Hi all,

I'm 42 and got my BFP on weds, so it's still very early days, but I thought I'd put up a thread for any older mums who want to join in. Fingers crossed I'll be due two weeks after my daughter's 2nd birthday and a month before my 43rd birthday. We had 2 losses due before my daughter so I'm a little anxious but quietly excited too!

Congratulations!! Hope all goes ok for you!

I'm 40 and currently 18+3 with my second :)

Trying81 · 01/04/2022 13:19

Congratulations, I’m 40 and 14 weeks - will be 41 by the due date

Carebear99 · 01/04/2022 16:14

Hi everyone, I'm 39 (hope it's OK to join) and I'm 17w today. Pregnant naturally after ttc for 20 years, both have fertility issues

Cakecakecheese · 01/04/2022 16:20

I'm 41 and 20 weeks pregnant with my first child.

babydays123 · 01/04/2022 17:37

Hello!

I'm 40 (was 39 when get BFP) and I'm 38 weeks pregnant. I have 2 daughters age 12 and 11 so it's really felt like baby number 1 again as I forgot almost everything (on top of this pregnancy being nothing like my previous two....due to age or boy? Who knows!)

I've got between 5 days and 14 days until I meet my little boy.

Currently still working (my own company) and have about a months work to try and squeeze in before he makes an appearance!

Just hoping he goes easy on me for the first few days 😆

Hi all, I'm 40 and 28 weeks pregnant with my first child. Feeling knackered at this stage!

Merryclaire · 06/05/2022 07:41

Hi everyone - I’m 22 weeks with my first child (and first pregnancy). Turning 40 this summer (not long before the due date) and DH is 43. We’ve been together for 12 years with no talk of kids so everyone has been shocked!
In my mind I’m a young 40, but my body feels older and I’m finding pregnancy challenging. Very up and down.
Congratulations everyone.

feistymumma · 06/05/2022 07:44

Hello everyone,

I'm so far the oldest at 46! Baby number 5 on the way due in December. Had baby number 4 (10 months old) last year - other children are 24,17 and 13.

Cakecakecheese · 06/05/2022 08:16

I'm 41 and 25 weeks pregnant with my first baby.

stuntbubbles · 06/05/2022 08:22

Hello! 40 and six weeks pregnant. Have a just-turned-3yo daughter too. Feeling knackered and sick as a dog. Will be 41 by the time I’m due – on New Year’s Eve!

thewindbeneathmywings · 06/05/2022 08:30

Congratulations! I found out I was pregnant a week before my 40th! Currently 36 weeks and all going well!

Cookiemomma · 06/05/2022 13:13

Hi 43 soon to be 44 really thought it was all over for me 🙈 happy surprise 💃🏽👏🏽🥂

dreamyunicorn · 06/05/2022 18:28

Lovely stories, congratulations everyone!

I had a mmc earlier this year and just got my bfp today!

So happy but so cautious too, I'm 41 and have a 5 year old. Had been trying 2+ years before the bfp was a mmc and this was our first cycle trying again.

How is everyone doing?
I'm not really believing it yet.

@MariaDingbat has your baby arrived yet?

justlemonade · 11/05/2022 20:34

I'm 40 and 16 + 2. Other children are older and this has been such a lovely surprise. I'm feeling the age though...this pregnancy is more tiring than the last ones!

Wishbub · 11/05/2022 21:38

I'm 42 and 8 weeks +1. We already have a 4 year old, and had decided we were one and done until the beginning of this year. I'm definitely more tired this time round 😴

JenniferR2021 · 11/05/2022 23:10

I'm nearly 39 im only 4 weeks +6 I have a 16 year old and 13 year old feel like im starting all over again .

Badhairday101 · 15/05/2022 09:32

It’s so lovely to read all of these stories.

Please can I join. I had an unexpected positive test last week and am around 5 weeks and due 14th Jan. My other children are 21, 16 and 11 so although I’ve never had ones close in age this truly feels like starting all over again.
We are really happy and excited but feeling a bit worried too that things may go wrong. I’m also worried about telling my 16 year old, he really struggles with change and I’m not sure how he’ll take it.

Merryclaire · 15/05/2022 09:50

Congratulations @Badhairday101 that’s wonderful news! Perhaps wait to tell your children until after the 12 week scan and once you’ve had any tests you may decide you need. Your 16 year old will soon go off and live their own life, and will adjust if you make them feel included and an important part of the baby’s life. They might be more positive than you think. But if not, don’t let a few difficult conversations affect this wonderful opportunity to have another child as they will come to accept it. Best of luck- I hope the pregnancy works out for you

Badhairday101 · 15/05/2022 09:58

@Merryclaire you are right and he will get used to it even if it takes a while and is difficult to start with. He’ll be 17 and at college by the time it arrives so will be much more independent and thinking ahead to his future.
I’m definitely going to wait until after my scan and his GCSEs to break the news!

Trying81 · 15/05/2022 13:19

Almost 41 and 20 weeks pregnant

First pregnancy, and it’s been a struggle so far with hyperemesis and recurrent UTIs - kidney infections

Hoping the second half of pregnancy is easier on me

MariaDingbat · 15/05/2022 17:05

Hi everyone! It's great to great all your happy stories. I'm 10+5 today and have been quite ill the past few weeks unfortunately. I never threw up with my first pregnancy but I couldn't keep anything down at all this time and started throwing up at week 7. Thankfully the worst had passed, I hope!

We had a scan at 8 weeks and saw a little wriggly little creature with a heartbeat so I was delighted. I have my next scan on weds at 11 weeks for the harmony test and I have the usual scan anxiety but trying to be positive.

I’m nearly 41 and nearly at my due date! Not sure which milestone will come first 😂 good luck to every one of us ‘ancient’ 🙄 mums to be!

DangerouslyBored · 15/05/2022 17:21

👋🏼 I’m 47 (!) and 16w 3d. First (and last!) baby. First trimester was hard with 24/7 nausea but second trimester has been great so far. Energy has returned and I’m loving being pregnant. Having a little bump makes it all feel ‘real’.

Overthehillandpreggy · 16/05/2022 17:52

I’m so glad I’m not alone!!
I am the oldest here, by far. Turned 48 last Tuesday and found out I am pregnant, on Thursday.
Still not got my head round it and a bit petrified tbh.
I’m about the 6 week mark.
Thought I was premenopausal and that was the reason I’d not had a period in a while 🤷🏻‍♀️

Congratulations! I completely understand how you are feeling. I still haven't got my head round mine and I am 11weeks gone. I guess because I had a baby last July and here I am again, thinking I won't get pregnant because I'm old :)
