@Bridgey8 last time I mentioned I was anxious my midwife just told me to look on some app and that's about it 🤦 yes might be easier not to do it then with you going away. You don't want to be panicking the whole time. I think I feel things but I don't think I do probably wind. I think I want to feel it so bad that it's all in my head 🤦 I'm just a huge mess. Xx

Bridgey8 · 12/04/2022 14:02

I feel your pain @Skl2021 but you are doing amazingly well. We've got this! Just take each day as it comes xx

speake · 12/04/2022 14:08

Hi ladies, have any of you had your 10(ish) week bloods come back abnormal? All I’ve been told so far is that I have an abnormal rise in white blood cells and that they want to repeat the test in two weeks but obv it’s just another thing to panic about 🙈 Just wondering if anyone has experienced this or even has a clue what it means? Thank you xxx

Skl2021 · 12/04/2022 14:53

@Bridgey8 thankyou and hope the appointment goes well tomorrow 💕 xx

@speake I'm not 100% so don't take my word for it but I thought a raise in white blood cells is because your body is fighting an infection. Have u had a cold or anything? X

Tofu35 · 12/04/2022 15:02

First wobble- I've been invited to go to Dublin with work at the end of May (so I'll be about 12 weeks). I know logically flying or travel is completely safe, but I can't shake the worry that my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 9 weeks. So do I tell my boss about this pregnancy and say I'm worried about flying/miscarrying again, or do I just book it and hope by 12 weeks I'll be safely in my 2nd trimester and feeling calm?

speake · 12/04/2022 15:05

@Skl2021 thank you, I ended up just being brave and googling & you’re right that’s what normally causes it. I did have Covid a couple of weeks ago so it could definitely be as a result of that. Fingers crossed it is & there are no other nasties lurking about that I don’t know of! 🤞🏼🙏🏼 Xxx

Cruz86 · 12/04/2022 15:43

Hi ladies, I'm just catching up on this thread - I've missed so much!

@Skl2021 no I haven't spoken to the gp yet because I feel like I'll get palmed off, being told I'm being sick very little and I'm nearly 12 weeks when it should ease off. Yesterday was just one of those days where the actual vomiting got me in the morning and I couldn't cope for the rest of the day. Feeling a bit better today but haven't done any work 😩 So sorry you're feeling so anxious. It comes in waves doesn't it, but when it's there, it's so hard to shake off the bad feelings 😞

@aesgriff I'm so sorry you've had such a bad experience, how dare they take the scan away from you! I'm glad you've complained, epu should be there to support us, not make you feel like shit. Good luck with your scan ❤️

Good luck with your scan on Thursday @mrshodgy21!

Welcome @Annny27 and good luck with your scan 😊

Oh my goodness @speake, that is such an insensitive thing for them to say at the clinic! I'm so sorry you were told that. I have every faith that all will be okay at your scan. Thinking of you ❤️

Hi @Norberta. Pregnancy is so tough after loss and I agree about how cruel mmc are. They make you question every little thing. Just try to remember that this is a different pregnancy and will hopefully have a different outcome.

Good luck with your scan on Thursday @arianasky!

@Bridgey8 will you midwife look for a heartbeat at this stage? Mine said she won't try until my 18 week appointment because it can be difficult to find before this point!

I think you've got to ask yourself whether you'd be okay with going at 12 weeks @Tofu35. If so, I'd book it and try not think about anything bad happening 🌈

Xx

Norberta · 12/04/2022 15:48

@Tofu35 if I was you I’d book it and assume all will be well. We can’t put our lives on hold for the next 9 months and keeping busy is probably good for the anxiety (says an anxious wreck over here Confused) xxx

Norberta · 12/04/2022 15:50

@Cruz86 sorry to hear you’re so poorly but that must be wonderfully reassuring! (How weird is this pregnancy world that you can find joy in being sick as a dog?!) hope it gets more manageable but still reassuring for you xx

Bridgey8 · 12/04/2022 15:50

@Cruz86 she might not I guess! Will see what happens tomorrow but will tell her my anxiety. I'm hoping she will say she will pop round when I'm
Back to check it then 😂😂

Skl2021 · 12/04/2022 15:54

@Tofu35 I think if u want to go then think positive. It will be something good to look forward too. Unless u don't like work 🤣🙈 or if u feel better telling your boss then do that too. 💕 Xx

@speake yes I wouldn't worry it will probably be something like that and with you having covid it all makes sense! 💕 Xx

