nights I've felt to rough and tired, sore throat, shivery, headache. I've taken today off and just lay in bed for most of it. I had my booking in today and we have a scan on Saturday when I'll be 9w5. I'm struggling to believe there's actually anything in there. Hoping it sinks in a bit after Saturday xx
