Hi @PeoniesInJune yes this is very much a trauma safe space we are all struggling through as best we can!

I don’t know what the procedure you referenced is! But I’m sure if you’ve come this far you’ll be absolutely fine.

aesgriff · 15/04/2022 20:19

@speake I’m so happy for you!! I was thinking of you today but have a stinker of a headache and can barely look at my phone. My hearts so full for you 🥰 xx

Hope everyone’s ok xx

Ladies, any advice how to reduce bloat, gas build up, left sided pain - all digestive system related? I was told by GP few months ago that I could be suffering with mild IBS, I thought I was gluten intolerant, but that's not the case, however eating bread, pastries etc doesn't help, but currently all I can stomach is bread and doughnuts and all the things I probably shouldn't be eating to help my digestive system. I have suffered with bloat and pains for years, but now that I'm pregnant I'm worried that this could harm the baby, and sometimes it's really hard to tell if the pain is my stomach playing up or the uterus. Any advice welcome.

sunnyd67 · 15/04/2022 20:23

Forgot to mention I'm using progesterone pessaries through back passages as well, which doesn't help, but I don't want to use them vaginally due to sensitivities

speake · 15/04/2022 21:00

@aesgriff thanks lovely, hope you have a great weekend!

@sunnyd67 I have coeliac disease so can’t eat gluten, wheat etc. Honestly I would try to stick to the gluten free diet, although you aren’t fully intolerant it makes such a difference to say many inflammatory health conditions endometriosis is another. It’s crazy what does have gluten / wheat / barley in it if you really look into it, so it could be that if you follow it really strictly it will massively help. I’ve never found a good gf donught but you get so many good alternatives to bread, cereals, pancakes, biscuits etc these days that there are definitely options to support a “beige” pregnancy diet… I’ve been the same struggling to eat anything that isn’t a carb. I don’t think that is anything that should hurt your baby , more just uncomfortable for you unfortunately. I

speake · 15/04/2022 21:02

Sorry didn’t mean to post there. Not sure if ibs is the same but I have to get heparin injections from 28 weeks as inflammatory conditions put you at higher risk of a blood clot. May be worth checking out if it hasn’t been mentioned to you already 😊 Progesterone really doesn’t help, I find using a hot water bottle on my tummy really helps the pain from bloating etc too xxx

sunnyd67 · 16/04/2022 09:17

Thank you for your reply @speake
I did try alternatives before I became pregnant, and I tried gluten free bread while pregnant but for some reason it just doesn't taste good. 😢 I'll live through it as long as it doesn't harm the baby

Bridgey8 · 16/04/2022 12:25

Congrats @speake!

In Rachel from friends style... "I got on the plane". Now fingers crossed baby behaves whilst away ☀️

mrshodgy21 · 16/04/2022 12:54

@speake brill news I'm due the 25th October race ya to the finish line lol god seems so long away don't it! X

speake · 16/04/2022 17:11

Thank you ladies!

@mrshodgy21 it really does doesn’t it, I’ve tried to book in some sort of hol / weekend away / family visit every month so it’s something else to countdown too in the hope it goes quicker! 🙏🏼

@Bridgey8 good for you!! hope you have a great time xxx

barneymcgroo · 16/04/2022 18:46

Well done @Bridgey8 - hope you have a lovely time, and manage to relax a bit (easier said than done...)

Artisticpiglet3 · 16/04/2022 19:46

May I join? Had MMC week before Christmas. Currently 8 weeks 3 days. Had spotting starting Monday went for early scan Tuesday and little mean was measuring fine with heartbeat no idea where the blood was from. It had settled down this morning and I'd had no spotting all day then about an hour ago it was bright red, some in the toilet and on underwear. I know the fact I've had a good scan is positive but I can't shake the stress I'm a nervous wreck I'm literally terrified of going to the toilet in case there's more

Norberta · 16/04/2022 20:12

Hi @Artisticpiglet3 that sounds so scary you poor thing. Could you call EPU and ask for another scan? I also had a MMC last year so understand how completely nerve wracking this is. I was beside myself yesterday and this morning convinced I just didn’t feel pregnant any more. I booked a scan for tomorrow morning to reassure me although I am actually feeling pretty peaky again now… chances of you losing another after a healthy scan at 8 weeks plus is very slim but defo call the EPU and see what they say xxx

Artisticpiglet3 · 17/04/2022 08:30

@Norberta Ive still got red blood but not as bad if it was anything bad I'd expect it to be worse now since it started yesterday teatime. My epu is shut for Easter so earliest I could get in touch again would be Tuesday so just a case of wait and see.

Bridgey8 · 17/04/2022 09:20

Happy Easter everyone! 🐰 hope everyone is having a lovely weekend xx

arianasky · 17/04/2022 09:42

This might sound daft but my skin has got awful the last two days all red dry and spotty!this happened last time and I didn't realise until the scan it was because the baby had passed, I'm obviously panicking now thinking is that why my skin has flared up 🙄 has anyone else had awful skin in pregnancy? I'm 8+3 today and my last MMC was at 9 weeks so I'm definitely worried now

Skl2021 · 17/04/2022 09:55

@Bridgey8 happy Easter 🐰 hope you have a lovely time away! X

@Artisticpiglet3 welcome 💞 hope the bleeding stops and you can get seen soon. X

@arianasky my skin has been the worst it has ever been this pregnancy! It's terrible I hate it. Dry itchy bumpy red. I don't usually suffer with spots but I'm covered in them especially my face. My head is covered in like itchy red bumps under the skin and they itch like mad 😣 drives me mad. Xx

Bridgey8 · 17/04/2022 10:18

I concur with @Skl2021 @arianasky my skin is the worrrrrrst!

arianasky · 17/04/2022 10:32

@Skl2021 @Bridgey8 this has eased me a bit, sounds exactly like what I have small red itchy bumps 🙄

Skl2021 · 17/04/2022 10:33

@Bridgey8 my head is so dry and flakey no matter what I try 🤦 and there not even like spots there like itchy bumps under the skin. And then just random spots all over my face 😣 it's terrible! Can't remember having skin this had with my other pregnancies xx

Skl2021 · 17/04/2022 10:35

@arianasky mine still haven't gone hope I don't have them all the way through 🤦 drives me mad xx

Bridgey8 · 17/04/2022 10:35

Also @arianasky I have the weird flakey nips! Bloody hormones.

Ha I need to tell you all about my vivid dream. Went to my 16 week appointment... turned out my midwife was Lenny Henry 😂😂

Norberta · 17/04/2022 11:00

Can’t believe I’ve managed to have a HEALTHY SCAN!! I was so traumatised by ultrasounds I truly felt I was going to have a nervous breakdown but we have a healthy baby measuring 3 days ahead the little fatso! Sending you all Easter love!

@Norberta lovely scan 💕 so pleased for you ✨🙌 xx

arianasky · 17/04/2022 11:57

@Skl2021 I bet I'll have it until I give birth knowing my luck 😂 ( if I get that far 🤞🏻🙏🏻)

@Bridgey8 that's so funny 😂😂 I had a dream I got bitten by a snake and I woke up screaming last night 😬