@Cruz86 yes hopefully it eases soon for you just keep hanging in there 🤞💕 but if it gets really bad I would try them! Yes my anxiety is sky high worse than before my 12 week scan. I can't shake this gut feeling of something has gone wrong and they normally say trust your instincts 😣 hate this feeling xx

mrshodgy21 · 12/04/2022 18:06

When's everyone's due dates mines is the 24th October if it don't change on my 12 week scan Thursday x

aesgriff · 12/04/2022 19:20

Hi all, so sorry to keep you waiting for news but they scan place always runs late 🙄 doesn’t help with anxiety. Baby all ok and measuring a day ahead. We’ve made it to 12 weeks and I am so, so grateful 😇 no explanation for bleeding other than as the sac grows larger it could push out some old blood in the uterus but mine was fresh soooo not sure that works Will have a good catch up when we’re home xx

speake · 12/04/2022 19:25

@aesgriff amazing news, congratulations 💕 So glad everything looks as it should & baby is doing well! Xxx

barneymcgroo · 12/04/2022 19:32

Hooray! Brilliant news, well done making it to 12 weeks! Seems like such a milestone - hope you can relax for a bit. X

Skl2021 · 12/04/2022 19:58

@aesgriff lovely news 💞 xx

aesgriff · 12/04/2022 20:16

@@Skl2021 is there anywhere that you can get a scan booked in for over the weekend? I travelled an hour away for my one last week 🤦‍♀️ I really feel for you the anxiety is just too much xx

@Cruz86 so sorry you’re feeling so rotten 😫 carbs, carbs and more carbs xx

@speake I deffo think the white blood cells are related to covid.. I think it’s good they’ll be doing them in 2 weeks time to check but it still will be sending you over the edge. Hugs!! Xx

@barneymcgroo a big milestone I’ve never met before 😀 just wish I would stop bleeding!! Xx

@arianasky how are you feeling for Thursday? Xx

@Tofu35 personally I’d speak with your manager and be open about it. See if there’s any way of attending virtual although to my knowledge flying proves to be no risk in 1st trimester xx

aesgriff · 12/04/2022 20:16

Thank you @sunnyd67 @flowergarden16 @scoutcat I hope you ladies are ok? This journey is so, so hard xx

Annny27 · 12/04/2022 20:18

@aesgriff amazing news! Maybe its your cervix if they can't find a cause?

@mrshodgy21 I am 26/27th ish of October. Scan on Thursday too!

flowergarden16 · 12/04/2022 20:21

Huge congrats @aesgriff !! So lovely to hear

Doing ok. Feeling quite normal today so have got in my head it's another MMC as I think this is around the time the last baby stopped growing.

Have to wait until next Friday for next (private) scan to 'check'. Ugh

Xx

Skl2021 · 12/04/2022 20:23

@aesgriff I haven't looked further away yet. Were In the sticks so not alot around us 🙈 just having a major wobble last few days. I thought it was meant to get easier after 12 weeks 🤦 I have got worse! X

mrshodgy21 · 12/04/2022 20:29

@aesgriff that's brill news on ur scan making to 12 weeks it's such a milestone ain't it!

@Annny27 mine was originally the 27th but baby measuring ahead good luck for your scan Thursday x

mrshodgy21 · 12/04/2022 20:31

@flowergarden16 try and stay positive I understand it's hard I had 3 mmc in a row last year never made it past 9 weeks and we're now just over 12 weeks we got a heart Doppler on Amazon and it's definitely helped with the anxiety xx

sunnyd67 · 12/04/2022 20:38

@aesgriff amazing news, congratulations 🥰

aesgriff · 12/04/2022 20:43

@flowergarden16 I have honestly felt normal this entire pregnancy. A few times I’ve been sick and apart from the sore boobs (which I think are caused by progesterone) I’d have never of known! Next Friday can’t come quick enough 🙏🏻 Xx

@Skl2021 rubbish isn’t it! I’ve spent £500 on early scans… that’s a disgusting amount of money and I’m rinsing our savings. I so wish that bereavement midwives could be allocated if you’ve ever had a pregnancy loss and that EPU would support early scans for those with anxiety. Maybe we should petition!!! 🤣 xx

@mrshodgy21 feels really good doesn’t it 🥰 I’ll probably enjoy this feeling until the moment my eyes open tomorrow where I’ll be full of the fear again 🤣 xx

@Annny27 that’s what I’m thinking… I’ve had a swab done so let’s see what that shows up with. How are you doing? Xx

@sunnyd67 thank you!! Xx
